How much do you love Kingdom Hearts? I really really like it, but it's not the only thing out there.
Do you own the games? I have KH and KH II, and I've been meaning to get KH Re:COM. But I don't have any handheld game systems, so I'll just have to wait for the PS2 versions of 358/2 Days and Birth By Sleep.
Do you own the manga? No, but I've read a few of the books. I'll probably buy it someday, though.
Have you beaten KH1? Yep.

Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition. Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children.

He declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an Aspirin to a student, but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense took a beating when you couldn’t defend yourself from a burglar in your own home without the burglar suing you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot, spilled a little in her lap and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents Truth and Trust, by his wife Discretion, his daughter Responsibility, and his son Reason. He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers: I Know My Rights; I Want It Now; Someone Else Is To Blame; and I’m A Victim.

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.

I'm waiting for my laundry to finish so's I can pack for the con, so I'm going to list mine, too!!! ^_^

Right now, I have no finished cosplays that I could just pull out and go, "okay, here's a good costume" at any occasion. I have several that are kinda-sorta done-ish. First category,
Needs Adjustment:
Tamaki -- I have shamed the Ouran prince with this cosplay. The blazer is absolute crap, his wig is terrible quality, and I don't have a good pair of pants or shoes for him. He needs some serious adjustment.
Riku -- I never finished his outer vest thing, and his inner vest thing isn't quite right yet (fricking Keybearers and their weird clothes!!). I did, however, get a great pair of pants for him today!!! And his wig, as always, is smexy!

So, there are several cosplays that I've done over the years that I really enjoyed but can't wear anymore, for whatever reason, but still want to someday. So this is the second category,
Re-do!!!:
Ryuichi Sakuma -- the famous rockstar from Gravitation was my first at-con cosplay. I had a lot of fun working on him, and he came out great. But I did not have the body for an outfit like that, and I was really bad at binding at the time, so it didn't look too good on me. I would just give it away, but the sweater has shrunk over the years and now it just looks crappy. He is a character I would like to play again someday.
Kyo Sohma -- I had a great time playing the cat last year, and I would love to do it again, this time with other Furuba characters to hang out with. But I styled his wig on a wig head that is much smaller than my head, so it came out way too short on me. I need to re-make his wig completely, and get him some new pants. His old ones, uh... died... totally an accident...
Light Yagami -- okay, so his is actually pretty okay as is, but I would like to improve upon it. I don't have the blazer, so basically I'm any guy in a nice shirt and red tie carrying around a black notebook. Not exactly specific. Also, I can't wear him until I get a good wig for him; My hair is black right now, and I'm planning on growing it out. So, no Light for me until then.
Nono -- I haven't even worn her yet and she needs to be redone. You might remember her as the bubbly, happy, pink-haired, tall girl from Diebuster. She's awesome, and I'm about to disgrace her at NYAF with my half-assed cosplay of her. blehh, she needs a better wig....

So, everyone does a cosplay that they loved but have to say goodbye to, for whatever reason. And so this category is for cosplay that are
Retired:
Namine -- She was really fun to play; I loved messing with the Marluxias last year at ctcon. It was awesome, but I can't play her anymore. I shouldn't have in the beginning. Why? Because I am tall and fat, and Namine is short and skinny. Mostly the height thing, though. If I were short and fat it wouldn't look as weird, I think. Also, her wig is crap.
Nana -- this was more of a closet cosplay than anything else (although I did dye my hair for it), and I only wore it once, but it was really fun. she's all sweet and innocent. I didn't really get a chance to play with her character at all, but in my own head I did, and it was awesome. Yeah...
Ichigo -- Ah, my 9th grade halloween costume. Tee hee.. tee hee.... I'll just leave it at that.

And of course, everyone has the cosplays that they have yet to do, but dream of doing someday. These are the protential, maybe in the future list. In other words, I'll do them
Someday:
Rip Van Winkle -- I think she was super cool in that one episode of the OVA, until Alucard showed up and she flipped the fuck out. But she could be cool to do, plus her outfit kicks ass. And I want to do a group cosplay with a bunch of friends, so she works.
Orgy coat -- okay, so this isn't a full cosplay, but it so counts! I want to make one, not buy one, so it's going to be hard. It may have to wait until I'm a better cosplayer.
Kagome -- I've dreamt of cosplaying Kagome since before I knew what cosplay was. But not just any Kagome cosplay. The ultimate Kagome cosplay. I was going to get her bag and put all her crap in it; the portable stove, about 28 packs of ramen, a medi pack, lots of candy and souvenirs, and of course, her school books crammed in there somewhere. It was going to be perfect. (I sometimes think I put more emphasis on the bag than on the costume itself...) It's going to happen someday, even if I'm not the one wearing it.

Things that suck:
1. I hate my own appearance, but I can't seem to fix it.
2. I still need to get my front tooth fixed.
3. I still really miss my mom from time to time.
4. Worse than missing her, though, is the guilt that I only think of her from time to time.
5. It's been really hot and humid recently.

Things that rock:
1. I have a job, and I got paaaaid today! ^_^
2. My Tamaki cosplay's debut is coming up in two weeks! (still need to do the blazer, but it's gonna be awesome!)
3. I've rediscovered my love for Harry Potter that the angst in the fifth book had extinguished.
4. I have a lot of great memories of friends and family to help me through the hard times.
5. I have a great dad and stepmom (though my dad can be a bit annoying at times...) who way overestimate my awesomeness.
6. I'm gonna get pocky this sunday!!!!!
7. My dad pays for wireless at my house, so I can have (reasonably) fast internet any time I want it! Which also means that...
8. ...I have a near-unlimited supply of anime whenever I want it!
9. I now have unlimited texting (although I have to pay $10 a month for it)

For the past while, I've been having trouble sleeping. I've messed up my sleep schedule such that my only option at this point is the completely reset it by staying up all night once or twice, and then going to sleep at a reasonable hour for several nights in a row. It's a very delicate process, and messing it up even one night means I have to start all over again.
I stayed up two nights in a row, and then slept properly last night. You might be wondering, then, why I'm writing this at 3.20 in the morning. Well, that's because my dad kept me up until almost 12.30 and I was forced to start again on my sleep-resetting.

It's hot in my room tonight. Usually it's fine if I keep the window open, but for some reason it was incredibly hot earlier. So I decided to sleep downstairs on the couch, in the air conditioning (this was at around 10.30, 11'o). I went down and told my dad and stepmom as much. They were watching a show, so I had to wait until it was over. At midnight when the show ended my dad started looking for something else to watch. I said, "I thought you were going to bed after your show ended." he just kinda shrugged that off...
Half an hour later and I figured it was time to stop hoping I could get to sleep tonight.
Remember that this is coming from a self-proclaimed irresponsible idiot, but if you were keeping someone from sleeping (especially someone whom you constantly bug about her sleeping habits), wouldn't you want to let her get to sleep as soon as possible?

So here I am, watching PotC1 just to pass the time, and getting more tired by the minute. Here's hoping I don't fall asleep tonight...

Well, time passed and I eventually got really into making onigiri (yummm, riceballs!). A common way to serve onigiri is to mold it into a triangle shape and wrap it in a small piece of nori for easier holding. Well, I've been dying to try that, so I asked my stepmother to pick up some nori next time she was at the store. It arrived yesterday. Today I had a wild burst of inspiration and, instead of making onigiri like I'd planned, I made sushi. I cooked some rice and fried some salmon with teriyaki sauce, and set to work.
The sushi kit has dissapeared over the years, and we no longer have the roller, so I had to make temaki, but they still turned out pretty damn good.
A few hours later I decided to make some more, and I made enough for everyone to try some (this time I used smoked salmon and lettuce). And here's where the story gets awesome.

my stepbrother liked it. He liked it!
I asked him just now if he would eat it if I made more another time, and he said yes!!!

Finally I have found a way to make him respect me: cooking things he likes!!!


I think it's safe to say that my sushi making adventure was a success.

It was kind of long and complicated, and it didn't really get good until the very end. Basically, I was with some friends and we were trying to get to a convention, but there were all these problems. and not regular convention-halting problems like traffic, money, or forgetting the reservation number for the hotel room, oh no. these were, like, super problems. and some of them were supernatural problems.
All I really remember from that part is that me and got trapped in this crazy magical house where everything was a ritual or a ceremony or whatever. And we both ended up falling in love with people there, and the people we were in love with both ended up dying. So we had to go through these death rituals which involved a special headband and a pool. It was kind of scary.
But after my guy died we got to leave (I think he was the one keeping us there) and go on to the convention!!!

So, I think my subconscious was sending me forwards in time, to Otakon of next year, because it references something that could quite possibly happen this year at Otakon, but has yet to happen.
I was in the bathroom (this is when the shift between the two phases of the dream occured; it had previously been the lady's shower room where there was this drama about wearing shoes in the shower), not in cosplay yet, and I was coming out of the stall to wash my hands when I saw a familiar face. She wasn't in cosplay yet either, but I knew. So I went up to her and I was like, "Hinagiku?" She turned and gave me this really puzzled stare, so I put on my Tamaki voice and was like, "You may not remember me, but I was here last year with Tamaki---- err, wait, no I meant to say Haruhi! I was here last year with Haruhi!" (yes I really made that blunder. Even in my dreams I can't talk right)
She still didn't seem to get it, so I was like, "Haruhi..... Fujioka?"
And from behind me I heard this gasp. I turn around, and there's this amazing Benio cosplayer just coming out from this other room (I think it was a changing room... connected to the bathroom...?), and accompanied by the other head of Zukabu (also already in costume). She looked at me and was like, "You know that beautiful flower?" or something. And I was like, "Yeah, I was here with her last year."
And I think she recognized me, but she wanted to test me. So she was like, "Do you know what it's called?" ... (me: O.o ?) ... "Our club, do you know what it's called?"
And I go, in my most Tamaki-esque voice, "Zukabu!"
And that was when those GODDAMN FRICKING LOUD BIRDS OUTSIDE MY WINDOW WOKE ME UP!!!!! DDDDDXXXXX
there they go, chattering away without a care in the world! Goddamn those fricking birds!!! The dream was just getting good, goddamnit!!! DX



On a side note, I think it's kind of interesting that the only part of the con I saw in this dream was the bathroom, and that a scene like this took place there. I wasn't in costume yet, but I was playing Tamaki in the bathroom. The Benio cosplayer was also being her character. But at a con, the bathroom is really the one place where a cosplayer reclaims their outside identity (well, except when registering for something, but that's different). The place where everyone's equal, no matter who your character is. Tamaki and Benio fixing their makeup side-by-side at the mirror. Xemnas helping Sora with "his" binding.
When you get into the bathroom, you kind of have to leave your character at the door for the most part. (I mean, if your character's a lecher, you shouldn't actually be peeping under the stalls) Especially if you're crossplaying, because why would a guy go into the girls' bathroom (or vice-versa)? If you have to think of a legitimate reason for your character to be using the opposite gender's restroom every time, you'll pee yourself.

Just my thoughts.

Starting with last weekend, I had my birthday dinner in NYC with my dear friend . My dad took us to Ninja, which is one of the coolest restaurants I've ever been to! I got assasinated!! ^_^ I won't tell you anything else about the place (no plot spoiling), but just know that you have to go there.
Then, over the course of the week I stressed about my costume but kept putting it off and putting it off and stressing until frickin' Thursday when I finally put my foot down and decided to go shopping for it... but before I left, my dad's fiancee (now wife, but I'll get to that in a minute) said she had some stuff I might be able to use. Turns out, the vest and jacket were perfect and worked amazingly with the outfit, so it was all good! I just needed a top hat, so we headed to Party City while on other errands. (I'll upload a picture of the finished costume eventually...)
On Friday morning I took a tour of a place called Waveny House (which is where my dad got married. again, I'll get to that in a minute), and practiced walking in 2-inch stiletto heels for a few hours. DX pain~ Just before noon, though, I got on a train and rode it to Boston for an amazing anime convention!!!! AB FTW!!!


Anime Boston Review: (TL;DR at the end of this section)
I saw some awesome people, including (who was the Sora to my Riku) and (whose halloweentown!Larxene was adorable!). My Sora didn't get there until late Friday night, so no one really recognized my custom Riku outfit, but that's okay. I hung out with a friend from school and some of his friends and we went to a japanese noodle house called Man-tei (I highly recommend it). After that, we went to a japense grocery store (don't remember its name) and got snackage! (they don't sell pocky and stuff at AB for some ungodly reason) I got an adorable bento box named Clickety Click (c) Lube Sheep. No joke. Then we wandered around for awhile.
When my Sora got there, she put on a hime-loli outfit and we walked around as Princess and Prince until the rave started and I got changed.
The rave was pretty good (what I saw of it, anyway). I danced for about... mmmmm, an hour, I'd say? probably that... until they noticed my shoelessness and kicked me out. I went to my hotel room to get my shoes, but I made the mistake of sitting down for a minute.... the minute turned into a few minutes.... then a half hour.... then an hour... eventually I decided that I was too tired to go back downstairs. (many apologies to my friend Paul; I had promised him a dance-off, but I didn't end up fulfilling that. sorry, man)
Saturday was pretty cool. It started off a bit panicky, since the person who was supposed to bring Sora's wig FORGOT it. So we had to go to Walgreens and pick up some hairspray for her real hair. We're lucky she's been growing her hair out lately. DX But hey, at least I now own some got2Be. That stuff is awesome! I got Pomade, Glued, and... something else, I don't remember... anyway, it was my first time spiking hair, but I've seen a bunch of tutorials so Sora's hair turned out pretty okay. Could have been better, but certainly could have been worse. After fixing the wig, we were kind of hungry so we wandered around Boston in search of that Japanese grocery store (whose name I now remember was Cherry Mart) for some pre-made bentos. It took us a good hour and a half to find it, which is pretty pathetic considering it was only a few blocks away. I blame bad directions, personally. We were tourists in a city of tourists, so no one really knew where we were. Eventually we did find it, thanks to some nice women in a shoe store, but they hadn't put out the lunches yet!!! DX so we grabbed some mochi (I got another bento box) and some drinks and we split.
Most of the rest of Saturday is just a happy haze, so I can't really tell you what happened. I remember helping my friend's friend with her character's tattoos (she was the shorter of the two Haseos there) for about an hour, and watching a bunch of people hang out in the courtyard below us (lots of pretty costumes down there, btw). At some point, Haseo and I decided to go to the plushie workshop, but they were only teaching how to make people dolls and we can already do that so we split. We wandered the dealers' room and I spent entirely too much money! ^_^;;;; At some point in the day, the same group from friday went back to the noodle house. There's a few characters that are unknown to the general public, and some stuff that most people think are one way, but are really a totally different way altogether... Lemme try and tell you about it...
There's an albino named Dove, and a girl named Brianna, and a girl that I don't know the name of yet...

Okay, you know the sword in the stone? Well, it wasn't Excalibur... It wasn't even, like, a king-detector thingy... Merlin put it there, and held it there for years until Arthur came. Then when Arthur tried, Merlin let it go, so it seemed like he was all-mighty, and should be king. *sigh* It was a set-up.
Also, about it not being Excalibur; Excalibur wasn't even a sword. It was a polearm, and it did appear from the Lake. But not from the Lady. It was in the hands of a man who emerged, fully grown from the Lake, the son of the Lady in the Lake. His name was Dove. He had white hair, and blue eyes. An albino. Something happened, and Arthur got pissed at him, so he banished him from the kingdom. Very unfortunately for Dove, Merlin cursed him and his lineage with the Dread (an uncontrollable ability to interact with the dead). Somehow Mordred was spared, but...
Oh, yeah. Dove was Mordred's dad. When he was banished, he met Morgana, and they had two children; Mordred, and a daughter whose name we don't know. We're not sure if this daughter had the Dread or not, but Mordred didn't.
Oh, yeah... Brianna! She was Gwenivere's main hand-maiden-type-person... She and Arthur were having an affair, as were Gwen and Lancelot. But everyone knew about it. Like, Arthur gave Gwen and Lance his blessing, and Gwen and Lance were happy for Bri and Art. There was no, like, "I swear I'm not cheating! Here, Lance, go fight for my honor" type thing...
Anyway, eventually, Dove and his peeps went and waged war on Art and his. (Gwen and Lance brought their's and joined Dove) There was a huge fight, in which Art and Mordred died. Some other shit happened, and then Merlin sealed all the magic in the world into Dove and cast him back into the Lake.
...
At least, that's what I got from it... I'm probably remembering wrong...

Oh, yeah, and the reason that everyone thinks that Excalibur was a sword is because the blade broke during the war, and that's the only part that was found. ]]> ~SittingAlone
