Hai guys,

So I'm heading back over to mom's place some time next week to try and grab my artwork that I had lying about back there. I've got a lot more scanned in over this end but I'm too lazy to colour it just yet so it might be a little while before it gets posted. I'm finding it difficult to go back to art I drew months back, I just really want to get onto some new stuff but I'll see how I feel once I've collected it all. If I don't colour it all, I will try and just upload some uncoloured stuff, even if it does get posted straight into scraps.

I'm desperate to start drawing a set of pictures about the MMORPGs I've played over the past few years. MMORPGs are a big hobby for me and fiancé now, we moved on from World of Warcraft a while back and since then have tried Warhammer Online, Everquest II and now have stuck with Lord of the Rings Online. (In a desperate attempt not to go back to WoW - it is far too addictive).

I really want to draw the characters I've created and levelled in these games. Some I have an emotional attachment too, yeah I know...sad, but when you invest a lot of time and money into games like MMORPGs such things inevitably happen. So I thought I'd quickly jot down some of the drawings I have in mind, prehaps then I'll make a serious start on them.

World of Warcraft

Snugglepups - (okay just hang in there with this one) Snugglepups is an anthropomorphic cow (known in game as a Tauren). He's also a Druid and one that specialises in shapeshifting. His most common form is that of a bear as he is an in-game tank. That means he takes all the nasty hits off big, angry bosses whilst (hopefully) someone heals him. Snugglepups likes dancing in major cities both as a cow and a bear. His armor is leather and is generally coloured green/purple. And he has a huge, skull-crushing mace that he's fairly untrained in. I've always imagined him to be fairly dopey although he's by far my most powerful character ever levelled. Epix.

Ky - Ky is also a Tauren. Except she is one of the very few female Tauren to grace Azeroth (their skin isn't very popular with players). She is a Hunter and her only pet is a hyena named Huey that she tamed from Thousand Needles (so it's fair to say that the pair have been through everything together). Ky looks a bit like a rugby player in her armor, especially the shoulders which make her look stocky. The armor is mail and is generally black with some glowing green parts. She uses a gun which lets off an ulmighty flash whenever she fires it. I've always considered Ky to be quite a serious character, being one of the few female Taurens (and a Hunter at that!) I feel she has always had a lot to prove, though Huey is completely insane and his mischief often lets her down.

Astol - Astol is a Blood Elf Paladin. I levelled him up as a healer although it got the point where he was getting so overpowered I was just using area of effect spells to destroy multiple targets, whilst healing myself back to full health. Yey! Astol was becomming close to one of my favourite characters before I quit WoW. He had fairly dark, short hair for an elf and I always considered him to be a bit arrogant, the sort of guy to laugh in the face of danger before stepping back off a cliff or something. Although I had yet to reach level 60 with Astol, it was always my intention to get him the healing plate mail he deserved so think gold/red armor with a huge (and very likely glowing) shield.

*****UPDATE***** (18/05/09)

And here's the rest...

Warhammer Online

Snugs - Snugs is a squig herder. He's basically a little green gobbo with a spear and a "bow 'n arrer" and a multitude of wierd and wonderful squigs (meatballs on two-legs...with teeth). He shoots things and stabs things and if they still aren't dead after that, he sends his pet squig barrel-rolling after them. Snugs was an area of effect herder (or he was heading that way). I loved explosive shots, shrapnel shots - anything that hit multiple targets at once. The squig I mainly used had a single thick horn on its ugly head and Snugs armor was pretty standard orc-like armour - thick, scrappy leather with lots and lots of spikes.

Murmur - Murmur is a Chosen tank. A big, scary, demon-worshiping dude in plate armor that glows with a sickly aura. Nuff said really. He doesn't say much.

Lord of the Rings Online

Pendrax - Pendrax is my current avatar for my current MMORPG. He is very similar in aesthetics to Astol. He's an elf (although obviously in this game he is a proper Tolkien elf) and has short, spikey brown hair. He is currently a level 41 champion (a dual-wielding dps menace) who specialises in, yep you guessed it, area of effect or AOE damage. I love AOE, leave me alone. Since you can design your own outfit from an early level in this game, I've already spent far too much g...

I found the most hillarious thing ever. Something I wrote about one of my old, old characters (a blue big cat named Antok) when I was...hmm maybe 13 years old:

"This totally kewl guy is Antok and is probably the most handsome in the tribe. He has a wife, Ali'b, and a daughter Chem who has bright blue fur like himself. He was the leader of the tribe until he handed the leadership over to Kar, his best buddie. From now on he constantly looks after his daughter making sure no harm comes to her. Even though he is a pendant bearer, which allow him to cast magic, his spell comands are sloppy and slow. He's much stronger with physical attacks."

Er...

"This totally kewl guy-"
"-his best buddie."

WTF WAS I ON. Anyhow, its late. Byeeeee.

So I've been waiting around for Canon or Vista to make the wonderful driver that will allow me to actually scan in my art for months now. They wont respond to emails and if they did I'm pretty sure they'd say something like, "you suck, buy new scanner plix."

AARGH!!

Thing is, I cannot afford new scanner and although I guess I could use the ones at my fiancé's uni, that's like a four mile walk...that way somewhere (yes, I'm gesturing in a certain direction) and it's just hastle. I'm pretty sure I've forgotten how to use Photoshop by now. I did try drawing freehand in Photoshop but it was total FAIL.

I'm saving up for a shiny car which is top priority atm. Then I'll be able to find all the better jobs waiting out there for me...yeah right. I'm beginning to think that University was a waste of money, although can't say I resent going because it was awesome. So yeah I'll keep you posted. XD

In the meantime...

Odds on Rose turning up in the final-final? Oh come on, its inevitable isn't it? It HAS to happen. And she'll be pregnant ofc. Oh. How. I'll. Laugh. There will definitely be a server crash over at doctorwhoforum.com and that in itself makes it worth it.

-Snugs

So, I finally decided to stop playing World of Noobcraft and fix my scannner. Well, that was the intention. I got a lot of art lying around now and it took one particular piece covered in dust and what looked like spider eggs (ugh...) to finally make me realise, that this stuff needs scanning.

Six hours I spent trying to find a driver for my scanner. Six hours! Damn you vista...and eventually at some ungodly hour in the morning, I gave up amidst much *RAGE* and tea mugs.

I am hoping that when I move home in September, my other half can fix it for me. He knows stuff.

I got some really cool stuff to colour, like my concept for a renegade Time Lord who I've called The Bear. She uses the power of the Vortex to shift into a bear form - light and fury. Think the gods from Zelda: Twilight Princess on a bad day. Although it's not exactly a bear, its some sort of Gallifreyan creature that resembles a bear. So yes that means lots more Doctor Who art, features the 10th Doc this time. The Bear and 9th was just too much ANGST.

Oh and while I'm here and talking about Doctor Who...is there anyone who likes Doctor 10.2? I think he's awesome! I'd pick him over the original anyday. I just loved the way he was grinning and laughing through most the episdoe (until he obviously committed genocide). And then he gives some really dodgy, provocative looks e.g. when Donna says, "And I got the best bit of the Doctor". Aha, I love him ^^

I got lots and lots and lots of art to upload.

But guess what?! My scanner broke, *le cry*, wanted to get something uploaded before my final year project. Nevermind, there will be a surge of creativity some time after March, so keep tuned.

It has been so long...

Anyway, I just removed my old abandoned account back at Elfwood. I idly checked one of my emails telling me I had a comment there and OH MAI GOD! It seems the people who mindless patrol the YouTube website, posting the most insulting and badly spelt comments they can, have also taken residence in Elfwood now. Apart from the few constructive and "nice" comments I read, the majority were in the region of: "God u SUCKorz. And my sis tinks so too!!!"

So I removed all my old work (and indeed crappy - though thats not the point). DeviantART is the place to be.
