Since my dad was able to take time off of work and I am currently without work, he thought it would be the perfect time to visit before the entire family heads north (to move)

I can't blame the entire company though, since it all fell on one particular department manager. How long has it been since Tinkerbell came out on DVD? Quite awhile, I'm sure.

What I don't get is why I've gone that long without picking up my own copy and watching it. I've been missing out...like mad, crazy missing out!

Shame on me, right?

Well, now that I picked it up and watched it twice...yes, twice...I can get into the fairy craze that I'm sure has more than died down by now. Oh well...at least I'm part of that inner fairy circle now, right?

The film exceeded far beyond any of my expectations. At first glance, I thought it would be one of those 10-year old oriented movies that parents would pop in to keep their kids occupied, but as it turned out, I was completely wrong.

I didn't do anything with it and the name sounded kind of....blah. So, instead I scrapped it and started another one.

What?! Another one? Are you serious?!

Yes. I'm serious.

There are so many projects I have in mind, that I felt I needed to share with the rest of you. Rather than post it all here with my random fan arts and line art colors, it would be much easier for me to keep both things separate. You know?

So, I put together my crafty artsy account and go by the name ~stina-wo

Thought I'd ask because I think the little suckers are kind of fun, plus it give you deviants a chance to show your clever deeds.

The only question is, though...do I stick with the whole Disney Villains theme or do I go with something completely different? I'm asking because I'm sure there are deviants out there who would want their fair share of non-Disney-esque art.

So, Disney or no Disney? Hmm?

I think I just asked a stupid question.

Anyway, I'll wrack up a few ideas in my mind once I get enough feedback on the subject. I may do something completely out of the ordinary, just to let you know.

That's the smell of a new Wacom tablet, that's what it is.

Mmm....who ever thought that Intuos 3 could smell so good. Mmmmm.

After my boyfriend got home from work, we headed out to Best Buy to pick up this hefty little tablet. Well, little really isn't the right word for it. It's a 6 inch by 11 inch tablet that takes up more room on the desk than the computer itself (the computer is a laptop, mind you) and it'll do well on its own on someone's lap if it's accompanied by a laptop thingamajig (stand or holder or whatever you call it).

Anyway. I'm sure you're wondering, "Why the heck would he go out and blow his money on a flippin' tablet, a WACOM tablet to be more specific, when there's cheaper brands on the market? Hmm? And what about this economy deal? Hmm? Is he crazy or something? Those suckers run for about $400 a shot!"

I was watching Wanted earlier today just for kicks, since I've already seen the movie once and thought it was purely awesome and the idea to search for my own name on Google came to mind.

I've only ever done it once and I wasn't too pleased with the results but this time around I was surprised by the fact that I was not only a doctor but a singer and actress as well. Shocking. I'm sure many of you have done the same thing, searched frantically on google for that tad bit of fascinating information about your "other selves".

Well, as I got to page three there was something posted from Helium.com. I am a member of Helium.com and I posted a short story there. It's also buried deep within my own gallery here but I'm sure no one will find it. It was a short (very short) story in the views of a vampire that I wrote some time last year.

It was the only thing I found on Google that I actually had something to do with, so far. I'm sure in later pages, deviantArt will pop up someplace...or at least I hope so.

I've always wondered, too. How many blond Christina Wolfes are there in this world? Heck, how many tall, blond Christina Marie Wolfes are there? It's kind of weird and almost scary to come across someone, online or in person with the same name as you. I wouldn't know, really. It's never happened to me before. But gosh...what would happen if it did?

Alright, I'm pretty sure most of you know about that VIRUS/SPAM thing that's circulating deviantArt. The comments sent to random deviants (I've already gotten the same comment twice) from the watch lists, note inbox and comments left on other deviants' pages who got caught up in the spam trap.

The comment went a little like, "I found your art in a blog, CLICK HERE TO CHECK IT OUT!" I've been advised, on more than one occasion, to NOT click the link. It leads you to a fake deviantArt login page that collects both your username and password for future spammers.

Well, anyway....since I'm pretty sure you know about those now, there is a newer SPAM comment circulating.

It goes a little something like..."I know who your Valentine's Secret is. CLICK HERE TO FIND OUT!!!!"

DON'T CLICK ON IT!!!!! It's the same thing and would likely cause the same problems.

Alright, technically the art jam was set to have five selected winners. That's right, count them....FIVE. Since only two people entered into the art jam, I am offering the opportunity to get an art request from me.

YAY!

What's the catch? Since there obviously has to be a catch....well, since five spots were technically reserved for free art requests (or sketches) and only two were taken, that means that there are only three left.

That's right. THREE.

Well, the idea of combining an art jam with a contest seemed like a pretty interesting idea at the time, but I think next go around I'll have to go through greater lengths to get the word out to the rest of the dA population.

I'll have to go through some pretty extensive planning, too just so I can interest others into joining. I guess that's one reason why I really haven't put forth the effort into commissions and such.

But enough of that...let's hear it for the finalists of the Hades Art Jam!!!!!

First off is ~Phat-Cow's entry...

Twisted Disney Villain


The idea of using blue on black has always caught my eye, so brownie points for ~Phat-Cow for that!

I haven't asked about the significance of that key, but it's a nice addition, especially since it reminds me so much of Kingdom Hearts and I am, proud to say, a complete KH nut. I like the bones too. I was never fond of drawing bones, so kudos to her.

For not having any other Hades related deviations in her gallery, she represented the villain nicely. WOOT WOOT!!! So, congratulations ~Phat-Cow!

Next we have ~blastedgoose....

Disney B******* - Hades


The series name is going through some changes and also, I don't want her younger sister going, "OMG! LOOK! Disney B****** won!" So, to keep things clean, I decided not to post the original title. I'm sure all of you older deviants know what word I'm referring to. :wink:

Anyway...~blastedgoose asked if it would be alright to change Hades gender for her entry. So, with my tips in mind, I accepted her idea and let her take complete control of her deviation. What started as an art jam entry soon blossomed into a full fledged series, in which a Disney (Male) villain is magically transformed into a lady. Ooooo.

I like the addition of Cerberus into the deviation as well. It flows nicely with the whole villain theme. I didn't know what to think at first when she mentioned that she'd be drawing Hades as a woman, but the result is great. I can't wait to see the other female renditions of other famous Disney villains. Congrats, ~blastedgoose

So, like I promised, both deviants will have the opportunity to think up anything as a FREE sketch. Since there were only two entries, I will have more time to color these sketches too. Oooo....

What better way to start off 2009 than to host my very own and very first art jam. I’ve seen hundreds of art jams pass me by through the last couple of years and was never really interested in them until I participated in one.

Now I’ve decided to host my own, which I’m sure that with a little dA “advertisting” I can have a decent art jam that I’m sure everyone would love to participate in.

Ok. So I’m sure you’re dying to find out what the subject is since art jams involve some sort of theme or character. I’ve decided, and this is after some extensive, hardcore thinking, that Hades will be the first victim in my art jam.

Yes, that’s right….Hades, Lord of the Underworld, bringer of darkness, destroyer of light and collector of souls. Dunn dunn duuuunnnnn.

But there is a catch. It’s Disney’s Hercules version of Hades, not the actual god of Greek Mythology books and long, boring educational programs. It’s the blue flame headed, long faced, ill tempered villain that we not only seen in Hercules but have battled in Kingdom Hearts. Oooo.

This art jam will be presented into two parts.

The first part is simple. Everyone that submits something into the art jam will be featured in the Art Jam journal.

Then after some considerable thinking and with the help of some friends, I’ll choose five deviations submitted into the art jam that will be featured within my regular journal itself. The five deviants chosen will then get a FREE drawing done by me of any character they choose, Disney or otherwise.

It is up to those five deviants whether they want a digital copy of the drawing or an actual printed version. Since it is free, I won’t be asking anything for postage for regular mail. I’ll do all of that myself. Once chosen, I will contact the five deviants via note for any additional information.

In attempts to pick myself up a massive box of Legos after the holidays, my boyfriend failed to mention that he already had a vast collection of Legos himself. He did tell me he had them way before I already decided I needed some, but somehow my little brain crapped out a horrible bubble and made me forget.

He never told me how many Legos he had, so when he pulled out two full boxes from his over stuffed closet I was in such awe that I couldn't even speak. So now I'm left with two boxes to sort through that he's had since he was a kid. I've even seen some well used Lincoln Logs within the wide collection of other, non-Lego pieces. I'm sure I can find convenient ways to store them than the decrepit old cardboard box that they're in now.

That's not really what I'm desperately concerned about though. My question is what category do you submit the so-called Lego Art into? I'm sure many different deviants over the years have shared their Lego creations or mosaics or whatever, but where did they put them? I'm not the type of person to go and submit deviations in random categories. I like to be sure that I'm uploading it in the appropriate gallery just so that I don't get that famed message from the dA staff, informing me that one of my deviations has been moved to its "correct" location. That's only actually happened to me once, really. I didn't mind it either. I know they're just doing their job into ensuring that deviations are correctly categorized. Just like them, us book clerks work under the same agonizing pressure of "the system".

What I'm really getting at though is that at some point in my deviantArt existence, I'll be submitting pictures of some of my own Lego creations. I'm sure I'll go through about 100 different Lego models or whatever before actually submitting pictures. It's something I'm sure won't last forever, so you can still look forward to sketches and the like.

Heck, I might even take a break and submit something into another contest which is something I've been dying to do since the Design the Dew contest. I'm still looking for art jams too and am highly considering doing one of my own.

As of now, all answers pertaining to where Lego art should go would be greatly, if not deeply, appreciated. I'm sure this brain of mine won't be able to comprehend the massive amounts of categories and sub-categories I have to go through in order to reach the desired destination.

And I'm pretty sure it's the obvious place, I just really, really want to stick my hand in that Lego box and build something. I guess that means internet laziness has got the best of me.

I can't believe that it's Christmas already. Time certainly does fly, doesn't it? Goodness, I don't quite feel ready for the holidays for some reason, maybe it was was because of me moving out here to Georgia. I just totally lost track of time, it seems.

Since the dawn of time, mankind has given us golden opportunities that make our world a better, more reliable place to live. It has, with the help of thousands of other, more gifted humans, bestowed upon our bosoms the one, dire necessity in which all we other, less technological-gifted humans ultimately posses for the rest of our humble lives.

If it wasn't for the internet, I wouldn't have been able to enjoy the comforts of deviantArt and I certainly wouldn't be able to do what I am about to tell you (it makes it a tad bit easier to share the story rather than give you the link that you all desire).

So, it happened like this...

My boyfriend was given an XBox 360 the other day by one of his friends. His friend also made a deal; if my boyfriend could fix it, he could keep it. A FREE XBox?! Heck yeah, he took the offer. After a few days of leaving it to collect dust he finally brought it into fresh air to see what was really wrong with it. Carefully taking it apart, he made sure it was all clean inside, before putting it back together, sans the pretty white casing. He plugged it in and to his disappointment, he was presented with the fearful Red Ring of Death. Dun dun duuunnnn. (I won't explain the whole Red Ring of Death thing. For you PC/Windows users, who don't possess an XBox, it's similar to that Blue Screen of Death, Microsoft's so-called safety feature. So, Google "Red Ring of Doom/Death to learn more.)

Rather than toss the box, we went online in search of hopeful news that it could be fixed. Luckily, we found a few but were then told that the famous "towel trick" was pointless and could possibly start dangerous fire hazards. So, that's when I took over. I grabbed the keyboard and began searching, desperatly trying to find something that was both easy and less expensive than sending it out to Microsoft itself. That'll cost you about $200 and you're without your precious XBox for up to 8 weeks. Ouch.

Anyway, I came across this one link and it had step by step instructions AND pictures to help solve the problem. We only got so far because we need some extra tools; screws, nuts and washers. But the overall instructions were very helpful. I also took time to browse the rest of the site to see what sort of things to offer. They have everything from Art to Cooking, Games and other stuff.

It's AMAZING!!

Well, I opened another account here on deviantArt, strictly for business type purposes only.

My boyfriend, ~Daren-Knight and I are looking into going into our own design-type business some time in the near future. (let's hope the economy is much better by then)

So, to start things off, I started another account, [link] The name of the soon-to-be company hasn't really been brought up yet, so the name you see on the new account is something I've had in my books for awhile. It's just one of those first step kind of things, you know?

There's nothing on there yet. I haven't created a logo type thing or whatever and I'm still working on my Wordans account as well.

I will certainly entertain you all with this account, it's just that I feel I can be more "professional" if I had a separate account. That's all.
