Early on next month we're getting the internet back, which is awesome.

De-Construction has finished, D.A admins have removed a lot of them so, yeah. I'm not allowed to post them any more. Ah well, I had a good run.

Left 4 Dead 2 was... No where near as shit as I expected. Groovy!

wib has gone to get milk from the shop with my father.

I beat a witch to near-death with a guitar recently-- was pretty cool.

We have a gig tomorrow. So, yay.

and I are moving house on the first of September, so it's been crazy.

My parents phoned our hotel when we were in Seattle and said "Hey, do you want our old house? We're moving out." so we accepted. Off the plane and discussing moving house.

We had a viewing yesterday-- which was awkward. But yeah, My parents are moving into their new house on the first too. It's just a few doors up from their old one and our (soon to be) old house is just a few doors down from my parents (soon to be) old house. Confused yet?

My parents old house is bigger than our current place of residence; we'd pay less for rent etc, so it's a good idea.

It's like we're shuffling gradually up the street, one house at a time.

Jesus Christ that was amazing. My favourite was a 9mm Smith and Wesson M& pistol with a grip sensitive laser sight. Oh God that pistol was a beaut. wib's favourite was the first gun we fired with was a .22 Smith and Wesson revolver with a 6 inch barrel. It was sweet, nice long barrel, held 10 rounds.

We fired a couple of Berrettas and a Glock too. The Glock 17 (9mm)was a bit temperamental, The slide snapped back when you fired it so you had to keep your thumbs out of its way. After the first couple of shots wib fired, it jammed on him.

We only fired a couple of .22 pistols, The Smith & Wesson revolver and a funky looking Beretta Neos which the guy at the range referred to as the 'Space Gun'. It was quite a cute little thing-- we could fit about 10 .22 rounds in it.

Moving up from a .22 to a 9mm was quite a jump in recoil. 9mms pack one hell of a punch and have a visible muzzle flash from the shooters perspective, whereas .22s had little recoil and barely noticeable flash from the shooters view.

Fired 2 .22 rifles too, one scoped and one un-scoped. They were sweet too. SEmi-auto with a 10 round box. They were gorgeous! We found out that wib is a master of the iron sights, whereas I can use a scope better. I'm jealous of his skill

We went to the Popcap offices on the third day, They were amazing. They had an office dog who hated plushie Chuzzles. wib told Stephen Notley that he was in love with him and as a result, Mr. Notley gave him 4 Bob The Angry Flower books. Which was really nice of him.

Unfortunately, we were unable to locate any Fruit Loops... We searched the surrounding area and the stores that would've sold them, but to no avail. We saw a small set of multi-pack cereal with a packet in it but it was like $6 for one serving of Fruit Loops. My parents neighbour said she'd bring some back for us because she's going to Texas soon so fingers crossed!

All in all, Seattle was a great trip, but it's good to be home!

wib & I got Guitar Hero III a couple of days ago. It's pretty cool.

A good few of the old characters are back, like Judy Nails, Johnny Napalm, Xavier Stone etc. The game play is pretty much the same. You can now have battles where you and the CPU or a friend can go head to head with a song. Instead of Star Power you get attacks. Like an Amp over load or a broken string. There are no points involved in a battle, you have to make your opponent suck, essentially.

The graphics are a bit iffy and it's all to obvious that the 3D modelers had no idea wen it came to caricatures. The lead singer looks like a frog type mutant. and the drummer's animation loops are simply awful. Apart from the singer, drummer and a small hint of disproportion on Slash, no body els in the game is really stylized. Which kind of puts you off a bit.

When it comes to the difficulty of songs, you've got the usual: Easy, medium, hard and expert. On the previous installments, Hard was a challenge but do-able. Expert (for me) was ok until I got to the last few sets. On GH3 The songs are a lot harder.

The vague attempt at a storyline is also quite amusing. During Co-op career mode, your drummer and singer fall out. During solo career, they don't. Compelling. But in all seriousness I have no problem with the little cartoon FMV sequences. They're well drawn and look snazzy.

Harmonics had left the Guitar hero franchise for Activision and Neversoft to go and work on Rock band. Harmonics are all musicians, whereas Activision and Neversoft... Don't seem to be. Being a musician myself, I understand a certain structure, like chords (-vaguely)and what would come next for finger patters etc. In GH1 and 2, you couldn't keep your finger on more than one fret it there was a chord. (I'm a bass player- no chords) On GH3 you can which I think is a nice change.

So all in all, a few minor problems with it, but it's a good game. So if you get the chance, give it a go.

I'm not being nasty if your character isn't in it much, I it's usually because I don't know too much about them and I have a lot of other character too. So please, please, please don't think I'm being mean!

Also I think it's easier if my fan-fiction is thought of as... well it's not completely within continuity with everyone else's. So think of it as New X-men/Essential X-men. Same people different stories etc.

Well.. Kind of. Well it seems that it wasn't the monitor that blew. It was our graphics card. It is easily remedied, my mother and fatehr have loaned us one of their spare ones. Which rules. The only problem is no TF2 on our machine for a few days. But that's ok because my dad's got it

It's a bit laggy, but it's gorgeous. And We can go over and play it during the day. So it's all good!
