Did you see!? Three Deviation in under a day!

Um, mind you, I photoshopped the two Pokemon sets while I was sick, and just finished coloring the comic after work Saturday afternoon.

I'm not doing a heck of a lot of video game playing right now...taking a few shots at a time at Brutal Legend (it's always the infernal driving missions! If it's not escorting a bus through narrow canyons it's trying to capture fire-breathing monsters before they blow up your motorcycle!). Though, I must say, one of the driving parts is awesome. You're escaping Lyonwhite's Pleasure dome, as these big un-killable monsters, the Bleeding Death, tear the place apart. So you're driving through this collapsing palace, dodging debris and monsters, with the insanely awesome "Through The Fire And Flames" by DragonForce blasting. Intense stuff...I bet it'd even be a bigger rush if one was highly caffeinated at the time.

Anyway, with games caught up, and my book-reading and DVD-watching caught up (well, until Tuesday), it frees up time for me to actually so some art. More comics hopefully, and I was thinking about doing some more remix art. I really do want to get around to doing a decent Dragon Ball Saga art remix...I have some awesome plans for Frieza and crew. I also did do other Super Mario designs beyond Mario himself...the first drawing I did of Bowser looked really fierce!

I don't think people really enjoy the scale, size-wise, of the Super Mario Bros. world/the Mushroom kingdom. When you start the game as Mario or Luigi, you're normal human size. I'd say Mario would be in the 5'8"-5'10" range, with Luigi closer to like 6' tall. The Magic Mushroom doubles your size, so Super Mario and Luigi would be like 111 6" and 12' tall respectively. Then you have Bowser, who is like nearly double that height, putting him at over 20 feet tall!

I have similar theories on the Zelda pantheon, but due to endless variant timelines/universes, it might be a while until I tackle that. I have some neat ideas for the adult Link, and I'm talking beyond :icongenzoman: 's version ( [link] ) or the bitter, goatee-sporting police chief from "There Will Be Brawl"

However, one of these days I want to get another of the big (2000) piece sets of Pixel Blocks...I'll finally have enough of the secondary colors to do larger human sprites, including the Dragonball Z characters! I also have ideas for building 3D sprites of Mario and Link, amongst others...only time will tell if/when these happen!

Mind you, I just got Brutal Legend today, so that's going to be eating up some of my time soon LOL

Anyway, I was on Bulbapedia and hit pay-dirt. The downside is I have to go through the page for EVERY 4th Generation Pokemon individually and open up a gallery sub-page for each sprite. I hope to work on getting these pictures as much as possible each day, then slowly build the sprites for them. The whole thing is pretty much an epic task anyway, so it;s not like I;m in a rush to finish.

I was going to work on art today, but I end up sleeping a lot on Sundays. At least with al the other sprites done I have more time to concentrate on other art. I'm doing a birthday picture for a friend, then I'm looking to dive right back into my comic ;)

Dear Nintendo...

You are evil. More so than before. Yes, we have to wait until next year for the DS versions of 2nd Generation Pokemon (Heart Gold and Soul Silver). So what do you do? Release another awesome monster catching/battling game, though it has more of as Digimon World feel than Pokemon. This game would be Fossil Fighters. Amazon teased me into ordering it through GameStop, and now I love this game.

Unlike other games, there is less of a random battle/grind mechanic to the game. You explore fields with a sonar device, locating fossils that you later (carefully) clean up, which are later brought back to life. Now, you just need the head fossil to do so, and gain a few points from battles you participate in to help level up. By finding the other parts for each critter ("Vivosaurs"), you get a few levels and significant stat/ability boosts. There are like 100 to collect apparently, from real dinosaurs to ones that may or may not be a bit more made-up. But they're cool-looking and colorful.

You don't trade Vivosaurs with friends....you can, however, shoot them extra fossils out of a cannon LOL. I've also been playing Fable 2 again, having gotten the second DLC update pack. Nothing too amazing so far, though I am looking forward to getting the chicken outfit.

Been actually working on the next comic (Finally)...should bee up in a few days, depending on how hectic the work week is. BTW, anime to see: "Baccano" It's awesome, about prohibition-era New York gangsters...and some of them happen to be immortal...

I just checked and I'm at over 5,000 Hits now! And...nobody caught it. Not that I have a ton of subscribers. Well, I have a decent amount but only a few of them actually check out my art and journals and stuff.

Alas, I have not drawn in like a week and a half, two weeks now. Just haven't had the urge. I am getting ideas, it's just getting around yo actually implementing them. I have a lot of ideas, for example, for "PokeBeasts", my Pokemon/Transformers crossover. Also, as always, have ideas for the comic, but then again it's just me getting around to them. I've actually gotten back into putting together more Pokemon with Pixel Blocks...heck, I have tons of images on my computer that just need to be Photoshopped together.

It's kind of a health double-hit. For one is the tendency to nap every day, as is a result of Cymbalta. Now, though, for the last month or so I have been having trouble with my left heel. "Plantar Fasciitis" is what my doctor is guessing...to sum it up, any time I have my foot elevated and then step back down, it hurts like heck. Especially when getting out of bed or getting up from my comfy chair. And lemme tell ya, 8-hour shifts at work on my feet or 4-5 mile walking trips to shop aren't exactly helping the matter.

Also, I'm working on getting some stuff out of the way. Finally down to just one DVD set to finish watching; the third box set of Bleach. As for the addictive evil what is Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2, well, I finally got all the licenses! Just need to unlock 2 more pilots and I should be satisfied. Mind you, I just picked up one of the nice Street Fighter 4 fight-pads today along with Blazblue, so I'm still screwed game-wise. Plus Batman; Arkham Asylum comes soon and that's been pre-ordered for me by a friend. Gotta tell him to pre-order me Brutal Legend, which comes out the week after my birthday!

BTW...there's a new Three Kingdoms anime out!? And Cao Cao is the hero in it!? PLUS in Japan there's special DW6 downloadable content that will be tied into the anime!? WTF? Funny as I traded a bunch of games in so I could get BlazBlue today, amongst them DW6, and got pretty much shafted by GameStop. From now on, I'm just re-selling through eBay. ;)

So...after all these years and Deviations, I'm within three dozen hits away from hitting 5,000 hits! So, if someone somehow is able to get-and-screen cap this little event, they get up to TWO requests! Normally I'd say one, as I do requests anyway...but in this case I'm allowing for a GoGoPet design plus another pic if desired.

I know I haven't been uber-active as of late, just have not been in a drawing mood. Thinking of doing some re-designing for the comic, but not totally sure on that as of yet. I've done a few sketches for a Pokemon/Transformers (Beast Wars!?) crossover series, and I have to say Optimus Primal looks pretty cool so far :)

Otherwise, my life continues to be ruled by all things Gundam. Just finished the 1/144 scale Legend Gundam model kit, still plugging away at Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2 (must unlock everything/get achievements!), and am watching like 3 diff. anime! Just watched the first 2-disc set of 00, was watching first season of G, and just started watching the first half of Seed again...(Got an Anime Legends set online, 2nd disc didn't play, so I just got the replacement set and am watching it to make sure it all works...)

3 years ago today I came up with the idea of the GoGoPets and comics, and the first of them I made up was little Pinkle herself. Just don't have time (or ideas) to do a picture for the occasion this year, but if anyone wants to do a fan art they could win a (small?) prize!?

I decided to work on a movie-style TransForce Bumblebee, and so far the pencils don't look too bad. It's going to be a question of how it will look when finished, like what I want to translate how, as it's won't be as much battle armor as it would be a spandex-type deal...

I have a lot of ideas for some one-shot comics I'm going to work on, as I also want to do some other art...but what would people rather see?

I was thinking, with the movie coming out a week from today, on doing more of my "Transforce" Transformers-As-Super Heroes/Villains art, but based off of the movie designs as opposed to animation. They could be rather interesting with piecemeal armor/color patches.

On the other hand, on a few occasions I've attempted to visualize Pokemon in a somewhat more realistic form. I did a few pictures in my sketchbook once (with mixed success) and recently slightly altered Onix in a picture.

I'd like to do either, but would rather concentrate on doing a few of one type to intermix with the comics as opposed to both.

Oh, and let's see how this journal skin thing works out...

I do have ideas in the works. For the comic I have a few more strips to do for the Bamboo and Pocus arc (Contest is still open...winner gets a year's dA Subscription!...if I get a winner...), plus I've had some ideas for some really cute Pinklet stories. Next task, though, is going to be a remix piece of Gaara from Naruto. I've come up with some ideas to make him kind of scary, and mind you these are ninja without the super-powers, which makes it interesting. ;)

I'm happy I'm actually getting around to doing some art this year. I've actually been fairly motivated to do so, but I must remember to TRY and cut down on pizza and do a wee bit more (regular) exercise. Walking everywhere just doesn't cut it like it used to. I'm trying update like : comic-comic-other. So, you get two comics, then a stand-alone piece, more often than not. Birthday presents and holiday pics don't always count.

I admit, I've been a little delayed thanks to DVDs and video games. I got the third season of Venture Brothers in recently, and that's after having the second season of Black Lagoon to watch. Plus the second/last season of Freakazoid came out, so that;s something else to pick up in the near future.

Then there is the distraction what is Gundam. I'm going to try and take time off from model kits, just so I can get other stuff done. I finished up "The O" recently, and, well, its crotch-area is too big for Bandai's Action base display stands, so it just has to stand there on my shelf, looking big, fat, and yellow. On top of that, Dynasty warriors: Gundam 2 came out today and so far it's quite awesome.

Oh, an I got a Monkey Bread! I was gonna take a photo, but it kinda falls apart easy when trying to remove it from the heating tray it comes in. But it is cinnamon-covered yumminess.

Also, I've been watching anime, between rentals and picking up the thin-pack set of Pani Poni Dash (Darned Funimation didn't import the ADV Vid-Notes I was looking forward to reading...). Also, I wanted to get a model finished, the beautiful High Grade Universal Century Sazabi from "Nu Gundam: Char's Counterattack". Then, silly me, I just ordered (and got in) the next kit I wanted, The O from "Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam".

Actually, I've drawn and inked a piece of fan art, I just need to get it colored...it's another remix from Naruto. I also have lots of ideas for upcoming comics, so don't despair :)

I have lots of pixel sculpts from Pokemon to edit together in Photoshop....it's just a question of getting off my butt and doing it...darned winter weather slows me down to a near-hibernation state....well...more than normal LOL

I also have another picture to color, and ideas for more comics and remix drawings. It's just getting around to it...naps and Fable 2 seem to have taken away all my free time. Hopefully I can draw up (at least) a quick Pinkle Christmas picture within the next few days!

1. Fish freak me out. Ever since I almost drowned at summer camp and saw a catfish someone had caught, alive and in a bucket later on the bus, I've always had a quasi-fear of them.
2. I was elected to both homecoming and prom courts in high school, even though I didn't want to attend the dances for either (I just liked drawing/decorating for my classmates)
3. It's been almost 20 years since I've gone swimming. And I LOVED to swim.
4. I have a skewed view on religion. Theology fascinates me, as I'm currently agnostic (former Catholic, and wasn't one by choice) As far as I can tell the biblical God is/was a humanoid alien who had the ability to create planets and life. Then again, I just saw Spriggan again, which explains A LOT of why I may think that.
5. I have a very limited palate...I only eat a certain amount of kinds of foods. Due to a genetic trait with sensitive taste buds, I acquired tastes for the foods I ate at my babysitter's house growing up and for the most part have no interest in most foods. In other words, I was raised to be a picky eater LOL
6. I'm allergic to cats, but love being around them. I've never actually had an allergic reaction to them that I can recall.
7. I don't care for alcohol. I can't have any now due to a medication I'm on, but previously I haven't found much that interested me. Most of it tastes horrible, and all it does is make me a little dizzy, give me a headache, and or make my chest feel hot. Never had enough to be drunk.

I'm not quite sure what I'll be working on next. If I hear from people wanting me to do the others, I can (characters must be specifically requested, though)...heck, I've even made a way of making it so Chibi Moon won't suck, as I really detested the character when I used to watch the show all those years ago.

More Pinkle comics will be on the way...I have lots of ideas, it's just getting around to doing them that's the trouble.

Also, I've been considering working on more TransForce pics...again, I'm more than happy to do requests...which goes for other cartoon/anime characters to remix as well.

One idea I did have was doing a re-imagining of Star Wars, with a more anime/manga influence, and just having a good time with it. This includes making it so the lame parts of the prequels can be reconfigured into potential awesomeness.

-GoFormers...I did one of these for, with little plushie/GoGoPet-style Transformers, and could do lots more.

-PokeFormers-A hybrid of Transformers and Pokemon

-Pokemon...GoGoPets style! I thought it might be fun to do these, especially after doing Torchic in this style a while back in one of the comics. I could even do requests (Pokemon using certain moves, wearing/using certain items, etc...)

Funny thing is, I got almost 50 hits tonight alone, from posting those last two Sailor Scouts and the new comic.

I'm not quite sure who I'll build next. I just got a sweet sprite set of Bowser from Super Mario Bros. 3, plus I still have a lot of enemy sprites from the Zelda games to do one of these days. Obviously I still want to do more of the larger Mega Man enemies (and more of the small ones too LOL), plus those Japanese Beast Wars ones... ;)

While those Final Fantasy sprites turned out nice, I was a few pieces short for certain characters...in this case, the Monk. I tried tackling some sprites from Beast Wars Duel, a GameBoy Color game from Japan, but ran out of black pieces...and this is after getting 125 extras in an additional set! I was planning on doing some recoloring, to make the black and white (plus one color per character) sprites more show/toy accurate. Even if I did so, I wouldn't have enough pieces with my current sets.

So, I'm going to tackle some classic Nintendo characters, doing some recoloring as needed, seeing as most old sprites were about three or four colors each.

I also am planning on trying out a regular (digital) Pixel ID, for which I found a sprite set from the awesome River City Ransom to blow up and color ;)

I know I haven't been Deviating much, but this should change soon. I intend to work on the comic strip, though I am going to be starting over. Again. I've had some trouble figuring out what exactly I want to do with the strip. Reading some other webcomics have helped me, luckily. I'm going to be using elements from both former strips ("MonkeyMonkeyGoGo AND Go Pinkle Go) as the basis for MonkeyGo!, which is the intended name of this new comic, and yes is the name of the toy store from the original strip. Here's hoping it works out!

Pinkle, the actual plush that I commissioned, is complete! And she's adorable...I'm just waiting for her to arrive now! Once I get her, expect at least one photo for a DeviantID, probably with me reading a book to my little monkey while seated in my chair of evil!!!

Now, in the (more or less) middle of my living room is this nice sage green rocking recliner. It's pretty plush, especially the arm rests. I remember that trying the mocha-colored one in the store it was like settling into the lap of a giant teddy bear. When my commissioned Pinkle plush comes in, I want to take a new Deviant ID photo of me and her in the chair, with like me reading a book to/with her. Probably "Monkey: A Journey West" ;)

I've been a bit distracted from my art recently by a few Gundam models I'd picked up online, but am working on more stuff. I have the designs down for the next T-Force character, and really just have to draw the final version of it. This time it's a version of Megatron I'm tackling, re-named Megaton with a faction known as the D-Clan.

The last comic I posted was the first drawing in my newest sketchbook. I have to be careful when erasing the pencils, as the paper is thinner/lighter than the near-cardstock/bristol board of the last book. This is especially true for the darker pencils, as the marks are a lot harder to erase now...luckily the book is thick enough to scan easier than the old one did!

After finishing my current model, the Gundam Virtue, I plan on getting around to working on the mini-size Munny toy I bought a while back. Probably gonna paint it to look like me, therefore msking it a "Munny-Me" LOL

So, I'm thinking about what I should draw in the mean time. I've been considering doing this T-Force thing, which would be a total re-working of my TransForce concept, now with bios, stats, and powers for the characters. The thing is, any time I've mentioned it, I've heard no responses.

I've also considered drawing fan-made characters for Transformers, except I'm not that good at drawing robots...as anyone could tell from how I draw humans.

I've also been thinking about doing more "remix" art. ears ago I thought of a cool new way to re-invent Sailor Moon, but I'm not sure if anyone would be interested in seeing such art. My idea is to eliminate some of the sillier/campier elements and just make it cool. I'd also get to show my interpretation of how different the girls SHOULD look (in my eyes) before and after transformation. Got some neat ideas for Tuxedo Kamen/Mask as well ;)

I'm working on the first TransForce picture in what seems like ages...and one from the Michael Bay movie, at that!

I'm planning on alternating comics and other art...I've actually been thinking about doing that Evangeline vs. Voldemort picture some more. I've been reading the fourth Harry Potter book these past few weeks while at the laundromat, plus I did another sketch of young Tom Riddle at work today in my usual cartoon style. Might be a ways away, but it is definitely something I want to do.

Now, I'm also a big Negima fan. Thanks to the way time gets distorted with comics and their schedules, the story there take place about three years ago.

So, I'm thinking about crossing over the two licenses, fanart style, with some fanfiction to go with them. Voldemort came to be starting in the early 1940's, and Dark Evangeline was wandering around causing terror at the time...it might be fun to see the to-be dark lord encountering a mage much, much more powerful than him. Flash forward to the events of Negima...the intrepid trio from Hogwart's traveling the world, and hearing of Mahora, a huge city/school with a long history of magic. Mind you, Ginny could be traveling with them as well by then, and encountering Negi and his class could be a lot of fun. Plus, we could see other characters who don't get enough time, like Snape and James Potter I's class, in their youthful prime, encountering Nagi Springfield and/or his various companions.

I shudder to think how fast Professor Takahata would take down the quartet, now that I think of it... ;)

The comic is kind of on hiatus for now, as I have no idea what I want to do with it. I have ideas for storylines and stuff, but the motivation and ideas for the next strip itself are escaping me for the time being.

I'm also feeling darned icky...some kinda weird sinus problem or something, which i've complained about enough on my journal on Gaia Online and in my blog on MySpace. Let;s just say i'm getting tired of doctors taking guesses and ready to be examined and diagnosed, then treated so I can breathe normally again. There's just something wrong with my head and too much medical inadequacy around here... :(

I've had several pics partly ready...the next MonkeyMonkeyGoGo had been scanned and partly colored, plus I did a drawing as a sort-of Christmas card featuring much of the comic's cast. I'll probably upload it for the weekend, albeit in but its bare inks form.

Thing is, I've been feling kind of blah. The medicine I'm on for what is being guessed as anxiety has given me all kinds of icky side effects, and I think I'm getting either an ear or sinus infection, in part thanks to the unstable weather of the changing seasons. I really want to work on MonkeyMonkeyGoGo more than anything, so the TransForce stuff is probably gonna be on the back burner for a while. Though I do know I have to pick up a new Micron pen or two, because when I was working on the second comic the straight lines were faded a lot. Had to re-do a lot of them when I was doing the digital coloring.

Please, I need some input on the MMGG comics. I'm not sure how to attract people to my gallery. I'm envious of other Deviants who have single pieces that have attratced dozens of comments or more for just that piece. I realize I'm no uber-artist...this is a hobby, and my cartooning is donw for fun.

I'd love people to suggest more TransForce characters for me to draw. Heck, I want the nine I've drawn to get seen. I have a link on my Gaia Online signature(SN is Knightraven over there ;) ), but that's about it. I was considering hitting one of the Transformers fan communities, but I don't know which one to go to post my art and my fanfic ideas.

Maybe I will turn to working on my Oi characters. I mean, I've finished readiing the books I've had to read(FINALLY!)...I want to re-read what I've written of the second Avatars story, so I can finally finish it. The audio versions of all the Discworld novels, except for the newest, "Thud!", but including "Wee Free Men" and "Hat Full of Sky", on two DVD-ROMs. He even included the complete soundtrack to the Lord of the Rings movies, even though I have all three of them on CD already.

I'm not very big on how Stephen Briggs pronounces colon, or more specifically Colon(us: Coal-Unn; Him: Cull-Own). Since Colon is the name of a somewhat important character in the novels, it sounds kinda odd. So, I tried it. One problem is my scanner does either 300 or 150 dps scanning, nothing more. Second, I have no bloody idea how to color using chanels...I have enough trouble with layers the way it is LOL

Rotten thing is I tried scanning two pics in this way, so I had to delete the pics and will have to scan them. Again. Arrgh. There goes submitting any new coomics tonight. I have no desire to do in-depth studies of human anatomy...this is just a hobby, not a career. On the other hand, I'd love to draw nice pictures of characters I've written about. I've written novellas and short story anthologies. I want to draw Aerial and her crew from the book of the same name. I'd love to tackle the fantasy heroes and other dramatis personae from the world of Oi. I'm still debating on if I'm gonna upload the regular Diamond Funnies or not. My currrent project has me busy...my plate'll be a little emptier when I'm done reading Christopher Lee's autobiography, but that's a way to go. The current project, s I just mentioned, is TransForce, an idea I've been kicking around for a few years in my sketchbooks. It takes Transformers, the G1 versions, and crosses it with Power Rangers in a way. A person finds a Spark Crystal and gets merged with/possessed by the spirit of a Transformers character. They turn into a superhero/villain typw with the TF's abilities and names, with a costume based off that character's design. I'm working on Starscream currently, and HER costume is a bit skimpy...but hey, I'm a single guy. Also, I try to keep busy. Haven't been exercising as much as I'd like, partly due to the weather, partly due to that I was unable to exercise last month due to injuring my back and neck(on separate occasions). I'm alternating between two video games, Dynasty Warriors 5XL and Dragon Quest 8, and not getting too far in the latter. I want to work on some more art, but some digital coloring takes forever...I use Photoshop but as I scan pics from my books it's hard to color with the backgrounds in the way. My only other option is to digitally re-ink, which is hard with a 1 1/2" x 2" touch pad LOL

Man, I need to shop soon. Groceries for one part, but Xmas gifts as well. Goit my mom's gift ordered, and gifts for my friends Corey and L-chan should be arriving any day now. My brother and dad are left...neither should be TOO hard, but sometimes it's hard to guess. I also woke up from an odd dream this mornign, having an anxiety/sinus attack...thing. I had a few of these when I was on vacation this past spring. I though, for the longest time, something really serious was wrong with my head. Eventually the many doctors at the hospital let me have a CAT scan done...all that was found, luckily, was a sinus infection.

Well, I've been having my annual sinus infection signs for a few days now...then suddenly I get hit with this again. Thought I was finally done coughing crap up, but my throat still bothers me. Also, I get this headache/dizzzy feeling that lingers for a while...and that's been hitting me for the better part of the past hour...sigh...I just want to be "well" ]]> *Snukastyle
