Written by Brian Daniel and illustrated by ~Anivasion, Coming Up Violet - or CUV - is a high-school-slice-of-life anthro (or furry, but I don't really like that term) comic. It follows the life of a squirrel named Violet, her wacky family and friends, and a conflicted love interest. If you're thinking it's cliche of a HS-slice-of-life, I wouldn't know because I can't seem to find many more (they're my guilty pleasure >:})...But I know that even if it was/is, it's funny and cute and it has both a handsome wolf with a Gollum-like dialect and a nerdy, sarcastic platypus; hard to resist, right?

1) Since it is summer, you should now be getting lots more drawings and, at least, some more refined and colored ones, since I have more time and the ability to stay up until the wee hours of the morning.

2) However the above statement does not apply until Friday of this week because I'm going on a vacation tomorrow (getting up at 8 AM wtf) and won't be able to upload anything before that.

3) I am THIIIS close to being able to foster kittens this summer. THIIIIIIIIS close. It all depends on my report card, which has not come yet and needs to, REALLY REALLY bad. So, this doesn't really have to do with anything except I felt like sharing and you might want to cover your ears because I'm sure that no matter where in the world you live, you will either be able to hear my squeal of joy or my yell of anguish!

why take a summer workshop (GOD I HATE THOSE THINGS) like my grandparents say, when i could spend a couple of months raising wonderful perfectly innocent kittens? why is this not considered an important life skill? kittens are like relaxation (well, sometimes) and fun (definitely) and is that not what summer is about? there is a shortage of foster parents at the shelter, why not do my part especially in kitten season?

why is my mother determined to thwart this lovely dream of mine?

(she says that i should give up my computer for the summer if i foster a pregnant momcat soon to be a litter of kittens. that's like saying i should give up my life if i want to do this...which i would, but still. XD)

They are like people, you can put clothes on them and make them go to high school and draw them in awesome poses although I never do.
You can also make them your favorite animal or the one you find easiest to draw and they can still be interesting and different! Also, if you FAIL at human faces, such as I...ITS HEAVEN

Anyway, so I just got back from my journalism class in which I designed both a cover and a spread! I personally think they're pretty nifty-looking. I felt like a newspaper groupie since I like stayed after school and worked on it with the editors...lol.

Meanwhile, we got our ballots for next year and I am not taking Journalism. It's fun but doing it for 3 years...I really want to do art, or stagecraft, but the people who end up choosing my electives seem to think that this is illegal.

OH MY JEEBUS, I am so glad the holidays are over. They were fun while they lasted, but i heard about one too many christmas songs and saw a few too many relatives.

I'm having trouble in one of my classes and I'm hoping on Monday that they'll let me switch out, it's an elective that they put me in and it wasnt even on my top 5 choices WUT.

I've been dealing with this class for three months now and finally I am just like DONE with it xP

Plus, going back to school and entering high school has really been taking its toll xD and that sounds dramatic but honestly...Lately I've been going to bed extra-early but often times I only get like 6 hours of sleep a night and so I am really, really tired. I don't remember the last time I stayed up until twelve.

NOT TO MENTION THAT...

I have no idea what the fudgesicle I want for Christmas. It's coming up, people! lol. But I'm going to have to think of something or else I won't get anything XD

...i've also been longing to get a kitten. It's been years (four, approximately) since I have owned a kitten and now my kitten is a cat and he is still the cutest thing in the entire earth BUT I miss having a kitten kitten.

But then, I don't want to make my cat jealous. And I don't want to stop loving him so much.

...I don't know, I compare it to having a boyfriend and not wanting to become just friends with another guy cause you don't want to develop feelings for the guy and/or make your boyfriend jealous.

At least thats what I compare it to.

Yesterday apparently my grandparents got a phone call that one of their friends' daughter committed suicide. She was in college. We hadn't been very close recently but a few years ago we were, so this was pretty sad news to me. They'd been having a hard time these past couple of years. She was their only daughter and we're all extremely sad. I'll be dedicating something to her soon, and I ask you all to wish her family well.

The only thing troubling me right now is how many books I'm reading. I have like thousands (maybe not, but at least ten or more) books that are sitting on my desk, waiting to be read, and I've started at least five of them but I'm getting nowhere because I just sort of alternate between one and the other.

THEN on Friday I got some mangas at Barnes and Noble (Borders is better for manga, but we were at B&N anyway) and one was Zombie Powder, done by Tite Kubo. Needless (or is it) to say....

AAACK. I was inspired. And ever since I read the first volume last night I have been drawing and doodling and stuff NON-STOP

it's ridiculous. soon i will be buried.
