But if I put in a poll a "Maybe" or a "Depends" in a poll with something like "elaborate" or "why" next to it, it really does bug me if no one gives a reason. Or says why. Like in my Tutorial poll, I put a Other in there and only one person who voted for that said their other option. If you don't have a reason to not be undecided or aren't willing to say why you're undecided, take a side. It's really not that hard.

I made a different one earlier which was basically just a flash application. And the space on it was small so I wanted to make a different one so I could go into detail about things. So I might cancel the one I made on Wix. But I like this one. There's some details that I still need to fill in but the basics in commission information, status, and a gallery is set up there. Secondly...(and this part get's slightly personal and is a bit random since I haven't posted a journal here in such a long time...If you're not for a conversation on religion/spirituality you may want to avoid this part...Also, if you are very Christian you can do your best to convince me that Christianity is better than all other religions but you'll fail miserably if you end up saying the wrong thing...choose your words carefully now.)

So...

I've seriously had problems with Christianity for a while now. Not necessarily because certain people around me because most of my friends are Christian. My main problems with it are the hypocrisies with it and the people who feel that Christianity is the only right belief system. I do hold a bit of resentment towards it because I was (and still am even though I'm 20) forced to go to church. I don't understand what I'm supposed to fear about hell because no one can get their story straight about what's so scary about it. What is it? Is it fire? Absence of God? Demons? It can be all three, but no one speaks of it in that way.

Also I really disagree with a lot of what the church teaches. I believe in evolution because the idea that we were created magically from dirt doesn't makes sense to me. Plus the proof is there. Fossils and the like...I don't believe this whole thing that says that fossils were planted by the devil. Plus I don't think homosexuality is wrong or immoral. Love is love in my book. I'll admit that for a while my mom had me believing there was something wrong about it (though I never admitted that to anyone...but my friends picked up on it 'cause I'd never even read a shounen-ai manga (Gravitation to be exact)), but deep down, I didn't really believe it. I came to my own conclusion on the issue and me and my mom greatly disagree on this.

And the biggest reason that I have problems with Christianity is because more focus is placed on the doctrines than the spirituality. This doesn't seem right. It's built of the spiritual aspect yet when people speak of being Christian, they do nothing but quote the bible and say that this this and that is wrong and if you do believe in these things things then you're immoral.

So...behind my mother's back (I'm sure my dad doesn't really care for religion and wouldn't care if I didn't want to be Christian anymore...), I'm looking up different things. I'm trying to be more spiritual because I think it will help keep me grounded and help me out with my stress (the meditation aspect of it at least). Yet I'm still being forced to go to church and I wish she'd let me decide for my own what I want to believe in instead of trying to force stuff on me. I'd gladly let her let me speak one on one with someone in my church if they won't be judgmental about things and speak to me rationally. I've always wanted to hold a rational conversation with someone who's very religious and why they would care about what I believe...I'm sure that'll never happen.

For anyone who actually read that...kudos and you know know what goes on in my mind most of the time. X3

I would've put this on FA, but every time I bring up the subject of religion this one member always ends up talking about how childish religion is and I really hate that. I brought up how I was interested in some rather "out-there" topics and they said that I was trying to convert myself to some other belief (which was untrue), yet the spent their time trying to convert me to Atheism...I confronted them on that and the never responded yet they kept talking about how childish religion is...So I'll sparingly bring the topic up there...I'll try to avoid it.

Regardless of my feelings on religion, I don't like hearing people putting down the beliefs of others.

A lot of people on DA don't critique unless they see that it says "Advanced critiqued encouraged" above the picture. You can easily say that I could just put up in my comments that I would like critique, but honestly, who reads what I have to say? Very few people do.

Grrr...and I like my critiques too...but not on everything...

But seriously, I needed a place to showcase all my best work along with stuff pertaining to my major. So far the only things I have up there are my storyboards and a work in progress of my Vulpix image that I hope to work on some more over break. I've got a lot of stuff to draw over break...that hopefully I can get done (or mostly done).

I'm so gonna be rushing to draw stuff for ACen. In terms of full images to make prints of, I've only got 3 done so far (my Froslass painting, Death the Kid drawing and Thoma pic). I really want to try to finish my Vulpix one and my one of Stardust Dragon and Yusei Fudo. But drawing chibi badges seems like the best bet for now. Maybe I could come up with some bookmarks and just forget about finishing my Vulpix and Y5D's fanarts. I don't like how I did that recent chibi Death the Kid so I'm drawing a different one that I like a bit better. Also re-sketched my one of Maka and sketched one of Soul. But I can't upload them until April 15th 'cause of my silly contest challenge thingy with ~LadiehBinkieh.

But I also want to finish up one of my concept art pieces for my Storyboard Concept and Development class that also goes with my storyboards. In addition to finishing up a Leica reel for the class, we also have to have at least 3 pieces of concept art and a few character sheets. But we get time to work on that in class so I'll just try to get as much ACen art done as I can...

I...kinda don't know a lot personality wise about some of the characters I want to use. I mean, obviously I know my characters very well (and I'm only using 3 of my characters in it), but in terms of animating or even storyboarding someone else's character, that'll be hard if I don't know a lot about them personality wise...Some people have character sheets with info on their character's personalities...but...as for some other's...I'm not quite sure.

And what's also funny about this is I have to draw model sheets...and concept art...well then...I've got my work cut out for me...

All I need is this sound program called Amadeus Pro... Crap...I'll have to get that online 'cause I highly doubt my school's gonna let me use their copy...But I'd need that for syncing sound...

I've totally wanted to make an animation to CaramellDansen for a while...but not the boring dance thing that everyone does. No...I wanna have some characters sing that sucka! And the "dance" will be in there, but I want more to go on than just that. Not just that I wanna put an insane amount of characters in there...Maybe make it somewhat of a gift for all my friends and inspirations...and it could be like a Christmas gift...or New Years...or next Christmas... Depends how fast I work over the summer. I'd have 3 months...though I'll have to probably get a lot more paper than I have (or I can continue to try to stockpile animation paper...X3)...

Heh...It wouldn't be that smooth though. But it be fun to do while I'm trying to figure out how to animate a storyboard made a few years back that she gave me permission to animate.

So I came up with a little idea for a website and magazine geared towards the furry fandom. I've just got basic ideas right now. Like what I want the magazine and site to be about, what I want on the site, and what the target audience is (in general it's the entire furry subculture, but unlike a lot of furry related magazines/publications, there's gonna be no adult content...there's already enough of that and there isn't enough for the people who aren't into that or are young). I asked a little on FA about it and got some feedback on the idea. Because I wrote it up already I guess I'll just put the link to my FA journal about it:

So basically if I want this thing to work, I'd need a lot of help on a lot of different aspects. Since I go to an art school, I can always meet up with writers, photographers, and graphic designers. But I wouldn't mind help from any graphic designers on here. But I've got a ton of questions...might as well number it:

1) How do you make a website? And would anyone be willing to help me out or walk me though some things? I'm not very tech savvy...
2) Would anyone be willing to help me design a site or help me learn some basics of graphic design?
3) For people who do have their own websites, what are some good sites to host on? I'm looking to make a site that looks professional because I want this to act as a business of sorts...that is once I get the magazine going. Would take a good number of years obviously.
4) If you read the journal I posted above, what do you think needs to be added, or taken away.
5) I know the magazine aspect wouldn't be started for quite a while, but part of the website would be a preview of the magazine. Might put some mock pages up there so people could see what they were getting before they bought it. But I have no knowledge of magazine design either. That also ties into the graphic design thing, and that's another thing I'm gonna need a lot of help with.

I've been trying today to come up with a way to paint fur more realistically. The idea for coming up with a series of pokemon drawings that look like nature/wildlife photos, but I can't do that unless I can figure a way to make my stuff more realistic. has an amazing tutorial, but I can't quite translate it to what I'm doing. When she does photo realistic stuff, the animals have realistic colors for that animal. Brown is a realistic color for some animals, but it isn't too common with foxes to my knowledge. I've only seen red, silver, black, and white foxes. And especially with a baby fox. Plus, I haven't found too many good photos that have good detail on the flow and texture of a baby fox's fur.

Also...I don't know what else to put in the background.

I'm trying to get a few thing's ready for Anime Central, but I've got too many ideas and not enough time to draw them all. So I want some opinions on what you think of the ideas I have in each of the different sections. I don't need new ideas for stuff, just trying to see which ideas people like better. If I can get a feel for the ideas that are more "popular" (I guess) then I could see what stuff would go over well at ACen. So I figure I should make a few art related resolutions...

1) Practice more animation outside of school and Gallery 37. Doing schoolwork is good and all, but I don't get to really animate things that I want to. Plus I've got a little project for myself that I really wanna try...

2) Try to sketch something everyday. Whether it be some silly chibi or something realistic, I should try to draw something everyday.

3) Get some better painting supplies and paint some more. My brushes and paints I have now kinda suck 'cause they're so cheap. I'm hoping to go to Utrecht or Blick's with my friend and get some good supplies.

4) Draw more people.

5) Work on more textures other than fur.

I think that's good enough for one year.

Super emphasis on the word "honestly".

Sometimes I have things on my mind that I really want to write little arguments for or against. Something that I think would be too long for a journal. I'm not much of a debater, but I like talking about religion, politics, race/ethnicity...you know? Those good ol' things 'bout our society that can sometimes be really bad. Or I have stories that I want to develop into comics that I would want to post for feedback. Particularly for this reason. Writing isn't my strong suit, but I'm much better at writing our a story rather than a script. It helps so that I can get a good visual of the habitats and environments I want to put my characters in.

So I looked it up on Veoh and finished it and...wow...It's happy and sad and so many different emotions at the same time. I'm not too big on the style of the show but the story is beautiful and the music is just so gorgeous. The only reason I kept looking at it was because I had no idea what was going on in the first couple of episodes, but everything ties together really nicely in the end.

I really guess it depends on what types of shows you like, but if you're into romance and violence and fantasy and sci-fi or any one of those things, you'd probably like it. Especially if you're into that idea of romance transcending space and time. Even if you're not into that, I recommend it.

I so have to draw Thoma and Helga and the Children of Befort (main characters of the show...didn't bother to tell you the character's names 'cause I'm lazy) some time...There are also some scenes I'd love to re-animate because I though so much more could've been done in certain areas. Of course that's a project for me to do after I graduate, or during my junior and senior years.

Now to watch another anime! Probably Higurashi no Naku Koro ni or Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagan. Higurashi is such a freaky show! And do you now how much fun it is to say Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagan?

People shouting out that Obama's a terrorist, that he should be killed, one lady even said that Obama should be bombed. People might not want to believe me on this, but this is some pretty racist stuff. I've never heard this kind of hate of any other presidential election in my life. I've never seen this level of fear or ignorance of our history or just plain ignorance before.

But McCain did something that I really didn't think he would do. He tried to bring back the respect that he spoke so highly of earlier. The crowds are so far into hate though that I don't think they were completely listening. But the important thing was that he addressed it. It's terrible to shout out that you think someone should be dead at a campaign and I hope that people will listen to McCain, but I don't think they will.

I still have no respect for Sarah Palin though...

And I've just got a random question...anyone know how to keep a cat from attacking you? My cat's been really mean lately. I don't know why though...Doesn't look like anything's wrong with him physically, but he's just been very mean...

That entire site is awesome. I definitely reccommend it if you haven't heard of That Guy with The Glasses or That Dude in the Suede (who admits he's trying to rip off TGWTG as much as possible). I'm so excited that That Guy with the Glasses is coming to my school's anime club on Thursday!

So I was watching that video I put above, and started thinking about the most obnoxious anime hairstyles. Let's face it...very few anime hairstyles are normal (in style and/or color). Then I had the idea to come up with a sorta "book" of the top 20-30 or so most obnoxious anime hairstyles to sell at Anime Central. And of course Sombra gonna be the narrator ish thing.

Nothing bad...well depends on how you want to look at it. But 'cause of you I've spend my whole weekend looking at Yugioh 5D's. That's right. You got me re-hooked on Yugioh! And because I got hooked on Yugioh 5D's, I started watching the original, original Yugioh (the one that wasn't released in the US) and I love that and can't stop watching it. So for my Writing and Rhetoric II class we have to read this book, The Last American Man by Elizabeth Gilbert (she wrote the bestseller Eat, Pray, Love if you've heard of it). But it's a true story of a man, Eustace Conway who grew up with a fascination for nature and living in nature and with nature. Though he hunts for food, he always thanks the animals for giving their lives to save his and he makes the most of the animals he kills by using the fur, bones, tendons, everything. That I respect. And he hates it when people torture and kill animals for the purpose of "sport". He's really into Native American culture and believes everything in the world, in nature, is important.

I'm kinda the same way with the beliefs about nature. I kinda believe everything has a spirit. Trees, water, rocks, etc. In the same respect, I'm a bit interested in Native American beliefs and may start looking them up.

So as I was reading this book, I kinda got a strange idea for a story/comic/thing. I'm sure it's been done before. I've seen anime movies dealing with this concept. Princess Mononoke for one. The concept of humans/humanity vs. nature. Only I wasn't gonna go with this anti-human society approach (not that Princess Mononoke had one persay). I like the balance between human society and nature. For instance, there was this story in the news where in one community ComEd wanted to cut down 300+ trees because they were interfering with power lines. Trim trees, yes. But they don't have to cut them down. Good thing the residents of the community as well as the officials disliked the idea.

My idea isn't so fleshed out, but I wanted the main characters to be two kids, a girl and a boy. I think I want to start it out with them out playing in a treehouse in a nearby forest when some construction workers come by with bulldozers and other stuff, ready to cut down the forest for some new buildings or such. The kids refuse to leave the tree. Being the impatient people they are, the company were ready to cut down the tree anyways. As they start to cut down the tree, some voice tells them to stop. The tree roots come up from the ground and restrain the machines. From the bushes a figure appears. It looks a bit like a mix between a wolf and deer. That's about all I have so far other than the different spirits. The main one being Mother Nature herself. I think I want to make her a sheep of some sort. Biblically, sheep represent innocents and purity so that seems fitting to me. She represents herself in every aspect of nature. But there are smaller spirits that are in essence her "children". A forest spirit/spirit of earth (the one I described above), water spirit, fire spirit, and wind/air spirit. I'm debating on making spirits of light and darkness because I do believe they are elements that aren't normally represented along side earth, fire, water, and air, but they exist everyday. To me at least.

Unfortunately, I'm a terrible storyteller. It's a good idea, if not a bit Miyazaki-esque (which may be why I imagine this story in anime style ). But Miyazaki's a bit inspiration for me anyways. If anyone has any ideas on how I can make this better, I'd love to hear them. Or names for the different spirits. I was thinking of giving them names based on their elements. Probably combining the name of said elements in different languages. Mother Nature is just going to be Mother Nature so she'll be left alone.

I think that's what I'm feeling right now. Especially when it comes to my art. I get so competitive with it. Continuously trying to make myself better (actually this goes for my singing too...) and getting nowhere. Since I don't go to a prodigious art school like Ringling or CalArts, I feel like I need to try 10 times harder than everyone else, and that just doesn't fly for me. I can only push myself so far before art becomes work or a chore for me. And my school doesn't make this any better. They just feel that because everyone there is an art student that art should somehow be a part of every class. That just makes my general education classes that much harder for me.

Seriously, I'm almost at a point where I want to give up. Yes, I believe education is important, but right now I hate it. I don't care for math or science or any of that stuff. I just wanna draw. I want to draw without the pressures of being amazing. However if I do that, I'd never get a job. And I'm just not good enough make it as a freelance artist. I rarely admit this out loud, but...the only reason I want to be an animator is because cartooning's the only thing I'm good at. I can write but not nearly well enough to make my own comic or write a novel. I can sing but definitely not well enough to make a career out of it. I'm terrible at math and science. Hate being around kids so I could never be a teacher. Can never get up on a stage 'cause I get so nervous so I could never be an actor. Hate being around people so I can't even work in retail or anything like that and I have no business savvy. I can't even be a general "artist" 'cause I'm a terrible painter, sculptor, and I'm just uncreative. As we can see...I really think highly of myself (sarcasm if you couldn't pick it up).

Heh...I'm so fricken pessimistic. Not a good quality, but it's something I just can't seem to get rid of.

All I want is to have little fun with what I do. So I think I'm gonna backtrack a bit. I'm trying too hard to be creative and original and I forget the fun that I have usually when I draw fan art. On of my favorite things was to make TLK crossovers. I wanna do some more of those. TLK was my first inspiration. Why not go back to that for a while. I had so much fun drawing Death Note crossovers and Pokemon ones. I even drew little Gaara as a lion cub. so if you randomly seem e drawing Code Geass characters in TLK style...bear with me. I just need to be a little silly. Every once in a while, style mimicry can be fun.

Actually, I though I could make a bit of a challenge out of this for anyone willing to take it that is. Drawing your favorite character(s) from your current obsession in the style of (one of) your first inspirations...Though I have to say that using the styles of artists on DA would be off limits 'cause people get so touchy about "style theft". I'll make a separate journal where I feature people's drawings regarding the challenge. There's no prize or anything...it's just for fun. Just send a note...or comment here...whatever.

So any of you guys following along with the presidential election? It's pretty interesting to me. I'm usually not so into politics.

But as for the candidates themselves...yes I do support Barack Obama. Yes, I agree that he is "inexperienced in Washington" but I really believe that doesn't matter all that much. I honestly believe when it comes to running for President, every candidate is "inexperienced". How would they know what it's like and what it takes to run the country? Anyways, that's irrelevant. As for McCain, I don't think he's a bad person, but I just can't support him. I don't agree with his take on the war and the potential for him to reinstate the draft. Also, he doesn't believe in equal pay for women in the workplace, so there I definitely can't agree.

The way the whole campaigns have run on both ends got pretty down and dirty though. McCain's camp comparing Obama to Paris Hilton and Brittany Spears...Obama's camp picking on McCain's memory. I have to admit though that my favorite thing that's happened so far was when some reporter asked McCain how many houses he had and he didn't know. His people said 4, some reporters said 7 or 8 and somehow the number got all the way to 11. Why the heck do you need that many houses?!

But I have a question for you guys...do you think the issue of race/ethnicity is important? It just seems so taboo to bring up, but I think it needs to be stated that it is important. So many people say that it isn't but I believe that they know it is. You'd think that in 2008 that racism would die down, but really it won't.

Personally I think it's really important and some people are going to vote solely on the base of race. My main problem is how the McCain camp brings up how they never bring up the issue of race but Obama and his supporters do it all the time. Well they both do. McCain supporters always bring up the issue of race by asking why is Obama bringing up the issue of race even though in the context of the speech had nothing to do with his race. And I know he brings up race. They might as well. They should stop trying to pretend that the issue doesn't exist and just run with it. My biggest pet peeve about this is how McCain and his supporters try to portray Obama as an elitist and as out of touch with people. Why is that? Because he's an educated, well spoken black man that went to an Ivy League school? Are all black people supposed to speak in slang and ebonics? I certainly don't. Quite frankly, I can't stand it nor can I understand it. But that's why I think that people think he's an elitist. While on the other hand, McCain has multiple houses and thinks that you aren't rich unless you have $5 million or more. Last I checked, that's out of touch.

And to get on the case of Obama supporters who are black...where did this ideology come from that if you're black, speak and dress well and are educated, you're not "black enough". So black people have to prove themselves by running around in the streets, speaking ghetto, waving guns around and selling drugs? Girls have to be promiscuous, loud mouthed, and obnoxious? Is this really the perception we have of ourselves? In the eyes of society, he's black. Regardless of the fact he's half white...he's black.

Okay...I'm done. Hope the second half didn't sound racist. Every once in a while I like bringing up issues like race and religion 'cause they seem so taboo in society. Like you can't mention them at all. Now...I'm gonna go draw stuff...

I tried giving the real Dolphy some advice on how to report the impostor. Good deed right? Well apparently not. There is a part of the forum called the "Worst of CA" where threads made by trolls and others idiots get posted to be laughed at. Most if not all are locked and I though I'd get a good laugh. Went to more recent things and the whole Dolphy impostor was brought up. Someone then pointed out that it wasn't the real Dolphy, showing Dolphiana (the real Dolphy's) post that I happened to post on. Some jerk decided to basically say that it figures so much that a person with a "furfaggy" icon would know so much. Now, what's that supposed to mean? That if I didn't have a dog in my icon that I wouldn't have known? There were plenty of people who knew. Just because you didn't didn't mean that no one did. I'm probably making a big deal out of one comment, but I don't take such things lightly. First off, I was really happy that VanillaKitsune agreed to do a spam trade with me and I loved her picture of Sombra. Secondly, Sombra was the first character I made and really put a lot of effort into designing. To have such a thing said against her was something I took personally. Mainly because I created her as my personal character. Thirdly, I'm not a furry. I may draw anthro art, but I don't consider nor call myself a furry. Just my personal preference. And even if I were, that person has no right to judge me for a picture. If I were to do the same to her I would've said she was a gay guy. But that wouldn't have been cool, not would it?

Why am I writing this? Because I've realized that there are very few people here willing to critique, let alone comment. Only person on DA who's ever given me a well written critique was and you have no idea how grateful I was for that. I've even gotten some great tips from and am very grateful for those tips. But still I'm not very happy with much anything that I do. I can put "Advanced Critique Encouraged" as many times as I want on pictures and I'm sure I'll get very little. Because I'm sure no one believes me.

One or two word comments do nothing for me. How am I going to get a good opinion of a picture from "Awesome!" or "OMG Kawaii!!!" (PS...if anyone's ever gonna say 'kawaii' at least make it a full sentence...How about "Kawaii desu." or perhaps...use English?). So maybe what I'm asking is at the least if people comment in the future (which I'm sure I'll get less comments than I do now...8 close to 9 hours my Jenny picture's been up and I've gotten 2 comments...), can you give me some sort of feedback along the lines of "This is what I like, this is what I dislike, and this is what I think you can improve on"? But seeing as I know this site all too well, I'm not expecting much.

Ah, the joys of being on a large site...So many people; so little feedback. At this moment, it may seem like I don't like DA all too much and you may be right. I like its size...I don't like the popularity system and how there's little room for people to get their art seen if they don't draw what's popular or even if they draw what's popular. I'm sure that if I drew a picture of Naruto, I'd still get nothing back on it. There are some people that disagree, that say that it's easy to get your work out there. But I don't. I've tried. I get nothing. So for now I'm just going back to teaching myself everything. I learned very little in my high school art classes (I don't think my teacher liked me much...) and I haven't taken drawing classes in college. Only animation stuff (and drawing 1 but I didn't learn anything new in there). So teaching myself stuff is the only option I've got. I can't keep bugging artists here for crits on everything I've got, though I may ask Hibbary for more critique in the future.

And another question or two: Why does no one want to comment? And why does no one want to critique?

I didn't care if they didn't vote for my designs (well I did for the bird since I was the one that suggested that scene), but they didn't need to say that the design was too difficult! For goodness sake! I copied Milo's design from the book! Black shirt, white hair, tan pants. That's all it is! And apparently drawing him in anime style makes his design more difficult.

Now I realize drawing things in a different style make it look more difficult to draw (design wise), but that's not the case. Take my realistic pidgeot for instance. So I made it look more bird like. Sharp beak, each feather detailed (to the best of my ability so far), lively eyes. I didn't change it's design. I kept it's colors (save the beak 'cause I messed up) and the fact that its a bird of prey. I kept the long feathers and put each marking where it's supposed to be. Did I change it's design? No. All I did was change its style.

Thank God I'm the one working on the bird scene. People like him well enough to vote for my design, but none of them wanted to draw him. Our instructors knew that. So I figure I'm gonna be animating that scene too.

And I hope they give me back my designs for Milo since they're not using them. I can make him one of my characters. Just gotta give him a new name. Any of you have any ideas?

And I love Prince Zuko. Had to add that in 'cause I just got though watching Avatar.

If I didn't live with my parents and wasn't trying to save money for transportation for school and such, I'd try to commission you. Maybe one day I could talk my parents into letting me commission people.

And as for my strange idea..well it's not that strange. I was watching Nicktoons Network and was reminded of their animation festival. Now I know I'm pretty new to animation but I get a lot of practice at it. Plus I have ideas and I'm sure they'd all be better animated rather than in comic form or story form. Animation tends to be my bias because I love to see characters in motion.

Anyways, I have a few animation supplies (some paper, lightbox, pegs), but not too much. My mom would actually be willing to buy me more paper. I'm not planning on doing this within a year. I'm thinking 2 because I need to get the story solid and make sure it has a clear beginning middle and end, plus I need to finish my character designs and backgrounds. But this is an idea I've had in my head a while. I'm sure I've mentioned it before, but I had a comic idea about animal cruelty. Nothing's really gonna be too gruesome. Actually I planned on it being quite toned down, but still visual enough to get the point across. It would be amazing to win that contest because the grand prize includes $30,000 and I would love to donate some of that to the animal shelter where I adopted my cat.

Well, I know this would be a huge project for me to do alone, but I really don't care. Not like I'm trying to do it in a year. Possibly 2.3-3 years because I also want to add sound (I know the perfect person to commission for music granted FA starts working again and I have money in the future), need voices for the characters, photoshop on my laptop, and a way to sync sound to images. Hopefully my animation classes in the future could teach me that.

But there's not harm in starting on that project now is there? Since FA's down I'll be getting less commissions and all that leaves me with are trades. (I'd advertise my commissions here but I doubt anyone would take me up on them...)

But anyways, I've been talking with my friend . She's in the animation thing with me. And I came up with some idea for a comic to sell at Anime Central next year. We were talking about alternate ending or situations for some anime shows (mainly Death Note) and I thought it'd be funny to make an entire 'What if?" anime/manga comic series. So I'm trying to come up with as much animes (that I know of) to make silly situations with. I know I'm gonna do the entire thing in chibi style, save for the Excel Saga one. Me, my friend Eben and Alaine (IE: ~ZuzuTheMudkip ) thought it'd be hilarious that instead of coming up with a funny Excel Saga 'what if', that I made a serious one since the entire show is sheer insanity. It's brilliant! So if I wanna get through this thing I gotta start soon. I've got a couple of ideas for anime relatedness...

So one person (who was obviously racist) wrote in and said that Steve should be ashamed for yelling at this man for disowning his daughter for having a baby by a black man. Of course Steve dismissed this, because it doesn't matter what race, gender, what not, no baby deserves to be homeless. Apparently it's sinful to have a baby by someone outside of your race. And of course this must be true! It's in the bible! Idiot...If it was so sinful, someone should've told the slave masters that raped black women and got them pregnant. What now? Where's your rebuttal, random e-mailer?

This reminded me of a conversation that I, ~MegumiNoKaze and ~evil-odd had before going to Acen. We got on the subject of how people use the bible to back up racism. Now, this really makes me angry. Not only because I am black, but because I believe that there are parts of the bible that will be flawed/biased because it is a) written by humans and b) there are different versions of the bible that cater to different groups of people. Bibles that cater to racists, sexists, homophobes, etc. I don't doubt that.

However, right in the 10 Commandments, which I see people love to overlook, it says to love thy neighbor. So apparently that part doesn't matter. The only parts of the bible that matter are those that speak of hate. All stories have hate in them and that can't be avoided. But all stories have an overall moral to them and there are two main ones from the bible (two or three): There is one God and nothing should be put before him and love/treat others as you would like to be treated (IE: Love thy Neighbor).

Sorry for the race based mini rant, but that letter really pissed me off. Especially because I believe some of the most beautiful and/or talented people in the world are products of mixing races. Kimora Lee Simmons, Crystal Kay, Angela Aki, Barack Obama (I can't forget him), and many more.

Saturday was good. I met up with my friend early. We wandered around artist alley and I bought 7 prints 1 bookmark and got a free bookmark from and I bought two poster prints from ...which...I accidentally bent up quite a bit when I tripped and fell...not getting in to that story...I'm sad... They were such awesome pics! Why'd I have to fall?!?!?!?!?! Why!?!?!?!? My knee still hurts too...mainly when I walk down stairs and touch it. And I wanted to say hi to 'cause I passed by her table and everytime I did...she wasn't there. It made me sad. And later, I met up with my friend after she got done with her horseback riding lesson and I stood in line with her for 4 hours while she got her badge. And I ran into my other friend in line...and I fell going to say hi to her. Hehehe...darn slippery floor... And there was this dude in line who was dressed as L...and he had no shoes on. That floor was disgusting! There was food and random stuff spilled everywhere! How could he walk around barefoot?! That just bugged me.

And then the masquerade was so much fun! My favorites would have to be the Lelouch Lamperouge cosplay, the Haku one definately (from Spirited Away in his dragon form; it was amazing!) and this character that I can't remember his name but it was this golem like thing with a person growing from his back. The way it was executed was amazing. And the skits...of course...lots of yaoi relatedness, and the Hare Hare Yukai and...dare I say it...Caramelldansen...I hate that song. The best skit was this one Death Note parody of the movie Saw. Light's chained to this chair and he hears this random voice telling him what to do. And then he tells Light to repeat after him and makes Light confess to being Kira and say that L is the greatest. And who was behind the voice? Why, it's L of course! It was awesome.

Then today, I bought this adorable Light plushie and Light keychain. They're so cute! And I ran into my friend . God you're so quiet! You should've talked more!

God, this convention is so badly organized. Today my club was supposed to go and pick up our badges. But first they wouldn't let them pay by credit card. Why would they stop credit card payments at a certain time? It's guaranteed money! And then just today they put up that if you have to pay for your badges, then you couldn't get your badge today. Craptasticness...Acen gets on my nerves sometimes. I need to work for them. Only then could they get a reality check and some lessons on organizations.

I kinda wanted to write my own review of Speed Racer. Writing movie reviews are fun. Plus I think critics are looking at it in the wrong way.

Okay...

Personally I felt that it was a fun movie to watch, regardless if your a fan of the cartoon or not. The images for the most part were really fun and beautiful. At some points I feel that the special effects were overdone or were not done well enough. If they were going to do the things that they did, they should not have done it half-heartily. I would have loved to see how well things could have been if they went all out with the effects.

I don't want to give anything away so let's see what else I can come up with.

Now, I don't really thing this should have been rated PG. If they were really gearing the movie towards kids 8 and up, they really could have done without the swearing and Spritle giving someone the finger. Last I checked, swear words alone could bring the rating of a movie up to PG-13. Plus with all the explosions and shooting, I'm surprised that the movie is supposed to be geared towards kids and I'm surprised that critics haven't picked up on that.

I really do love the fact that Trixie is smarter in the movie than she is in the series and that Speed pays more attention to her in the movie. For the most part, I think the actors really stayed true to the characters. At first I didn't think that John Goodman would make a good Pops Racer, but he was really good in that role.

Okay, I should ask my friend if she wants to add anything to this review...so...Marissa...wanna add anything?

Let's see. I'm still really frustrated with my animation. I have five scenes to animate and I still have to detail everything I already have. Tomorrow's gonna be so busy. I might stay up really late tonight and tomorrow. That's gonna suck. Hopefully it looks good. 'Cause I'm not gonna be able to pencil test it until...it's due. I wish we had the extra week. Then I could pencil test it and fix it for next week if it needs it.

Then (well this is kinda...silly) but I wanted to buy some songs off iTunes. And I really wanted to listen to them. But I can't get them until I'm sure that Paypal recognizes the bank account that I put in. Hopefully it works because it's not a large bank. It would suck if it doesn't work because that would mean that I could never get the money out of my account and I couldn't take anymore commissions. And I have over $200 dollars in there. Gah! This is making me so mad!

And I have no money for A-Cen. My mom won't lend me money and she says that my dad doesn't have money to lend me but he says that he does and he would. I'm not sure if that's true.

And lastly, my dad's trying to convince me that I shouldn't go to my high school tomorrow because my friends there told me to. He never wants me to do anything when my friends ask me to. It's not like they're ordering me to come. I want to go. But he assumes it's always because they ask me to. Also he's trying to convince me that my best friend doesn't want to hang out with me anymore. Well, she's in Pennsylvania! She doesn't have my cell phone number. But she does have a DA site, my email address and my home phone number. I really wished that she'd get back to me on going to A-Cen. I'm really not keen on taking a train by myself at night. And I don't want to come home early.

Ah, I'll get back to work on my stupid animation. It really needs to be done...

Plus, I'm kinda not in the mood to draw animals right now. After those pictures of Seiji, Midori, and Lelouch, I kinda want to draw more people. Also, I don't want to really copy screenshots anymore. I wanna try something to the level of detail in 's pictures. Maybe a little less detail though. I'd need a ton of practice to get to that level.

Okay, so I'm addicted the the revamped version of the Speed Racer theme song done for the movie. My problem...I can't find the lyrics! It's driving me crazy! Especially for the Japanese and Spanish parts...yes...they change languages about 3 times. From English to Japanese to English to Spanish to English again. Insane isn't it? But it sounds cool.

I don't really count it as the theme song but rather a tribute song. I think they could have made an actual cover for the theme but I still love this song.

I know that Death Note is extremely popular and I think it's popularity well deserved, though the fans...really aren't that intelligent sometimes. What I find really interesting is how much the fans read into the text and how much we think that it's about good an evil, but really...they really didn't think about that. They wanted to create an unique story that may deal a bit with the concept of justice, but they didn't want that to be the entire story. And I love how much care they put into each character's design and names. I can't even believe that they came up with a nationality for L either. I would've just assumed he's Japanese.

And it's pretty interesting what they have to say about the characters. That the only character they think is purely good is Soichiro Yagami (Light's dad). L's a...liar. Light hates evil. That's my favorite thing thats in there...other than the insane 4 panel comics. And there's a pilot comic in there that I haven't fully read yet but it doesn't have anything to do with the Death Note that we know.

I think now I'm gonna really think about my characters and really just think about how they look in relation to their personalities and such. The only character I've really done that for is Sombra.

Oh...and if I ruined anything for you...I don't care.

Yeah...

I'm really curious about this live action movie...I so want to see it. Mainly because I want to laugh at it.

Truthfully, I hate the cartoon...well the American dub. I kinda want to see it with the original Japanese dialogue. I kinda learned a bit about the show. Like the creator based if off what he saw in old Bond movies. The gadgets in the Mach 5 were based off some stuff he saw in those movies as well. I really like the original title of the show mainly 'cause it was...well...better than 'Speed Racer' but still really...funny sounding. It's Mach GoGoGo. Go no. 1: for the Mach 5. 'Go' is 5 in Japanese. Second Go: for Speed's original name, Go Mifune and the third go...just the English word go. I find that kida awesome.

I really want to hear how they re-did the theme song for the movie.

But...tomorrow's YouTuebe night at my anime club. If I knew any good YouTube videos's I'd suggest them. And one where someone did a stop motion animation of the Hare Hare Yukai with dolls. It was kinda cool.

I guess there were only two good parts: Signing up for A-Cen and the JAM group so I don't have to pay $50 (YES! I thought I was gonna be in the hole $50) and...doing the Hare Hare Yukai dance! It was so obnoxious. Everyone in the club did it. It was epic...well for me an epic failure. I am so learning that dance (I'd probably do it better if I weighed less. ).

My anime club is sheer insanity.

And as a serious question. Anime Central (the A-Cen I was talking about) has an art contest pitting anime club against anime club. I was thinking of suggesting this to the club president that I would be interested in representing the club. Think I should do it.

I bet $50 e-dollars that only one person notices that last paragraph.

So I was walking to Japanese class today and was thinking of maybe changing my idea for a 'Cultural Project' (I'm not going to because I only have about 4 or so more weeks of school ). I'm really bad with remembering katakana (that's the system of writing used for non-Japanese words). So I figure that I'm gonna make a katakana picture book...thing...yeah...Not really a book but over 50 images of characters with names that would have that specific character in it.

Maybe I'll use some ya'll's characters (dude...is it even possible to put two apostrophies in a word?!?!? ) I already decided that 'so' is saved for Somubura (AKA Sombra ). 'Zu' is reserved for Zuzu ze Mizugoroo (AKA Zuzu the Mudkip). And some I want to use for fan art. I'll make a list and people can suggest their characters or a character you would want to see. If you can make the characters...oh...let's say...not wolves, huskies or malamutes. Basically no canines that look like wolves. There are too many of them around here. Also I would love for you guys to suggest rare animals and especially if you are going to suggest canines and felines, suggest some that are rarely seen around here. Also...human characters are fair game too. I need to practice drawing people too.

I was so confused when I woke up and saw everyone had "So I herd u liek Mudkipz?!!!!" icons. I was like "what the...!?!?!?!?!?!?".



So I figured that I would take some time to pimp out my favorite mudkip, my friend ~ZuzuTheMudkip of course!

She's improved a lot since the summer and I figure I'd show some of my favorite pic of hers. She should draw Zuzu more though. Zuzu's the best mudkip ever. She's seemingly eyeless.

He's such an amazing person with portraying a story through images. I'm pretty sure he could take a terrible story and make it amazing. He's just got such an imagination and a lot of creativity. Much more than I have, that's for sure.

The movie (and show) I have in mind when thinking of his work are Paprika and Paranoia Agent. Paprika was a novel before it became a movie and the author admited that Kon went in a bit of a different direction when making the film. I think my favorite scene in Paprika (other than that insane parade) is the scene when Atsuko and the old guy she was working for (I don't remember his name) were in a car. It was raining and she was talking about how the dreams were starting to merge into one until they became one large dream. All the while the view is on the windshield while small raindrops came down and formed two streams and then one large stream and then coming together at the bottom of the windshield. I think that was extrememly brilliant on his part to decide to do that.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I need to both write more and try to put pictures to stories. I think I really need to be more descriptive in my stories. What do you guys think make a good story? The only things I can think of are good descriptions, great characters and character development, and clear beginning, middle, and end. A conflict, climax, and resolution. Hmm...can't really think of anything else. Symbols maybe and metaphors. If you guys can think of something, don't hesitate to tell me.

And on another note...22 days until my birthday! Yay! I'm so asking for money from my parents. I really want to commission *hibbary at Anime Central this year (I probably won't ask for money though...I want a set of 120 Polychromos pencils too). As a present to myself. Plus I don't have time to make a full Kirara fursuit cosplay thing... But I think I can make a partial suit in...oh...a month. I just need the money for supplies. And I really want to learn to make plushies...that was just something random I decided to add in.

Yeah, so far I'm having fun...but I've just watched a ton of movies. Let's see, I've watched Watership Down finally. It's a good movie (and violent! Dang, you people should give a sista a warnin'! ). I don't really know why it's so popular for fan art though. It wasn't that amazing, but I do think it's good. And I've watched Paprika for the second and third time. Seriously, I don't care if you hate anime. Satoshi Kon is a brilliant artist and director. Take a look at that movie (I will warn you that it does have some adult imagery, but none of it is useless). The animation, story, colors; all amazing. And I still have no idea what's going on and I love that movie to death. That's how amazing it is. And Akira. That movie is brilliant as well. I hadn't seen it before, but I figured I had the time so I might as well rent it. And I finally got to see Ratatouille (is that how it's spelled?). I love it! Let's see...what else...oh yeah! Porco Rosso, another great Miyazaki film I finally saw (yes...I basically wandered through the anime section at Blockbuster...). It's a great story and amazing animation as always. And for fun I just rented this series called Midori Days. It's so cute and funny, but pretty bad...I still want to watch more of this show. It's so obnoxious...

I also watched some non traditional and non animated stuff. Beowulf...where do I start with that. Usually I don't make too big of a deal when a movie strays from the book, but that was ridiculous! It was so bad! Animation wise, it was amazing, but the story was so off! I watched some movie today called Death Sentence. It was okay. And Hitman was pretty good, but now I've got Ave Maria stuck in my head.

I also watched way too much MSNBC when I was in Houston. Seriously...I'm so tired of this election right now. So much mudslinging between Clinton (Bill and Hillary) and Obama's campaign (not Obama himself persay). I'm also sick of these stupid sex scandals. I say if a person can do a good job, then leave the personal stuff out of it. After a while, no one will care. The media just blows things up so much and then they think they don't play a hand in creating the mess things usually end up being.

So other than watching news, Jay Leno and random movies we visited some family in Houston. My cousin, Roland (well he married my cousin Jackie and...does that make him my cousin now? I get confused on these things. ), is a larger Naruto fan than I am and he's in his early 30's! He burned me episodes 1-52 of Shippuuden...but my laptop won't play them. It makes me sad... His daughter, Jenovia is so adorable though! I usually don't like babies, but she's so cute! She's almost 2 and I think she gets confused when she sees my mom and aunt together because (since they're sisters) the look alike. Jenovia kept trying to take my mom's glasses off I guess becuase they made her look too much like my aunt.

Okay...off to wander DA now and randomly fave stuff.

So...tomorrow I'm goin' to Texas for a week. I'm gonna try to draw more stuff to put up here. Not to excited about goin' on a plane. I've been trying to get over a cold this entire week and apparently got an ear infection. That's what I get for blowing my nose too hard apparently...so says my dad... So with all that extra pressure already in my ears, I hope my ears will be okay during that plane ride.

Like I said before, I hope to come up with some new sketches and stuff and maybe a random traditional picture depending on if I can get some more colorless blenders. Plus I need to take some time to practice my Japanese so there might be some random things with hiragana, katakana, and/or kanji on it.

What's horrible about this is that Drew Peterson is a cop. So of course, the cops don't really want to prosecute one of their own. Especially one that was really respected. This guy has no feelings about his missing wife. Even if she did leave with another man, how come he can't show any emotions?

Another horrible thing, he had 3 other wives before Stacy. One of them was drowned in her bathtub. It looked like a suicide, but it was proven to be homicide sometime in November I believe. And they just proved today that another one of his wives was murdered. Coincidence? I don't think so. I completely am convinced that he did it. There have been so many people who've been a witness to his strange behaviors. One woman he dated and proposed to (she turned him down) said that he stalked her. Do I completely believe her? I'm not sure. From what I see of Drew's behaviors during his interviews, I wouldn't put it past him. He's a cold, unfeeling person. He smirks when he speaks of Stacy's disappearance. There's nothing in his eyes. He's devoid of feelings and emotions. It's depressing. He did it and sadly enough, I'm tired of hearing about this. I wish they could find something to convict him and arrest him already. Regardless of the fact that he used to be a cop, he isn't now because of this. And just because he worked for the law, doesn't mean he upheld it.

Ranting's fun.

This is depressing though. I need to make htis happy. Okay...I'm so happy that tomorrow I'm going to a dog show (just as a viewer). I'm hoping to be ablt to sketch some different dog breeds. And maybe learn a thing or two about conformation shows. I hope to be able to show Newfoundlands one day. They're my favorite breed.

And I've been stealing animation paper from my animation class. I so am gonna stockpile this stuff and use it in my spare time...like today. I took a break from trying to work on my commissions from FA. And I've been reading the BBA comic and...I keep thinking that it would look good animated so I'm just randomly animaiton Swiftkill. Hopefully it'll look good. I want to finish the pencil test by Sunday. Maybe I can scan it in then and see how good it looks and where I need to add in extra frames.
