I finally graduated from college last Friday so yay for me! I now have a B.S. Degree in Studio Art. I'm going to hopefully be teaching with it for now. But who knows in the future.

Anyway...I'll have the summer off from school so I will hopefully be able to get some more stuff out soon. I have already started working on tutorials again and photographing a little. I've even been drawing a bit...so expect some new things to be coming in the future.

And well...that's about all for now.

Lot's of exciting things going on. For me anyway...lol. I just found out that my best friend is getting married! We've known each other for a long time and I'm really excited for her. My older brother has also started dating again. He hasn't really dated anyone for like 6 or 7 years...lol. And it's not because he's a bad looking guy...his last relationship ended really badly and ever since then he's just been really busy with work and stuff. But now he has a new girlfriend and they have been dating for almost a month now. She's really nice too. I hope everything works out for him. He's like 24 now...it's time to settle down dangit. Lol...but I have no room to be talking I suppose. I'm 21 and I don't date. >;P

I also got to hang out with my family a bit since it was my day off. I accidently burnt by hand with a smoke bomb though...lol. Lucky me. >;P

Anyway...I also finished two new chibis today. I also went back and took a look at the older ones from like over a year ago. I decided that I really didn't like the frame thing that was around them so I cropped it off today and reloaded the revised images. I think I like it better this way. It's a bit more simple since their isn't as much going on in the background but I still think it looks better.

Well...I have to go back to work tomorrow. Oh yes...I have to work on the 4th of July. Woohoo for me. :Twirls finger in air with joy: It's all a part of the wonderful benefits of working at Wal-mart. I seriously hope I finish school this year. Because I seriously can't handle another year of Wal-mart. I must finish quickly so I can get another job!

Lol...no I am not really planning on switching over to photography or anything. I may occasionally decide to post a few up though because I really do find photography to be an interesting form of art and can be just as powerful as any other art form.

By no means do I consider myself to be great at Photography...I'm mostly just out there trying to practice and get the hang of using my camera so any constructive criticism is much appreciated.

So anyone that may be worried that I won't be doing anymore drawings and such need not be concerned. I'm just simply practicing a new method of expressing myself...lol. :D

I finally got a new camera a couple of days ago. It's a Canon with way more megapixels than my last camera had...lol. So I have been going through and updating some of my older pieces in my gallery. Replacing the old photographs of them with newer and better ones. Looks pretty spiffy so far...lol...I love my new camera and I find myself just taking pictures of random things just for the heck of it.

So anyway...expect some things to just be randomly updated with no apparent explanation...I got tired of typing in "EDIT: Newer, better picture" in the artist comment box everytime I updated the photograph...lol.

I am going to try and get most if not all of them done in the next week or so. And expect more new images to be uploaded too since while I am digging these old things up I find things that I had forgotten to put up here. Lol...so anyway...I'll have most of next week off of work as well so I may be able to get in some more surprises too. We'll see! :D

Ok...I finally redid my Sakura Chibi...used a different style than usual too. I changed the way I do backgrounds again to see if it would make it more interesting. I also put some cherry blossoms in the background, but I'm not sure if that was too much or not.

I have a had a a couple people ask about Commissions in the past. Well, generally I hate to say no to anyone's request, but I seriously don't have much time as it is. So basically if I were to accept commissions it would only be for payment. It probably wouldn't be for much because I don't see how my artwork is really good enough yet to be putting a high price on it. So it would mainly just be a payment for using materials and a little bit for the time I would be spending on it.

Depending on "what" the request is I may say no...basically I don't do anything with nudity in it. Men with shirts off, women in their underwear...something like that I can handle, but nothing graphic.

Also...depending on "when" the request is I may say either no or it'll be a while. Generally, during the summer isn't too bad for me. But during the school year I am going to be going to school full time and working part time at two different jobs. So my time isn't really my own. During those times I may just say that it will have to wait until I can catch a break or something.

Depending on "who" the request is of I may want more information. If it's your original character I am going to want some serious details about what they look like...Don't just tell me she has brown hair and blue eyes. I want to know her body type, her age, her hair color, skin color, eye color, hair type, distinguishing features, clothing style, personality,...etc. The list could really go on forever and in order for me to really feel like I am capturing someone correctly I need to know all the details. If it's fanart from another series I may just ask you to send 2 or 3 pics of this person unless it is someone you have already seen in my gallery before and I know who they are. As I've said before, I don't have a lot of time and that includes having to google up some character I've never heard of before for a pic. If you have any questions about whether or not I may be familiar with the character you are free to ask and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Time Frame for Projects:
I'm also going to note that it very well could take some time to do a request. Basically, once you have given me an idea of what I'll be doing I should be able to check out my schedule and give you a time frame of how long it will take me. Depending on what it is and whether or not I have to work I could probably do it in 1 - 2 days. But if I have quite a bit going on or it's a complicated project you may be looking at up to a week or so. But I'll be sure to give you the heads up as soon as I've figured everything together.

Payment:
Well, basically I am mostly only able to accept paypal. Checks make me nervous so I don't think that is likely to happen. Carefully concealed cash or a gift card may be an option but it would lengthen the time of the project since you have to wait for snail mail. And that's about it. I may open to discuss other forms of payment, but I can't guarantee I'll agree to it.

Prices:

Portraits: (Would include head and shoulders only)
Sketch $5.00
Color $15.00 (Will include simple background)

Full body: (Will include one object if desired. Weapon purse...things of that nature.)
Sketch $10.00
Color $20.00(Will include simple background)
Any extra objects, will be up to $5.00 depending on the difficulty and time consumed on such an object. I'll let you know a definite price if you ask.

For Colored pieces I will do a simple background free of charge. This will be something really simple...like a gradient or just some color splashed in there or something. But since I'm not fond of backgrounds if you want anything really detailed or intricate, like the inside of a room or a beach scene, I may charge up to $10.00 extra.

If you want more than one person in a pic, just let me know. It will be an extra $5.00 per person though so be prepared for that.

Basically, once you've put in your request I will send you a message with an invoice type of thing. Showing what you will be charged for and I'll have it all totaled up. I won't ask you to pay me until the job is done.

I will send you a note with a basic idea of what your sketch will look like. This will be only a proof and it will be likely to be covered in watermarks or blurred or something since I haven't been payed yet. I have been getting really interested in Final Fantasy VII lately. It all started about a month ago when I just randomly decided that I wanted to watch the Final Fantasy: Advent Children movie. I had never played any of the games or anything, just decided to watch the movie. So I watched it and I was really confused at first, but the more I watched the more I started to fall in love with it. So now I've had to go and buy the game off ebay so I can play the darn thing. Had to borrow my cousins PS1 and memory card so I could play it and be able to save. lol. I even caved and went and bought a new PSP just so I could play the Final Fantasy: Crisis Core game. (Which is pretty dang good by the way). I've already beaten Crisis Core and I was really amazed with the graphics. I thought that the PSP probably wouldn't have good graphics because of the small screen which was why I hadn't opted to buy one already. But I was really impressed. I still haven't beaten the original FF7 game because it quit playing. :( It started to skip really bad and stuff and then just quit all together. So I am trying to by a new disc 1 so I can finish playing my game. I really wish they would remake that game for the PSP! Lol...but I suppose I can dream. Anyway...I have just finished a few sketches for some Final Fantasy VII Chibis that will be posted some time soon. I know there has been a lack of new art in my gallery lately, but hopefully I'll be able to get my act together soon.

I am still working on the coloring for that last batch of chibis. Basically all I have left on all of them is the shading and highlights, but I always get caught up doing other things and never work on them. Eh...it's pure laziness and procrastination on my part and for that I sincerely apologize.

Anyway...there is my pointless ramble for the day. hehehe

Sorry for the lack of doing anything artistic lately...lol. I had finals like a week or two ago and even though I was really hoping I'd get a chance to rest I just haven't had that much of a chance yet. I got out of school and then since I have to work more at wal-mart for christmas and I was still having to teach art classes this week...well...I've just been running myself mad. Lol.

And on top of that I have been trying out a new anime/manga series that a friend recommended to me. I've been reading all of the volumes of Saiyuki within the past month and I have watched the anime too. A really good series I'd say. Definitely would recommend it to anyone thinking about trying a new anime/manga series. :D

Anyway...things should hopefully slow down a bit the next two weeks so maybe I will have time to get some things done. I have actually been working on coloring a few pics...I just haven't finished them yet. Mostly I've been working on the big "Shirtless Shinobi" pic. I really want to get that one colored soon, but I also really want to push myself on that pic to do better than I usually do...lol. It's such a huge pic and it's just taking me a while when I can only work for an hour or two at the time.

Anyway...sorry for the rambles. I guess that is it.

Eh...well I have been to some other peoples pages tonight and realized that some people actually find it kind of interesting to know about the meaning of other peoples' usernames. So I guess I decided that I would write a little about my own username.

Most people I think have kinda guessed some of the meaning of my username.

Spiky-Valentine

It's mostly from Cowboy Bebop which was one of my favorite animes at the time. I was doing a play off of my favorite characters from the series: Spike Spiegel and Faye Valentine. Thus there became Spike Valentine

But that's not the only reason. I don't really like things that have no meaning so I had to have some kind of deeper underlying idea for the name too. So I looked at Valentine first. I've always loved that word for some reason. Hate the holiday with a passion...which if you've looked through my entire gallery you've probably noticed. I have no Valentine's Day themed art posted in my gallery. Plenty of couple picks, but no Valentine themed ones(That I remember anyway...). I just hate the holiday.

So I came up with the idea of the spiky-valentine. Since everyone is always giving gifts and things on this holiday the idea of someone getting something that symbolized pain(spikes/thorns) on a day of love that was just sadistic enough to appeal to me I guess.

Love cannot be experienced without pain after all.

So then there was the spiky-valentine.

Anyway...I was a pretty strange kid back then and I had a real downer look on love and anything to do with it so it just appealed to me at the time. I still have a downer look on love, but I'm not as depressed about it now. I stay to busy with other things to allow myself to have a real life that I can be depressed over...lol.

Well, now that we all now I am crazy I guess I'll shut up now. :D

Eh...not too much here. Just happy to be off for a break. Sorry for the lack of art lately...I just haven't really been in an artsy type mood. Like I'll kinda get an idea for something and then when I try to draw it just totally doesn't come out right so anyway. Maybe I'll be back on top of things soon.

Meh...Christmas. This is usually one of my favorite holidays of the year. As much as I enjoy the gift giving and everything, this year I just kinda found myself being worn out by all the running around. Lol...maybe I'll get it straight.

Anyway...maybe there will be new things soon. Definitely when I start school though, I will have 3D Design, Illustration, and Oil Painting that I have to worry with so it should keep me on my toes as far as art.

Decided it was about time I split everything off. From here on out any updates to my chibi list or any other projects that I am working on will be on the "Projects" panel. >;P

I had all of my clubs posted in here too, but I decided to move all of them off to a separate page because...well...it takes up a lot of space and it makes my page load up slower with all of those icons...lol. So anyway...all of my clubs can be found on my member of page.

The about me was something that I just kinda worked on in my spare time for anyone who really wants to know something about me...lol.

Anyway...that is basically all I know of to say.

My chibis and other projects are going to be trickling out rather slow in the next week or so. Right now I am in school full time and I have two part time jobs that is kind of a mess. I am trying to work out the situation with the two jobs so that I can just have one, but I just wanted to let you guys know that I am not giving up on them or leaving or anything...lol. I just have a few things to work out and it is going to take a little time to get things straight.

Lol...anyway...I haven't made a complete list for who I intend to do, but basically I am just drawing the Naruto characters with no shirt on and loading them up on a background. I had mentioned before that I wanted to get better at drawing muscle structure, especially for guys cause I really wasn't all that good at drawing them. So anyway...I felt like this would be a good exercise. But I didn't want to just load up a simple sketch that I drew so I decided to put it into a background as well. This is also good cause it let's me practice a bit with photoshop and what some of those filters and tools do. :D I already feel like I've learned quite a bit.

I would really like to make a calendar with the Naruto characters one day.

-Naruto Elementals

This is something that I have had on my mind as well. I would like to draw some of the characters in an elemental setting (fire, water, earth, air).

-Naruto Animals

I would like to draw some of the characters with an animal that I believe depicts them. Simple as that. >;P Of course this will have to be when I get better at drawing animals. :D


Akatsuki Kindergarten

Ok...this was a pretty crazy idea I got a while back for a comic series about the Akatsuki. What would it have been like to have them all in Kindergarten in the same class. >;P I am doing an internship right now where I am teaching elementary art and the idea came to me on a day that I had just gotten home from work and the kids had been particularly roudy. (You just gotta love kids this time of year...they will drive you insane!) And I had drunk quite a few Pepsi's and Dr. Peppers to get me through this day...so let's just say that my caffeine level wasn't exactly healthy. And I began to wonder to myself...what if they were my students. The idea scared me out of my mind (what was left of it) but at the same time it gave me this idea. So maybe in the future I'll try to draw it out.

I just had an idea to do something with Gaara as the Kazekage. What I was thinking about was having him do some of the every day things. Like playing with children or something. Sometime I hope.

I know my teachers trying real hard, and I'm sure there are some people in there that actually know what they are doing...but right now I am not among those few. I think I am going to have to talk to him about it and see if there is someway he can help me understand better...it makes me feel dense having to ask him things like that...but I guess if it must be done...then it must be done.

Anyway...I'm also pretty excited...I finally get a nice long week of work and I get to go to the beach on vacation. Hopefully I'll be able to get some nice relaxation time in and come back with a better handle on things.

The best part! I finally get the strength up to ask someone to be my date for the prom! Very much happiness there!

Plus I made a 100% on an English this week! That is a great thing in itself since usually I don't do that. :D

We had our first softball gam of the season yesterday and even though we lost and it was freezing cold it was a great game. Or at least I had fun anyway!

I am so excited! I'm leaving this weekend to go on my last basketball state tournament for high school! I'm kinda sad cuz of it being the last one and all...but still...wow! Can't believe I am a senior...lol. :P

Not to much to say though. I've been out of school for the last couple of days from being snowed and iced out. Ice everywhere!

I also want to say that it may be a while before I get around to loading anymore pictures. My scanner has died from the best I can tell and I'm not sur how long it may take to get a new one. Grr....the aggrivation.

Anyway that is about it. C-ya laterz!
