Soon enough, that year passed by. It was not a really good year, but well ... let's hope that the next one will be much better. Of course some new projects surely help a lot

Gala Nocturna will take place at 20th of February, in Kontich near Antwerpen, like the years before: [link] (be sure to get your tickets and hotel rooms soon if you want to go there )
I already started on the gown for the Gala. It will be flemish early baroque, like this one: [link]

But I'm not going to make the gown as it is in the painting, for a first try I will only make something inspired by that style without caring for period correct material.
Recently I got some diagrams of an existing garment from that period, it consists of a boned bodice and a seperate "ropa" that propably was pinned to the bodice.
I never thought that there were still existing garments from the early 17th century, but I loved that style since ever and the only thing that kept me from making such a gown was the fact that I didn't know how it was cut.

I already finished the bodice. It's not meant to be historical correct - like I said before - so I chose metal eyelets and an off-white cotton satin that nearly drove me mad.
Here you can see the front: [link]
And the back: [link]

I still need to make the ropa - probably from black velvet, lined with the white satin - the hood and the hat, and perhaps a new ruff.
I guess I'm not going to make an extra skirt for it, I'm going to wear a hoop skirt with a plain black satin overskirt that I still have. The ropa will be draped over that base skirt, like Rubens' Wife wears it on the painting ... I think no style would be better for Antwerp than this.

Of course, the gown will be for WGT as well, and Goettertanz at my favourite club here (perhaps I can finish the gown until the next one).
Which means I need another one or two gowns for WGT.
The first one is the pinstripe francaise I finished in september: [link]

But I have to think about something to cover my cleavage so I can wear my white make-up. Although I like the way I look on the pictures from Empire Art ( [link] ) I don't want to go there without my white face, not even for one day. The Make-Up has become a part of me and it really has a meaning for me.

Well, I already have some ideas for the other gowns, one will be named "Joan of Arc" but I still need something for it, which I sadly can't find
I don't know if I make that for WGT (because I just don't know where and when to find the missing material thing), but I already planned a special shooting with that gown, because it more and more developped an own story that should be recorded in pictures - preferably from a really good photographer. I already talked to one, so wish me a lot of luck that she's interested

For the other gowns ... let's see. I thought of something black and violet to go over a large panier, that should fit my royal violet stays: [link] (Black underskirt with violet satin ribbon trims, and a draped overskirt, opened in front, from black and violet striped fabric)
And an interpretation of Isabel of Spain: [link] - a gown that I planned to make last year for Gala Nocturna, but I had no time to make anything new then. And I still have no clue how the skirt support would have looked like to get that shape. My large panier surely is not suitable for that.

Not to forget the violet elizabethan gown that I started about 2 1/2 years ago: <a href="http://www.deviantart.com/users/outgoing?http://i22.photobucke...

It's been a while since I've updated my journal here, but I didn't have a lot of time.

But I do have new sewing plans, of course

The next Gala Nocturna in Antwerp will be at 20. February 2010, and of course, I will be at WGT next year, just like every year.

As in my last entry, I'm selling some of my handmade gowns, I need a little more free space for new projects, the next WGT is coming, and I want to replace some of my old rococo clothes.
I already have new plans. I'd like to stay with late rococo only and lay a lot more attention on historical accuracy, now that I know a lot more what I want

Just follow the links for more information on the gowns, they will lead you to the matching deviation here.

Prices are without shipping costs, because they vary depending on the country you live in.
Please keep in mind that I'm from Germany

I don't have paypal, yet, but I'm planning to get an account some day. If someone who has paypal, wants some of my gowns, I will get an account myself the next days.

So here's what I'm offering you:

SOLD:
Striped Robe a la Polonaise: [link]
Can be worn in anglaise style as well, comes together with the green skirt, but you need the right underwear for it.
75 Euro for both pieces

SOLD
Printed Caraco with grey skirt: [link]
Here again, you neeed rococo underwear
75 Euro for both pieces

RESERVED
Then again I have a black vinyl corset for sale: [link]
Minimum waist measurement is 53cm / 21inches <- wold be helpful if you could write me a note with your measurements, if you like it. Then I can tell you if you would fit in.
60 Euro

And, I still have those two victorian gowns to sell:

Victorian ballgown, worn a few times (is completely black, not violet ): 300 Euros:

[link]
[link]

Victorian Natural Form Gown, worn only once: 300 Euros:

[link]

I know, it's a lot of money for the last two gowns, but it took a long time to finish them and there's really a lot of fabric used. Perhaps we could come to an arrangement, like (partly) trading for fabrics or supplies that I cannot get so easily here. Feel free to ask me, we can talk about everything

Wahhhhhhhh, just saw that Otto Dix is announced for this years WGT .. so greaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat ... wohaaaaaaaaaaaaa .... yeaaaaaaaaaaaaah ... (just read if you don't understand what I mean )

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

At first I want to thank everyone who put me on their watchlist recently, I just don't have the time to leave a comment on every single artist's page, but I try to answer every comment on my work

At the moment, my sewing projects need to wait, although I try to make at least one seam per day, but ~Rasgrashbo and me are going to move about next week and we have to pack our things together so that moving will be done as quick as possible.
And I hope that I will have more time to sew then.

But WGT comes quickly ... about 80 days left and I have lots of plans for new stuff, and I NEED to finish at least as much to have something to wear for 4 days.

I still started working on an elizabethan gown, made of violet silk, I've finished the skirt and the bodice is waiting for new silver braid that I have to order first, but I think I will do that after we moved.
If you are curious about that gown, take a look at this: [link]
The color is much more fantastic in real

Then I started working on a tudor-style gown, made of black velvet with some kind of golden pinstripes, the skirt is almost finished, I hope I can do that today, I wanted to sew much more that weekend but I ended up staying in front of the computer, watching videos on youtube and looking for pics (crazy on Otto Dix at the moment .. read further on )

I would be happy if I could at least finish those two gowns for WGT. Apart from that I want to wear my emerald green rococo-jacket which still needs a skirt and a black fichu. I haven't uploaded a picture of the jacket itself yet, I think I'll do that later, although I wanted to show the whole gown when it's completed first.
The fourth gown should be 1000% goth *g* means, all over black, on a hoop skirt, a big veil and eyery little piece of skin apart from tha face covered, up to the chin

Might be that, in the end I change plans once more and exchange one gown for something that has no hoop skirt or any skirt support underneath, if there's a day with too many concerts where large skirts would be a bad idea.

And of course corsets ... I started on a new one recently, although I wanted to wait. But I just had to ... here's the story how I got the idea:
Recently; I heard about a quite new band from Russia. I first heard them two weeks ago as I sat in a friend's car as we wanted to go out in the evening. I was amazed, and I already knew the band's name but never heard some of their stuff before.
The next day I told my boyfriend and searched them on myspace and the rest of the web, and then I saw pictures .. and I fell in love with them *g*
I'm talking about Otto Dix, you really should check them out:
on myspace: [link]
and last.fm: [link]

And don't miss to see their pictures ... this guy is amazing, his outfit, his voice .. the whole music itself ... .. and once again I'm embarassed that I can't wear white contact lenses, it just looks soooooooo great

OK, back to the corset ... the next day I sat in front of my computer at work and suddendly had this idea, I hardly could concentrate on my code because my brain didn't stop working on a design for a new corset ... and it is inspired by Otto Dix .. white satin with black decorations and "blackwork"-embroidery with a special pattern <img src="http://e.deviantart.com/emoticons/b/biggrin.gif" width="15" height="15" a...

Seems like I won't have as much time for sewing in the future because my happy student's days are over and I will start to work in january ...

Bad enough, I need a new gown for Gala Nocturna at 24th of january. It's not that I have no idea what to do - i have too much!
The first idea was a gorgeous gown from Isabel of Spain: [link]

But I would need silk and really many time because of all the great details on that piece.

The next idea would be something black, over a large panier, but not from a certain period.

Then I thought of early 17th century again with a small wheel farthingale, but not historical correct. But I wonder if I could sit in a car with a wheel farthingale at all, even if it's quite small. The Gala is in Kontich, Belgium, about 10 minutes to drive from Antwerpen and our hotel is there because Kontich is too small to have any hotels or similar stuff.

And I recently got some gorgeous long gloves, black leather with gold embroidery, so I thought about something in black and gold, but I have no idea apart from black and gold so far.

The next thing is that damned time problem. So perhaps I should finish something that I started working on about 9 months ago or so: elizabethan, made from violet silk, inspired by the pelican portrait from Elizabeth I.

I just don't know what to do, or perhaps I should think about another gown and make that because I can't decide what to make ...

Aaand my boyfriend got a better camera. Sadly it's much too cold these days to go out and make pictures with gowns, I hope that there will be some snow because I still need good pictures of my red baroque gown and we already have some ideas - which need snow *sigh*

But feel free to visit my boyfriend here:

I've had no time to thank every single one but I do appreciate every watch and every favourite
It feels good to know that there are people who like my work at that time I feel a little bit like being stranded on a desert island and just doing my stuff without being noticed

But you surely won't like to hear any details of my chaotic life, so let's go on with the interesting things: work in progress and upcoming plans:

Before I'll tell you about my sewing plans I'd like to announce that my boyfriend started to do photography.
You've surely seen the first results in my gallery. He's doing fine although our equipment is really funny at the time *g* but the results surprised me a lot.
I've got more pictures but I prefer waiting until he's made his account here on DA to upload them himself

And now for some sewing stuff:
Actually in progress is the commissioned robe a la francaise I've talked about one journal entry before.
The jupe (skirt) is finished, the manteau needs to be hemmed and decorated and then only the stomacher is missing. I hope the future owner will like it I do so far, but it's the wrong colour for me .. lucky for my customer because that keeps me from wearing it my own

And I'm working on a bustle gown that should be for myself at first but after some time I somehow thought that I surely would not wear it. It is black and deep red and has uniform details. I will sell it when it's finished, but perhaps I'll get some nice pics of me in it first
I also started on a black and white striped robe a la polonaise, a little similar to the famous striped gown that can be seen in „Sleepy Hollow“, but it won't be an exact reproduction, only something similar.
I have to say that I'm going to sell that gown as well, I only need some other striped fabric for a new skirt to exchange the already finished one that I now use for another gown in progress. But that particular fabric was not the best solution for a nearly entirely handsewn silk robe a l'anglaise so I can give the skirt away with the polonaise later, I just bought more of that striped fabric than I needed for the skirt because it was quite affordable and I had to do something with the excess material. And no, I won't wear that striped gown as well, it's much too bright to feel comfortable in it, I only wanted to make it

In between those gowns I'm still making everyday clothes for myself, now that it gets colder and I have made so many skirts that I would like to wear in fall and perhaps winter as well, I need some more drawers to wear underneath. They are really very comfortable if you're a little used to them

New plans:

Baroque, 1660's .. still, I have the materials in my stash. Only the fabric for an underskirt is missing, but that's no problem, I can wear my old ones until I've found something.

A very late victorian gown, I found something in &#132<img src="http://e.dev...

I'm not much into "fetish"-goth clothes (well, not any more) but otherwise I think the idea is quite nice ... otherwise I made that vinyl skirt some days ago, I made it to go over my hoop skirt and I think it turned out quite nice ...
This year's WGT was wonderful, and exhausting - as usual.
We started on thursday, the 8. 5. at about 11. a.m. and so I arrived at my accommondation at 1:30 p.m, it's not too far to drive from here.

I stayed at a university student's appartment, together with two other women, I already knew one from my favourite forum but saw her the first time.
Our host has two cats as well and they literally loved my hoop skirts ... well, cats

In the evening we went to the Agra to get our wristbands already and then had a glass of wine in the city centre before we got to sleep, there already were parties on that day but the following ones should be exhausting enough.

On friday, we first went to a victorian picknick that was organised by Viona. It was great, the meadow in front of the Parkschlösschen was filled with people wearing wonderful gowns. I could talk to a few people I only knew from the internet as well, but I wish I had the time to talk to some more , nevertheless it was the perfect start for WGT 2008. Viona took a lot of pictures and we changed a few words, I'm already looking forward to her pictures but I guess it will take a little time until she puts them up, I'm sure she must have made a million pictures

Later there should be some kind of court ball with historic dances at the Parkschloß but they started a lot later than we expected. Nevertheless it was great, that ball was announced quite short before WGT but I was very curious about it. Funny enough they taught the people mainly english country dances (or Playford dances, if anyone of you knows that name ...) just like I've expected, because most Playford dances are quite simple and are a lot of fun. I nearly died as I realised that I've learned many of those dances already at our historic dancing group, but first I had no one to dance with .. we just had not enough gentlemen ...
Luckily I found someone to dance with later.

After that ball the first neo-romantic party took place at the same location. Just like the historic ball those parties were announced very late but it made me extremely happy. I already was angry because of the bad program that year but those parties and the ball just saved my WGT.
Funny enough, the first party was made by Tom Manegold, the guy who is responsible for the music at my favourite club here, and therefore he is responsible for the famous Göttertanz as well. Like I expected he made a gorgeous party, I could have stayed on the dancefloor all night.. if I didn't have to rest from time to time and have a drink ... OK, in some ways it's a little funny to drive to Leipzig to go to a Göttertanz, but it was great, Tom had a good evening and only played gorgeous music that night.

I wore my "Robe a la Gothique" that day and I managed to damage my pocket hoops because of excessive dancing .. the first steel bone decided to flee right at the court ball, I managed to put it away before the next dance, but on the other day I realised that another bone was missing ... well, seems like I have to repair some things now ...

We arrived at our accommodation later as we expected that night, and I think it would have been wiser not to have another glass of wine at the end ...

On Saturday we first went to Schillerpark right at the city centre because I wanted to meet some people from another forum. There were lots of photographers and I guess I've spent half of the time looking into camera lenses. Later I found a picture of me at the homepage of a well known magazine in Germany, called the "Spiegel" .. well,, why not, I was wearing my red baroque gown that day and really was proud of my perfectly white skin, I don't think you could see any centimetre of my natural face colour *arrogant grin*
At first I feared that it would be too warm for tons of cotton velvet, but luckily it was OK, I guess because I only used natural fibres for that gown, there's not a little bit polyester used and so it was good to wear even at temperatures where the girls prefered extremely short skirts
After the meeting we stayed a little bit at the Moritzbastei to get something to eat and drink and afterwards we spent the remaining time until the first of two (!) concerts I wanted to see started with visiting a few fabric stores *cough* .. OK, we didn't buy anything but I saw a few quite nice fabrics and imme...

Not much time until this years WGT, I'm really excited and looking forward to it because it's a very special event that you cannot compare to any ordinary music festival

If you don't know what WGT is, have a look here: [link]

There's an english version of the page as well

I haven't made much new stuff for WGT this year because I still have enough gowns to show off and it always depends on the weather, 2006 was awfully cold and last year hot like hell, something in between and without rain would be great, luckily I have a proper accomodation because camping would be impossible with my wardrobe and I really hate camping as well ...

Sadly this year no bands from Cold Meat, which is my favourite music label will be there but there are still some bands worth seeing them, I only hope I can find someone who will come with me to the powerelectronics/ambient concerts this year, I hardly know people who like that kind of music because ... well, you really have to like noise that sonds much more like an exploding car factory than the stuff ordinary people would call music

But the few program points that are published so far are interesting as well, "La Traviata" at Gewandhaus and a concert called "French Soiree", and then there will be a renaissance music concert at Thomaskirche, so it will be a much more cultural WGT this year

And on WGT-friday Viona wants to make a picknick, if there's no other event that I have to see I will be there as well. Let's hope the weather will be good

I'm really very relieved because first it looked like I could not go there because a friend who wanted to make the reservations for our hotel rooms forgot to tell me that they were already taken ... luckily I found something on my own last week.

Now I only have to finish a few minor stuff until WGT ...

The last thing I have to say is a really sad one.
Perhaps some of you who read my last journal entry remember that my cat was ill.
Finally he left this world 3 weeks ago.

I miss him so much, he was not a pet but part of the family and my dear friend since I was 16, surely one of the few beings that were extremely important for me ...

He didn't have to suffer much and he kept his dignity until the end ... just as he always was.
Perhaps it may sound strange to some that I say something like that concerning a cat, but our relationship was very special and he had a wonderful character, more like a human being.
You can find some pictures and a painting of him in my gallery, I think I will upload another one these days.

I will never forget you, Felix my beloved friend.

Finally, after the whole year was quite bad for me so far, I am sure things will get better now ...

So I'm sitting here at my parents in the cellar, looking for the next bottle of wine because I'm angry that I have to sit here while it's Göttertanz in my favourite club, I have no chance to get there, even if my father would give me a car I have the problem that the weather is awful, it's snowing here since thursday.
And I'm worried because my beloved cat is ill, actually he's sitting under my bed. I think he's better now and I really hope that everything will be OK again soon, I love that furry creature so much he first was ill at the end of february and he soon got better, but now it looks as if it's still the same sh** .. he lost a lot of weight and I hope that he will start eating again soon.

(BTW don't worry abou the "next" bottle of wine, the last one was quite empty so I only had one glass since now

I was looking forward to see ~Weinglasarien and ~black-maille at Göttertanz and a few other friends and of course to dress up and dance to good music because I don't have the chance to go out very often as well.

So I'm sitting here, staring at some stuff to sew but look at the TV and the computer else, looking for nothing really serious on the internet (and after having watched the Stargate Movie again I had the almost ridiculous idea to make a costume again I made from that movie many years ago .. no I don't have a picture in my gallery here, it's one of the white egyptian influenced dresses worn by men in the movie ... perhaps those of you who know it remember that costumes.. normally I hate costumes an I would never consider one of my historical or even gothic gowns in my gallery as costumes, they are just gowns for special events but I think I just have to think about ANYTHING today ... I don't know if I would ever wear it ... only for making pictures if I find a photographer who thinks the idea is funny )

But now for something different ... this years WGT will come soon, and of course I'm already looking forward to it, I hope the weather will be good, not too cold, no rain and not as hot as last year, but if I could choose i would rather like hot weather than cold and rainy, but I would be glad if I could wear my red baroque gown without dying from heat.

I have one other gown in planning state for WGT, I will get the fabric at the beginning of april, hopefully. It's nothing special, just plain black cotton fabric.
The gown shpuld be a buslte dress, but a very special one with lots of buckles and bondage ribbons on it.
My first idea for a bustle gown like that was vinyl, but then I saw that others had that idea to and I would surely die in
a gown completely made of vinyl.
Then I'm going to take my violet Francaise to Leipzig as well, at least it depends on the weather ...

At the moment I don't have much clothes in planning state so far, only the bondage bustle gown and a few everyday clothes because i made so much historical stuff the last time that I hardly made everyday clothes so I desperately need some new ones (yes, I make almost everything I wear myself ) .. I already made a skirt after a 1890's pattern but I need an underskirt for it as well, I'm planning to make more historical inspired everyday stuff apart from gothic-standard clothes like buckled trousers and laced velvet shirts
But I have tons of unfinished stuff, like two corsets, two frock coats and even much more, so I have to finish some of that first .

And I'm going to make more pictures next week, I found two photographers from model-kartei.de who were interested, I hope the weather will be OK then because the pictures will be taken outdoors.

And I started on the next card from my tarot project, it really is not an easy subject, if I ever finish the complete deck I will be old and grey I fear, but a lot wiser than now +gg* .. even if I thought that after working about 13 years with the tarot I know everything about it I had to learn that I know nothing ... makes it even more interesting to stick to that project

Well, the weekend was great, and very exhausting as well.

We started early at 7:30 a.m. here, a time where I usually sleep, but I'm surprised that I managed to get up that early .. I guess I just was too excited

We drove about 6 hours from here to Antwerp, with a few little breaks and a bigger one for having something to eat (OK, I used the friday before to make pizza ... MANY pizza so I had my bag full of it, which rescued one of my friends later *gg* .. I have to say that I can't cook, not even the tiniest bit, normally my food ends up burned, but the only thing I really can make is pizza .. yes, I mean making the dough and everything myself ).

We arrived at our hotel at about 2.30 p.m.. The hotel was a quite small one and they had a cat .. OK, I have to say that the cat didn't look good, it was some kind of race with so short fur that he almost looked like naked, but he was a very friendly cat (he was named "Bartok", after the famous composer Bela Bartok).

After that we took a short walk, which was really good after that long time in the car.

Then it was time to start dressing up for the evening, but first I had to help my friend with my pizza. She was the one who drove, the whole distance and so she really was exhausted.

It was very funny as we returned to the hotel from our walk, we suddendly saw a group of three persons, dressed in black as we were .
As we got nearer we realised that we knew those three, they go to the same club as we use to do and so we knew each other, and they had rooms in the same hotel as we had

We left to the Gala at about 8 p.m.. It took place in a little town not far from Antwerp, called Kontich, inside a really amazing old chapel.

We only had to wait very long until we could go in because they had to look for every single visitor on a reservation list.
Although I really wore a lot of velvet, linen and silk, it was awfully cold. Wearing Pikes in such a cold weather is not the best you can do.

The evening was wonderful, although we could not see most of the shows. There was a tribal dance group and fashion shows from Viona herself ( well, you could see her dresses in real and not as usual on her photographs), Vecona (a german fashion designer I know from a forum here), and some weird lolita shop (sorry to all lolitas out there, it's just not my style ).

I met a few people I only knew from the internet so far, only Viona seemed to have too much to do on that evening, I only saw here twice ...

Sadly the music was not soo good at the end .. to much EBM and techno-like stuff. It just didn't fit in, not to the location and not to all those people dressed in beautiful gowns. I would have expected more stuff like neoclassic, ritual and neofolk, but OK, I hope next time will be better, almost everyone I spoke to was dissappointed of the music.

We came back to the hotel at about 1:30 a.m., we just were too tired to stay much longer and we really didn't like the music.

The next morning we took long time for breakfast, we met our friends again wo said that they stayed much longer than we did, bit the music didn't change much.
After that we packed our stuff and started to drive back home.

On our way we made a break at a friend who invited us to stay for lunch.
We left her at about 3:30 p.m. and drove the remaining distance with only a few short breaks and so we arrived home at about 8 p.m.

Although the music really was not our taste, it was a wonderful evening and I would love to visit the Gala again. The old chapel really is worth it, and I hope that the music will be better next time (my friend told me, that the first Gala had great music, she was there )

She made some pictures of us, but I don't have them yet.
In the meantime, just have a look on this:

[link]

[link]

[link]

<a href="http://picasaweb.google.nl/Franky.Ketels/BalNoc...

.. ok, one week and two days from now on
But I'm really looking forward to the Gala and I'm very very excited.

Well, but I hve to say that I made another new gown for the Gala .. I just could not resist *blushes* at least after I've heard who will be there as well.
I'm sure you want to know what kind of gown it is ... remember my last journal entry? And remember my wishlist? .. and remember ~LumiaVita 's comment that she's sure that I'll start with one of the gowns on my wishlist within a few days?

She was completely right I fear.

An here's the original painting that I tried to recreate: [link]

I don't have pictures so far with me inside the gown, I hope I will have some after the Gala (and if I'm lucky, from Viona herself, if not my friends surely will take some ) but I have some pics from the single parts for you in the meantime:

Doublet: [link]
Skirt: [link]

OK, what else ... yes, still unfinished stuff (more than ever *sigh*):

- my black velvet uniform frock coat
- my regency frock coat
- dark green "cut" velvet dress (a.k.a. the Absinth Gown)
- italian renaissance inspired gown (nearly finished)
- a black and violet skirt to go over my hoop skirt
- a white satin corset with black applied motifs

Plans: many, really many .. almost the same than on my last journal entry, luckily I have canes for a french farthingale now.

Commissions:

- a victorian day dress bodice
- a men's suit
- an elizabethan gown
- a rococo riding habit
- a few corsets ...

OK, I have no idea what to write else ... perhaps I'll just add something the next days

OK, writing a new journal entry when I'm feeling incredibly tired but also feeling very strange because of a little bit too much coffee might not be a good idea, but I'm doing it anyway ... perhaps I have to correct hundreds of typing mistakes tomorrow

OK, whats new ...

Sewing Projects:

- dark purple Robe a la Francaise, historically not correct:
should be finished until 22th of december, the next Göttertanz, or at least at 26th of January because I'm visting the Gala Nocturna ([link] ... I'm sooo happy that I can visit the Gala ) then and I need something really spectacular to wear there
Luckily the gown is nearly finished, the manteau needs the rest of trims and has to be hemmed, and I need a chemise to wear underneath ... and a good idea what to do with my hair *sigh*
FINISHED AND SUBMITTED

- elizabethan surcoat:
I'm working on the buttons which really takes a lot of time ... I've inished the buttons for the first sleeve, which are 20 ones, the whole surcoat will have around 100 buttons when finished

- my winter coat *sigh* .. luckily my mother said that she's going to finish it for me ...

- THE purple gown:
Haven't worked on it any more so everything still looks like on the pics in my scraps.

-Absinth-Dress: quite easy dress, made from a butterick pattern that tries to look a little like turn-of-the-centuries evening dress.
It's made of very dark green "cut" velvet (OK, not really cut velvet ... I can't remember the right word now, perhaps it's "devoree" ... ) hence the name ...

- Robe a L'Anglaise, still lying around because I need to unpick the sleeves one more time ... but the seams are handmade and that keeps me from undoing them at the moment *sigh*

-Working class elizabethan clothes: the skirt is finished completely, everything handsewn. I need the bodice, a new chemise, a partlet with a tiny ruff to make the chemise look like a high necked one, a partlet to go over the bodice, sleeves, a petticoat, some kind of hat to wear over the hood .. might take some time until everyhing is finished, but I don't need the dress at the moment.

- a lot of minor stuff: elizabethan stays (FINISHED and submitted ), an evening bodice that I made without a matching skirt so far (needs the sleeves and trims), a black and violet skirt to go over my hoop skirt (nearly finished, but the fact that the waist became much too big made me throw it into the next corner that wasn't able to flee in time ... ) ,

Forthcoming plans:

- 1936's dinner dress.
I found it in "Patterns of Fashion: 1860-1940" and immediately fell in love with it, although I'm not very fond of the fashions after 1900 .. normally.

- a gown in the style of italian renaissance, all over black with different fabrics.

- new bustle gowns for going out in the evening, at the moment I'm wearing my 3 black bustle gowns in turn *sigh*
I've got some ideas for 3 new ones now, let's see what the results are when I'm at my parents around christmas ... I need something to sew there

- baroque gown (1660), in black silk and trimmed with silver metal braid (both already in my stash). I need some stiff linen for lining the bodice which will be constructed quite similar to stays, and perhaps some lighter linen for the skirt ...

On my wishlist, but not in planning state so far:

- this one: [link]
- a 1590's elizabethan gown
- a Robe a la Francaise, historically accurate (anyone give me the money for the silk? )
- two rococo riding habits, already started to plan but backlogged because of my lack of suitable fabrics and other things to do.

(I'm sure I forgot really very much ... )

Commissions:

- a corset
- a tutu
- a men's suit
- rococo riding habit

Well, quite a lot of work ... like ususal <img src="http://e.deviantar...

Edit: I've uploaded some pics of my purple gown I'm actually working on.
If you're curious, take a look

*sigh* a new semester started - again, sometimes I wonder where time has gone
I have a few trouble with bureaucracy concerning my studies, I always hate that, the offices at university are mostly too slow and often enough even don't know what they should do with "exotic" requests ... I wish they wouldn't bother me with all that forms to fill and whatever else ...

Bureaucracy is a good (or better: bad) point, at the moment I'm trying to get a trade license here so that I can take comissions officially. It's some kind of a dream for me because I wanted that for some years now but I never dared until I saw that some people did that who make clothes for about 2 or 3 years now, and I'm sewing for a longer time than those girls.

OK, getting that license is not the problem, the chamber of crafts is, I'm not good with bureucratic stuff so I hope my dad can help me, I'm already waiting for a call so I can go and get that license ... germany has a really complicated bureaucracy ..

Of course, I'm already planning what to do with that license .. I'd like to make custom corsets (of course ) historic and historically inspired clothing, gothic gowns, everything individual stuff that doesn't exist another time.

I hope everything will be good with my plans

My to-sew list is as big as usual, I already have some comissions for friends so far:

- a renaissance chemise that has to be finished tomorrow (finished, luckily in time)
- a victorian chemise (almost finished)
- a complete (modern) suit with 5 pieces (men's corset and skirt included)
- a rococo riding habit for a friend who wants to visit the carnival in venice in february
- a few corsets, I'm still waiting for life signs from most of that ladies *hmmmpf*

And I've sold my grey and black bustle dress: [link] I only wore it one time for a few hours and now it is in my wardrobe for about 2-3 years, I don't think I will wear it again so it's better to give it to someone who has use for it and I have the space for a new dress that suits me better (*thinks of tons of black velvet - like ususal* )

And there's still stuff for me:

- the robe a l'anglaise ... nearly finished, but I have problems with the sleeves, I hope it will be better with the stays underneath because I only tried it on without the stays ... else I have to undo the sleeve seams, which would be especially annoying because everything was sewn with my own hands.

- tudor working class: the skirt is finished so far, next step will be the bodice, the I need a new chemise for that.

- dark violet robe a la francaise ... a mock piece to get a little used to the technique of making a francaise, but it should be wearable, of course, even if it's far from being historically suitable, I think it will make a great dress for going out and the next WGT
The jupe is finished, the manteau needs sleeves and I have to baste it to the lining in the back.

-THE purple gown of course I haven't worked much on it in the meantime

-my winter coat *sigh* it's already quite cold here so I really should finish it now ..

-uniform-like velvet frock coat, needs to be finished for half a year now, perhaps it will work if I want to wear it at Cold Meat Festival at 17.11 in Augsburg (.. seeing Coph Nia again in concert sounds great, doesn't it? )

-regency suit, has to be finished until wednesday, I on...

*Weinglasarien tagged me ... more about that later

Last weekend, there was that rococo event here ... quite a big group with people from all over germany and some even from more far away (as far as I know, someone was from scotland ) came here for spending a weekend in the 18th century.
I didn't take part in that officially .. at first I was asked if I wanted to do one of the servants for the soiree on friday evening, but a few things went wrong, at first I was asked quite short before and I don't have much rococo stuff so far, so I hurried to make a plain jacked and a hood to hide my violet hair but no one told me where and when to come on that evening, so I spent it at home with my boyfriend and some wine, quite a little embarrased.

The next day I tried to meet some of the people .. I had a nice walk in the park of a small rococo palace here with my boyfriend where some of the group wanted to come. We nearly wanted to leave as we saw the group, so I followed them and could talk to some of them ... finally someone told me that they had a ticket for the opera on that evening left over because someone went ill ... luckily I could go with the even if I had no proper evening dress, only my long caraco jacket with the red mittens
The opera was great, I was so happy that I could go there and after that weekend I feel a little more comfortable with the 18th century, although my favourite period surely will remain the late 16th century.

Luckily I met *Weinglasarien and her boyfriend at the opera.

Well, OK, what else ... oh, my first performance with the renaissance dance group.
It was horrible, we were dancing at a small village which celebrated their 1000th anniversary ([link]) . We had two performances, the first one just wasn't noticed .. not that no one watched us, there were so many people that they didn't hear our music and strange enough they even didn't notice that those people in odd clothes were dancing .. suddendly a guy stood in between our group and was aked by another angry dancer if he wanted to dance with us ... he really didn't realize what went on here, and my skirt got winded up in a bicycle wheel as a whole family with bikes tried to make their way through the mass of people - of course as close to us as they could
Luckily my dress is OK, I don't know what would have happened otherwise.
Not to mention the many comments that it surely must have looked like that when medieaval princesses had a party at their castle *sigh*

So much on the latest news here ...

My newest sewing plans are:

- Middle class elizabethan clothing, kirtle made from grey wool, white linen coif, white linen chemise and if I find some suitable fabric an overgown.
At the moment, the coif is finished and the skirt only needs a strip of black velvet.

- rococo robe a l'anglaise, made from violet and green shot silk. I came across that idea after the opera weekend. I found the silk in my stash, it is nearly entirely handsewn, but I need some silk for a skirt, I only have enough silk for the anglaise itself.

- still THE purple gown, I haven't worked much on it the last time, apart from a few silver threads on the overskirt.

- some rococo accessoires ... a mantelet and a proper bergere, the basic stray hat will hopefully arrive next week, a fellow costumer ordered some things from Silly Sisters.
And a skirt for my striped jacket, I'm going to upload it later

- black 1660's baroque gown. I found some nice gold lace yesterday, I don't know if I will use it for that gown because its no real metal ...

- victorian pagoda bodice in black velvet .. for gothic-dress use

- a black and violet gothic hoop skirt overskirt

It's a very gloomy day today and I'm in a quite adequate mood for this weather .. for some reasons. At first I don't feel so good today (no worries, nothing serious, only something quite natural - if you're female ) and the weather just sucks, it should be summer, one month ago it was hot like hell and now I wish I had already finished my winter coat ...

Well, I haven't done very much the last days, I finished two little comissions, nothing big, a pair of vinyl pants for a friend I know from this years WGT and a hoop skirt for one of my fellow renaissance dancers.
On 28th of august I will have my first performance with that group, I'm really looking forward to it although I only had two hours to learn the choreographies .. luckily I'm still fast with learning that stuff and the dances are far more simple that the ones we had to do at ballet.
I hope that everything works good; I still fear that something might go wrong if I have to dance in my elizabethan gown *shivers*

And finally I gave off my commissions for the band that was interested in clothes for their performances and even were interested in having me on stage as well.
There are several reasons, a big one is time, because I know that I tend to do too much things at the same time and there are some really awfull subjects from my studies for which I should start to learn soon (electrotechnology, thermodynamics .. to mention some of te most ugly ones *sigh*).
Another reason for me was the fact that these guys didn't seem to know how much work it is and that a good idea never comes on demand. At least it should have been 3-4 gowns for 4 people.
I listended to the CD as often as I could without doing anything else, just concetration on the music to wait for an inspiration that perfectly fitted their concept and is unique and doesnt look like a boring, ordinary elvish dress.
It took a month for me to get one good idea that was clear enough to draw it, but then an email reached me with the request to send the CD back so that the band could give it to others who are more interested than me .. OK, I didn't want to start a quarrel because I felt it was not worth the energy, the guys knew that I had to do those two little comissions first, I needed the money and I told them before but I didn't get a reply to that message.
At least they couldn't pay me for their clothes, which was OK for me because the whole thing seemed to be quite interesting and could have been a very special experience.
Now, the CD went back. I'm not angry, and I'm not sad about that as well, I somehow feel relieved, the whole thing confused me so much, so I doubt that I would have ever fitted in their concept.
I wish them luck with finding another tailor and success for their project, honestly.

If there's another chance out there for me that I feel more comfortable with, I will find it anytime, I'm sure as well
Now it's more important for me to complete my degree until the study drives me mad (well, if that's possible anyway .. )

Of course, there are still sewing projects and other stuff as well ...
I'm still waiting for some informations for nothing less than five corset commisions, one lady moved recently, two are very busy and I hope they didn't forget me

I'm still planning a black 1660s gown, I need silver lace with real metal thread which is hard to find and quite expensive, but I already have the silk now.

Then I want an elizabethan loose kirtle with surcoat which was quite common in Germany, I only have two fox furs for the coat (yes, real fur, but from happy foxes who lived their lifes in the woods, my uncle is hunter and had the furs left)
The kirtle should be silver grey silk and hand embroidered, the coat black velvet with fur trims., but I have no fabric at that time and I don't need the gown for a special event now.

Nest is an 1700s hunting gown, I started on the justaucorps which is made from black wool and should be lined with white silk. I'm still waiting for the silk, one of the ladies who commissioned a corset wanted to pay me with some meters of white silk.
The skirt will be black as well, the shirt white of course and the waistcoat bright red, I already have the materials and perhaps I can cheat with the shirt beacuse I made a late rococo men's shirt for me last year. It's not quite the right era but it will do for the first time.
If I get some more black wool I will make a pair of culottes to wear the dress as a man's suit as well <img src="http://e.deviantart.co...

At the moment it's very hot here. Normally I like summer and hot weather but some days are just too hot. Makes it hard to think and move and I feel like I've lost about two weeks ... they just passed by ...

Well, there's no great news so far .. OK there might be one great thing but I'm still not sure about what that will lead to ... some weeks ago I had a commission for a idustrial/ambient band here who wanted clothes for their performance.
I've met them in the meantime and it was very interesting. Might be that my part will not only be the tailor, perhaps I will be on the stage as well but there's nothing sure at that time ... and I'm a little confused .. OK it would be great to be on stage again, I really miss that but ... hmm, let's see what will come.

OK, about my sewing projects:

I've finished a Natural Form dress today and I hope that I can make good pictures to submit the next days. It looks good so far, I've worked more that a month on it but it was really worth it.

And there are news about THE purple gown: I've finished the second sleeve:
[link]
and I started on working on the forepart:
[link]
[link]
I see so many "elizabethan" gowns but no one really tried to do it the hard way -- just like original gowns were made.
So I decided to do it and work on embroidery untill I get mad ... let's see how far I come ... or if it is possible to become even more insane than I actually am *gg*

OK, that's it for now ...

Sorry, I forgot something:

I am a member of these great clubs:

I came back from the WGT in Leipzig yesterday, very tired and exhausted, but also very, very happy
I really had a great time and I'm going to give you a report on what I did during these 4 days ..

Friday, 25th of March

We left my hometown quite early at 8am towards Leipzig. Luckily it's only about 2 hours to drive from here.
First I had to get the key to my accomodation. I stayed at a friend's of my boyfriend who came home on saturday evening, so she left the key to her appartment at a friend's.
The lady who drove stayed somewhere else than me.

After I've made myself a little comfortable and called my boyfriend, I got ready to get to the city centre.
It was incredibly hot, so I chose a bustle ballgown for that day. OK, it was hot enough in that dress, but wearing short skirts and tons of fishnet stockings is definately not my style
I met some friends at the Moritzbastei, we stayed at the cafe there where it was a little cooler - almost all of us wore bustle dresses.
Later we went to the Agra to have a short look on what's going on there.
Then we went to our accomodations to change the big gowns into something more practical to see the lightshow at the Völkershclachtdenkmal.
That huge monument was illuminated to music of In the Nursery .. very impressive, but it started to rain very heavily and it stopped exactly when the show was over ...

I was at "home" around midnight, had a glass of wine and fell alseep afterward immediately.

Saturday, 26th of March
I got up around 10:30 am, had a very relaxed breakfast, called my boyfriend and then got ready for the day. I decided to wear a satin and lace skirt over my spanish farthingale, together with a shirt with huuuuuuuuuuuuuge lace sleeves and the black velvet corset and a very long veil in my hair. I couldn't take my ususal goth hoop skirt because it was just too big, so the farthingale had to do the job.
Sadly I couldn't wear that gown like it was indended to be - with an elaborate blouse with standing collar and long velvet cuffs together with my dark violet frock coat, it was just too hot.
First I had an appointment with a lady from the Pfingstgeflüster-Magazine ( [link] ), that concentrates on the WGT only. They wanted an interview with someone who makes the clothes herself instead of buying everything. I met her on friday accidentially at the Moritzbastei, she saw me as I strolled along with my bustle gown and lace parasol, and called me (we exchanged the numbers before via email) because she identified me from the pics on my homepage.
So we talked a while, then made the interview and later we discovered that her favourite band is the same as mine *gg* so we could had a good topic to talk on ... as long as she is a part time journalist for gothic magazines here, she's met Adrian Hates in person for a few times and told me some really interesting things about him so I hope to meet him in person even more that before ...
OK, afterwards I went to a meeting from a forum here, and because I was alone I acompanied some people from that meeting. After a stop in an cafe the group split up and me and another lady where left. She wanted to go to a concert outdoor first, but the weather didn't look good, so she followed me to the Schauspielhaus.
I wanted to see Rosa Crux there ( [link] ) and I was overwhelmed .. I have never seen such a great performance before, the music was just as impressive as the show itself, just check their website, I have no words to describe that ...
I still don't know how my accompanist liked that, I guess it wasn't quite her taste .. you just have to like Rosa Crux .. or not
Later I met some friends at the Moritzbastei but we left quite early.
At "home" I met my host and her boyfriend, we talked for a while and after my glass of wine on the balcony (it rained, a really wonderfull night) for the evening I fell asleep, still overwhelmed from that concert.

Sunday, 27th of May

Again, I had a lazy morning, drinking tea on the balcony, got ready for the day and headed to UT...

.. Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig [link] as I said many, many times before *gg* sorry for mentioning that so many times now, but I'm really excited and I' looking forward to that event.

My clothes are nearly finished, today I attached the last grommets to my velvet corset (you can see it in my gallery, if you haven't already ) and I am pleased a lot with the look and the shape of it.

I'm going to wear a hoop skirt with a black satin basic overskirt and a more elaborate lace skirt and a black blouse of cotton, lace and velvet with that corset. Th blouse only needs a few sequins, then it's done, and I need something on my head, I think it will be a veil with some feathers and tiny satin roses that match the colour of my new beloved frock coat that I made especially to go over hoop skirts.
If you're interested, you can have a glimpse on it here:
[link]

It looks a little like 1860's when worn, but the whole combination isn't intended to be anything historical at all, I just wanted something goth-only apart from my historic stuff I am taking with me, and of course I don't know what the weather will be this year, it was awfull cold last year and I even was very cold in my bustle dress (it was the Widow's gown from my gallery here) so I decided to make a really elaborate coat or jacket because I didn't want to wear my plain velvet jacket over the hoop skirt, because you will surely see hundreds of goth ladies wearing a combination like that.

I surely will have pictures after the WGT (which will be from 25. to 28. this month).

What I am actually taking with me depends on the weather. At the moment it's quite cold here so the hoop skirt/frock coat combination would be good, as well as my spanish elizabethan gown. But I hope it will be much warmer next week, the weather is a little crazy at the moment here, one day its warm and dry and the other day its very cold and rainy ( which means I often have headaches because of that ) ... if it's getting really hot I will take my victorian ballgowns ... OK, I have to say that I surely had enough clothes in my wardrobe for those four days, but it would have made me crazy if I hadn't sewn anything new at all ... yes, I am dangerously addicted

And I am very glad that some great bands of one of my favourite music genre will come that year .. Coph Nia for example *jumps around madly* ... that guy is great, and there will be Desiderii Marginis, Brighter Death Now, Rome (everything Dark Ambient stuff, I know, they are not very well known, even not if you like gothic music, it's a special sub-genre that I fell in love with on last years WGT) , and then Müller of Death, Heimstatt Yippotash and Architekt (electronic stuff, just as exotic as the Dark Ambient music, and mostly it's hard to say which genre the single bands are at all, the music is just too much experimental ..) ... the only sad thing is that alls of these bands will play on one day, and nearly all at the same time on different places in Leipzig ... great organisation .. at least the guys who make the program should know that people who like that kind of music would love to see all that bands and distribute them way better, now it seems like I only have one concert for the first and the second day that I'm interested in, the third day will be like hell if I try to see everything possible, and the last day will be very lazy again. Great .. at least there are about 160 bands playing on that festival ...

OK, sorry for that long rant, perhaps it doesn't interest you at all, but I am really excited and need to tell everyone and everybody even if he doesnt like to hear it at all

Well, what else ... my burgundian gown is finished, but unluckily we couldn't go to the event where I wanted to wear it, so I don't have any pics at all ... wait until WGT is over, then I have some time to makes pictures.

THE Purple gown of madness is still under construction, but I haven't worked on that any more because of my WGT stuff and two corset comissions that I needed to finish to g...

*sigh* ... only one month left until this years WGT ( [link] ), I still need a ticket, but I found out that I can get one here instead of ordering it, that's really good luck for me.

But I still had no time for sewing any new stuff for that, I think I will take my elizabethan gowns as well, but I can't wear farthingale and that all day for four days, at least in the evenings on the concerts I need something more practical.
I hope I can finish my velvet uniform frock coat with matching pants, I am alreday quite far with the frock coat, but my sewing machine doesn't like the thin silk I used for the lining so I have to sew that at my parents with my mother's machine.
OK; I hope I can finish at least one corset for myself as well, with tons of buckles and that stuff

And I hoped that Coph Nia will come to WGT this year but still no confirmation for that band on the official page

I started as well sewing a burgundian gown for all the medieval markets here, I don't like that era very much, but I think that type of gown is quite OK, it is nearly renaissance ..

OK, and now for something completely different ...

The Chain Gallery:

told me about the Chain Gallery Project, which means you need to respond to my journal and I will pick 3 deviations from your gallery and feature them in my journal. Well, I responded to his journal and now its my turn to keep the chain alive.
My only problem is that I don't have a subscripition, so I can only insert your icon and the links to your deviations - but with a few words of course
In return you have to continue the chain and do the same in your next journal entry.
I will feature the first 10 persons who respond

OK, interested? Then leave me a comment

... yes, I took my little camera and went for some experiments ...
Tell me what you think about my first shots, but be kind, I just started on doing photography .. a few hours ago
And if you have some insider's tips, just tell me

My hometown really has some good motives. I didn't stay very long today so I only had a few pictures, but I will return tomorrow, at least two windows in my appartment are changed tomorrow and I can't stand the noise so I try to escape as long as the guys work with their drill machine *shivers*

... I hope my sewing machine doesn't get hurt ... *hugs sewing machine*

OK, more news ...

Sewing:

-THE purple gown: I finished one of the sleeves, the second one is in progress, as well as still the embroidery on the skirt ... I couldn't work on it during the last weeks.

-Blackwork-Chemise: I finished the embroidery on the first sleeve and sewed the fisrt half together ... and I haven't done that with my machine, I did it with my own hands ... just to see how long that takes.
Now I'm completely convinced that I will go on making my stuff with my sewing machine, but I will do visible seams without it, at least on my elizabethan and baroque stuff because I try to make it as period as I can (with the money and the time that I have ... I just can't afford some materials )

- Justaucorps, 1680: the WGT comes near, only two months left and I need something warm after it was that cold last year (even in a bustle dress, I made the "Victorian Widow" for last year's WGT and I was "lucky" enough to leave my coat at home ... )
I already ordered black wool from a relative and I hope she gets it soon enough that I can finish it, at least I need to make lots of hand-sewn buttonholes *sigh*

- corsets ... I almost finished a black underbust corset for myself today .. incredible, I don't even have a plain black corset so I decided to change that ... it is made from black jaquard ... which nearly drove me mad ...
My commissions aren't finished as well, one of my clients doesn't respond my mails ... and I'm waiting for some missing supplies for three corsets ... I hope I can finish them until the WGT, I need the money to buy some CD's there that I would need to order else ... well, things would be easier if my taste in music wouldn't be that exotic

-1780's riding habit, inspired by british uniforms of that era

-1680's riding habit .. the justaucorps mentioned above will be the first piece

-1630's dress .. the one from Artemisisa's self portrait I mentioned in my last journal entry, I couldn't find cheap linen so far ...

-finish some stuff .. like my winter coat, the white bustle dress, two trousers, everyday stuff ...

At least I decided not to do the "Lost Soul" dress .. after I've messed up the bodice for that dress. I will finish the skirt but I will not make the complete dress ..
Instead of that I started working on something similar, inspired by victorian dresses. It looks quite OK so far but finishing it was impossible so far, my big fat cat Felix insisted on sleeping on the train of the skirt ...

Painting:

I couldn't finish any of my paintings so far, I have to sew for the WGT, like I said before.

Well, sadly I couldn't do anything creative during the last two weeks ... after I've had an accident with a can and my hand ... more precisely my right thumb ... I couldn't paint or write or sew, just sit around and read ... and I nearly got mad after the first three days ...
Now I can do almost everything again, only cutting fabrics is still not so good ...

OK, but there are still plans:

Sewing:

- still THE purple gown, but this will need several months, I already mentioned that this should be the most elaborate gown I've ever made ... I want to start with the sleeves next time, and I'm still working on embroidering the skirt with silver thread.

- A gown for this years WGT in Leipzig. Nothing historic this time, at the moment I completely fell in love with a more tattered and decayed style of goth ... I recently got 10m of black fabric for almost nothing because it was stained all over with big dark brown spots. The vendor noticed that as she measured the fabric. It took only a few minutes of thinking about it and then I had the perfect idea ... the working title should be "Lost Soul" and the dress should go over a hoop skirt.
So this will be the first real "theme dress" and I'm looking forward to run riot with that project
I already made the basic skirt, but without trims for now. I hope I can finish it for the next Göttertanz that will be in a month.

-perhaps some more stuff for the WGT ... I have some more ideas in the same style than the "Lost Soul".

- Still the Artemisia project (mentioned in the journal entry before), I hope I can get cheap linen next time for that.

- a bustle gown made from white and grey striped linen imitation. Yes, white ... which means I will not keep it but sell it when it's finished
I just want to write some sewing instructions for my homepage and I need pictures in progress for that. At least, the fabric was not too expensive and I could need some money
I already finished the basic skirt.

- my winter coat ... still waiting for me at my parents ...

- I still have corset commissions and tons of unfinished stuff ...

Painting:

Finally I've tried with oil paint ... and I love it. I almost wanted to get rid of my tempra and acrylics .. it's amazing what you can do with oil paint ... I will do another test picture and then perhaps try with a bigger canvas.
Meanwhile, I still have a big painting wainting to be finished, it's the one I've made the "Currently Untitled" - Drawing for, but I'm not pleased any more with the motive .. I wanted it - different ... *sigh* well, perhaps I will overpaint everything again. It's too smooth ... it should be more rough and not that realistic ... *sighs again* .. OK, I guess it's normal to be unsatisfied with your own paintings

But I still have enough ideas .. for example another painting that will be based on a few lines I've written (it will be named "Thorns" ... means if it doesn't start to live a life on it's own again like almost all the pictures before ), a try on a self-portrait which is perhaps the most complicated thing I want to do
And there are still some tattered thoughts that hide at the moment but will soon return when I have really no time for them

And I have to paint some more for my tarot project. I've still the finished "Fool" and a half-painted "Magician" lying around ...

Other insane ideas:

OK, I really love old abandoned places ... the best stuff is industrial buildings with tons of rusty metal, old fashioned switchboards ... and deserted hospitals ... funny enough I've never realised that I could search on Deviant Art for such pics ... but yesterday I did and found some great shots ... I guess my favourites doubled yesterday

Well, I've always resisted to do photography myself ... now all hope is lost and I need to grab a camera ... I would love to try with abandoned...

I guess we stayed up much too long last night but neither my boyfriend nor me got tired ... so it was about 4:30 a.m. as we finally decided to go to bed ... so I'm a little tired at the moment and desperatly need coffee ...

OK, I might be tired, but my head is full of ideas that jump around and scream because every single one wants to be noticed first ... not easy to keep a certain kind of order *sigh*

Well, OK, everything came with the idea to make a new dress ... nothing unusual for me, I know.
But I had the idea after I saw "Girl with a pearl earring" recently on TV - baroque is one of my favourite periods, and the story about Jan Vermeer, the painter just didn't want to get out of my head ... together with the fact that Weinglasarien told me, she wanted to play a rococo painter on the living history events for her period ... this was just a great idea ... and the I remembered a picture of a female baroque painter, I looked a little bit around and found out that she was Artemisia Gentileschi with quite an interesting, but in some ways tragic life. Artemisia began to captivate me .. and the I decided to recreate the dress ... and as I looked for informations on that style of dress I got more and more interested in the technique of painting in oil ... funny, I always didn't like to use oil colours for my paintings because it had that feeling of .. old, boring still lifes for me, I was quite glad with my tempra and acrylic but ... well, let's see, I have to visit the shop where I sometimes get my painting stuff and have a look on everything .. it even would be interesting to mix my own colours from the raw materials ... *laughing madly*

Well, OK, let's see, I'll make some experiments with that and even try the old way of painting .. I don't kow if I really could do it, it's not quite my style, but perhaps it really would work with the oil colours because they don't dry that fast ...

And then I'm interested in some new photo shootings, I hope I don't scare my photograph with my ideas *gg* because I would need the proper location for that and I dn't know where to find it - a deserted hospital or something like that ... hmm ...

And now I'll go for a walk with my boyfriend, sitting all day in front of the screen doesn't wake me up ...
