I've been doing so many portraits I think I might burn them. I gotta do something different or I'll just explode! Any ideas would be helpful.

I know I haven't updated in a while, but I swear I'll have some new stuff soon. Even if I have to take pictures with a frikkin camera.

I'm a zombie today. Is nice. I might have a pic or two of myself later. School was awesome, it was college day so I was going around to all the art schools & they were like "Hey d'you make that shirt?" Yessir!

My army of zombies turned out to be more like a squad. Chickens. "But I didn't want to get suspended" BS man, no one got suspended. Nothing in the rulebook says you can't dress up for Halloween!

Anyway, I've got a couple zombie things, a businessman zombie and a zombie comic page. Oh right I've been inking stuff lately. Looks nice. I'll try to have some stuff up tomorrow guys, seriously.

It's been a while, I know. And I can't submit any new art because we got a new computer and I can't find one of the cords for the scanner. Sorry folks. I have been drawing some though, mostly in art class (and a little in chemistry).

Well, Spider-man 3 comes out this weekend. I'm going to go see it then, because I love me some Spider-man. (Though I think they could have done much better with the symbiote suit) Also, free comic book day is May 5th, the day after, and some of my friends said they'd have a gathering to watch some Star Wars on that day too. Should be a most excellent weekend, indeed.

Hm, I should talk about art some, shouldn't I? This is dA after all. I think I'll talk about my story concept for Crucifix. Crucifix is the name of that vampire guy I used to draw. (The one with the pointy ears and the tie) The "story" in my head was that this guy is a powerful, arrogant vampire who has enslaved the earth to do as he sees fit. And of course there's a bunch of underground rebels who will try to thwart him, these being lead by Zeth (the dude with the slicked-back hair and sideburns). Though I've never really planned on making a comic for these characters, this was just a concept I had floating around, y'know. I think I need a pocket journal or something for these kinds of ideas...
My idea for Crux's character is sort of an interesting mix of Naruto-meets-Alucard. He's really snotty and full of himself, and on top of that he's virtually unstoppable (certainly that's more than enough reason for an uprising, right?). Zeth is a more serious guy who wants freedom, and I thought that they would make good enemies. Anyway, I thought I'd share that.

What I really need to work on is CrosSpade, though. I've had some positive comments from my art classmates about how they like my characters and they think I'd do well as a comic artist. I recently finished a drawing of Esau that turned out fairly well, and I think I'll do my other characters in the future.


I think that's enough of a journal update for now.

I've been very tired lately. Too tired to stay up and play videogames/draw/watch stuff at night. So I haven't been able to draw any CrosSpade stuff as of late. I've got to finish drawing a tattoo for this chick at school too, but that shouldn't take too long.


Afterwords, I think I'll start drawing either another version of Dire, my crow-controlling sidecharacter, or some action poses of the main crew.

Ooo, also need to start drawing some of the enemies. My God I have a bunch of junk to draw. What am I doing!? I need to start sketching! But...Medievia...is so....awesome... O_O

Anyway, I'm off to train in the arts of theivery. Fare ye well.

Cain Jameson CrosSpade:
Age: 18
Height: 5'8"
A highly chivalrous devout Christian, Cain has set out to find his father, the ruler of the kingdom of CrosSpade. He is stubborn in his ways, no matter how much others may want him to change. His personal quote would probably be, "Chivalry will die when I do."

Keturah Cindara:
Age: 19
Height: 5'5"
A sort of tomboy, Keturah grew up with her father and four brothers. The pendant she wears was given to her by her mother, who died when she was young. She has run away from home to find a new life away from her small hometown.

Esau:
Age: Unknown, probably in the 40's.
Height: Around 6'6"
A cursed man, Esau has lost his ability to feel. He cannot feel pain, pleasure, thirst, hunger, heat or cold. He has also lost any memories of friends and family, save for the one woman whom he has loved. Now he searches for her, caring not whether his curse is lifted.

Virym Lyntir:
Age: 21
Height: 6'1"
A self-proclaimed "Great Wizard", Virym's ambitions are unclear. He wears an enchanted robe, equipped with pockets that can hold an almost infinite amount of items. He seems hard to trust, but one mustn't judge so quickly...

Just began working on that crow-controlling-man today. Looks like a ripoff of Vicious, but whatever.

Got a couple new sketchbooks, so I can keep sketching concepts and maybe even start rough drafting some panels. Word to your mother.

Some things about the characters will look different, as my previous drawings were concepts, of course. I think it's all for the best, though. Esau looks to have changed the most, but the main reason for that is because before I was considering making him an emotion-less character, but I later decided that that would be way too boring. He still can't feel anything, but at least now he can get angry, happy, sad, etc. Also, Keturah's hair is not as bushy. And everyone looks generally....happier. xP I heard complaints before about them being too depressing in the concepts, save for that sneaky Virym Lyntir.

Finished or not, I'll have a scan of it up by the end of the day.



After that's all said and done, as I stated before, I will work on some of the secondary characters. I also need to work on poses, expressions, and the like for the main guys, so I can get all the details and mess in my head. Then I won't have to keep flipping back to those concepts over and over. XD

Currently working on a drawing of my four CS main characters together. I worked on it some in algebra and english yesterday, and I might work on it some today. Might even have it posted by the end of the day. =X Keep your fingers crossed folks.

Let me go ahead and talk about the not-so-main characters. On their journey, the gang will meet up with others that will temporarily join their quest. I have a few I ideas for those, and I would like to draw some of them in the near future--maybe after I finish the group shot. I'm thinkin of a dark dude who can control crows. And maybe some tribal guy. Meh, we'll see.

Yes, I know, I haven't done much over my HALF YEAR HIATUS. But hopefully I'll do better in the coming days. I want to work on more CrosSpade stuff, get my creative juices flowing.

Do people want to see more CrosSpade stuff? Gimme some feedback peebs! If so, I'll try some poses and stuff. I'll reveal the basic plot and show the revamped, albeit cooler version of the CrosSpade insignia.

See, problem is my computer at home (with the scanner hooked to it) isn't connected to the 'net, and since it's frikkin Windows 98 it won't accept any flash drives or my PSP. Could use a floppy disk--wait, who uses those anymore? Meh.

Some dude was supposed to scan some of my sketches at his house an let me submit 'em, but he couldn't get his scanner to work. Now today I might try to get someone else to do it. D'ah, you just can't trust anyone these days. Screw it, I'm gonna flop this mofo

It's my birthday. I'm 16 now. I got a cell phone yesterday and I'm sure a tumor is soon to follow. I also got Lego Star Wars II, which is most excellent. And 4 bags of customized M & M's, which is also most excellent.

I have been drawing just a little bit. A couple of unfinished things--one of Darth Sidious using his Force Shock, another of a character based on the man described in a newspaper I read; he walked into a Canadian college and opened-fire in the cafeteria. He was described as a man with "a mohawk haircut and a black trenchcoat."

I have no internet now. The computer at home isn't even hooked up anymore, so I can't update....sorry everyone.

Alright, I'm gonna go look at someone's xanga now.

Hey again, all. Been playin' RE4 and SSBM. RE4 because I still haven't beaten professional mode and SSBM because I'm so psyched about SSBB (the trailer was so hawt). That kinda hinders my drawing time, but whatever. Another thing to consider is the upcoming exams and whatnot. Gotta study. But once all that's over with, I will have loads of free time to draw stuff--that is, if my dad doesn't make me work too much.

List for stuff to do regarding CrosSpade (in no particular order):

1. Buy new sketchbook to use specifically for the comic
2. Write down the entire storyline and from that figure how long the comic with last
3. Get comfortable w/character designs
4. Buy some sort of inks or Photoshop or something to ink the comic. Might get someone else to do it.
5. Read lots of comics to see how panels and bubbles are used. Or just to be lazy.

There's a scrap I need to post, might do that this afternoon.

My future stuff...I'm thinking about maybe doing some more surrealistic stuff. I really need to learn to make rich, detailed stuff without copying it from someone else's work.

Also, I will be working on my character designs for CrosSpade. I will be submitting some scraps of my old concepts and I will be expanding on those, to try to get comfortable with them so I can draw them well and I can draw them fast--two very important things for making a comic.
