I finished an FST I've been putting together for a while, but it's taking a long time to upload. I usually only use MediaFire, but I think some people like MegaUpload better, so I'm uploading it there too. I'll probably post it here later tonight, maybe tomorrow.

Other than that, I have to work on my USSRxUS Secret Santa piece. I'm thinking of doing a couple different sketches and then picking my favorite and CG'ing it. I would want to include the other sketches too, but I'm not sure if that is allowed. Oh well, I'll figure it out later. I probably won't be able to seriously work on it until I'm over this cold anyway. (And no, I won't tell you who I'm doing it for or what I'm gonna do! It's a secret~)

I've been drawing a lot more now, since I have a new computer. I am very much obsessed with Hetalia at the moment. My favorite pairings are Russia/America, Russia/Canada, and Russia/Latvia. I also like America/Canada. Mostly I just love Russia, though. hehe So don't be surprised if I draw more of any of those. I'm thinking of doing a Hetalia meme as well, but I wouldn't have time until this weekend at the earliest.

My Alfred Jones cosplay is complete! I'm so excited to wear it. I think it turned out quite nicely. The addition of a new sewing machine definitely helped.

Mostly I've been doing absolutely nothing this summer, and I'm completely loving it. I get up pretty early, eat, make papercraft nation-tans, and then watch anime until 2 am. Lately I've been really into papercrafting. It's so fun! It takes mad concentration but I love it.

I'm also starting a new cosplay, Alfred Jones/America from Hetalia. I went thrifting the other day and bought mostly everything I need. I just have to modify the bomber jacket and figure out the uniform. I'm so excited! My sister is going with me as Arthur/England. I hope I see a Russia at the meet-up.

I'll also be getting the stuff to make a large Allied Powers poster. By large I mean at least 4 feet by 3 feet. About the size of the Baccano one I made a while ago. (Yes, I am obsessed with Hetalia at the moment, couldn't you tell?)

I need to finish Apollo Justice! I'm stuck in that silly Mason System.

Now to the semi-rant.

So the other week I went to a bookstore to get some manga, right? I was looking through all the books to get the best one when I noticed that tokyopop's were significantly thinner than they previously were. Upon opening the book I found that this was because tokyopop (being a shitty company to start with) had decided to start printing their manga on equally shitty paper. The kind that's so thin the ink looks bad and you can see the other pages behind the one you're reading.

So, obviously, I was kind of mad. I didn't get really angry, however, until I came back a few days later and saw that (yay!) Kyou Kara Maou volume 3 was out. Unfortunately it is licensed by tokyopop, so it was thin and really crappy quality. This wouldn't have even been so bad if the dumbasses hadnt decided to charge a DOLLAR MORE for it. How the hell do they think people will buy their manga if its such bad quality and they charge more for it? Maybe if they weren't such money whores they would notice that it's a stupid idea.

Well anyway, I've personally decided that I will stop collecting kyou kara maou (even though I waited *so* long for it to come to the states) and I will never buy another volume of tokyopop manga. Ever. Nowadays there are plenty of other companies to buy manga from, and most of them do a far better job of translating than tokyopop anyway. If there's a tokyopop title I want to read I will now be more than happy reading it on the computer.

Next time you're at a bookstore, go check out the latest tokyopop releases. I guarantee they'll be really crappy. I figured word might get out a bit better if I put something up on dA. If you're someone who orders their manga online, you might reconsider getting tokyopop stuff, because once it arrives you'll be getting jipped. If they'd just raised the prices it would be a different story, but this is just ridiculous.

That's about it. Sorry about some of the cursing, I really only do it when I'm mad. I hope some other people feel the same way about how tokyopop is shitting around with their products. I'll have a happier journal up later, but I wanted to write something about this. It really is a big deal; if people continue to support them even though they do crap like this then they'll probably start releasing even worse quality stuff in the future.

SO YEAH

Happy New Year everyone, and a belated Merry Christmas. I've been super busy (mostly on a huge Baccano poster for my sister. Pics will come soon), and haven't had much time for drawing on the computer. But this morning I managed to cg a little something in sai, so that's good.

I've been really stressed out too. I need to do homework in just about every subject and I feel like a ton of other stuff too. Yet I still find time to watch massive amounts of anime. I got the Tsubasa and Gundam Wing box sets for christmas, along with Code Geass. My sister and I have been watching late into the night. er, early morning. And thus I have become re-obsessed with Fye. haha

I also have begun my next cosplay. I am going to be Issac Dian (with my sister as Miria Harvent) for Ohayocon. I have everything I need, and my wig is on its way. I am super excited, it will be a fun outfit to wear. And my shoes are suuuuper comfy compared to the stilettos I wear as Garlock. After that I will be Rin from Little Busters at Acen.

WELL I had a ton of fun, cosplayed lots, and bought a load of new figurines! ^^ And a new purse! So basically everything I wanted. :3

We also went to see KAPPEI FREAKING YAMAGUCHI. He was amazing, just how I expected. 8D

Friday/Saturday Night Fan Parodies can be deceiving. Not only is Hall D extremely elusive, the parodies themselves were a bit of a let-down. :/

Well, I finished Over Drive yesterday. ^^ I watched it because supposedly it has shonen-ai undertones like Oofuri. (For anyone who doesn't know, it's about cyclists and bicycle road-racing :3)

Overall, I thought the entire show would have been leagues better if the Fukazawa girl wasn't in it. She annoyed me to no end, really. At the beginning she was all happy, trying to act cool, always in a good mood. But then she went all tsun tsun and decided she hated Shinozaki. >___> Whether that was to motivate him or not, she could've been a bit nicer to the poor kid who just rode his bike for six hours through the rain for her. And up two mountains, to boot. I don't know. She just made me angry. Either she's bipolar or her characterization was way off towards the end. I've added her to the list of anime people I hate. xD

Apart from Yuki, the show was about average. The shonen-ai undertones didn't show up much, although in a few parts they were apparent. Mostly between Terao and Yousuke, because Shinozaki was too busy fawning over that stupid girl. xP Although Shinozaki and Yamato did have a few moments.

My favorite part was probably the story about Yamato's trip to France. <3 That side story was so cute! I also liked how they used Engrish a bit. Hearing then say climber, sprinter, and all-outer was pretty great. xP The second ending theme is also fabulous. xD

All in all, I suppose it was an okay anime, though it mostly left me with an impression of "meh." If you can get over how ridiculous everyone looks when pedaling a bike, the Shinozaki's cuteness should win out. ;3

And the Fukazawa girl really is starting to irritate me to no end. xD She is such a moody loser. I think it's probably just because there shouldn't be girls in my gay anime. I don't like it when there are girls in my gay anime. >___> Even if it isn't gay anime. Whatever.

I figured if I wrote a little instead of drawing and vented I'd be able to fanart something. *sigh*

gah... I can't concentrate on anything and my nose is stuffed up and I'm so stressed out that I'm not even looking forward to Otakon. -_-

Best part of the con?
A guy (I forget his name) who worked on Gurren Lagann took my picture at the GL photoshoot. *A* He was so kyoot<3 He didn't speak hardly any English and kept saying "arigatou, arigatou!!" >w< I'll keep an eye out for the pictures of us on the GL production blogs.

Worst part?
We stood in line for 10 good hours registering on Friday. That's from 7:30 am to at least 5:00 pm. We missed the first GL photoshoot and our first day of con was shot. Lucky we went to the GL panel, because that salvaged our day. -____-;;

Also, a couple of my toes are definitely broken. I'm having trouble moving them and can't feel them at all. I guess that's what I get for wearing 3 inch heels all day for three days straight when I'm not used to heels at all. xP

Coolest people?
The older couple that roomed next to us. They dressed up as Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei characters and we were the only two to recognize them. There was a funny incident with them mistaking my sister for Komori-chan when she looked outside of the room with a blanket on her head. xD

Werdest cosplayers?
There were four guys who had masks on. The masks were of Presidents Washington, Lincoln, Nixon, and Reagan. They also all had hubcaps (from cars) tied around their necks. :/ I guess if you're going to a rave, it doesn't matter what you look like? xD

Cosplaying as Garlock and Nia was so much fun. I had a really fun time GARing around.

I'll put up a pic of my cosplay as soon as I find the time. =____=;;

Let me just say this, styling a wig is not as easy as it seems. I had to chop up my purply-blue wig and spike it up and everything. It was a long, painful process. =___=;;

So I finally felt liek writing a new journal. \(^w^)/

Yeah, not really, but the old one was starting to annoy me. (-_-)U

I've been kinda frustrated lately wif mah drawin. D : I haven't been able to draw anything lately. Well, at least not anything good. :I I've been stressed about school, I guess.

Plus I have to draw something for the school newspaper about the musical. Its "Little Women the Musical" which seems like some kind of paradox or something. XD Yeah, I have no ideas on that one. XP

I"m saving up to buy myself a tablet... unless I can get my mother to help pay for one. But I really want the Gurren Lagann DS game too... <.<;; gah, the decisions that plague me~~

A little about me...
I'm a major Gurren-Lagann fan (yay!) ^_^
I also like just about any mecha, so a few of my favorites are Gurren Lagann, of course, Nadesico, GaoGaiGar, Evangelion, Code Geass, Gunbuster, etc.
I work mostly with pencil and ink, because I don't have that many art programs on my computer. >_<;
I love to cosplay. (I'm working on an Asuka one now!)
