I have amazing friends, I'm doing well in school, I don't feel lethargic anymore, I'm physically well, I listen to great music, I'm doing well in piano, I've been playing guitar more, I've been more creative in general [note the fact that I've actually been posting art?].

I'm in love.

I have what should be an amazingly fun weekend coming up [which is already off to a very good start]. I've had snow days!! For the first time in 3 years! I understand things.
Looking at my last journal entry, I felt I needed to make a more accurate update.
In general, life lately has been beautiful [and getting better and better].

I feel good.

I am inspired.

I had just turned 14 two months before, I was naive and oblivious to most of the evils in the world, and I had just moved to Lexington, KY the year before, forcing me to basically start my life over from scratch.
And then I look at what that life has become. I realize how much different it would be were I still a member of a cozy and conventionally happy (or at least pretending to be) family living in suburban Corbin, KY.
I look at an entry I posted a little over a year ago. A vague sentence about a boy who broke my heart and made me feel like shit for five months. I would have never met that boy.
Then I remember everyone that came to my rescue during that time. I would have never met those amazing people.
It's been about two and a half years since that day. Feb. 28, 2004. I can't believe all the things that have happened to me in that short time. All the events and people that have shaped who I am today. I've made friends and lost friends. I've made accomplishments and mistakes. I would change a single thing, though. The only reason I am who I am today is because of everything that's happened in those two years. The two years that I changed the most out of my life thus far.
Now I look at my little brother, who just turned 15 three days ago, at the same stage in his life that I was in on Feb. 28, 2004. I just dropped him off at his freshman homecoming dance. Nervously fiddling with his tie the whole car ride over, and asking, "How do you dance, Katherine? How do you dance and look cool?"

Somehow I know that this is the beginning of a brand new chapter in my life. The best one yet. For once, and possibly the first time ever, I feel truly content. I'm taking life one day at a time and trying to enjoy the world around me. Everyone who knew me back then knows that I'm a very different person than I was two years ago, and as far as I can tell, it's for the better.

So that was my moment of reflection.
I suppose that's what happens when you're home alone on a Saturday night.

Athena - TJ and I were in compie class at school and they had this thing in MS Word where you could draw letters with your mouse and it would translate it into text.
