Before anything else, hope all of you guys had a good start of the new year so far and a great 2009 ahead! For all those who are still in the festive mood, happy chinese new year 恭贺牛年，万事如意！

Been busy working on projects for the past weeks and finally cleared most of the current urgent stuff for the upcoming events. Heh, sorry guys (you-know-who-you-are), for the delays and procrastinations despite what i've promised... >w<;;; suman!


Cosplay Challenge & S.O.Y.A.

I'll be participating... or rather, i've taken part in the making of stuff to be sold at these 2 events under NUSCAS and C.D.S. Btw, S.O.Y.A., short for "Start Of Year Again!" is an event held by Ngee Ann Polytechnic's Japanese Tsubasa Club held @ Ngee Ann Poly (but of course...) and Cosplay Challenge held @ Singapore Discovery Centre. long journal warning, though i really shouldn't be slacking off my studies now but well...

Although _{both of them are busy studying for exams (which i ought to be doing too...) and most probably on hiatus in dA but, good luck for your exams! ganbare ne! :3}

I think _{i needa explain abit on why i've been missing these few weeks... Currently, i'm in the 6th week of school, one more week to the mid-term break, but b4 that i've 2 tests to go at the end of this week... T^T Nothing i can do about that... orz}

Yep, _{that aside, i've been busy with my school's anime club =w=; btw, if your interested, we're holding a "School Festival" (Gakuensai, 学園祭 ) sorta bazaar (like the ones you see in animes... kinda...) where we'll have booths selling anime/manga related merchandises (even some of our self-made ones :9), a games booth, and some snacks booths also... we'll be selling lamune also!!! \(>∀< )/ So with that, if you're interested or insane enough to come all the way to NUS, it'll be on October 4-6 (wed-fri) @ Science Foyer (outside LT27) from 12nn to 6pm. Yea. =w= with that said, the reason that i'm not submitting much art as i said in my previous journal is that my boss wouldn't allow me to reveal the designs till after the event so...

I'm not good at pulling off arguments (coz i suck at it) but i'd just like to add a few cents of thought to this...}

Firstly, _{i draw becoz i enjoy drawing, i believe that goes for everybody as well. And @ that i believe also that we all have our own role model(s), artist(s) that we admire and strife to become. so we practice to draw like them. In the begginning, by tracing/copying/imitating their works. Then at one point in time, we begin to get independant of emulating, able to draw without complete reference of works. Then comes the time when we feel that we're ready to create our own works to sell, be it fanart or original... honestly who wouldn't like to earn a living off doing what they like to do? But when it comes down to fanart, people have diverging views about it, and as much conflicting stands on selling them...}
So, _{they are copyrighted material, and thus we shouldn't sell them becoz its immoral to do so? So, its ok if we just draw them and not sell them just for the fun of it, and when you're get good at drawing these fanworks, you gain fans who encourages you to draw more but you know its impossible for you to dedicate so much time on just a hobby... you simply can't just live off drawing everyday for free... well, not unless you're filthy rich... or unless you get paid doing so. So, back to where we started. Ok, not a really good example, but you get the idea... its a really bad feeling when you're reminded that the fanart you sell is actually infringing intellectual property rights, many traumatise about it, its a hard issue which has been debated over and over again and there's no simple solution to resolve this...}
While <sub>troubling over these problems, i don't believe nothing good comes out of selling fanart though. In fact, i believe the main reason for fanworks/doujins and stuff being actively and extensively sold all over especially japan, and the companies of the original works have not really filed major lawsuits and stuff for such activities (think the 70+ Comikets already held in japan) is probably because of the publicity it brings. That way, i think it justifies the fan-artists to sell fanworks becoz its mutually benefitial. Now that said, it'd probably trivial for the original company to sue the vendors @ Comiket coz its just simply not worth the time/effort to do so; they'd prolly spend their time more effeciently on their next work which will net them more...

nnn... yea, my "<½cent" thoughts... =w=
hmm... fanarts are usually more appreciated then the other original art that the artist drew imho... =3=...</sub>

oh joy, finally got to play it! The "Tales" series has got to be one of my all time favourites, essentially, its rpg, puzzle, action fighting and multiplayer all in one!!! Ok, b4 i go into further raving about the amazing in-game anime sequences, new free-run battle systems and the great seiyuu cast, i shall leave that there... (those who are interested about details/discussions can note me still though) :3 Non-japanese gamers can expect a US translated release in fall this year! Rejoice! X3

And i woke up 2 days ago with a suprise from DA, a 7-day subbie!!! XD lolz, it must be equinox, coz we celebrate that all year round over here Subscription is so cool!!! _{someone get me one? XD} just can't get enough of all the additional functions :3 and what a way to countdown to the end of my holidays, when the subscription expires, so does my holidays D; oh well...

But i did, and got my hands on the japanese ver. W00T. You can't feel the awesomeness of this game until u tried it. :3 Can't wait for the english version to hit the stores...

Yay!!! Then again, holidays kinda always leave me with a bitter after-taste... probably thats the regret of not studying hard enough b4 the exams and doing badly for it... then again... its winter vacation!!! *throws everything out of the window*
Now it'd be cool if only it starts snowing over here... no offense ~RistFit ;3

Yep... recovering from the memory crash XD but still feel my works are pretty crappy Nevertheless, moving on to more new stuff and trying out new techniques soon お楽しみして下さい. :3 *sigh* and the holidays are half gone D;

04. I've red-green colour deficiency (read up b4 u misinterpret this )
05. I play Go (a kinda old chess game, quite alotta anime fans can associate with... ) but i'm just ur average 15-kyu n00b and haven't been playing for a long time...
06. I'm now a freshman majoring in applied maths in NUS...
07. My uni's got an anime club and i'm in the comm
08. Anime seiyuu's job (voiceovers) interests me... so cool... i keep track of seiyuus in animes that i've watched
09. I started seriously catching/drawing anime in y2k and that anime which kicked start is CCS, which still remains my fave
10. I used to be 1 of the shortest in class but now i'm quite tall...?
11. I don't eat much during meals but i take more meals/snacks in-between
12. I like animals especially small pets but my residence and lifestyle doesn't permit me to keep 1... *sigh*
13. ...and i can't draw animals... ...
14. I can play the piano...
15. I like to play music games such as Pop'n Music... though i suck at it... and its really limited in arcades here...
16. I'm usually pretty chatty all the more when talking about things that interests me...

18. Erm... i don't smoke/drink(alcoholic)/drug (i hate medicine...)
19. I'll not be able to celebrate my birthday for the coming 3 yrs at least due to exams...

A little update on life out here...
Headache. I find myself lagging behind in all the modules in uni, and feel no motivation to catch up. The only motivation i find, is my tablet staring at me... and new anime episodes of course. This is very bad... which means i've to start putting more time on studies. Exams in end Nov *envies all u sec/jc/poly students* \(>_<")/ so will try to restrain myself from too much computer in the meantime = less art. Then again, the word is "try"...
