One of my friends took me to NDK in 2008 and it was kind of an accident i ended up cosplaying XD once i got the costume i just hit the ground running and never stopped lol

Monkey D Luffy was my first...and i didnt choose it it just kind of fell into my lap xD

Well...probably my origonal arc Luffy cosplay x3 it holds so many great memories

Humm dont have one yet...

- What cosplay is the most uncomfortable?
Guh when i still had that dead cat looking wig...that thing itched like HELL

- How do you research the cosplay before you make it?
Waching the Anime, inspiration from drawings and other peoples cosplays, books, tv...my cosplay is like my art...the inspiration comes from everywhere.

- Do you sew your cosplays yourself?
I did alot of the work on my Unlimited Cruise Luffy cosplay but am still learning when it comes to using a sewing machine ETC. So in bits and pieces yes.

- If so, how did you learn to sew? If not, do you plan to learn?
Two words. My. Mother. Shes been a big help in teaching and the like.

- Do you make your own props?
Luffy doesnt have much in the way of props my friend...and no...i didnt weave the straw hat XDDD I am planing on making a few props in the future but as of now ive only modified.

when it came to the Unlimited Cruise cosplay there where quite a few '

rops' but it only needed painting, sewing etc.

- If so, how did you learn to? If not, do you plan to learn?
TRIAL AND ERROR. When your making a prop its all about the process. If your not sure about how something is going to look etc use cheap cloth and make a mock up. if you fuck up on the mock up its not as bad as fucking up on the ACTUAL thing

- Do you style your own wigs?
Wig? HA. You so funneh! I dont use a wig silly! But i DO 'style' my own hair

- What other skills do you use to create your cosplays?
Having the basic ability to draw and paint is always good. If your getting ready to tackle a big project plan it out first. Draw it on paper. Look at what other people have done. BE READY TO IMPROVISE!

- What skill has been most useful for making your cosplay?
Improvisation and the ability to make props/ add ons out of odds and ends. Being able to paint and stitch has come in handy too

- What is the hardest thing when making a cosplay?
As a female cosplayer cosplaying a dude? Getting it so my boobs where actually COVERD in my unlimited cruise cosplay was a pain in the ASS

- What was the biggest screw up you've had making a cosplay?
Getting the ribbon to fit snugly around my hat -_- three tries...FAIL

- How often do you injure yourself while making a cosplay?
Im not joking when i tell a person my blood goes into my cosplay

if im working on it and i have a needle...odds are im gona stab myself at LEAST twice

In all truth? Nothing

lol ive been very lazy with my artwork lately and my inspiration has been lacking due to the fact im a bit stressed over the whole "no job and back in with my parents" situation but not to worry. The drawings will come as they come. Plus...i found my tablet pen whilest cleaning a couple days ago! HUZZAH!

As for the next installment on River Wild. Somebody is going to kick me for this but dont hold your breath. I have a very bad case of writers block and am at the point where i have multiple paths the story can take...and am not sure where i want to take it. So be patient folks and ill have it up...eventually!

Why did you join this site?
Good god that was back in like...6th grade? With my

account...i joined because i was a budding artist and a friend of mine had told me this was a great sight. it really is!

What does your username have to do with you? Is it a combination of your favorite things, or a character of yours?

Thats an interesting question actually. MOST people thing the Straylight part of my name comes from the band Straylight Run. But thats not true.

My name is a bit of what i call a ' pretty fluke ' i couldnt think of a name when i opened this account so i took Straylight as in Straying light...kind of poetic. And then Revelation came from the band Muse. I was listening to them the day i created the account and their album was called 'Black Holes and Revelations' Thus StraylightRevelation was born.

Yes ladies and gentlemen i have returned! I am wiser and better of it as well which makes me happy. Hello one and all! Look whos back for another update! Winter is on its way but October is awesome so yaya!

So. I got a job...worked for 4 days and then was let go. LAME. When i asked my boss as to why she was letting me go her only reply was "I didnt fit" I cant accept that because i got along with everyone, helped out where i could and was ALWAYS on task. She told me it was nothing personal but i still wounder. Honestly the whole experience has left me feeling used. Kinda like they hired me for temporary labor and got me to work like a dog by telling me i was going to be hired on full time when the store actually opened. BLAH! Anyway. Life goes on and im back on the hunt for a job.

My hopes are still up money is just going to remain tight for the time being. Fingers crossed.

On the Cosplay front!

BUT...i finally decided to stop being lazy and give a lil post con journal for anyone who cares. Even if you dont...your fault for wasting your time reading something you dont care about.

SO Nan Desu Kan 2009 marked the 1 year aniversary for my strawhat pirate crew! Hard to believe its been a year already but i couldnt be happier. NDK 2009 also marked the COMPLETION of my first Luffy cosplay AND the debute of my Unlimited Cruise Luffy cosplay which is still technically a WIP. I was very pleased with the general acceptance and over all approval of this costume and cant wait to put more effort into it and make improvements before Wasabi Con 2010!

As for the cosplays this year? My GOD guys there were some positively SPECTACULAR ones!I was over all impressed by a great deal but i think the Eveeloution cosplays i saw over the weekend. There was Jolteon(Cosplayed by

)Their costumes were all BEAUTIFULY done and inspired me but that'll come later. Oooo there was also a GREAT Ed Cosplayer from Cowboy Bebop, a SPECTACULAR Princess Mononoke full crew cosplay AND there where some of the origional 8 digidestin running around!

Funtimes? ALWAYS...im gona bullet point these or its gona take FOREVER.

So. I got fired today. This is a rant. I cuss alot. If you have sensitive ears. Dont read it.

first off. not only did they decided it needed to be done in person for GOD knows what reason which means. I had to get up at five this morning, be there by just before six, waste gas going UP there and then simpley get fired and turn back around only to waste MORE gas coming BACK. If he had just fucking CALLED me and been like "we're letting you go so dont bother coming in today" it would have saved me time, money, and effort.Not to mention the fact i didnt SLEEP last night so that was a pain in the ass in itself. ALSO. How the FUCK can they fire me because im apparently not up to par with the rest of the crew? They didnt ever fucking TEACH me to use the damn mowers or any of the OTHER equipment for that matter! They just said i was too fucking WEAK and didnt even let me TRY! So what do i get stuck on? fucking WEED DETAIL day in and fucking DAY OUT! Did i ever complain? No. I might have asked to do something else once or twice but other than that no i didnt. The fuckers said they tried to HELP me. Tried to WORK with me. All though i agree to an EXTENT they NEVER gave me the kind of chance they should have. They half taught me. Got PISSED when all i did was pull weeds all day everyday, and in the end it fucking cost me my job. why? Because they think im too slow! WHY? Because all they ever had me DO was pull weeds so i fucking tired to make it last as long as possible to stay out of THEIR way so THEY could work and not have to check up on me all the fucking time! So much for curtisy...sorry i ever tried...i loved the job and did my best...but i guess that doesnt fucking matter.

A rant Concering Monkey D. Luffy

Okay so. I dont know how this is possible but i have run into multiple people that seem to have difficulties with how Luffy is pronounced so i have come to put an end to it once and for all!

These guild lines will help those of you who are pronunciation impared.

On a much happier and lighter note I went to NDK (Anime Convention) this last weekend and had a total and complete blow your face off good time! I ended up cosplaying Monkey D Luffy from One Piece and had an ABSOLUTE BLAST! If you all want to hear more stories or see more pics contact me why dont ya?
