The first, was that Afghanistan's ONLY pig was quarantined for fear of swine flu.

The second, was that one provincial Chinese government ordered all of its officials to smoke 23,000 packs of government approved cigarettes a year. If you didn't smoke enough or smoked non-Chinese brands you would be fined. Then tons of people began throwing shit fits and the government reversed the order.

Anyhow, I am doing well, although I was sick as a dog all of last week and I'm still coughing a fair amount now. Having fun at school, and this friday I'm going to do a demo at a middle school on how to make chainmaille and sword fight and stuff for my medieval reenactment group.
My computer is also acting up. The drivers that control the keyboard and mouse got deleted, so I literally cannot do anything once I turn my computer on (stealing Chessie's for now). So my stepdad is mailing me his Windows re-install disk, so hopefully I can fix this soon.
I should go back to cleaning and studying now.

It was written in the 1970's, and is a sci-fi novel about this guy, William Mandella, who gets drafted into the army to fight a war against aliens. However, due to time dilation from Faster than Light Travel, while it seems to take 10 months or so to reach the various battlegrounds, it actually takes closer to 70-120 years round trip. Hence the title.
Also on a fun note, in the Adrian Empire I got promoted to Minister of Archery, so I get to organize and run the archery events, so that should be fun. Also, on Memorial Day weekend we are having a huge 3-day event, the Banner War. This should be excellent, all of the members from Oregon, Washington, and Idaho all coming together to fight a huge war with each other. I'm very excited about it.

Oh, by the way, my religion professor (who is a priest) told us in class the other day that one of the most often quoted parts of the Bible to prove that homosexuality is wrong is actually most likely a mistranslation. Seems in the original copies of the Bible (which were in Greek) there was a word that they didn't know what it means. So they just guessed and put in homosexual. My professor then said that there are other ancient Greek manuscripts with this word, and they still don't know what it means, but by context they realized it is something done between a husband and wife. Kinda hard for a man to have homosexual relations with his wife. Anyway, that amused, well, not so much amused as really pissed off the entire class.
As for me, I am doing well, things are busy but fun, and too damn expensive. I am in a funny state of mind, I am being confronted by all of these biggots and lying politicians, and ignorant people, and a shitty economy, etc. etc. etc. It's enough to make me kind of wish I could move to Canada or Europe or something and pretend to not be an American. So I'll stop ranting now and go eat dinner.

On another note, my computer sucks. Also, it has decided that it's CD drive doesn't exist anymore. Nevermind that it does, the comp just won't read it.

On a more positive note, the novel I am trying to write is coming along. Not a lot on the page though. Made tons of progress on the world in my head though, which is a good start. Also, my copy of Oblivion got scratched something awful when the Xbox 360 was moved with the game in it. (I didn't do it!) And after much ado, we got some Brasso and scratched the hell out of the scratches and not not only is my Oblivion copy shinier, it also works again! Triumph!

Um... I can't think of much else to say. Life has been hectic as hell and stressful with the approach of school and just busy and crazy in general. So um, I think I will go back to writing now. Hope everyone is well!

Um... not much is new. I beat Mass Effect and Assassin's Creed are the only interesting things that have happened lately. Other than that my life has consisted of packing shite. ME and AC rock. AC's ending is the worst ending in the history of bad endings. I am finally going to archery again, so that is nice. My shooting is actually improving too. My buddy Foster let me shoot his amazing Korean short bow, and I must say, after using that, my good ol' longbow seemed kind of lame. Oh, and I've decided that I'm not buying anymore Warhammer ever and instead I want to play Warmachine. I've been on a board/tabletop games binge. I got tired of sitting in front of computer screens. I'll just wait until some more niffty games come out, like Gears of War 2. Oh, and it's nice too, since all of my hobbies are expensive, it makes me extra happy that Oregon has no sales tax. I can't think of much else... I did write a short story though that I'll have to post. Hope everyone is well!

Anyway... registering for classes in college is a severe pain in the ass, this card deal is uber inconvnient, I'm swamped with work, I haven't been able to see much of my friends, and I can't get a fucking word in to the girl I like since she got in back from Japan.

However... at least I'm going to college, they didn't clean my account out, and I'm being reimbursed, I have a good job, I have good friends, and I have a girl who (at least a month ago) cared about me. So, all in all, I'm feeling pretty good. I'm not crippled, sick, or dead, so that is always a good thing. I've got to say, I prefer the XBox 360 and I really think that "Gears of War" has spoiled me to almost all other first person shooters.
