Thank you all so much for 4000 effin views! Now being a friend of JakeNova (with his 20,000 views or whatever ) this might not seem so much, but to think I pulled that off in one year...with mostly Original Art! :cheer: (no offence to fanartists whatsoever) Because even you guys know that it's easier to pull those views through Naruto and Bleach fanart, but the way I see it, no one is going to hire someone who does only fanart, plus I do like the more conceptual side of art.

So thank you ALL so much for sticking with me even though I was pretty much rotting in the ground because of school. There's this book I should be illustrating (but as you can guess, I am procrastinating), but I promise, I am working on another original as we speak.

=================

Anyway, off topic, I had a chance to go to my first anime convention last Easter weekend, which was more fun that I could have expected. In case you're all wondering, I did end up going as Nel, and it was extremly cold. However, the artist alley made up for it, because I never realized how many amazing artists there were in Arizona. I really pulled a lot of inspiration from them, and will be holding my own artist table at the next Anime Convention in October! Wish me luck, and thanks again!

SPOILER AHEAD!

I'm sure that most of the manga-reading Naruto fans have been effected, either positively nor negatively towards Hinata's sudden death. Personally, I am outraged on how desperatly Kishimoto is trying to gain attention by killing off important characters one by one. I admit that Itachi's and Jiraya's deaths were really a bridge, but was the deaths of Kakashi and Hinata really that necessary? Yes it adds to story, but I honestly do not think it's worth it. Especially after Hinata's death. She finally admits her love to him and on the very next page of the manga, she's stabbed. T_T I don't know about you, but even if she was going to die, she should have at least died in a more meaningful way...

It's not that I'm mad or anything, I just wanna know what's going through Kishimoto's head because it's obviously not the better good for his manga.

Self-Advertising

!!!!! I'm going through that same phase AGAIN (cuz i love it) with D.Gray-Man.

I got the first book on a whim, and already it ASTOUNDED me; so I just go the 2nd one. I'm telling you, the plotline could NOT have been written any better! The characters are just so well depicted and the plot was as original as original gets! *swoon* I love it when a I find a piece of genius...and the art is phenomenal! It's also got a good taste in humor.

So if you're stuck and just dying of waiting for the next Bleach episode, or the next Naruto manga, pick up D.Gray-Man sometime, I assure you, you'll love it!

It's fall break here in gilbert, and I had a whole week planned full of drawing and art-ing...there's just one problem...I'm working.

I'm trying to stuff in as many things as I can, but Hallow's Eve is coming up...and i need the monies.

===============================

I'm currently working on three projects. The first involves a promise I made to where I make an OC for his manga, Spirit Song, which you should totally check out. I've been obsessed with electric violins lately, so that's gonna be her spirit instrument.

I'm also doing a few changes to Masaru, giving him more detail in his history and changing his looks completely. I've also been working on my original comic...I am no comic maker.

And third, I'm working on developing a new style of photoshoping...rather than coloring the lineart, I'm working on painting. Where there are NO LINES and you depend highly on the colors themselves...it's gonna be pretty disheartening for a while, but hopefully it'll get better...I'll always have my friends' support ^^

======================

So yeah, sorry for not updating for a while...i just really have nothing to talk about. It would help if people talked to me...^^'

And no, it is not me. As a lot of you probably know, DA is really a huge popularity contest and even those without the page-view deserving talent are getting more pageviews for various reasons, whether it be persueding their friends to watch them, drawing fanart, or drawing fetish pictures and whatnot.

However, I have come across a deviant whose work never fails to surprise me...but her pageviews surprise me even more. This fact saddens me, and i feel that she deserves attention for her hard work. So feel free to browse through her work, one which, had inspired me to draw my moon goddess. Maybe DA will change for the better someday...

I should really be smacked for not updating often It's just that I figured since I don't watch the journals of other people, no one would be interested in what I have to say...^^'It's just that writers write and artists do artsy stuff...it's very rare that you find a person who does both well. It's like whistling and snapping. Usually one or the other. Rarely both.

ANYWAY, back on topic, I actually took a trip to Japan this week , and have gone to several different art stores, and have found them worth telling you about.

First is screentone. Those who have attempted at authentic manga have probably heard of such a thing. If not, it's the texture effects you find in manga that comes in sheets. Those in the US usually try to addapt without it because it's difficult to find, but in Japan, they actually sell them in stores. They're as easy as finding books, there were shelves and shelves of 'em! My gawd, it was so awsome!

Have you ever heard a manga artist advise you not to use american written how-to-draw-manga books? I have, and at first I was like, whatever, if it looks good, I'll buy it. However, that was before I actually got my hands on an actual Japanese how-to-draw book. I got one on perspective, and although I cannot understand any of the writing, it was much more helpful than any of the english books I've read in my whole life. I'm not exaggerating when I say that Japanese how-to-draw books kick american how-to-draw books in their asses.

I swear I could practically LIVE at the art stores. There were so many things there that were made ESPECIALLY for manga drawing such as copic markers, the feather duster, pens that use ink form a bottle, manga paper, and other tools. Usually, we need to adapt the tools we could get our hands on in the US to use on our drawings...but they have it all in one convienant store...

So I advise to anyone that is going to Japan that is a manga aritst, BRING MONEY! It's hella expensive, but soooo worth it. (The markers I bought were 3 dollars a piece) Buy as many things as you can that catch your eye, especially books!

so that all I had to say about the state of bliss I was in while there Hope you get the chance to go there yourself!

P.S. sorry I haven't submitted anything in a while, I'm actually almost done with the project I'm doing now. It's just one that has taken a lot of overdoing. Gomen nasai and arigatou gozaimas for reading!

P.S.S. Eat sushi when you're there too..a LOT of it...the most delicious sushi evah!

Hiya guys! Okay, so I've discovered this ongoing war on DA about OCs and Fanart. There are quote a lot of people who attack those who do Fanart. Now I do BOTH so i support BOTH. However, an artist cannot always do art of another person's.

In short, I'm going to start doing some of my original art. For those who are watching me BECAUSE i'm a fanartist, which is probably all of you ^^', i'm extremly sorry, but I will be doing more of my own art. Don't get me wrong, I WON'T stop doing FanArt, but i'm trying to cut back.

I love you guys and would REALLY appreciate it if you stayed with me in my time of doing my own work. XD Arigatou!

~*~Info on my new OC~*~

To start of my original art streak, I'm gonna start going into detail about my new OC, Masaru! Thank you all for helping me to decide the name =^_^=. He's going to be a ninja from the Sand. He is going to be a weaponist but his primary weapons will be the boa staff and a bow. I might give him a katana, but that's kinda overused. He is skilled when it comes to pressure points and what makes him most interesting is that he is going to be blind. For some reason, i have a tendency to give my characters' eyes some kind of speciality. Anyways, he plays the cello in his spare time and i'm gonna submit a piece of artwork about it later. Thanks again!

^^' So I was reading some manga on the internet that surpasses the anime and I found myself very interested in Sai. He's a most interesting character. At first he's the asshole of the team, and Naruto works his magic and Sai becomes a strangly humain character. He grew up being told that he's not allowed to have emotions, yet he's this insanly talented artist. When he starts having bonds with people, he reads about how emotions work.XD It's kinda cute really, the way he's so socially clueless. He's quickly tearing his way up my favorite characters. I think he's my second now...course, he'll never surpass Gaara=kun. X3

Also, I saw how Sasuke looks when he finally came back... No offense to anyone who likes Sasuke, but he looks so damn gay.

Anyways, i feel like drawing Sai or something. ^^' Hopefully, I'll get a chance to draw a Death Note pic too.
