I'm curious as to what kind of struggles and excitements I'll encounter this year. Part of me can't wait to find out.

Oh yeah, I'm also looking for a job. Yesterday was dedicated to finding applications and what not. I went to about six places. I was only able to pick up one. :<
I wanted to keep fast food out of the question, but, eh...yeah, that probably isn't going to happen.
Job surfing is such fun.
But I'm not going to meditate on that now. Right now, I've got Wolfmother playing, I'm sitting on my bed, and about to work on some art. I'm feeling pretty good right now. =3

As of right now, I have two drawings in the making, plus a project that is pending. So, expect to see a few new pieces in the near future.

A lot has happened since March. I've been put in the hostpital, visited Justin (that was a blast :3), picked up poi, my mom remarried, I moved to a new house, and...well, a lot has changed.
But I have to say, life's pretty good now. =3

Umm...well, that's about all I have. I'ma find a new verse to put up, and maybe a new layout for my journal.

Here's a tag I found.

"Closer to Love" by Matt Kearney. I can relate to this song quite a bit.

2- If you were a fruit, what would you be?

Hmm...either an apple or a mango. Both are quite delicious, and mangoes make good ice cream.

3- If you were a cartoon character, who would you be?

IDK really...

4- If you were an anime character, who would you be?

I haven't seen a whole lot of anime...but I would have to say Sakaki from Azumanga Daioh. She's quiet, and is sort of an outsider.

5- If you were a singer, who would you be?

IDK, but if I could chose a band I wanted to be in, it would be Skillet, hands down.

6- If you were an animal, what would you be?

A lone wolf (who'da thunk?): I see myself as an outsider.

7- If you were a toy, what would you be?

Hm...I wanna say something like a die cast model; something nice to look at, but not to play with.
But, in the terms of toys...uh...right, I have no clue.

8- If you were a kitchen utensil, what would you be?

A knife. A very long, sharp knife.

9- If you were a plant, what would you be?

Well, I'm not too familiar with a lot of flowers, but I would like to be a stargazer lily (look it up if you're not familiar; even if you are, you should anyway 'cause they are pretty. =3).

10- If you were junk food, what would you be?

Umm...Ice cream.

11- If you were a color, what would you be?

A deep red, like burgundy.

12- If you were a gem stone, what would you be?

A ruby, perhaps?

13- If you were a DA emote, what would you be?

IDK. Haven't given it much thought, I guess.

15- If you were a musical instrument, what would you be?

A bass guitar.

Uhh...I dunno, actually. o_0

Shotgun. Nuff said.

Another tough question, I see.

FIRE cause it's unpredictable.

CHRISTMAS EDITION Y'ALL!!

Well, 'tis that time of year again.
Yup, Christmas. The time where stores are filled with customers doing there last-minute shopping. When Christmas carols are all one hears on the radio. When we take this time to be with family and ones we hold dear...Ya know, I think this has to be one of the busiest times of the year. I mean, think about it. We're all in a rush to get this and that done before the new year comes and this one comes to an end.
Sometimes, we even forget the real meaning behind the season.
No, I'm not gonna talk about Santa and his reindeers blah blah blah...Let's set aside the commercialism that covers the true story for a bit. That's right y'all...

The poem was a tad bit long...so I'ma replace it with a joke I know!

There was a pirate ship floating in the middle of the ocean. Within this pirate ship, the captain was doing whatever a pirate captain does. Up in the crow's nest, one of the captain's men shouted down to the captain,
"Captain! There is an enemy ship on the horizon!"
To which the captain replied (while looking out into the distance),
"Bring me my red shirt!"
So, one of his men brought the captain his red shirt.
They battled the enemy ship, blah blah blah, then later that night, they had a feast to celebrate their victory. One of the pirates came up to the captain and asked,
"Sir, why did you send for your red shirt?"
"Well, if I were shot or wounded, you wouldn't see the blood and you'd just keep fighting."
"Oooooh...."
NEXT DAY!
Same ol' story...captain's doing whatever a captain does when the guy in the crow's nest shouts down to him...

The last of the Church Camp journal entries! 'Bout time!

DAY 4

Breakfast: 2 biscuits w/ sausage and strawberry jelly, cereal, and orange juice.

Lunch: 2 hotdogs, salad, and lemonade.

1.) I went back up to the Prayer Garden to do something called the 'Hour of Solitude'. I got to spend one hour by myself on the mountaintop with God. I loved it!! ^_^
2.) Heh heh...I auditioned for the All State Babtist Choir thingee (I'm gonna cut some of the explination out cuz I've already told you people about that.) Although I was unprepared and somewhat nervous, I thought I did pretty good...

Supper: Cheeseburger, a pudding-desert thing, lemonade, and salad.

DAY 5

Breakfast: Biscuits and gravy.

I must have C-R-A-Z-Y.
Last night, I signed up for the 5k race (which is about about 3.1 miles). So, this morning I got up (btw I woke up with a nasty and I mean NASTY nose bleed. It steadily continued through the whole race. SICK!!!!! XP), 'zombied' my way to the bathroom, got dressed, stretched, ate some fruit, drank some good 'ol H2O, and headed off to the starting line. If I haven't mentioned it already...I AM NOT A CROSS COUNTRY RUNNER. So why did I sign up??? GOOD QUESTION. REALLY REALLY GOOD QUESTION. Anyway, my body was sooooo out of whack, I kept stopping every 3 minutes to walk and hold the rest of my friends back (I called myself the weight of the group XD).
Before I knew it, the race was over. I lost count of the people who were infront of me...but there were about 15 people behind me!! XD

Lunch: 2 'Wo'manwitches!! (Haha get it? It's supposed to be 'Manwitches' but it's 'Wo-manwitches'! XD btw a Manwitch is a sloppy joe...), salad, icecream, and lemonade.

Supper: Chicken, mashed potatoes w/ gravy, corn, DrPepper, and lemonade.

Ooooookay peoplez! I am very very VERY proud to proclaim that I will resume working on mah comic!!! JOYNESS! Anyhoo...there's a teeny-tiny itsy-bitsy problem...
Teh comic needs a new name!! D=

The old one was 'The Chronicles of Emparia' (lame name, I know), but that can't work anymore since I want it to be a trilogy. I was considering the title 'The Emparian Trilogy', but I just don't know...I'll be more than enthusiastic about any suggestions you people might have!

Moving on! School starts back up on the 15th this month...TT_TT. Of course, I want to see some of the people i haven't seen for three months, but school?! TT_TT Oh summer vacation...my sweet jubalation...WHERE DA HECK D'JOO GO?!?!

Let's see...I thought I had something else to mention...oh yeah!! I get to take my county fair contest entry to the fair grounds this Thursday. I'm actually quite nervous...why? I'll be a n00b!! I'm facing up against high school peepz!! D=
...meh, oh well. I'll still make the competition something those peoplez will NEVER forget!!! >= D

Camp Journal!

DAY 3
Breakfast: Bacon, toast, cereal, and orange juice.

Lunch: Peanut butter w/ strawberry jelly, BBQ chips, salad, and lemonade.

1) This afternoon, a big group from our church took a ropes course challenge. I remember two things:
a) While we were walking, we had to chant,
"I'm a pretty pretty princess and I'm oh so pretty!!"
Ha....riiiiight...
b)...so...many...s-spiders...*shivers*
2) After a long and tiring walk up a mountain, I got to witness one of the coolest and most relaxing thing about Falls Creek...The Prayer Garden. Since it sat high on a mountain, there was an AWESOMETASTIC view of Falls Creek, the Arbuckle Mountains, and a waterfall which was halfway hidden by a thick cluster of trees. There were (and still) sooo many people I wanted to take up there...it was truly amazing!

Supper: Lasangnea, bread, salad, and water.

Spiritual Progress: I felt God move within my soul this evening!!

*Side note* Jesus Christ desires Christians to recognize Him as Lord and Saviour of their lives all the time .

It's morning and my allergies are goind crazy (I took some medicine so it should get better as the day progresses.). I am so tired right now, I feel as if I could sleep the day away...

Sooooo, to share the experience with you, I wrote little journal entries for every day I was there. I can't throw all of them into one journal, but I can put them into separate journals. I'll start with day 1!!!

DAY 1 OF CHURCH CAMP

We've finally arrived at Falls Creek after a looooong bus ride. On the way here, I worked a little on page 2 of my comic. I also watched parts of 2 movies: 'Radio' and 'Mission: Impossible'. So cool.

Well, I have alot to work on (comic, the script, contest entry, and an art trade. I have no time for procrastination!!)

Later...

WOW!!! The new tabernacle looks AMAZING!!! It's so big! AND AIRCONDITIONED!!! We are so blessed...
The speaker is really motivational too. Tonight, he was saying how frustrating it must be to be lost and to have the wrong people give you directions (spiritually). He also said how some relationships with God are just 'breathe ins'--the person just takes it in and keeps it to themself. The right kind of relationship with God is one that takes in, then lives it out! I want, no, NEED, that kind of relationship!

Supper: Pizza, salad, and lemonade.
Progress on comic/projects: Chapter 1 Page 2 started
Progress on spiritual walk: doing good, but better is possible! Gotta pray for a revival!!

"The Ultimate Choice"

-Psalms 1:1-6 (NKJ version)
"(1)Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful (2) But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. Today, I went with my sis and grandparents and their friends for breakfast a a coolio cafe. I wasn't really hungry, so I ordered a DrPepper, whipped out my sketch book, and sank into the pages of my imagination. Without notice, one of my grandparents' friends asks to see my sketchbook. So, I handed her my sketchbook, and listened to what she had to say. My grandmother (I call her Mema) started talking about how much I draw, what I draw, and stuff along those lines. Then I hear her say, "Now, if I could get her to step away from that...wierd stuff...and into drawing portraits of real people..."
I toned out at that point.

Later, she says, "Des, I would really like to see you step away from...your gothic style...and into other things. You know, spread your wings!"

Me:"Wait...I've never heard it put that way before...gothic? That sounds a little...dark."

Mema:" Well, you have such great talent, and I just thought it would be pretty neat for you to spread your wings rather than just stay in a little box with your talent. Get what I'm saying?"

Me:"Of course."

Mema: "Just give it some thought, ok?"

Me: (smiling understandingly) "I will."

And trust me...I have. ALOT. I began looking back into my sketchbook, thinking, "Is it really that dark? Do people really think they're gothic?" I tossed and turned it in my head the rest of the day. I also began thinking, "Should I change my style? Would that really be part of God's will for my talent?"

What do you people think? Please, please, PLEASE be honest. I have no use for lies right now. I am NOT against my grandmother AT ALL. I'm not angry, [link], or anything like that. I love her as a family! It's the thoughts that are...getting to me. I am REALLY going to take this to God, but it's nice to hear others as well.

Ok, about those Holocaust journals. At my school, we're doing this Holocaust simulation where the students are the 'victims' and the teachers/staff are the 'Nazis'. The students have to carry around little fake passports; if a 'victim' is caught without their passport, they are reported and deported to fake concentration/death camps. This has been going on for about two weeks. Just to play along, I decided to come up with a name and write a journal closely related to the simulation. For example: if I am 'deported' (which i've already been deported for no apparent reason-I'm in a concentration camp called Mauthausen) then the character in my journal will be too. If this is confusing in any way, tell me and I'll try to sort it out.

Any suggestions on a good name the girl in the journal???
