I'm leaving DA. Actually, I left a long time ago, and I'm telling you that the odds of me coming back are less than Matsuda being Kira according to L. My art is staying. My favs are staying. Everything is staying just as it was, except for me. I may fav art every now and then and if you're lucky you'll get a comment out of me. I gotta admit, if you're reading this, you are probably a really cool person, especially if you read all of it.

There's just...a year ago I'd say I didn't have time for DA. That's still the same, except I longer even feel like coming here.

My page has been dead for months. The last journal was in July. And then may before that. As a matter of fact, I think I left just shortly after DA's new design was put out. It's pretty nice, I gotta say. I'm not leaving because of it.

I....I must admit, I've been pleasantly surprised with the comments and favs I've gotten. 41 in activity and 19 favs. That's like, five times more than what I thought it would be after 4 months.

What happened almost 1 year ago?
Steve, on of my high school friends, committed suicide sometime in October 2007. I don't have the exact date. He was a Christian from a great Christian family, a great and funny guy, and as far as I know there was absolutely nothing that could've led him to it. His parents are among the greatest people I've ever met. Then, in early December they invited all of Steve's friends over for the day that would've been his birthday. We all got to know them and Steve better. And as we left, they said "If you ever need anything, someone to talk to or whatever you're always welcome here."

Then, almost exactly a week from that, on December 17, 2007. My father committed suicide. For him, I had seen it coming somewhat. I predicted that with all the problems he had with his job and his really poor choice of a new wife, that he would somewhere down the line be driven to suicide. But I thought that would've been years down the line, like 5 at least.

For a while I was....uncomfortable with the fact that I never shed a tear for either of them. I felt pretty down, though. For a long time, I had hated my father. Wished he was never around. But in the months before he died, I came to accept him for who he was. I did come to love him, forgive him, ignore the terrible mistakes he had made with his families. It didn't solve all his problems, though. I was at peace with him. And, like they offered, Steve's parents were right there. It felt so good to have them. I made it through, and with no loss of myself or who I am.

WHERE I AM TODAY.
I gotta confess, if I had two brain cells devoted to concentration I would be working on an English essay due in two days. And immediately after typing that, I took a 10 minute break to watch Family Guy. You see what I'm talking about?
Anyway, I'm in college now. University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Roomate's my best friend. Got a new laptop that can actually do things. I'm studying to be an English major....I guess? Classes are going....better than high school classes (That doesn't necessarily mean good).

I've been watching Death Note a second time around, Azumanga Daioh (50% hilarious, 50% cute, all good), Fate/Stay Night (which is definitely a must-see anime), and Lost and Gurren Lagann on Sci-Fi. Also, I watched a few episodes of Walker Texas Ranger and Law and Order. They are actually pretty good. I know understand why people make Chuck Norris jokes: he's live action Dragonball Z without energy blasts and Super Saiyan. Law and Order is good, but like Death Note it's only good if you pay attention a lot. Yeah, I never watched Lost until like a month ago. And I hate myself for not catching it when it was all the rage. At least I get a 4-hour block of it every week. Playing Xbox 360, Halo 3, Elder Scrolls Oblivion, Assassin's Creed, and just finished Grand Theft Auto IV and Bioshock (every acheivement except Brass Balls). Also Spore (my first PC game. Risk II doesn't f***ing count). Played the demo for Mirror's Egde and I want to buy or acquire it sometime in the future. My Wii and my DS are collecting dust. The PS2 not so much but it's well on its way after my roomate finished .hack//GU and moved onto Soul Calibur IV.

I had to leave certain things behing moving from Omaha to Lincoln. My family moved to a new house almost exactly a week after I moved to college so it was one hell of a departure. The first Oblivion fanfiction is titled "The Dark Gift". Now, anyone who has gotten to the middle of the Dark Brotherhood quests knows the Dark Gift is becoming a vampire. What's so special? This story is non-action. I doubt you can guess where this is going. If you like Oblivion or just plain vampires, check it out when I've submitted it.

But wait! I said "first Oblivion fanfiction". That means there's more?! I haven't finalized the idea yet, but until further notice it's called "Cyrodiilic Masters". It's about the conflict between two characters (which are actually the names of my two chars in the game). The first account was Fervor, a male Khajiit thief that becomes Listener for the Dark Brotherhood, the Second Gray Fox, and a vampire. He lives across several homes, eventually ending up in the downloadable expansion Vile Lair, a.k.a. Deepscorn Hollow. The second is Imilia, a Breton witch that becomes Grand Champion of the Arena, Arch-Mage of the Mage's Guild, and Guildmaster of the Fighter's Guild. She lives at first with her father, then the Wizard's Tower expansion, Frostcrag Spire. One Evil. One Good. All of Cyrodiil will watch as the story culminates in the final battle between the two most famous Guildmasters ever. And it is also an alternate ending to my long-running main work, Kingdom of Scions. I know it sounds weird, considering I have only barely started on it and I'm already making a sequel, but.....I guess that's how I roll. However, it will not contain spoilers from KoS, just Oblivion itself.

Oh, and my Bioshock Project is on hold until I get addicted to it again. But it's not cancelled.

However, Pokemon Rebirth Edition is cancelled.....for me anyway. can't contain the excitement he had for it and has requested that he be allowed to complete the series, picking up where I left off. I wish him the best of luck.

Bioshock? Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion? A few mentions of Halo 3? It doesn't take a genius to figure out what's going on here! That's right! I have an XBOX 360! My gamertag is Crose Buhrn and that is with a space in between them. Unfortunately, I am currently addicted to Oblivion, which is a single-player game. I also have Bioshock, Halo 3, Orange Box (to be honest, I only care about Portal), Grand Theft Auto IV, and Assassin's Creed. Oh, and on that last one, that's the only one I haven't gotten to play too much yet. I mean, these are all new games to me and I just haven't gotten to that one yet.

Anyway, I have a feeling you're going to see quite a few submissions coming up. I've got a lot of stuff already typed up and a lot to work on.

1) MORE Kingdom of Scions excerpts! Witness my new and improved writing form!
2) Essays and stories from school! What does SSL believe in? Does he ever incorporate games or anime into his writing? What the heck is .hack? All of these questions will be answered by me, the expert on those topics.
3) Crossover fights! [link] The ones most likely to head your way soon are Izumi vs Tsunade and Gaara vs Tri-Edge
4) A comic series based off of actual events while working at Gamestop! It's called Increasing Product Knowledge. I chose that title because of one of the bonuses at working at Gamestop. *ahem* "Employee's are allowed to check out (rent for free) video games for up to 4 days (counting the day of check out). The game must have more than one copy in stock and cannot be a new release or a quickly selling title. The only games that cannot be checked out are those bundled with peripherals (ex: Wii Play, Eye of Judgement) and those with content writable only by the original owner (non-used DS games and most PC games). Employee's are permitted to check out games to increase their product knowledge." While this is all true, the reality is that checking them out is usually just a super special awesome bonus, as far as the newbie employees care. We joke around the phrase "increase product knowledge" whenever a good game comes out.

No further word will be announced as to when these will be released, unless you ask me. The next you will hear of these is in your devwatch and my gallery.

The old SSL has lost his way. He's barely active and doesn't even have MS Word anymore. My comp's been shot to crap and my new one isn't much better at all. By the looks of it, I may never submit another thing again (though there's a chance I might and will).

I...I really don't know what's going to happen next. But I'm going to tell you what's on my mind right now. Remember, nothing I say regarding when and what deviation I'm going to post is guaranteed. BUUUUUT.....

1)Pictures. Real-Life pictures. They're probably coming.
2)Drawings. Yeah I'm going to......wait, WHAT?!?! SSL is going to DRAW?! On deviantART?! And humans too instead of just weapons?! MADNESS!! SPARTAAAA!!!
3)And, of course, Stories.

I bet there's a few things you're wondering (assuming that people still care about them).

First of all, FFXII: Solidor Children is almost done! Or....the writing is. I estimate around 40-45 chapters total. Long enough to be a book.

Now that I mention it....I've decided that once I complete FFXII: SC.....I'm going to redo it.......without the Final Fantasy parts. That's right. I'm modifing Solidor Children into an original series that requires NO PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE OF ANYTHING!!!! I'm changing names, characters, main events of plot history, I'm jacking up this FF fanfiction series to make it so far from the true FFXII storyline that it is virtually my own original book.

The new book? I will call it "Kingdom of Scions". Crose and Imilia will still be in it, and their backgrounds are still going to be similar enough. Some of the changes are going to be in name. For example, "Archadia" will become "Armadomia", "Nabradia" will become "Vallora", and some drastic changes concerning Dalmasca, which will go from desert to rural country "Rezter". I haven't come up with all the name changes yet (especially the characters), but I will someday.

Aaaannnd........bad news for fans of Pokemon: Rebirth Version. I have completely lost any and all passion for Pokemon. Poof. It's gone. I have absolutely no desire to involve myself at all with anything that has to do with Diamond, Pearl, and Battle Revolution. The new Pokemon are just....uninteresting. Their design is either "cute", "weird", or just plain "ugly". There are barely any Pokemon among the new ones that look like they could kick someone's ass. Also, I've made mistakes in Rebirth Version concerning the Legendary Pokemon. On top of that, the new cast of Pokemon outdates my fanfic with all the new Legendaries. Yeah. I've giving up on the series. Dropped like a brick. I really appreciate all the support it was given while I was gone, but it is officially cancelled and discontinued.

Nintendo rant: I have both a Wii and DS. And I'm starting to feel really disappointed in their games. Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 3, Super Mario Galaxy, and of course Super Smash Bros. Brawl (yay! Animal Crossing and Sonic! Get Shadow too plz!) . That's it for the Wii. Those are the only things out on it or coming out that I feel like I may buy (but I did hear a Tales of Symphonia sequel rumor somewhere, so maybe that too). I mean, everything else just seems so bland, boring, and half-assed (unless I'm forgetting something). As for the DS, there are just a little bit more that may interest me. Guess what is NOT one of those games I may buy for the DS? Phantom Hourglass. Yeah. You heard SuperSaiyanLink. I don't see why I should waste my money on it. It just seems like a quirky touch-screen pseudo-sequel to Wind Waker. It just seems like a mildly fun game with almost no plot or coolness factor to it. The entire game is generally played on the touch screen?! Pssh. *spits* I'm really ticked at all this "innovative" touch-screen of DS and motion-sense of Wii. I can take innovative stuff, but I feel like they've gone too far recently. It seems like Nintendo is sacrificing coolness and hardcore gamers for "gimmicks" and new gamers. I'm even planning on getting an XBOX 360 so the gamer inside doesn't die of disgust.

Anyway, I hope to see more of you guys soon. You guys are every bit as much my friends as the people on Youtube. I just might be completely back soon!

I HAVE NOT STOPPED WRITING, I HAVE STOPPED TYPING.

But do know what I am stopping? I don't want to tell you I'll upload a chapter and then never do it. So I won't tell you anything. It's not fair for me to do that to you guys. So I'll upload it....whenever I upload it.

I checked and in my messages I have 20 favs and watches. There was a time when I would have smiled at that and whispered "Yes...." out load. There was a time when I would be overjoyed to see that happen. But I look at the screen, at more favs and watch notices than I've ever had, and.... it means nothing.

You may be wondering "Well, what are you going to do now, SSL?" The answer is that I will not be doing anything different than usual. What has changed is YOU, my friends. Now you KNOW that I will not be here.

When will I be back? It is unclear, but I WILL be. Like......Frosty the Snowman. (*gasp* A non-nerdy reference?!). "I'll be back again someday...." Yeah, like Christmas 2008 for goodness sake. But then again, the spark may return tomorrow. Or next week. Or next 2 years.

Yeah, I'm going to try and kick out as many chapters of Solidor Children as I can. Then all you non-FFXII fans can finally remember why you watch me.

But before that, I want to finish two AMVs: 1) Faint Remix Multi-MV and 2) a .hack//SIGN,ROOTS,GU,Infection-Quarantine tribute with the song Silly-Go-Round. After that, I'll post more chapters

You want to know what's coming next after those? SC2! :shot: No, it's not exactly what you think. I realized something: I like Crose and Imilia as OCs more than I like FFXII. But I want to keep their personalities (which means I must keep their backgrounds). Do you know what that means?

Crose and Imilia are now the official 2 main Original Characters (OCs) for most of SuperSaiyanLink's stories.

SC2 means 2 things: 1) SOUL CALIBUR 2 and 2) Solidor Children 2.

Project SC2 is something anyone who's played and loved Soul Calibur 2 can read and get something out of it (and you don't have to read FFXII:SC to understand SC2). But at the same time, fans from FFXII can still get something great out of it. I won't spoil it for you yet, but Crose and Imilia destroy the Sun-Cryst during SC1 (well, actually Reddas finishes the job like in the game), and now they must destroy the Moon-Cryst.........which happens to have manifested itself as Nightmare's Soul Edge from the Soul Calibur series.

But wait! There's other things I'm thinking about. Also coming not-so-soon is a brand-new series: Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Wars. That is, of course, a title I came up with on the spot. It will almost certainly be renamed, but shares the same concept.

At the end of GTA:VC, Tommy Vercetti has emerged victorious and now rules Vice City with fear and power (oooh. BIG spoiler. . Chief of Police Geno (the same law-enforcing OC from my Star Wars fanfic) is Vice City's last representative of order and federal law. With Vercetti's rise to power, Geno was transferred to Vice City to lead the Police into restoring order to the corrupt land. But with incompetent and undertrained officers and a very low budget, Cheif Geno is the only man to overthrow the crime lord. This is not necessarily Goodguy-vs-Badguy, this is Geno-vs-Vercetti, and in this fanfic, Geno can just as cruel and ruthless (maybe even more) than Tommy. They are both main characters, two protagonists against each others throats.

Also, I'm waiting for Kingdom Hearts 3, .hack//G.U. Vol 3, and all the .hack//ROOTS dvds to come out before I publish my next two obsessions: Crossover Hearts and .hack//DRAIN.

Crossover Hearts replaces the KH cast with characters from almost every show and game imaginable (from Tales of Symphonia to Golden Sun to Fullmetal Alchemist to .hack). However, there will still be plenty of Final Fantasy and some very interesting references to Sora and the others (and even my ancient fanfic Crossover). The original chapters are in my gallery (though after KH3, I'll restart it from scratch). Do the math:

Kingdom Hearts - Sora - Sora's Friends - Disney + Everything awesome = Crossover Hearts

As for .hack/DRAIN, the plot of .hack is always so confusing and put together, I'm still working on the central plot, so no details yet.

But it seems like.....like no one cares about anything. People don't care about FFXII:SC (which is totally mega-understandable if you haven't played it). I don't find their deviations interesting at all. People don't care about my journals. And I find it harder and harder to read and comment to theirs.

I'm going to keep posting chapters of Solidor Children. I'm not sure why, though. And I also don't know when you're going to see the next one.

I'm also working more on videos for my Youtube account. AMVs and GMVs, of course. A few parodies too.

And I also believe only 3 people maximum are going to comment to this. Most likely 0. Is ANYBODY caring about ANYTHING?

Am I still going to go on Hiatus? Too soon to say. Apparently, I've got a lot to do.

First things first: I GOT A JOB AT GAMESTOP!!!! WOOOOOOOOO-HOOOOOOO!!!!

Second, NEARLY ALL NON-LITERATURE DEVIATIONS ARE NOW IN THE SCRAPS. In fact, if you wait for anything that resembles a picture, chances are I will submit it in the scraps.

You see, a long long time ago in a devart account extremely close to mine there was a user called ~SuperSaiyanLink14 Some of you still remember him. Slowly, but surely, he is dying (which, in my opinion, is excellant). For once, I appreciate the fact he's been ignored.

But the problem is this: He's been ignoring himself. Almost a year, and I still haven't fully transferred over from SSL14 to SSL. Well I am here to tell you that a new era is rising! An era of reform! It's victory...is at hand! :shot:

SuperSaiyanLink 2.0

Uh huh. That's right. There's something else you've probably forgotten: [link] and [link] The notebook containing 70% of my non-Crossover ideas was lost, including everything on Crossover Hearts (my idea for Kingdom Hearts that was as big and grand as FF12: Solidor Children). And I've gotten sick of waiting for it to be found.

So everything old I've done will be redone. Edited and much better, using my writing style from FFXII:SC and LoZ:HT. Double the action. Better plot. An all-out awesome-ification of all my works before those two series. And for reference and keeping favs, all of the old versions will be scrapped as the 2.0 version comes out.

So that means the following are coming in the future....
Edward Elric vs. Lloyd Irving 2.0
Zelda: Tales of Mikau 2.0
Glitch 2.0
Crossover Hearts 2.0

Actually, Glitch and Crossover Hearts will be rebuilt from the ground up their plots. Also, since only 2 or 5 chapters were submitted so far for either, they will not be titled 2.0 for the sake of eliminating too much confusion.

In addition, the following new ideas will come in the future as well.....

Of course, most of this will all come after Final Fantasy 12: Solidor Children is completed. So there is no way in heck of knowing when any of this will happen. But it WILL happen.

On top of all that, my original grand series Crossover 1.0 and 2.0 will be resubmitted in CrossoverProductions scraps (see very bottom of journal). However, that is going to get a completely re-done style soon. Exactly when I will get to Crossover 3.0 is unclear.

You thought because summer was here, I'd be more active. Guess what? I wish you were right. I really do. However, I'll be posting a few things before this is effective.

My computer: Memory space still low. AMVs still nearly impossible. I'm working on a Hiatus vid, but I'm going to probably shorten it. A LOT. Actually, they'll link to this journal.........you here yet? I have got a ton of ideas and now no processing power. I'm going to try and clean up memory space, but it could take anywhere from a loooooong time to 1 day before my next vid is seen.

I got it back from the shop! It's screen cracked and they got it fixed! Plus, I got two new games and a Wi-Fi USB connector..........which cannot connect. I don't know why, but it is simply not working! :explode: Fortunately, I have ol' Animal Crossing Wild World and the new Final Fantasy III and Tales of Phantasia to keep me company. I've also got these huge, custom styluses (styli?!) that are uber-cool.

Focus on Compression

Hate to break it to you, but you may not see much of me soon. I'm focusing on Operation Compression (see below). I need decent memory space for my MVs. There are actually a few project I'm working on before any more FFXII stuff. But this gives you plenty of time to read the five chapters I have out (glares at fans who haven't made it that far). I'm working on three main MVs (in order of priority): Haseo the ......BK?, LoZ: Hero of Twilight Trailer, and FFXII:SC Promo 1: He's a Sky Pirate. It'll be on Youtube and this journal coming soon (hopefully).

FFXII Addiction

This weekend I played 40 hours in 4 days, making my total time on my Final Fantasy XII file 140 hours. The only game I think I've spent more time on is Tales of Symphonia (approx. 178 hours). Also, I spent 7 of those hours in the Great Crystal........mapping it out. That's right! First scanner I find, you're getting the map of the unmappable Great Crystal straight from good ol' uncle SSL. I've also drawn amateur reference pics depicting each of the Espers' ultimate attacks. They suck (as all my art does), but they help you remember which attack an Esper has. On a side note, Cuchulahain's Blight attack is one of the grossest things I've ever seen. Keep in mind my OC Crose has to reenact every Esper ability. In Cuchu's Blight (that's the nickname so I don't make more spelling mistakes) a giant tentacle erupts from his a$$ and sucks out all life from the land turning it into a wasteland. Ugh...I'll have nightmares about that. I assure you, Crose's version will have him punching the ground with his fist then sucking up the energy. Anyway, the only things I really have left to do (equipment not counted) is get Zodiark, beat Fafnir, the Seer, Yiazmat, and Omega Mark XII. My levels are around the early 70's and I'm running out of things to do on the License board. Vaan has Adremelech and Ultima, Balthier has Belias, Exodus, and Famfrit, Fran has Mateus and Zalera, Basch has Hashmal and Zeromus, Ashe has Shemhazai (and Zodiark once I get it), and Penelo has Cuchu and Chaos. Vaan uses Excalibur and Ragnarok depending on the situation, Balthier has a Fomalhaut with Dark, Wyrmfire, Aqua, and Silent shots, Fran has Gastrophetes with the main choice of Stone Bolts (gotta love Disable), Basch has Golden Axe with Demon Shield or just Ultima Blade, Ashe has the Zodiac Spear (which used to be mainly used by Vaan), and Penelo has Deathbringer and Demon Shield. Man, look at this report! I'm definitely obsessed.

Bad news. Really bad news. Tomorrow I've got a ton of chores. On Thursday, I leave for my dad's place and I won't be back until Monday. The entire freaking spring break. That's another that just TICKS. ME. OFF. Friday and Monday off school. That's our entire Spring Break. That's IT. I went to AnimeNebraskon (the only anime convention around where I live). First convention ever. Even though I didn't, half the people there cosplayed, to my delight. I was overjoyed to find the three .hack cosplayers (I was worried no one had done it).

~NeoMordiki and I entered the the convention's AMV contest with his 1st AMV (Kingdom Hearts to .hack's theme) my best AMV (KRWLNG with FF, KH, Sonic the Hedgehog, Shadow the Hedgehog, DBZ, and .hack.) This vid was my best by ratings, comments, and favs, and this vid was twice the hit of any of my others. They were about to reveal the spirit award. The announcer said "Ok, this is not the award for the worst AMV submitted. Because there was stuff so crappy, we wouldn't even show you. Like, we got thousands of low-class Kingdom Hearts videos. One Death Note amv where they just put a clip onto a song....all sorts of crap. But among the videos that did not win or come close to winning, this one stood out." So, in theory, they were saying the spirit award was for submitting "The shiniest, golden piece of crap". So immediately, they began to play it on the screen. My first words were "Oh god...." I hung my head. A girl sitting in front of me was like "What's wrong?". I replied "It's mine...!" Oh, I have never been so embarassed in all my life (which isn't hard. I am almost never embarassed). People laughed at parts that were supposed to be serious (lots and lots of it when Sephiroth killed Aerith). The announcer said that it was an ok vid, and that it stood out among the others because it included multiple anime and anime-based games. I got a DBZ cards booster pack and some crappy manga called "Skull Man".

I have TWO jobs now. *claps* I'm working more hours at Gamestop, and now I work at the church as well.

Oh....and......my dad shot himself on December 17th. His new wife was about to hand him divorce papers. He had a new daughter about a year old. But there was a lot of crap happening to him. And he just couldn't take it all. I'm doing fine. In fact, maybe too fine. I didn't shed a tear or break down at all. And it wasn't a tough act, I just....didn't. My little brother and my mom lost it, though. She broke into tears a lot, and my bro's grades dropped like a brick and even now they can't go up. The memorial service brought my dad's side of the family together for the first time in 5 years, and the last time was when I was a little kid. Everyone kept saying that even though they were his brothers and sister, it was all about the kids. All about Brogan (Me) and Bronson. They were cool. They were there for us. They ARE there for us.

And in the wake of this tragedy, an event that hit everyone really hard (including my mom's side of the family, who knew Dad from high school years too), people were overjoyed to find one piece of truly great news in the dark times. My grandma said "That just made my year. It really did." It could be summarized in one word: "Accepted". Yep, I got into the college I wanted. University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I'm really excited. I can't wait.......to get away from my little brother.

I may not be leaving you as soon as I thought. My focus is starting to be more and more on Final Fantasy XII: Solidor Children and my AMVs (defined as "Animated Music Videos", allowing both anime and games).

*ahem*. As I was saying, I'm doing this for SC as well. This time, they're a lot shorter, and there are scheduled to be around 10 of them: two for each saga. I may shorten it to 5, to be honest.

This brings me to my second announcement. I'm dividing the fanfic into five sagas. Each are around 5-8 chapters long. Saga 1 will end with Chapter 5, which will probably be submitted Friday. After each Saga is completed, the AMV Promo(s) will be posted.

This is probably the most urgent one. So far, I am wrapping up the writing Chapters 8 and 9, so once those are typed and go out, I'll probably pause production for the time being. But (like my other series) it will be completed and in order this time.

I'm going to make 1-3 more before my leave. 3 If I get incredibly lucky. See that "help me" up there? That concerns this. I need footage. Yes, I have just found maddening crap. It's awesome. It's fun. It's great music. It's downloadable Carpal Tunnel. This I have already wrapped up (along with my fingers).

GTA: VICE CITY
SSLink and GTA?! WTFH?! I don't appreciate it's violence, but it is a massive game, worth many days of gameplay. And I'm not in it for the girls either. If I had wanted that, it'd say "Hot Coffee Rules!" somewhere along with San Andreas. Anyway, the actual gameplay is fun, even though the concept isn't that great. And besides, it's not like I go around killing innocent people. Just people who happen to be wanted dead by local gangs and often the local gangs themselves. I got no problem stealing a digital car within a game though. Can you say "Rhino"?

Since my mom hates M-Rated Games, and since I recently turned 17, I still asked for her permission to buy it. She responded "You came to me and asked. You didn't need to; you're 17 now. You could've gone without my permission and not cared if I allowed it. But you DID ask me. So I will allow it." Be good to your parents, kiddies. It'll pay off and make things a lot easier.

I seem to be doing fanfics on the last game I beat. I typed up Legend of Zelda: Hero of Twilight while playing this game. And now I write this while playing .hack//G.U. Vol. 1: Rebirth. Is my fanfic idea .hack//DRAIN about to be revived? Well, here is my current obsession of a project:

FINAL FANTASY XII: SOLIDOR CHILDREN

Believe it or not, the similarity to a FFVII movie is not that shallow. Like Hero of Twilight, Solidor Children is very deep and very epic, despite the "noobish" title. And also like Hero of Twilight, one huge concept is based off of something completely different than Zelda/FF. In HT, it was Sandlot. This time, it's Star Ocean: Till the End of Time (a.k.a. Star Ocean 3).

You...could say Solidor Children contains spoilers...and you could say it doesn't. It is FFXII almost down to the wire.....but with another main character or five added. It starts when Vaan's Party (that's what I'll call the original 6 main characters for now) enters the Tomb of Raithwall, and ends where the game itself ends. It puts many events from the game into text, and is the game almost from beginning to end. Thus, that is why it is has spoilers, the most down-to-every-single-action-and-word being in Chapter 3.

In fact, I am currently thinking about creating MUTLIPLE ENDINGS to the fanfic. I only do this because my ideas for each ending are so good, to me anyway.

As for the new characters, I am only revealing very minimal. The main overall character's name is Crose, one of my original characters. He basically has darker emotions and is more "emo" than Broken. For some reason I've been using him an awful lot lately I am also using 3 other original characters (OCs) and making two original races of the FFXII world: The Vieraf and Gariv. More on that later (it's a spoiler). In addition, I am using two Star Ocean 3 characters in it. One will be featured as a minor character and the other is incredibly major.

On top of that, the fanfic includes 20 Espers!!! That means that 7 of them are new. I cannot reveal their first names, and can only say the ending titles of 3 of them (examples: the Gigas, the Corrupt, the Wroth): The Rise and Fall, The Eclipse, and the Undead Legend.

If my problem with .avi files (see bottom) is fixed, then you may see Hero of Twilight and Solidor Children MV previews soon.

Omg, did SSL just say penis?!?! Well, if there was an accent on the "n", it would mean "Happy Birthday!", but I don't know how to do that in typing.

Yes, it is March 2nd and I am 17 now. And I only have a Driver's Learning Permit.

Wellllll, there will be a little hangout with two of my friends, Neomordiki and his little brother. We'll laugh, we'll watch AMVs (.....check this out: [link]). BTW, I have a different definition of AMV: Animated Music Video. That means its anime, video games, and cartoons all rolled into one category.

But that reminds me of a very serious problem: My AMVs and .avi files.

I'll be simple: .avi files work in Windows Media Player (WMP). I import them to Windows Movie Maker (WMM). They play there. I put them on the timeline for my amv. They play fine. I click "save movie" and eagerly await my little creation to be completed. When it's done, I play the movie. The .avi clips do not play. Instead, there is just blank blackness. Here is what it looks like: [link] Note the blackness. Wmv, mpg, mpeg, etc files play fine. AVI clips do not.

I have a DiVX codec and 9.3 GB free space. FOR GOD'S SAKE, HEEEELLLLP MEEEEE!!!! (And if you suggest Microsoft support, you'll die. They say they no longer have support for my computer)

Yeah, my computer's new power supply came in as I was watching Dead Man's Chest.

Why my comp is a slow-processing piece of crap I devote 80% of my free time to

A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, there was a boy on Tatooine....er, actually Phoenix, Arizona, where I was born. My dad worked with educators and stuff like that. The story goes as such: An immigrant teenage boy was working in construction or farming or some sort of job that involved heavy and potentially lethal equipment. He got his arm chopped off by the machine he was operating on. But the people at my dad's workplace (particularly him) wanted to give this poor kid a computer to type on and jumpstart his education. Since he couldn't.....write with one hand, they decided it was okay to give him a two-handed computer that didn't operate in Spanish (don't ask. I'm telling what happened, not why). My dad got these guys to get old, used, ancient computer materials and built a computer from many parts of seperate old ones. He also got a cheap, but brand new monitor called a "Komodo". Sounds fun, especially for a dragon loving geek (now who could THAT be? )

One problem. When my dad got back to work with this recycled computer, the Mexican boy and his family had already moved away back home. In addition, they were also going to give the kid's father a brand new, unrecycled computer as well. So my dad stands there in the wake of all this with a makeshift recycled computer and a brand new awesome one. So he brought them home. And as time went on there was a divorce. Now looking at my deviant journal history, guess which of the two computers my mom, brother, and I got? The one with recycled parts of course. Nowadays my dad is just greedy and has not one, but 3 frickin awesome computers at home, one at work, and a laptop. My family has the recycled one (the comp I've had for eternity), my mom's work computer (trust me, church secretary computers are REALLY cheap), and a broken laptop given to me by my dad that I'm not sure has the capacity to turn on.

But in the past year or so these ancient parts that I'm not even sure are recent enough to be legal (like the very first car in history compared to a recent one with airbags, seatbelts, and everything a car is required to have) have begun to fail. This explains my constant computer problems. Just before it died, things were looking up. I had removed computer space to make things run smoother, my mom had gotten Quicken, a tax-management program from me for xmas and my brother and I had mp3s that were filled and charged via computer. Just as we got back from a trip to my dad's, my brother put in his brand new ACDC cd and tried to put it on his mp3. Then the computer froze. Mouse wouldn't move. Screen wouldn't change. So he turned off the power button, ready to restart. Problem? I never restarted. The power supply was shot, we found out. At our highest point of comp prosperity, we had lost it. Any and all home computer operation.

Things only got worse. The ancient power supply is no longer sold at stores. I feared the worst: the memory and everything I had ever used and not backed-up online was in danger of obliteration. My newest and best AMV, a Boulevard of Broken Dreams AMV, had a few problems I needed to sort out. God, it's a good AMV. But even that was in danger of destruction.

And then came hope: Somebody on eBay was collecting these caveman power supplies and selling them. It just arrived in the mail today. Even though I am a software expert, I try everything I can to avoid hardware. But I did it. Our comp is back. I installed the power supply.

Now what?
The downside is my brother wants a turn as well. He NEVER uses the computer for anything but mp3 stuff. We take hour increment turns. I won rock-paper-scissors, but now I only have around 27 minutes left.

However, I need to prioritize. No matter how much stuff I want to do, it's meaningless if the comp is too slow to do it. That's why I need to devise a way to eliminate memory space. I'm still baking this plan, but the crucial worry is how I'm going to store Windows Movie Maker files. I'll figure out something. But what I will do? Until then, I have an entertaining little insight into something that happened today in Final Fantasy XII:

Current Status: Levels ranging from 42-43. All Quickenings. Running out of useful things to mark off on the License Board. Vaan has the Zodiac Spear, though everyone else has the considerably-weaker-but-still-powerful "Balfonheim" weapons, a.k.a. weapons buyable at this point in the plot. One of my favorites is Basch's greatsword Defender. I think it's the same one Vossler had. I also have the Espers Belias, Mateus, Adremmelech, Zalera, and just got Cuchulahain (99% sure that's spelled wrong) today. This is just after beating Hydro at Pharos. That means Reddas is in our party as a guest.

Okay, so now I am completing a few hunts. I now face Roblon, one I've been holding off until my level is mega-high. It's level is 43. Right around mine, right? And I've been known to topple bosses at least 7 levels higher than me. Well, I only skimmed the guidebook and waited to read on exactly how to beat him the moment I got there. By "there", I mean the notoriously high-leveled Necrohol of Nabudis and Nabreas Deadlands (Roblon is located in the latter).

When I got there, I realized my mistake. There are an infinite number of Dead Bones in the area. They will keep respawning until you get the heck out of there. If memory serves me right, Roblon had around 177,000 HP, or so the guide says. Well my party got into a real challenge here. Infinite skeleton-zombie things called Dead Bones and one frickin huge and high-HP golem Mark named Roblon. Took me ages to kill them all, just to even be able to focus on "Robbie". At the fight's beginning I shot out a Quickening and made my most common Concurrence "Ark Blast". Let me show you a sample of what I believe his HP looked like. ( "-" means HP left "/" marks HP taken)

For those who don't understand it, that translates to "Oh crap, this could get ugly." And sure enough, it did. All those stupid Dead Bones swarmed around me and I had tried nearly everything. They're undead, so I tried Raise. Immune. Curaja? They equipped themselves with reflect. Warp? Immune. On top of that, they cast magicks (that is not a typo, noobs). So I tried casting Reflect on my team. God, if anything could've made it worse, that was it. I switched to my other 3 party members and Quickeninged Roblon, trying to get a Concurrence big enough to vanquish about 7 of the Dead Bones. One problem, I didn't get a Concurrence. So now I was surrounded and had everyone with 0 MP.

And in the moment of my darkest hour, I was able to do the impossible: I made a Reddas joke.

"I'm tired of these mutha f-ing zombies in this mutha f-ing Necrohol!"

Maybe I'm high, but I found it funny nontheless. Needless to say, I survived without using any valuable items (like Ether and Remedy). I ordered Vaan and Basch to do nothing but stab everyone with the Zodiac Spear and the Defender, leaving the healing to everyone else. We got 'em. We got 'em good.

But that was on my first try. I didn't die against "Robbie" and the "Mutha f-ing Dead Bones". What I did die against was Cuchulahain or whatever the fattie's name is. He has a constant Sap effect on the area. That means everyone's HP is falling like the Nalbina Paling. In addition, he has a few Flan-type creatures surrounding him. And of course the obese Esper acts just plain bastardly and cannot resist Disabling, Poisoning, Immobilizing, and even double-Sapping the entire party. For those who don't know, the deadliest status effect in all of gaming is FFXII's Disable. Disable means you can't attack, use magicks, tecknicks, mist charges of any sort, or even frickin items. If you get hit with Disable and don't have a teamate to remove it, you are absolutely, undeniably, unavoidably, inevitably pwned. I beat him on my second try, and by a narrow margin at that.

All of this playing has inspired me to do a fanfic. A rewriting of FFXII adding one extra main character, my OC Crose. The fanfic is titled (Oh forgive me, Jenova)

And yes, it does have a hidden definition, like Hero of Twilight. Speaking of which, I better get to typing Hero of Twilight: Chapter 6 right now. If I'm lucky, you guys will see the pivotal Chapter 7 by Valentines Day. (Another year alone...)

My Valentine this year? Final Fantasy XII. No FF has ever loved as good as this one has.

Now that I think of it, there is absolutely ZERO love in FFXII. I'm totally serious! I'm not complaining, but I'm not praising this either. I'm just saying they're breaking tradition here. 1. Legend of Zelda: Hero of Twilight. I've got some spare time right now so I'm going to try and type up Chapters 4 and 5 right now. That's why I'm making this quick. But I must inform you that I am going to make a Promo AMV for it. By "AMV", I always mean "Animated Music Video", not "Anime". That way, it includes video games too.

2. Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. Bought it! Watched it! Awesome! Reccomendable! I'll talk more later.

3. Final Fantasy XII. Yes, I've been playing that for quite a while now. Unfortunately, I messed up on a few things. Advice: Never sell Great Serpentskin, the loot you get from a hunt in the Lhusu Mines. It's part of a sidequest. So I made a new game. Currently, my characters are all at levels 27 and 28 and all of them have all 3 Quickenings (which actually are the most time-consuming attacks in the game). The plot is just after defeating Judge Bergan, and telling us to take the huge and long trip to Archades (I restarted the game just after beating Dr. Cid). Now, in my previous file I had 3 Espers: Belias, Mateus, and Addremelech (the weakest hidden Esper). Also in my old file, I completed the hunt Paramina Run, involving a 10-foot, white, demonic Chocobo of nearly infinite difficulty called the Trickster. The guide says he's level 44 or around there and I beat him at.....I can't remember. It's like 25 or something and was very hard. Just. Barely. Beat him. I haven't gotten there on my new file.

However, just last night I fought several battles of similar situations: Totally out of my league. First, I killed the Gil Snapper in the Paradise Risen hunt. Very challenging, very difficult. Ice resistant armor and shields help a ton. So does every Quickening. Then I got Mateus (which was a lot easier) and whooped Judge Bergan by only using the Quickening chain of my starting party. Then I decided to go hunt the Bloodwing or whatever it's called. Barheim Passage and its secret area have been open to me since the average party member was Level 17. Now they are 27 level on average and the monsters there are still too strong: Levels 37-41. Now on my first visit (around level 17) I used Flee the whole time and mapped out the entire area. I found 2 Cleric's Robes, armor that is so infinitely far more powerful than any equipment so far. Heck, even when the plot shifts to Balfonheim Port, it's hard to find better armor. And at only level 17, that armor reduces damage from average monsters to 0. Anyway, I went to the area just before Zalera, saved, and went back to destroy the Bloodwing. Its HP and Defense were very high and on top of that, there were other monsters around too. I barely got him, running back to the save point with only Balthier alive. Then I pushed my luck and faced Zalera, the Death Seraph. A hidden Esper. At this point in the game, I had only Belias and Mateus. Logically speaking, I should have gone for Addremelech next, but I figured since I was there.....and I beat Zalera and acquired him/her/them. Just. Barely. Got 'em. Freak of nature. No wonder you can steal the "Gemini Gem" or whatever from it. Then I noticed the path behind it led to another area. Totally mystified, I ventured a return trip to Garamsthye Waterway or whatever. I got totally lost and it took me an hour to get out. What a coincidence. I found a second extremely powerful mark: the White Mousse from Lost in the Pudding hunt. For the third time, I barely beat this one too. Beserk it and use Balance. That's what won it aside from Quickenings. So I barely made it out (Cuchculahan? Nooo, I had pushed my luck far enough already.)

I've wasted enough time on this as it is.

3. 13 Plagues I've made a new original series! Actually, it's a new series with the name of an old original series that I dropped. Again, details later.

4. Computer still down. Though we're trying to get in a new power box or something. I'm more of a software expert than hardware...

Okay, I have still not found my notebook and I will not post that again until I have.

My computer is still down. Again. I'm typing from my mom's at work/church. Again.

Anyone wanna guess my mood? A very nasty combo between tired and angry. Of course, this has nothing to do with any of you, in the sense that I am not in the slightest bit angry at anything you have done. You guys are great.

It's real life this time. All I wanna do is take a nice long break with a functioning computer. I wannna be left alone (in real life only).

School's decently improved though. 3 Study halls per day until this Monday. Yep, until my work study is set up (points again to Monday) I have 3 Study Halls per 7-period day.

But you know what work study is? It's where you work in the place of two classes (Chemistry and Cisco Networking). So...guess where I work at. Starting Monday, I will work at GAMESTOP in the middle of school!!!! Need I say more?

Not about work. I borrowed the first season of Samurai Jack from Neomordiki. Oh yeah. Suck it. Disregard that. Personally, I love that one episode with the tower and the 3 archers. They're clearly...unparalled archers. Just too cool to describe in my limited amount of time.

Also, since I have not had a working computer for extended lengths of time, my friendlist and general devart relations is...on hold.

One last thing, perhaps the most important.

Hero of Twilight is one of my best works to date. And it's finished too (writing-wise, not typing). It is too precious to ignore or skip. I REFUSE to delay a moment longer after the permit. I have made both you (the devwatchers) and me (the author) wait waaaaaay too long for it. It pains me greatly to delay it. A pain only (currently) surpassed by the loss of my other notebook. I swear I'll get it to you a.s.a.p. Like the game it takes after, it's too good to wait this long.

It's coming. I will not do anything before it.

I've been wanting to tell you guys for so long. But I thought "Don't worry, it'll be fine, the problem will be fixed and they won't be any the wiser." Well it's been almost exactly a month now and I'm still haunted by it. Quite possibly my worst and greatest fear has come true:

I. Lost. My. Notebook.

Yeah, that notebook. The one with all my stories inside. I've been in denial, thinking "It's not lost. You just don't know where it is right now. You'll find it in no time." Guess what? No time came and went and I still can't find it. Now don't panick, Zelda fans! LoZ: Hero of Twilight was on another, newer notebook. But here is what is/was on there:

All episodes of Crossover Hearts (the heaviest blow among these)
All episodes of Pokemon Rebirth (fortunately, I've already typed up alll I got. No loss here.)
The only episode of Tales of Symphonia: Curse of the Cruxis Crystal
All work on Star Wars Episode 0: A New Sith and Battlefront II: Rise of a Legendary
All work on .hack//DRAIN (not a huge loss on that. I only had one page written)
All work on Final Fantasy-Fullmetal Alchemist fanfic (of which I have already typed all of it. No loss here.)
All work on 13 Plagues (newer original series)
All AMV-VGMV ideas (nearly 50)

Just too much was lost. Guess what wasn't lost that hasn't been typed? All work on Crossover and Glitch and LoZ: Hero of Twilight.

But there is hope. I lost it on a trip...to my dad's. I packed it, then when I arrived at Dad's it wasn't my bags. That means that it's in one of 4 places: My house, Dad's house, Mom's car, or Dad's car. It is undeniably in one of those places. It will turn up.

The Bad News that isn't anywhere near as bad as the other one

When I got back from the trip last weekend, I got a bad surprise: The computer doesn't work. Just flat-out will not even friggin TURN ON!!! My Mp3 can't be charged at home (and neither can my brother's). My mom can't pay bills using the X-mas present I gave her (Quicken). I can't make AMVs-VGMVs. I can't surf the net. I can't type up the other Zelda fanfic chapters. Nothing. I am typing this quickly from my mom's work computer at church (it IS Wednesday night after all).

Yeah, this explains a lot. But more typing up Zelda chapters is the first thing I'm gonna do when it's fixed.

The only bright side of all this is I'm playing a TON of Final Fantasy XII. It's LOOOOOONG. And awesome. 66 hours (my Twilight Princess end time) and I'm about 3/4 of the way through the plot and have barely even gotten started on all the hunts and side-quests. 2 Espers and 1 hidden Esper. All Quickenings. The plot is just before entering Draklor Laboratory.

Awesome game. Time for church! I gotta go! See you seen! (very hopefully soon)

Well, I was checking my astronomical amount of messages and just decided "Screw it, I'm not reading 80 journals." If I missed something, that's why. I'm still going to view all of your deviations, though. 90 left. Progress.

Resolutions:
1) Pull my grades up to A's and B's
2) Balance time between deviantart, youtube, and AXA forums
3) Get my Golden Gauntlets* on a Wii. I have the money, I just need to find one.
4) Make higher-quality stories
5) Make higher-quality AMVs/VGMVS with inferior technology
6) Acquire World of Warcraft and consequently lose my entire social life and all of its forms.

In this journal, I have a review. *pauses while audience claps* But before that, I will tell you what else I got for Xmas.

MY HOLLY JOLLY XMAS (presents)

- My first mp3 player, a Zen V from Creative. Now I can take my dozens of Gerudo Valley and Stone Tower remixes wherever I go!
- 2 Linkin Park CDs, Meteora and Hybrid Theory
- An Eiffel 65 cd, Europop. I lost my old one in a rental car. So I really like this replacement.
- Bio-Broly dvd (Tree of Might was better)
- A nice stand for reading stuff by the computer
- Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and Tree of Might (both of which I believe I mentioned before)
- Fullmetal Alchemist Manga 8 and 9 (Which means I now have 1-6 and 8-9! )
- Other stuff!
- MONEH, MONEH, MONEH! Combined with my last paycheck from the congressional election days ($130) my Christmas gift money is now....*drumroll*... $289!!! Guess what that means?
WII WILL, WII WILL, ROCK YOU!!

As soon as I find one. I checked 6 stores tonight! (Best Buy, Gamestop, EB Games, Target, and 2 Walmarts). Believe it or not, One of the Walmarts had 3 PS3s, and Target had one. None of them had a single Wii. But all of them had a lot of Xbox 360s, ranging from 3 or 5 in stock, to over 100 (the latter was at Best Buy). Interpret what you will from that. All I'm saying is that it seems 360s aren't being sold, a PS3 shows up here and there, and there are virtually no Wiis until next week.

Remember, I have both a GCN and PS2; I'm only biased against the Xbox. I concede; the PS3 is the best next-gen system. Please note the word "system". A gaming system is MEANINGLESS without good games. In my personal opinion, the only PS3 I would ever buy that's out right now is Sonic, despite a few bad ratings. The Wii has several games I am looking into; Zelda Twilight Princess is looking beyond awesome on both systems (that should not be new information), word is that Red Steel isn't what people expected, Call of Duty 3 is awesome for PS3 but for the Wii horrible, Mobile Suit Gundam: Crossfire for the PS3 has been voted (by Gamepro Editors) the Worst Game of 2006 (next to 50 Cent: Bulletproof), and (listen to this) the common opinion and word is that 2nd best Wii game out (next to TP of course) is Dragonball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 (it's the one with Trunks holding a sword on the cover).

Personally, when I get the Wii (it's inevitable, you know), that DBZ game will (hopefully) be the first thing I buy afterwards. And here's why: I love DBZ. It's half my username. Another factor is that this is the most promising looking DBZ game since Budokai 3 (which I have, BTW. Best DBZ game I've played so far.)

Christmas Time is Here (Early)
On Sunday, I am going to my dad's for XMAS. Meaning, that at my mom's house, we have xmas early. Tomorrow, in fact! Every year, we open one present of xmas eve. Only one for me and one for my brother, then the rest of the presents on xmas day. The present I gave my brother, he opened tonight: F-Zero GX. He got me Harry Potter Goblet of Fire and *drumroll* Dragonball Z Tree of Might!! The old one on dvd! See more details below. Secondly, I would like to inform you of exactly what I'm doing in the fanfiction story business recently. Due to XMAS presents, I will not be online for ANYTHING until I play so hard that I just collapse and turn comatose, and then Aura saves me. XD But here's what I'm going to do: Exactly what I feel like. Here's what I mean: If I'm currently in a Legend of Zelda "mood", then I will work on Zelda fanfics and type them up. If I'm in a .hack//G.U. mood, then .hack fanfics will come up. And Pokemon and Tales of Symphonia and Kingdom Hearts. If I force myself to do something I don't feel like doing, it will end up like a chemistry test: Complete crap I just made up that makes no sense at all.

Kingdom Hearts - Crossover
Is it true?! Finally happening?! Yes! After XMAS! And to prove it, I have actually made an AMV of it. In the beginning, I decided it to simply feature characters very similar to KH characters (ex: Shadow the Hedgehog plays as Riku.) But then more and more ideas came. And so I decided to crush down the plot and revamp it from nearly scratch. At first it seems like a parody of KH with a few twists, but at MAJOR points where it would normally be a KH Plot moment it does things that you would NEVER expect. And every world has a valuable place in the overall plot.

Final Fantasy XII
I got it 3 days after it was released. Am I freaking lucky or what?! And it is glorious. But I must say, ESRB is full of leeches. From what I've seen so far (Vaan's at level 11) "Partial Nudity" only references the Viera, like Balthier's partner Fran. And it's really not that big a deal, to me anyway. WHAT ABOUT *insert fanfic series*?
I have recently lost my writing creativeness. I just...don't feel like writing for a while. I mean, I'm just never in the mood these days.

So I won't be writing for a while. You don't like it? Well, that's....that's just too bad. Let me put it to you this way: If a Mage has 0MP, he cannot cast any spell no matter how hard he tries. Black Magic, White, Blue, Red, Green...No Magic is availible. Now change the Mage to a writer and 0MP to 0WP. I am that writer. Zero Writing Points. Anything I force myself into writing right now will turn into crap. That is why I refuse to write any new material....for now. The primary reason anyway.

However, I can still type things that have already been completed. I simply need to parrot what I wrote down when I could write. And, before I leave, that is what I will do. So, for the next few days, this is what will pop up on devwatch and what won't.

I plan on continuing every writing project to its end once I have my writing mood back. This could take a long time. A really long time.

Crossover
I've been thinking hard on this. It's my favorite fanfic series, and my major work. But I often wondered "What will I do when Zelda: Twilight Princess and dothack//G.U. come out? Surely they will alter my story in major ways, as Zelda and dothack are two of several prominent topics in the series." And you know what? I originally that I would not wait for them to come out. And it is November, near their release. And I've only finalized Episode 0. So now I have decided to wait to work on this series until I have completely witnessed the full plots of Twilight Princess and G.U. My side account, ~CrossoverProductions, will be absolutely inactive until then.

The graphics are just...Holy (FF pun intended). Not just the CGI (I believe the "CG" must stand for "Cool Graphics"), but the normal, walk-around, battle, city and town graphics too. The battle system is confusing at first, but I got the hang of it in time. Oh, and they call it "real-time". I thought they meant something like in Kingdom Hearts or Crystal Chronicles. It most certainly is not that. What happens is this: Enemies are not random encounters. They appear on the map in Tales of Symphonia style (except it really is just one monster). This I like a lot. When you are in range of a monster, press X. This opens the list of attacks or actions you can take, just like it is in almost every FF game. Select a move then the target. Then you must wait for the attack to ocurr, like in FF7, except you wait for the attack instead iof the action list. While waiting, you can move around your enemy or use "Flee" with R2. When the wait is over, the attack executes. The same process goes for the enemy too. Oh, and blocking. That occurs randomly in battle, so don't bother trying to find a control. That is the battle system in a nutshell. But you can also have your partners use Gambits. They tell the teamate what to do in certain situations. For example, when enemies are around, you can tell them to attack the nearest foe. Or foes targeting you. Or the foe with the most health. You can also Steal instead of attack, or cast a spell on them. In addition, you set Gambits to tell your computer player to heal you with either Magicks like Cure or items like Potions or Tecknicks like First Aid. You can set that to happens in certain conditions, like when your HP is below 70%. Or 50%. Or 30%. Many, many features like these. And the License Board. It was extremely confusing at first but (like the battle system) I got used to it. Basically, it's the Sphere Grid from FF10. What the real problem is is deciding which License to activate. I won't buy a weapon or armor until I know I can equip it. Yet, I really don't know if I can activate that License at that point. See what I mean?

We've all had trouble with our animals, but I don't think anyone can top this one:

Calling in sick to work makes me uncomfortable. No matter how legitimate my excuse, I always get the feeling that my boss thinks I'm lying.

On one recent occasion, I had a valid reason but lied anyway, because the truth was just too darned humiliating. I simply mentioned that I
had sustained a head injury, and I hoped I would feel up to coming in the next day. By then, I reasoned, I could think up a doozy to explain
the bandage on the top of my head. The accident occurred mainly because I had given in to my wife's wishes to adopt a cute little kitty.
Initially, the new acquisition was no problem

Then one morning, I was taking my shower after breakfast when I heard my wife call out to me from the kitchen.

"Honey! The garbage disposal is dead again. Please come reset it."

"You know where the button is," I protested through the shower pitter-patter and steam. "Reset it yourself!"

"But I'm scared!" she persisted. "What if it starts going and sucks me in?" There was a meaningful pause and then, "C'mon, it'll only take you a
second."

So out I came, dripping wet and butt naked, hoping that my silent outraged nudity would make a statement about how I perceived her behavior as extremely cowardly.

Sighing loudly, I squatted down and stuck my head under the sink to find the button. It is the last action I remember performing.

It struck without warning, and without any respect to my circumstances. No, it wasn't the hexed disposal, drawing me into its gnashing metal
teeth. It was our new kitty, who discovered the fascinating dangling objects she spied hanging between my legs. She had been poised around
the corner and stalked me as I reached under the sink. And, at the precise moment when I was most vulnerable, she leapt at the toys I
unwittingly offered and snagged them with her needle-like claws. I lost all rational thought to control orderly bodily movements, blindly rising
at a violent rate of speed, with the full weight of a kitten hanging from my masculine region.

Wild animals are sometimes faced with a "fight or flight" syndrome. Men, in this predicament, choose only the "flight" option. I know this from experience. I was fleeing straight up into the air when the sink and cabinet bluntly and forcefully impeded my ascent.

The impact knocked me out cold.

When I awoke, my wife and the paramedics stood over me. Now there are not many things in this life worse than finding oneself lying on the
kitchen floor butt naked in front of a group of "been-there, done-that" paramedics. Even worse, having been fully briefed by my wife, the paramedics were all snorting loudly as they tried to conduct their work, all the while trying to suppress their hysterical laughter......and not succeeding.

Somehow I lived through it all. A few days later I finally made it back in to the office, where colleagues tried to coax an explanation out of me about my head injury. I kept silent, claiming it was too painful to talk about, which it was.

"What's the matter?" They all asked, "Cat got your tongue?" If they only knew!

Hahahaha!!!! I gotcha! You thought it was a Halloween journal! I worked today when I wanted to terrify children with my real sword!!

No, no, no. This is a journal of the unknown. That's right. All the animes and video games I've heard of and I'm sure most of you haven't.

Blue Gender
In the year 2009, there was a new and strange disease that scientist's predicted could be deadly. So a few people were encapsulated and were to be awoken in a year, so give science time to develop a cure (don't ask me how that works. I don't know.) Just one year. But something went wrong. They woke up in 2031. Earth has become a hostile environment. There is no way of saving the world anymore. All we can do is try to survive. The disease is alive. And they call themselves "The Blue."

Riviera: The Promised Land
A very rarely-heard-of game for the Gameboy Advance. The plot is so-so, but everything else is incredible. Anime graphics nearly equal to Tales ofg Symphonia. It is an RPG featuring the most unique gameplay I have ever seen. Both the battles and the overworld and moving is turn-based. At the beginning of battles, you are told to choose 4 weapons from your inventory and 3 party members. You win depending on who and what you pick. Those 4 actions and your character's Overdrives are the only attacks you can do, as well as things such as defend. And the music. OHHH!! It is without a doubt the best soundtrack on a handheld game I have ever seen. Every single background/battle music is simply awesome.

Amazing Island
Welcome to the island of your dreams. No, it's not Koholint from Zelda: Link's Awakening. This Gamecube game is literally a world where you can bring your imagination to life. Have you ever wanted to build your own Original Character? Perhaps a monster? All you have to do is draw it. Just trace out the monster and it flipping comes to freaking life!!! Make a dragon. Make a Saiyan. Make a hedgehog. Make nothing more than a weapon. I've even seen people flawlessly create Transformers and South Park characters. With dozens of body frames, several special effects, coloring, and around a thousand items and accessories, anything is possible and the combinations are absolutely infinite. But what do you do with them? That's the slight downside to the game. You put your monster is what is, in a nutshell, Mario Party minigames. Racing, mild battles, and other crazy contests. While the use of the creations is very limited, the creation power is where this game is at.

Ronin Warriors/Samurai Troopers
A good combination of things that really shouldn't be together. Think Power Rangers combined with Rouroni Kenshin, Inuyasha, and Dragonball Z. 5 warriors with 5 mystical armors. Ryo of the red Wildfire. Rowen of the dark blue Strata. Sage of the green Halo. Kento of the orange Hard Rock. Cye of the light blue Torrent. Together, they fight against the ancient Dynasty, and the 4 Warlords. Anubis, warlord of Cruelty. Sekmet, warlord of Venom. Cale, warlord of Corruption. And Dais, the warlord of Illusion (my personal fav, who appears in some of my fanfics). Their lord and master is the leader of the evil Dynasty, Talpa. If you like Dragonball Z and Samurai and don't mind slightly repetitive action and low-quality quotes and plot, this is for you.

Zoids: Battle Legends
A Gamecube game based off of one of my favorite shows that is no longer on. For those who are unfamiliar with the concept of the anime Zoids, think about piloting giant robot animals. Gundam Wing plus Fruits Basket plus Pokemon, with a ton more of Gundam Wing than the other two. But fans of the TV series may not like the voice casting in the game, especially fans of Raven. The voices are horrible and repetitive. Fortunately, you can turn off the voices and keep the cool music on. As for the gameplay itself, it is HARD. No tutorial. None at all. The manual doesn't help much either. And to top it all off, you start off (regardless of what mode you're playing, story or tournament) on the highest difficulty level. It is incredibly hard to learn and play. But once you do, it is well worth it. Nearly (or over, maybe) 200 different Zoids you can pilot and hundreds of equipable weapons and enhancement boosters. Plus, you should probably think about getting your computer partner/ally/comrade something too. You get money by winning. And when your Zoid is nearly dead, you can unleash your favorite attacks. But the watchers of mine who are Kingdom Hearts fans need to listen up. Episode 1 of my new series Crossover Hearts was submitted a week ago. And I haven't received a single word of recognition. No comments. No favs. No commentless favs (which are getting really annoying now...) Not even a side mention in journals. Nothing.

And I think this is one of the best things I've ever come up with. Kingdom Hearts minus Disney and plus everything else. And there are a lot of twists in the plot there's no way you could truly predict. Especially at very important parts (most notably, the end of the KHI part). Things happen that make the hero's emotions more predictable. Sora had his island destroyed, and felt sad for about a minute, until "No sad face, okay?" And Donald and Goofy just seem to....be there. Like nothing more than funny and mildly useful weapons. No plot attached to them at all.

Well, Crossover Hearts is different. I believe it fixes some of the plot problems in Kingdom Hearts. At this moment, I may be completely insane (trust me, I can't believe I'm actually saying this), but I think this story is better than Kingdom Hearts itself. I'm looking at this, and I can't believe I actually made this. But lo and behold, my OC Broken is there, accompanied by my two favorite female video game characters. I've made something that has surpassed what I imagined it would be. That's how good it is.

The New Chosens of Hyrule: I'll explain. This is Crossover material. It was originally the preview for Episode 46: Consumed by Darkness, where the Chosen of Courage was awakened. Broken (my OC) is the Chosen of Power, and Mia (Golden Sun) is Wisdom. So I decided to make this pic in honor of the new Chosen of Courage.

The new job is great, and pays $10 per hour. (just reminding you so I can feel incredibly lucky and cool) So far, I've made a total of $80. Now what will I spend it on...?

Oh, that reminds me! Does anyone know when Zelda: Twilight Princess comes out for the Gamecube? I'm one of the biggest Zelda geeks ever and I forgot the pivotal moment in gaming history. I'm sure it costs not much more than $50 (Nintendo's not evil), but I forgot when! Can anyone tell me when it comes out for the Gamecube?!

But I know when the Wii comes out. Not TP Wii version, but the actual system. For North America, it's November 19, I believe.

Do you want to know the second reason why I'll be busy? My grandmother is coming to town, so please hold all farts and belches for the weekend. :unamused: Nah, she's great. She's always very proud of how smart I am (though I'll need to hide my grades for now ).

And in 5 minutes I'll need to go to a much-dreaded Parent-Teacher conference. It's not just because of my grades, and the fact that my dad will be there. I hate seeing Dad regardless of the occassion.

Adios. At least my Spanish grade is a B+.
