Oy, ~JennieO-of-Hyrule64 Here.
As some of you may know, Lady of link has became fairly ill and won't probably have access to the net much. I know we haven't at all yet started a tournament, but the last time we had tried to start a contest . . . . it epically failed.

So now that Halloween/Thanksgiving's is around the corner, please comment below if we should have another contest or at least try to start the tournament. Better yet if you have any personal ideas to get this club up and running again.

next up is I wanted a minimum of 32 characters for the next 'tourny' so no characters have been set just yet. So anyone who has wanted to submit another character to the listing, or change some things about theirs around, may still do so.

Sadly we are no where near the 32 mark yet. If by the end of July, we do not have the needed characters, then I will have to downsize the 'tournament' a little, and we'll let (staff and contest winners only) submit more than one character. of course, these are just what if solutions, and nothing is set just yet.

ID contest rules

All entries need to follow DA rules (obviously) and even though we'd be able to resize the picture to fit into the ID size slot, try not to make the width over 450Pixels please. If that is a problem for you, like said, we can always resize it later if we need to.

All entries need to have at the least 5 characters in it, all created by diffrent people, so no- do not make an entry with just 5 of your characters in it. please visit the members section to view submitted characters that you may add to the ID: [link] More then 5 characters are greatly welcomed though

once the 5 character minimum has been met, you can add any character you like (as long as they are on the club listing)

ANY ONE WHO IS A MEMBER CAN ENTER that's right, any person can enter, even admins, and other staff. this way, we'll get lots of entries(I hope)

only up to a max of 2 entries per person. I don't think many of you will submit more than 2. but if we come to that problem, you can replace one of your previous entries with the new one.

Prizes for winers are still undecided at this time, but there will be some. most likely a drawing from *Lady-of-Link

Yo, ~JennieO-of-Hyrule64 Here! I know the club has been slow lately without everyone's fair Lady Maggie. But as we wait for her, I'm suggesting a few ideas here:

From what she mentioned like somewhere last year, she said that we might do a team battle. And as you already saw, Lady, Johnny Black mage and I (am I missing someone?) have already made team outfits/colour for our characters.

I think we might need to make a simple team colour sheet for reference the main colours (and only) in team battle is Red, Blue, and Green. If you like, you can the yellow, light and dark colours but that is optional. That way, if the next tournament is team, we have the colour references ready to be used.

And the next Idea I have is that we make a art contest to pass the time. But if this will be too much trouble for some, I can cancel it. The Prize is still undetermine how, but I'm pretty sure it will be a prize from me, a drawing or such. SO how does it sound? After all, I would very much like to hear your opinions! Any question of any sort, please post them as a comment or PM if it's personal.

And lastly, No I sadly do not know when the first official tournament will be held, but I can assure you, fair members of the club, that Lady will post the long awaited date soon.

Had a chance to speak to Lady (not telling for fear of everyone filling her inbox) And she had suggested to me that if we did do a contest, it could be for an ID and possibly a new Avatar. After all folks You Club does need a ID! XD

I think each entry should now only follow the DA code of size for an ID but also have 5 or more characters in it (no, they can NOT all be created by the same person, they must have at least 5 characters, made by diffrent people) the image should be finished, and colored (no line art or WIP) as well.

Ok, in this whole stanza, you write a little something about your characters, and also stating their weaknesses like 'Can be tossed high in the air' Or strengths such as 'A heavy character'

personality

This section is to type up what personality your character has, useful if you somewhat ask me ^_^U

**** And now that we have the top section done, here comes the VERY difficult part, deciding moves for your character. . . But of course I'M not going to tell you what moves to give them because they are YOU'RE characters, but I will list the button moves for them:

***** And Now Finally, You add the Final Smash! I highly recommend four as the maximum of Final smashes, but in her profile, Lady added eight. . . . So I really don't think you should do that many. . . But that's just me if you want to get Carpel Tunnel syndrome. .

And the next section is the stage set for your character, also known as a Course. It's best to give us an image description of it, but I know everyone is busy, so am I (which is why I'm STILL working on a new stage for Kaisui) But if you can't, then a written description will also work for us.

And that's all, but I seen a few people so far add Taunts and Victory Poses Although optional, it's still EXTREMELY fun to imange what your character's do when they win. And not only that, if your Charcter DOES win, then we can draw them doing the Victory pose of your choice! Maximun I say should be three for each, but why am I setting the rules? You could have as many as you want. . . . as long as it ISN'T fifteen! ^_^UU

SSBOC is an idea I got after seeing all the wonderful characters that my friends have created. some were completely original, others were for fanfics, but all were great, and I got to thinking that it would be fun to see them all in a fighting gameÂ.and Smash Brothers being my favorite fighting game, it only seemed fitting that this would have the Smash Brothers tag to it!

So after gathering many characters together (with permission of my friends of course!) I put together a roster. Then from that list of characters, I chose ten to take part in picture battles, where each week I submitted a new ÂbattleÂ picture, and everyone would read the profile and moves of each character, and place their vote on who they thought would win!

The images got better as the tournament progressed until we had a winner.

The last battle ended not long ago, but already I have been asked a number of times when I would be doing the next one. It actually made me happy to see so many people interested in seeing how their character would hold up against othersÂ.but I knew that the next one would have to have more people in itÂso I decided to split it from my regular account. Reason being this way, many more people can help me out, and it will help keep things organized!

I want to gather many people to take part in SSBOC! So please, donÂt be shy and come join the fun!

Make sure to read the rules at some point though, because if anyone of the staff sees you causing problems, then you will be removed.

First thing to do is to send a note saying you want to come join.

Example:

Note: I want to join!

After, you MUST watch this account! Anyone who dose sends a note, and dose not watch will not be added to the list of members. DO NOT LEAVE A COMMENT ON THE FRONT PAGE SAYING YOU WANT TO JOIN!!! I REALLY urge you not to do this, as no one will see it and you might be missed.

Well, after you watch the account and sent the note, you will then be added to the list of members! Now that you are a member you can now submit characters to the combatants area of the members journal! How? Simple! Create your character profile! See my own for my character ÂLadyÂ for an example if you need to:

But you will have to make this profile either in a journal or an image on your own account! You will have to meet certain requirements while doing this. [link]

1: you must have (obviously) a profile about that character. where they are from, and such
2: special (or ÂbÂ button moves) a total of 4
3: you must have at least one image link in the profile, which will be also submitted into the Gallery of SSBOC (donÂt worry, you will get full credit for the image)
4: you have to display both your characters strengths and weaknesses
5: you need a character course! An image is not needed for it at this time, but one would be nice in the future.

here are the names of some helpers if you want to contact one of them!

While creating you characters profile, be sure to take some things into mind, like extras! A button moves, personality, age, even what their final smash is! Be creative and have fun! If you need help with creating a profile, then note THIS account and you will be sent the name of someone who will then contact who will help you out! However, no one knows your character better than yourself, so keep that in mind!

Here is a quick little tip! Try not to make your character into a god like fighterÂ.that ruins all the fun! And besides, seeing that other people will be deciding if your character makes it into a SSBOC tournament, they will be picking practical and fair characters who suit the Smash Brothers title.

Alright! Now that your profile is done, all you got left to do is to send a new note with a link to where the profile is!

Example:
Title: character profile
Note: here is my character (insert name), and here is he/she/itÂs profile: (include link here)

If the profile is created right on the image you want to use for your character, then please state that as well. (ex: that image is the one I want to submit into the gallery of characters!)

But if the profile is made in a journal like my characters are, then you have to include a link to what image you want for your character.

As for the characters image, it is what will be used for a reference if your character makes it to an SSBOC tournament, so make sure you like it! Well, here we go! The rules for SSBOC!

First up is community rules

As always, be respectful! Never let me see someone flaming another person for no real reason. ItÂs a good way to make you look like a jerk, as well as getting you possibly banned from DA. If you donÂt like someoneÂs character, wellÂeveryone has their own opinion. Unless you provide advice to improve a persons character, then donÂt say anything negative about it!

And if you are the target of someone flaming you before an admin has noticed, then donÂt retaliate in the same manor that person has shown you. Just contact a SSBOC admin, or even if you wanted to, contact a DA official to get them punished properly.

NEVER steal another persons idea or characters! That is just terrible! ItÂs not as hard as you think to come up with a character design or profile if you actually put your head to it. If it has been brought to the admins attention that you HAVE stole from someone then harsh punishments will be given out.

Remember, help for both profile creation and art is available for people who need it! So do not resort to stealing. Read the rules below for this help first though.

Do not get impatient with anyone in charge of adding members/characters to the list because we DO have other things to be doing. Be grateful that we are taking the time to do something like this for everyone to enjoy!

Image help is available for people who donÂt have any images of their character, yet they have a profile. Contact via note, and you will be sent the name of someone who graciously volunteered their time and skills to help people like you out! they will ONLY draw you one, simple, single character picture, with no Background (they can add one though if they want to) be happy you get that

Also, you can only ask for art help once a month, and NEVER let me see you being impatient or rude to the person who is giving you help! The artist will do the best/fastest they can with their already existing scheduleÂagainÂbe glad you are getting the help.

Profile help is also available if you need it. Same thing as the image help, note the club that you need this help, and you will be sent the name of someone who is so kind as to help you! After that, contact them with a link to what you have so far, and they will do their best to help you!

You can ask for help with profiles many times if you need itÂno limit on this one.

Anyone who dose not follow those rules will be kicked out of SSBOC, no questions asked.
