Wow, it's been such a long time since I posted a journal entry! I've been thinking about something, and I wanted to get some feedback.

So to make some extra money, I've been regularly perusing Etsy's Alchemy section. I recently took on a request for a Yugioh Millenium Ring. About a week later, I saw another request for one. After how painstaking the first has been, I didn't really want to take on a second at the same time, but it got me thinking about how many people need cosplay pieces. I've made several for myself, and several for friends.

Do you guys think it would be a worthwhile endeavor to list ready-to-go pieces for cosplays, or should I just keep looking for requests?

I feel compelled to write this, and I hope people will read it. I realized shortly after joining dA, when looking at others' deviations, that it's common etiquette for smaller artists, who don't get 100's of comments on their pieces, to reply to nearly every comment that gets left, even if it's just a "thanks!" to a compliment. For whatever reason, this just... isn't my style. I feel very awkward replying to all the comments with "thanks!" and "thank you" and "arigato" and "merci beaucoup" just because I feel the need to respond. If you ask a question, I'll answer it. Sometimes I'll reply to compliments but it's rare. PLEASE don't be offended by it. I am so gracious for all the wonderful compliments I receive and it is so nice to have people admire my work. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to watch me, add my pieces as favorites or to collections, or leave a comment on my pages.

I get really peeved when I read comments on a deviation where people ask the user how they did something, and the user doesn't even reply. Not even with, "sorry I don't reveal my techniques". To just totally ignore the question altogether? Downright rude, imo. It probably isn't that big of a secret. I'm sure you learned most of what you know from other people. This is polymer clay- you didn't invent lightning in a jar.

So I was sooooo happy after Jacon that at long last I could afford a digital camera and could stop borrowing them from my friend. I got a cute little Kodak Easyshare. She isn't perfect. She doesn't like the color purple, apparently. But for the most part she's been good to me. Until this weekend, when she decided that she didn't like my rechargeable batteries. I heard she ate through batteries pretty quickly, but since I have rechargeable batteries I though "pfft, big deal". But after 3 days of charging, my camera STILL won't turn on. The light blinks, then turns red. It sucks. A lot. I have so much new stuff to list on Etsy and now I can't =/ I'm going to buy some new batteries, hopefully that will take care of the problem. *sigh* So for a while, I guess I'm just going to list some older pieces that have already sold.
