Ok, ok, not reallly.

Allow me to explain.

I have this subject called Musical Aesthetic Currents. We have a semester project that's gonna be worth a big chunk of our grade.

The gist of it is to do critiques about music's role in the things we do: comment concerts, a new CD we bought (moar like bitorrent pirated, amirite?), some show we went to, how music was used in this movie we saw.

Because I don't want to restrict this to my one dimensional view I'd like to ask you what are your favourite singer/bands/movies/some other things where I could comment on the music of it.
It can be in any language as long as I'm able to get some translated lyrics somewhere.
Any genre is fine too, save for extreme metal or something super noisy like that? Dx Just.... not very noisy, please.

So would you please help me?

Fancy name for not so fancy thing. I just thought it sounded cool.

It's features with a twist.

No set number of spots, I'll feature anyone who leaves a comment.

What you gotta do is:
You can nominate anyone: yourself, a friend, someone you really like, etc.
It can be any kind of work: drawings, written material, etc.
Pick a couple of artworks you like, include them in the comment.
Also, it'd be good (not mandatory) if you could write about what you draw/why should people visit the person you nominated's gallery. If people know a little more about the artist they might check more than the artworks featured here. It doesn't need to be a big text, a couple of summary sentences should do just fine.
You can nominate up to 3 people and no more than 5 artworks each.

One day ~~God~~ Suzuka looked down on ~~Earth~~ DeviantArt and thought "where are the funnies? I could use some funnies." And thus, this contest was created.

The theme is "What is your character's biggest secret?"

As it says, you're supposed to draw the secret of a chosen character.

It can be anything: a secret crush, a fetish no one knows about, a strange job or hobby... you name it!

Maybe they hide plushies under their beds? Or maybe they wear something unconventional at home... the possibilities are immense.

So here's the rundown:
Pick any character you like from any fandom of the anime/manga/game kind.
Draw a funny secret about them.
Submit your drawing! :>
You can draw more people in the scene if you want, but the secret must be about and focus on only one character
Please include a character reference image because not everyone might know the character you're drawing.
You can also include step-by-step pics of how you did the drawing or sketches and stuff like that. The more you tell us about how you've done things, the more points you could get! (think about the Technique category)

Restrictions:
No OCs allowed, the character(s) must be completely canon.
No sexually explicit entries. They can have a racy secret, but the entry must be relatively work-safe.
Finished entries only. No sketches or incomplete stuff.

Deadline: 11:59PM(GMT) of December 1st

When you're done, all you gotta do is leave me a message in my profile or send me a note with your entry.

Judging:
The drawings will be judged by a panel of judges on the following categories:
Creativity - is the idea cool or clichÃ©?
Character depiction - how well is the character portrayed? Drawn differently or not, does it look like itself?
Technique - how you did the drawing and how well executed it is.
Overall impression - how good the final result is.
LOL factor - Did it make me lol? How hard? (this is a humour contest, after all)

I don't draw X-rated stuff or furries, sorry. :/ People with ears or tails are fine, though.
A character for another character. If you want me to draw two people, you gotta draw me two people too, for example.
A pairing for a pairing. Same idea as stated above. Pairings can be of any kind (OCxOC, OCxCanon, CanonxCanon, KanonxKano-wait :I )
Backgrounds are my enemy, but I'll try. ;w;

Can't draw? I can trade drawing for fics too. Idk how the character rules would go here since I think writing a character is somewhat more difficult than just drawing it. (...yanno what I mean.)

So yeah, I don't know how it went. I just used my imagination a lot, if you know what I mean. Lisbon's downtown reconstruction in 1755? Pfft, screw arts, let's take a trip to the Memory Lane, to the Middle school History classes Street.

Anyway, what's done is done. I'll see how it actually went when the grades come out. At least if I don't do good here, I can always try applying for a transfer.

With that out of the way, it's time to get things back to shape. So yeah, I'll be cleaning up and normalizing DA activity now. Right now I'll be checking messages and what not, I'll start working on pending deviations more towards the weekend, probably.

No, I'm not dead yet.

Just busybusybusy with life.

Woah, I have a life? ._. Amazing.

Well, long story short, I'm changing majors.
I came to the conclusion that I can't stand Computer Engineering any more. 90% of the classes I'm having don't interest me at all, in fact, they're kinda torturous.

Now now, I know there's no such thing as a perfect major, but one would expect to be interested in more than one class, no?

I'm going to Arts&Design, screw it. It's what I've always wanted. >>;

Problem is, since I took Sciences in highschool, I have no entrance grade for the necessary entrance subjects.
Meaning I have to take entrance exams. Which will account for the full grade since, as I said, I don't have the highschool subjects to make the average.
And I only get 1 shot because I already missed the 1st phase exam registration time.
Meaning I can't come here very often. I get easily distracted with computer stuffs, so I really need to avoid touching the internets.
And I need to have a good grade. At least 15 or something like that.
So yeah, glued to my studybooks until July 16th. After that, only God knows.

Yeah, I could apply for a transfer in October or so, but I like playing with all the cards I have. I don't want to waste an year just because my transfer grade wasn't enough or something.

There's also some home stuff that needs resolving.

So yeah, if I don't come around often, you know why.

I've been doodling some stuff on my free time, though, and I'll upload that.

My friend ~DarkNicto has shown me a gallery of an artist that, while he has very good art, doesn't get much attention.
This artist is .
He has a nice style, great detail. Personally, I loved his Zodiac collection a lot ([link]).
I can't really describe it very well, but I like it a lot, so I think people should definitely visit his gallery and leave a word of appreciation if they like it.

If you're not here even if you applied it's because you didn't sent me any wish or you didn't do it in time.

If it isn't either case, I may have not noticed your note. It happens, I'm only human. But I doubt that was the case.

Anyway, thanks to everyone who entered!

These are the guidelines:
- Today I'll be sending you your secret santa wish.
- If you need help with your wish, for example, more info, DON'T contact the person who asked for it directly, contact ME. That would blow the surprise.
- Please don't post the drawing on DA until the present opening day. When you're done just note me to let me know you're done.
- Present opening day is on 31st December. After that day you can start posting your drawings.
- It would be best if everyone was ready by then, but I'm aware that many people go spend Christmas and New Year with their relatives. If you can't make it in time please try to do it until the end of January, at most.

Today some friends and I were talking about types of food restaurants we had in our countries.
I mentioned that we didn't have any Indian restaurants where I lived.

SEEMS LIKE I LIED.

My nephews invited me for an afternoon snack. They told me an Indian restaurant has recently opened down-town.

We went there to have a few snacks.

I found out another type of tea I can actually drink: Indian tea... because it's basically like milky coffee that tastes slightly like tea.

I say this because I usually get sick when I drink tea. So far the only tea I was able to drink without falling down with fever was green tea because it's tasteless, in my opinion.

WHAT IS A SECRET SANTA?

With real presents it would be: everyone puts a present in a bag. Then people take one present randomly.

If we're doing this with drawings... you make a wish, then we mix everything and give a random wish to everybody. Then you make a drawing of the wish you got.
Someone else will be drawing your wish too, of course.

HOW TO ENTER

Note me until December 10th 2008 with your Chrismas wish.
About your wish:
> It must be a drawing.
> You can ask up to 3 wishes, so anyone who gets it can pick.
> At least one of the wishes must contain only one single character.
> Also, don't make very complicated wishes. People have different levels of skill. Try asking for something that everyone can draw.
> The character(s) can be of any kind: original or non-original.

Well, yeah, I'm the one drawing them, so expect them to be sucky. ._. Specially because I can't draw Cloths. I just thought it would be nice, anyway.

- You must send a note with a screencapture of the kiriban.

Art block. D: I wanna draw but I don't feel like drawing and I don't have that many ideas too.

I don't feel like reading or watching anything too, save for Water Margin.

Water Margin was a little boring in the first chapters, but things get interesting after we start with Wu Song's story.

Romance of the Three Kingdoms movie. It's cool.

If you haven't seen the latest Batman movie, go see it. Srsly. It's made of cool and win.
If you're a guy, it should be your DUTY to see it because it has the hottest nurse EVER. Seriously, no joke, sexy sexy legs.

I'm not a fan of the pairing AT ALL, but I believe that yaoi fans are capable of slashing EVERYTHING. Like a Rule 34 corollary or something. And the Joker-Batman rivalry has been going on for years, so this probably exists already.

Couples Contest!

So yeah, to celebrate my birthday I'ma do this contest.

The prize?

1 drawing from me
A 1 month sub.
(and if I get way more people I might end up deciding for a 3 month, but that would depend of my finances at the time and it would have to be a really big amount of people)

Now now, I bet you're asking (what do you mean "no"? You're asking this and that's final!) "~~Oh great goddess Suzuka,~~ How do I enter?"

Well, honeys, you do it like this:

Rules & Guidelines

1. This contest is only for already existing characters. This means that original characters aren't allowed in the couples.

2. You pick your favourite pairing (or whatever) from your favourite book, manga, anime, movie, etc and you draw them.... with their children! (So, yeah, since they don't really exist, the children are the only OCs allowed)
Note: You need to have at least one child, after this there's no limit. Yup, draw over 9000 if you want. xD

3. The couple can be of any kind (Het/Homo), but pregnancies aren't allowed. Sorry, girls, I know it's our job, but this needs to have a level of fairness. Also, Mpreg creeps the hell outta me.
Note: When I say mpreg, I mean the representation in your drawing of a male in a pregnant state. I'm not questioning the way the children were conceived.

4. I'll be evaluating, in no specific order: art, parent-child(ren) resemblance, overall creativity of the picture.
Note: Creating little clones of your parent characters doesn't score points, so don't just do a NaruSasu full of little Narutos and Sasukes, for example. It's not cool, yo.
Note 2: You don't have to submit finished drawings. You can submit sketches or any other kind of drawings if you want. The thing is, a finished illustration has more probabilities to win because of the quality.

5. Be sure to include official screenshots or whatever of the couple in your deviantion description, because not everyone might know your fandom.

6. One person, one drawing.
If you draw more than one, you must pick only one for the contest. I can feature the others too, but as spectator entries.

October 1st.

So, yes, I'm planning on organizing a small contest after I get most of the stuff in my To-Do list done (stuff I owe to people, I mean, and that does not require some previous training, like drawing guys --- it will still take a while for me to do something suitable).

The prize? Well, all I have to offer is a drawing done by yours truly, as long as it isn't anything too out of my league (unless you want to wait YEARS, that is).

Tarot Mini-Project Storyline

Ok, so I guess I should lay out the basic storyline.

Yes, it's clichÃ©. I'm just having fun anyway.
Even so, feel free to suggest changes and to help me build a better text because I suck at writing.

Nature. A peaceful system. Man is its enemy. Animals kill because they need to eat, Man kills because they want to be better than others.

Over the years, the folly of Mankind generates unbalance in the world, something that could potentially destroy it.
You can tell something is wrong when log bloody wars and things like the Black Death happen.
For them to stop... an untold war must be fought.

For this, Nature needs human avatars to host the spirits that will lead this untold fight.
However, worthy people are hard to find.

Some 1000 years ago a human was appointed as messenger: Hino, the Immortal. Her job is to find not only strong and long-living warriors for the army, but also the avatars.
The difference between an avatar and a normal human is that they have a golden string of life: they live longer (100+ yrs) and stay young longer too. But in the end, they are mortals just like everyone else. They are just overpowered.

Hino's only power is that she can see life-strings and is an immortal in every sense of the word. Seriously, cut her head of and a new one will grow (it's not a pretty sight, though...). Aside form that, she's just a normal human.

What are strings of life: They're the connection between the living world and the underworld. Both side are tugging one of the points.
As time passes, the string weakens and the underworld pull gets stronger. Once it snaps, the person dies.
(It's basically the Moirae associated with the Asian red string of fate)

How to enter:
- Pick an Original Character (either new or recycled-adapted version of something you already had)
- Connect it to the story in any way (it can just be a simple hello-goodbye, because you'll be dropping dead soon dialog)
- Choose the tarot card that goes best with what you've done and draw it with your character in it.
- You can't use cards that are already taken, of course.

For the sake of consistency, it would be best if you made them similar to mine, but this isn't a rule, just a suggestion.

Tarot Mini-Project?

So yeah, here's what happened:

- I've wanted to draw tarot cards with my characters for a few years already now.
- Reading a fic made me finally start doing it.
- But I only have some 9 characters, LOL, and I might not even be using them all.

Sooooooo, I wondered, since I know at least one other person that would like to tarot her characters... why not make a joint project?

If you notice, my tarot has a small storyline.

Basically all you had to do was make a small text where you connected YOUR tarot card to the main storyline (it can just be a hello-goodbye, because you'll be dropping dead soon dialog), draw the card and puff, you're in.

You can't make a card that is already taken, of course.

I was aiming towards Original Characters, mainly. No, you don't need to make up a whole new OC, you can re-utilize and adapt any OC you might already have (like I did).

As for the drawings, for the sake of consistency, they could be similar to mine: sketchy and slightly faded. I can even post the Photoshop settings if you can't figure how I did it.

Soooo... anyone want in?

If there are people interested, I'll post the main storyline. (It's nothing too major, anyway, it is even a bit cliché

Today at lunch I saw a bunch of Asian women speaking to a Western nun.

And it hit me: they all looked the same to me.

It isn't the first time I get this.

I mean, I can tell a chinese woman apart from a japanese woman most of the times, but you you show me a bunch of chinese, japanese, thai, whatever women together, old or new, they all look the same to me (unless one of them is a ganguro girl or something of course >>; )

Is this true or am I just being a stupid gaijin?
