I have few things to say, but one major thing is this: Yay! It's been vacation time for a while now!

So, now that's off my chest, here is a thing I thought of just before.

Emote stuff
I've been making a few emotes in my time, not many of them have been uploaded here on dA, but I've made quite a few. I have made a few -long- animations with some, and some very short animations, but mostly they are just a base with different expressions. For my latest little set of emotes I have used a base I made based on a tutorial somewhere here on dA. Sadly, I have not yet found my "own" shading style (but I am working on it). But to me, the shading and colouring of emotes is not really interesting, in fact I find it tedious and boring coming up with my "style".

No, where emotes are interesting is when it come to expressions. And I believe that it is more in the expressions than in shading and colouring that "emotestyle" is defined. So, unique shading does not really mean that much to me, as long as I can get to make the facial expressions that I like, and be as inventive as possible when it comes to that.

Often I will be sitting idly just doodling (with my Staedtler Triplus Fineliner, which is awesome) and coming up with a new kind of smile, a fresh pair of eyes or a strange or weird-looking mouth, and think, 'Hey, this expression would look great on an emote.' Then, I will usually go on the computer - which in these most awesome vacation times is almost always on - fire up Paint Shop Pro 7 and play with making the expression into an actual emote either until I get tired of it, have to do something else, or get it to look perfect.

So, I might have made a near carbon copy of someone else's shading style, but I define what is my emotes with the faces, eyes and mouth(piece)s.

This is wrong, I know, I have basically stolen someone else's work, and build upon it to claim it as my own, and I hate when other people steal artwork only to claim it as their own. That is why I am working on my own way to shade emotes, which is also why I have not uploaded emotes for a while now.

My fellow emoteers, I salute thee. That actually got me thinking - we need a musketeer emote called The Emoteer. Also, emoteer would be a rad name for all the emoting people out there.
Actually it is one of my old ideas that I recently found a note about in my old notebook when cleaning. I never did it, but maybe someone will pick up the idea and do it.

Write stuff
I have been thinking of beginning to write again. I have been writing a lot back in the days, but lately I have not. Well, that is not entirely true. For 30 days I have - every day - jotted something down - poems mostly, and will upload them to digte.dk. They are all in Danish, however, so I doubt most dAers could read it even if they wanted to.
But, back to the matter at hand - I would like to write serious stuff. Stuff like short stories and longer stories and that kind of thing. This piece, recently given a well-deserved DD, is what got me wanting to do such a thing. It is a brilliant piece, and very short also and I would like to be able to write a thing like that. I told *wordworks that, and she pointed me toward *fotoFRIDAY, which basically is a photo-based writing prompt. A photo is posted every Friday and everybody is challenged to write a poetry or prose piece based on what the photo inspires you to. Yay! That is so awesome! I have been trying to get myself together to write something this week, but so far, I am unsuccessful. I will try again though.

Quiet and easy day, just relaxing and having fun. No huge party, but a visit from my aunt and uncle.

Next year will be the year of the part'ay! See, I don't see 18 or 19 years as a milestone, but when I have lived for two centuries, now that is special. So I'll probably have a party at that time.

This weekend however, I am going to Funen. Funen is a little island inbetween Jutland and Zealand, and I'm going there to meet up with the people I was on a course with in the fall last year. I so look forward to seeing those people again! I especially hope Michael, Marianne and Chanette will be there. Oh, and Hanne and Ida too. I can't wait!

Right, I just wanted to write something for the sake of writing. It's been some time now, and I just felt like it.

Fresh start:
Yeah, recently my computer decided that the broad selection of bookmarks which I had gotten myself during my use of Firefox were to be deleted, so it did. So there, fresh start in finding all of those webcomics and important sites again. Brilliant. I am actually quite happy with it, it was all getting rather messy. But now I can keep it under control from the beginning.

I've sucked at commenting things. Only a small bunch of my favourites here on dA received a comment before i 'ed. But I am going to remedy that. When I have the time, I'll go through my favourites and comment on every single one! There. Now, hold me to it.

Okay, spelling errors can be corrected, but as far as the point, and the meaning of the entry, it has to stay just the way I wrote it the first time around. So this might get weird.

Well, moving on now, I have a biology paper hanging over my head. It was supposed to be turned in last Monday, the 21st. Sadly, I hadn't finished it by then, and I still have. This one might actually be the first paper I do not turn in. And well, as my teacher returned the other student's papers today, as far as I understand, it won't even get graded if I turn it in now. But I kinda want to, just as to be able to say that I haven't missed a single paper. I just wish I could get myself around to actually do it. But I can't. I don't want to, I guess.
UPDATE: I actually got it made, and handed in Friday.
Ah, sod it, onwards.

I miss my girlfriend. I've been seeing her for seven months now, but lately we've had very clashing weekend plans. See, we live a fair way from each other, so we're only together on weekends, as we both have school to attend. However, lately she has had plans in one weekend and when she hasn't had plans I have, which means I haven't seen her since February 3rd! And I won't see her again before March 9th! That is a whole month and more! I'm telling you, that is a long time to go without seeing someone you love. And I do love her. A lot.

So, to those of you in long-distance relationships, I totally know what you're going through. It is not as good as it should be. I mean, the distance can be positive as well. See, when I haven't seen my girl for a week or two, I really genuinely miss her. And she misses me. So, you really have to make the time you spend together worth your while. Also, when missing someone, the love - at least that's what I feel - gets stronger. I mean, had I been living with my girlfriend, I believe we would have had a lot more fighting than we currently have (virtually none). And we might not have stuck together. I do think we would, but the chance of us breaking it up would surely have been a lot bigger.

Well, I've got to get myself a dentist appointment tomorrow, to check and see if my teeth took any damage from the fall I took on the scout tour I went on this last weekend. We walked to the camp place, 50 kilometres in a day - earning a badge and some sponsored money for charity. But that's not the point, what happened was: we were setting up a dragon. A large box-dragon, length 2 metres, width 67 cm on each side, and the string was tied to a box made of hard plastic, which I - naturally - ran with. However, it was slippery, so I tripped, fell and smashed my chin into the box, busting my chin and possibly hurting my teeth bad, I don't know yet, but they bled when I brushed them Sunday evening - that might of course also be due to me not brushing them at all for two days, but I don't really think so. I might of course just have brushed too hard, but I doubt it. Well, long story short, they still bleed when I brush them. They're the four bottom teeth to my right. Well, I'll have to have it checked, and better sooner than later. I'm going on this "survival weekend" Friday, so I have to have them checked tomorrow or early Friday. I'll get to it.
UPDATE: I had my teeth checked yesterday (Thursday), and my dentist said they had taken no extensive damage. In fact there was virtually no damage at all.

Yay, my girlfriend just wrote me on MSNM about some concert stuff in March with three Danish bands, Dúné (who I'm absolutely hooked on), BliGlad (who sucks big time) and Alphabeat (whose songs I can't get out of my head), so that should be fun.
UPDATE: Got to scrape together some money to pay for this concert... Turns out my girl won't have any to pay for her own ticket, so I'll probably be buying... Gotta look into working this out.

Well, signing off now, got to get to bed real soon or I'll be wasted tomorrow.

On another note, what happened to all the imaginative music videos? I was watching Boogie (danish equivalent of MTV (however, thankfully, it's only on for an hour on DR1)) the other day, and every single video was just a band/soloist standing around playing/singing a song for the whole three minutes. Out of 25 videos, the only two videos which wer actually good - despite the fact that I hated the music in both - were Eminiems "Smack That" (or whatever), and a danish rap group, KNA Connected. Both of these videos were little cartoons which were great. But come on, get with the imagination people! What happened to videos like this? Now that was imaginative and innovative. Have we really grown so unimaginative? Come on!?

(Sadly, some youngster still play it.) Dracco Heads - those little plastic slime blobs that you had to slam into each other and the wall to win - were a fad. The yo-yo is a returning fad. (Btw, I love yo-yos.) But yeah, these are/were/are going to be fads.

A fad is also an avatar trend on DA. And I've fallen victim to these twice. Last time, it was the "Thrusty Virus," and this time, it is the "Will Emote For..." thing. I know, this is my second journal entry about an avatar. Sad, eh?


In other news, yesterday I went to Herning to visit my friend Niels and his girlfriend Sanne, my classmate. Niels and I went to a place called "Kulturellen" where a theatre group, of which we are both passive members, these days practise a play called Rhinocéros (by Eugéne Ionesco) about a town in France where the citizens suddenly starts turning into rhinos. It's a very interesting play, which I would love to see in full length, but as I will be with my girlfriend in Holstebro when they play it, I can't. But well, I've seen a lot of the rehearsals, so I'm good.

Tomorrow I'll be going to a party in my old pre-school class (class of '88), which I think will be great fun. I'm really looking forward to seeing these people again, as it is been more than two years since I've seen them all. Sadly, though, they won't all be there, but hopefully most of them will.
