I know this is old - but please spread the world anyway.

In 2007, the so-called 'artist', Guillermo Vargas Habacuc, took a dog from the street, tied him to a rope in an art gallery, and starved him to death.

For several days, the 'artist' and the visitors to the exhibition watched, emotionless, as the shameful 'masterpiece' based on the dog's agony, eventually killed him. The walls were decorated with words made of dog food.

But this is not all... the prestigious Visual Arts Bienniale of Central America decided that the 'installation' was actually art, not only calling it "art" but AWARDING him the prestigious FIRST PRIZE. Guillermo Vargas Habacuc has been invited to repeat his cruel action for the Biennial of 2008.

Day 1: MARSEILLE - LONDON STN

after two hours in the bus, and then two of flight, we finally arrived at our destination to take another bus, two more hours

In the (very) late afternoon we reached the Hostel, situated in Kings Cross, in the center of London, deposited our bags and began scouting the area for some fish & chips! But of course, we ended in a Burger King

Day 2: Where to begin?

With an Oyster card in my hand (it really is the easiest way to travel in London) and a general direction, we went first to the British museum.
Then shopping in Oxford street (I bought gloves with embroidered cherryÂs on them

), the London Eye, The house of parliament & Lords (because it was on the way

) The London Dungeon (although the farthest we got was to the box office - it still counts! xP).

When arriving to London Bridge, strong wind came out of nowhere and chilled us so badly that we got on the first bus we bumped into without caring where it was taking us.
After a while, the scenery started to change; the so-clean-city began to disappear under a dark and not so pleasant neighborhood - it was clearly time to get back, and it took us almost two hours to find the hostel (we got farther then what we though we did lol).

For diner you'll never guess where we ateÂÂÂ at Mcdonaldzz!

Heading to a table, my friend suddenly became anxious, and run to the counter, I followed her back and realized something was wrong.. she couldnÂt find her wallet - that contained 300 euros, 70 pounds, her passport and identity card - she remember seeing a weird man that remained for only five minutes before almost running out of the place. At first she had no idea, but when she came to think of it, her bag was open in front of her, on the desk, thatÂs probably when he let his hand slip from her side, and stole the wallet.

I tried to console her as much as I could while speaking to the policeman.. he told me exactly what we have to do, to declare the loss of the wallet in the police station (the nearest was 30 minutes away!) and to go the the French embassy.
Since it was already past nine, we went straight to the hostel looking for the teacher, we didnÂt wait long since two girls pass the news to everyone and they came to us.

Day 3 - Last day to enjoy London

First thing we did is to go the police station; Accompanied by the teacher, my friend, and three other very nice people that felt bad for her too.
We took Souvenir pic in the station, and basically acted like fool to cheer her up, people were probably thinking ÂFrench!Â
Next, was the France embassy. Instead of all of us going in, we let her and the teacher goes in, while we waited.
It happen that the famous store Harrods was situated in the same street, knowing we have a lot of time in our hand, we went to look

and it is such a BIG place!

The three girls (including me) were delighted to try on a dress that we picked, while the only boy with us became bored (poor him).
Suddenly a lot of students from our group came and we all went to eat at Burger King [yepÂ again [

]
After that Â we separated, and they went to more shopping while me and another girl went back with food for my friend and the teacher.
It took them 3 hours to get all the paper done! On time. Because they just closed the place.

Relived that it was all over and she could get on the plan tomorrow, we had half of the day left.
So we went to see the Beatles store and Madame Tussauds museum, and itÂs the best IÂve seen so far (IÂve been in the one in Las Vegas).

Day 4 Â Back home

I'm so excited!

I'm taking with me the D40X (otherwise, what the point to visit London?) and I really hope it wont get stolen

I know its going to be freezing and raining, so I bought a poncho that I hope will help (at list against the rain and protect my camera too ^^)

We are going to stay in a hostel in Kings cross road, and we are free to go wonever we like, so any tips or advice will be welcome!

We are learning about him, and I'm quite enjoying it, nostalgia to the days of high school

I know I kind of abandoned DA for some time (and two weeks and a half its alot for a DA addicted like me) but would you belive me when I'm saying, that I didnt even thuched my camera for almost a week

'yep. enjoing life in college and being a student and everything.. no, not really.
I keep being busy by my France/English studies, we had a week of exams, and I did my best.. considering that I dont even write well in french, yet..

I hope to take my camera for a walk soon, he really need fresh air

What's the most important thing that you've learned through dA?
That there are very nice, supportive, even funny people out there! no kidding.
If its from the US, UK, China, Australia, Norway, Germany, France, Turkey, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Ireland, Poland, Sweden, Finland, Israel, Egypt, Nepal, Thailand, Japan, Brazil, Mexico, Puerto Rico, French Polinseia, Hawaii, Canada...and so many more great deviants from so many places that I got to know through DA.

What's the best compliment you received from another deviant?
The best compliment is when somone tell me he like my gallery. Thanks alot to everyone that has been supporting my art it means the whole world to me.

Have you met any artists which have influenced your style or helped you grow as an artist? What did they help with?
Every time that I see others art that I like it influance me in some way, so yes.. there are so many great DA's artist out there that influanced me.

If you have one piece of advice you'd like to share with others, what is it?
Stay true to yourself.

Do you have any art advice you'd like to share?
When you see somthing you would like to do - for me take a pic of some place/object/people - just do it! don't wait with youre idea, or you will never get the chance to do it.

And finally, do you have anything you love so much you feel like you need to spread the love for?
I'm a cherry lover!

but its not the seson for cherry's... so eat hot chesnot!! Its the best way to survive the cold outside (I dont know about you - but here in the south of french, it was 7 oC today, with strong winds. I love the winter

As for me..
I didnt had much time to upload new things last weak, I'm so busy with my english/french studies.
I was also focusing all my energy to find some normal friends, 'cuse it really sucks to be all by myself. At list, now I will have a car to drive to my university every day, so it will be much easier for me

First I've was told, by a foolish secretary, to be there at 11am. After wondering where my class is in that huge university, I found a map (and latter somone to ask) and waited for the bell to sound... no bell rang.
I decided to ask two students that sat in the corridor and they told me that there is no bell >_<

I entred class number 209 to find 50 pair of eyes staring at me

I wanted to run away, but stayed calm..
I entred and shut the door behind me.
Now I had to find a place to sit, but it looked like they were all already divided into groups..

Every team had their common subject... there was a group of boys that had golden chains on thier necks, and wore clothes that were too big by several sizes on them. A group of BLONDE girls who had all sorts of accessories, who looked like they were actually waiting for a photografer to show up, so they could start modeling.
There also was a group of humm.. "geeks" with thier leptops, making noise while they type fast, and in the end sat a bunch of girls who expressed themselves with body piercing.

Eventulay, I went to the end of the class, feeling the gazes on me, and asked to sit with the group of 'Expressed Girls'

One of them said ok, and I set down. It wasn't until I asked that they bothered to explain what we were suposed to do.. somthing about being a jurnalist and come up with an interesting story.

I stood up and went all the way back to the front of the class to talk to the english teacher who was ignoring me, and he told me to sit back, and he will come to me.
I simply wanted to apologize for being late, the girls told me they began at 10:30.
Well, after talking to him in perfect english (I sounded really stupid not knowing that in college there isn't suposed to be a bell ringing everytime class is over) the class was over.

My second class with the same students was 2 hours later. This time I came on time and waited with everyone outside a pink door (there are pink doors with yellow corridors and green doors with white corridors, and every class has two doors).

I didnt mean to make you bored, so if u were, sorry!

Next time I have class is on sunday.. english again. My french class will begin next week, along with Spanish or Italien (I haven't decide yet!).

I really need to find friends.. wish me luck

First of all, I got really sick (yha, again) yesterday, I have no idea how that happen every time before traveling..
I fall asleep during the four hours flight, it went by fast, beside that it was cold like the North Pole and I only had a short-sleeve shirt on my skin and I was freezing like Sid in Ice Age.

On Monday 01.10.07 I will start my studying...... and I'm a bit nervous >_<

Because my 12 years of education were in another country, although I speak the france language, I also have to learn the write and spell.
That will take a couple of month along with studying the "History of the france nation" and more things that student's learn in their 12 years of education in france that don't learn in Israel.

I slept only four hours from yesterday, and stil sick

so I think its better to try and get some rest..

I am Happy to be back on DA, will upload some new stuff soon!

Hello everyone!

I have arived in israel safley into my lovely boyfriend's embrace who awaited me with open arms in the airport.

The four hour flight went by fast, i had a nice flight buddy who was interested in my photography and I was very glad to share my photos with him and explain about each one (luckily he didn't fall asleep).

I arrived just yesterday but so far i'm having a great time!

OK, i just wanted to let you all know that i'm doing fine and have arrived in one piece.
I havn't taken my Nikon D40x (my precious) because my suitcases were too heavy, so broken heartedly i had to leave it behind (I still have my Nikon coolpix L1).

I was only away from DA for just 2 days and was so surprised to see i got so many messages, so i apollogise 'cause it will take me awhile to reply to all of you (undoubtedly i will answer each and every one of them).

I will begin with the description of how SWIFT it is, from the moment I turn on the device, I can barely even notice its on

its crazy.

In my (now old) Coolpix L1, it toke five precious seconds from the moment I turn on the camera until the moment I could eventualy take the pic...

In the D40x, I can take like three pic in a second... in my old, I could take one pic evry four secounds (and if I used the flash ten) >.<

The zoom..the lens..even the battery..its a whole diferent world!

To test my new device's ability, I went today to "The Hourse and donkey Festival" (those french sure like to celebrate).
Is there any other place then a fair to do that?
The location were in a high mountain village, it was alot of fun!

I have no idea why, but the women's of the village decide to "punish" the man's, and disguise them in an orchestra costume, and miny skirts..

Then they had to dance the "Makarena", "Numa Numa hey", other songs, and they also did a parade all over the village with ther tiny skirt.. LOL

After a LOT of advices I got from VERY nice pp, after seeking all the possible stores in my area, and considering my possibilities, I have finally got a NIKON D40x

along with 18-55 and nikor 55-200

Well, I'm new with SLR cameras, so today was my first time placing a lens and holding somthing that heavy

but now I'm ready for a brand new adventure!

Taptim IS MY REAL name, it's thai, and his meaning is "Red Diamond".

I'm Jewish, half Thai, half France (and many others "halves") and I speak three languege: Hebrew, France and English.

My first time holding a camera was when I was six years old, my pic were always "perfect", the people in the middel, the pic neat.. and my relative tells I had that serious focused expression on my face when I hold the camera..

My dreams as a girl were to be: a tenis champion of the world (I was quite good at that), a manager of an hotel 5* (inspiration by the movie "Dunston Checks In"), a comic artist (I draw all day long), a jurnalist (I was good with writing), and today my dream is to become a photographer.
