With the new expansion announced at Blizzcon I have decided to sell my account from WoW, Im not gonna play the game anymore and I stopped doing so a year ago.

My account is a WoW vanilla Collector's Edition, with the 3 unique pets (panda cub, mini diablo and zergling) and I have 5 level 70 characters (Alliance: Druid, Shaman, Paladin, Hunter, Horde: Mage) nicely equipped to advance further into level 80, there are also some lower levels as well.

I've realized a great number of people manifest their true personality online, although a lot of people know this, its quite interesting to study.

Why is that? are people just faking what they are and what they want to say to other people in real life in fear of getting a negative reaction in return?

I'm not saying everyone does this on the internet, but a lot do, whether its because they find amusement out of it or just to piss people off.

I think this tells a lot about people, if they are only acting this way because they have the safety of a computer then deep inside thats what they truly are in real life, and they just hide it. Personally I behave the same way I do in real life, although I might express myself a little more freely I still stand behind the way I act in reality. People might think there is a difference between the two, but I differ, as long as the human element is there the outcome will be the same. This is why a lot of people have been pushed to commit suicide while having a web cam session for other users among other unfortunate events.

Considering I'm active in a lot of online forums and communities this is no surprise to me, but I think its an interesting topic to study, particularly in this day and age where more people are utilizing the internet as a way of self expression and social network.

Leave your thoughts on the topic if you have any.

Why I haven't uploaded anything yet is the fact that I have nothing to work with, my 6 year old scanner is basically dead and taking a shot with a digital camera is not the same.

Quite frustrating really, as I wanna get back to my normal work with art and ideas.

One thing Im gonna do is work on making a suit of armor like the knights used to wear, having found the materials to work with here I will probably start soon if everything works out.

Of course pictures of the development will pop up here and there

After 3 months, Im returning back to Panama next week, I don't want to sadly as I enjoy being here in San Francisco and living with my brother.

I wouldn't mind going back to Panama if it wasn't because I don't live in the city anymore, and while I like where my parents live right now, its not something I wan't to experience everyday.

I got tons of new ideas and projects I would like to work on, and maybe I will do so once I go back.

So since Im in San Francisco for a while, I will have the opportunity to visit this year's WonderCon held at the Moscone Center.

There will be many prominent artists from several industries including comic books and video games, like Jim Lee, Mike Magnolia among others. It will definitely be worth it.

The event will be from Feb. 27 till March 1. I will be taking as many pictures as I can and if they are worth it will be uploaded up here.

A lot of people have asked me why I call myself "The Mind Beyond the World" and to be sincere its quite simple.

As much as I love the world and the people around me, sometimes I feel Im not part of it or them. The term "The Mind Beyond the World" refers to my thinking which sometimes is not part of this society we live in.

Though a lot of people might find it weird to their standards, I have no problem with that its meant to happen.

However, what the term also is trying to convey is a sense that sometimes we humans must leave our earthly envisions, greed and vanity and concentrate on a much greater goal, what that goal is its up to you to find and follow.

Today we live in such a complex world that we have less time for ourselves and our mind, we follow what society dictates to us and only a handful of people go the other way around. We are less of individuals now, soon becoming a whole one entity with no personal integrity or private life.

Thus the term "The Mind Beyond the World"...

Here is the thing though, while the fan art you made is yours in the sense that its an original piece you worked on it is still violating copyright as your profiting from a character/setting/w.e you did not create. However if you were making fan art for non-profit there wouldn't be any problems, we see this everyday.

If I started selling t-shirts or toys about...lets say Mickey Mouse, Disney would file suit against me because Im profiting from something I did not create (which is the character), it is a clear violation of copyright laws, and most likely Disney would put me in trail and I would undoubtedly lose.

This is clearly piracy.

Now I don't mean to say this because I have a grudge against someone, but it is really disturbing to see this going around DA, specially with a certain popular artist, how are these people not getting onto legal troubles?

Do you like to question what is real and what isn't?

Is dreaming much closer to your perception of reality?

Is something real because we can see, smell, touch and hear it?

Simulated reality is the proposition that reality could be simulated, perhaps by computer simulation; to a degree indistinguishable from "true" reality. It could contain conscious minds which may or may not know that they are living inside a simulation. In its strongest form, the "simulation hypothesis" claims it is probable that we are actually living in such a simulation.

This is different from the current, technologically achievable concept of virtual reality. Virtual reality is easily distinguished from the experience of "true" reality; participants are never in doubt about the nature of what they experience. Simulated reality, by contrast, would be hard or impossible to distinguish from "true" reality.

Next week Im moving out of the city and into the country to live, hopefully not for the rest of my life as I can't stand the country and I love the city.

So...yea, Im a bit sad since I really liked my home, the last few weeks have been hectic as we pack everything from furniture, books among other things, quite tiring.

In terms of deviations and art, I will continue to develop it on my new habitat, wanting to develop further some of my skills in certain areas and see if someone else would like to join me for a collaboration or trade :3

So I finally got my Xbox 360 back after 5 months of being away on repairs, due to the nature of how poorly crafted these consoles are (thanks Micro$oft!). However, thanks to my brother it was repaired and it came home with 3 games, and I also have to add that my brother was in an internship program at Lucas Arts for a few months, today he received the news that he will be given a full time job there as a programmer. Woot!

Now on to other things... Im finishing college next week and if all goes well I will graduate too, which is good, but its been bugging me a lot what I will do after that, one of the reasons I want to take some time off to think about myself and what I want.

Oh right I forgot, I haven't added anything new for a couple of weeks, and while Ive been doing a lot of drawings none have been good enough to add them, the character customization in Soul Calibur 4 has been keeping me busy since its so damn fun >_>

It was to be expected, after the end of Batman Begins we all knew a sequel had to be made.

Well today I went to see The Dark Knight having high expectations and waiting for so long to see the film, all I have to say is Im pleased and I think Christopher Nolan and his crew did a terrific job at portraying Batman and his world, yet again.

Unlike Batman Begins, The Dark Knight is truly all about chaos, disorder, anarchy the moral code the Joker embraces and Batman is against. This film not only presents a more gritty, violent and at times scary Batman, it also puts moral questions to its characters, what is right and what is wrong.

Sure the movie will be overlooked as a summer flick, catering only to comic book fans and kids, and a way to merchandise toys and other stuff, but what The Dark Knight truly is is just one hell of a movie, doesn't matter if you are a fan or not you should see this film.

Im not gonna spoil the movie, but when you see the boat scene your going to see what I mean about morality, what is right and what is wrong. Themes we face everyday when we make choices, if we do this is it right or is it wrong? why? how?

Having said all this, I will repeat myself, go watch this film even Health Ledger's performance (RIP) is worth going for, and I for one would advocate having this wonderful young actor be awarded with an Oscar. Regardless of him receiving it or not, this is his best and last role.

And to end this I will only say the following: Black and White, Evil and Good are opposing forces, but the people caught between them are the ones who make the choices for either side. What kind of person, are you?

My brother worked on a game project for one of his classes and several times they required concept art for it. While I didn't like the setting of the game much, he is my brother and I wouldn't hesitate to help him out.

Basically the project was a First Person simulation of a school shooting, involving the Police and an armed Student. I was pretty amazed at the quality of it as well, yea its not Gears of War or Call of Duty 4 but it was still very good.

How did I help? I made the design for the armed student among other designs which were scrapped.

I can never really understand why nudity has to be seen as something unnatural or obscene, or in this case, mature. Quite a retarded way of thinking.

There is a difference between erotic, pornographic nudity and artistic nudity, their not the same, even so why do people feel the need to censor that kind of thing, its a natural part of the human body, I got an idea, lets put clothing on animals as well, clearly we don't want the kids to see them naked it will destroy their mind.

I know I must follow the rules present in DA, but that kind of thing just makes me think how close minded people can be in this time and age.

I raised a couple of homeless cats for a year since they were small, fed them, played with them and even watched as the female got pregnant and had 4 very cute kittens, but eventually I had to make them leave the house. Its not that I didn't love them or wanted them to be safe somewhere, but in Panama there is basically no help or shelter for animals, there is an agency that helps out but it does only by putting an ad on the paper telling people you are giving them away and thats it so even if I deeply regret it, I had to take action.

On my place I was taking care of 6 cats (and my dog), good thing I could give away the little babies very fast, the adults though were the harder part. I released them into the wild, far from my home in hope that they will live their lives on their own (after all, cats are very independent animals), they are not dogs, therefore harder to control and they peed everywhere, ripped a lot of toilet paper and ate too much. I loved those animals very much (the scars on my hands would tell you) but it was time for them, miss them and hope they will do well out there.

Most of the comments that deviation recieved were about how bad the pencil and technique were, and how much that artist needed practice. One of the admins. replyed to somenones comment saying this:


"From the deviantART Official FAQ - "Who selects the Daily Deviation and how is it chosen?"

The Daily Deviations are selected by a number of staff members. It is chosen based on personal preference and the desire to feature a particular deviation each day, for whatever reason that staff member deems appropriate. Do not question the selections as they are staff features and NOT awards! "

Umm...so let me get this straight..."based on personal preference"? so this means that if an admin. falls in love with a certain artist, he will showcase his deviations if he likes to and as many as he wants...that seems a bit selfish to me, if the idea of Deviant Art is to exchange art and culture as a media to help artists.

So if DDs are not awards, I would like to know how do some artists recieve more than 1 DD in less than a week, like . I think the point of DDs is to showcase different artists, but it seems it isn't working the way it is. With only 1 DD an artist can get lots of attention and viewers, so why give an artist 2 or 4 DDs, while theres hundreds of people waiting for at least one. This just proves my point that DDs ARE awards, and I wonder how many of those who recieve them have any sort of relationship with a mod. or admin. because sometimes they get so much that is stupid.

I dont think it is fair or helpfull to showcase the same artists over and over, and seriously there are lots of artists that require attention, more than those who have recieved DDs, which sometimes I wonder why they got em in the first place...


I still hope my idea of an Artist's Hall will one day see itself in a way to help all artists, and not those privilaged to have it. Maybe a deviants gallery isnt great, but maybe one deviation may.

And personally Im loosing my faith in this service, its getting to repetitive...im tired of seeing anime at least once or twice a day as a DD. Funny, cause when something fresh and original is showcased, few people actually appreciate it, but when it comes to japanese style everyone loves it. Im happy to say that I enjoyed all the time we spent on the film, and Im really gonna miss the people involved in it, mainly because most of the crew is going away, but I wont forget the work we all did. I wanted to celebrate a little big after we finished, but because of lack of time, we couldn't.

All thats left now is the editing of the film, which will take a lot more time to be finished than we did shooting it.
I cant say it with only words, because I feel their empty without me, expresing it to everyone...but Ill try to do it, since I know it still counts.




Thank you, all of you for a wonderfull experience and a treasure that I will hold deeply within my small heart.

You helped me achive a dream, and we made that dream come true.

Today we shot a lot of scenes, and I really liked the camera angles and lightning we used in most of them. We are almost done with the film, we just need to do 2 more scenes and thats it. Im really, really, REALLY happy with the whole project, although I was skeptical at first to be able to finish in time, everything worked nicely and the all the people involved did an amazing job ( CHEERS To yOU GUYS!!!! ). We continue filming with the last scenes, this thursday.

--UPDATE 20/8--

We continued with the movie today, shooting 3 more scenes at the same time like yesterday. One of the actors was short on time, so we had to do everything a little bit faster, which personally I dont like, because it seemed to me the scenes were shot a bit too fast. Still, everything worked perfectly and we finished the shots schedueld for today. We continue work on the film this tuesday.

--UPDATE 19/8--

Filming began today with the scene called: Streets of Tears (check here for the storyboard [link]). Evertyhing went great, from the support of the crew, actors and even the people who allowed us to use the place we used to shoot the scenes. At the end, we were quite weat, but we returned home to do the first scene called: Bad Dream! after all was set and done, we ate and went home. Tomorrow we continue the filming with 2, maybe 3 scenes more.

--UPDATE 16/8--

First group meeting was today, we talked about how the characters would play, their looks, costumes, poses, and we even did a little screen practice. Everything is working great, we have the entire cast ensembled (except for 1 character) and if all goes well, filming will begin this thursday.

--The Movie--

1. Ok so, whats my comic book, turned movie about?

(rolls drums) I never really talked much about it with a lot of people because I wanted to keep it a secret, mainly because the story has lots of twists that will make everything look different once you know whats happening.

So, to still keep it in secrecy, I wont reveal much, just a lil.

The story takes somewhere else, it isn't Earth, or any planet we know or will know about. There is no time, so it can be the future, past or present.
Kamili, is a trained assasin by a X goverment (the name of it doesnt need to be known), she works for them, killing important people who are enemies to the X goverments ideals. In one of her last missions, she is sent to kill a doctor, by the last name of Miller, however, during her journey to kill this man, two assasins are sent to kill her, a man named Ulan and a woman named Yukiaka, both of them go to the headquarters of Kamili's goverment agency and massacre everyone inside, they were after her, not the people inside.

Kamili journeys across a forgotten battlefield now know as the Wastelands, in which Dr. Miller is known to live, once she finds the location, she meets with an old war android named Cadman, he also was looking for Dr.Miller....

The difference between Tim Burton's Batman (1989) and Batman Begins, is that the first was more of a small episode in a series of chapters, you got lots of info on the characters and their ideals, but the movie is more centered towards the Joker, than on Batman. I for one, love the original costume and the batmobile as well...but, overall...I like Batman Begins a lot more. Its a deep movie, centered on why a guy dresses as a bat, its about fear, about taking action into your hands, and lets not forget, Batman never kills...something that happend on the Tim Burton's movies.

For one night...I went dressed as the Dark Knight...for one night, I felt like I was truly, Batman! and for one night, I showed people that I wasnt afraid to show them what I believed in. My costume wasnt all that great, but it was the best batman costume I could ever come to craft. Some people cheered on me, others said: "Hey its Batman!" while some other people, laughed and made jokes, which really, I didn't care...I was under my cowl, and no one knew who I was...so...screw em !

Well now that I made like a book out of this...I need to go to see the movie yet again...I cant get enough

UPDATE: Now I gotta wait 10 more days for my computer, the store needs a replacement item for my computer, so its additional time without it.

I cant believe it, yesterday my very new (4 months old) iMac G5, began to act strangely, first it turned off itself, and then I tried turning it on, but it didnt...I waited for a while and it finally turned on. I kept using the computer for about 10 or 15 min. until I began to smell a burned plastic like smell comming from the right cd opening, it was very strange, and suddenly it turned off again. I kept the computer in complete shutdown until I get it back to the store (it still has its 1 year garanty) but I researched more into the material, and it seems a lot of people have been having these "burnouts" with their imacs. I hope I can get mine back soon, I depend on it.....


.....until then I'll try to submit anything if I can, this computer problem caught me by suprise.... c ya....
