Onward, I've been writing a bit of Star Trek fanfiction, but I've discovered I hate fanfiction so badly, especially when there's someone's original character in it, because that character is typically a Mary Sue. It seems hypocritical for me to post it here if I don't read anyone else's, right? I've already posted a few Star Wars fics with my OC, a Rodian named Adesre, and I thought about pulling them for a loooong time till I noticed =DarthFar featured it in a journal (even though I told him to leave me out of the artist meme! I'm not an artist, just a poseur!).

Moar: I'm -obsessed- with the Watchmen, moar specifically, Rorschach. It's about freaking time there was a Hollywoood movie with a character who was anti-liberal who was a freaking good guy. I'm really sick of L.A.'s anti-human, pro-tree-hugger and pro-baby-killing agenda. And I'm sick of this government's anti-American agenda, while I'm at it!

Lastly, I don't think I'll be doing more Gmod shots for a while. I just don't have it in me, no inspiration, to be honest with you. It's so much work for a few favorites, especially when those favorites should be going to someone who can actually DRAW, like *HiddenMutation.

The list goes on and on! Aside from the designs, there's the gameplay, which is to die for. Easy to learn controls with areas increasing in difficulty make the game fun and appropriately challenging as the player learns more tricks.

Now, my qualms. What a buggy game! I crash half the time (and I know it's not my graphics card. I can run any other MMO without a hitch, but because this is through a web browser and not a downloaded program, it's different) and the other half, I have no sound. It just...gives out and won't come back.

The game takes a long ass time to load, and I'm usually dead by the time I can see the screen because I've been being attacked by monsters the whole time I was loading. I really hope this is beta trouble, and not game trouble, because I would LOVE to continue playing!

All looks good so far! I've been researching (and researching and researching and wtf) prices and everything, and it looks like instead of sawing all my limbs off to pay for the trip, I'm only gonna lose the proverbial arm and leg.

I'm gonna be paying for most of the vacation...*HiddenMutation will be buying stuff to make the costumes for Star Wars Weekends, and *Driven-Crazy will be making the costumes, so it's a long haul for me. I'm at 414 dollars so far, which is about one night in a room...not the expensive ass room we want, but it's still about 1/10th of our trip, not counting gas or spending money.

I'm taking a trip to Kentucky to see my beloved HM and DC, and we're gonna get started building the headpieces for the trip, and hopefully I'll be able to soak up a bit more birthday money. When I get back, I'll be busting ass getting a job. I'll be working full time (and the good news is, full time at minimum wage is just above a grand a month before taxes). I'm pretty much on hiatus from dA artistically, but I'll be sure to post pictures of my costume as it comes along.

First on the list of shit to talk about is North Carolina. A few of you know I'm heading there, and it'll be by the end of this month. We're putting an offer in on a nice ass house tomorrow (we didn't get to today because we were too busy not being British). I'll be happy when the move is over.

Second, I'm planning a trip to Walt Disney World for the summer of 2010. Seems like a ways off, but I have about 17 months before I have to book. *HiddenMutation and *Driven-Crazy are coming with me, so I'm not paying the whole bill myself. I have about 118 after a week and a half or so of Mom tipping me for running errands and collecting change and shit. I don't have a job now because...well, refer to paragraph one. I'm about to move.

I'm currently working on a 3D render for the Yuri club that ~SinisterlySweet and her friend are working on. I also have two more shots of Maul and A'ata coming up when HM is feeling okay enough to help me smooth them out (I suck, lol).

And finally, my request:

I had a discussion with ~SinisterlySweet the other day about why I like yaoi, and aside from the fact that I don't have to get rabidly jealous of the girl in the picture, it's like this...MOST (and I emphasize MOST) yaoi WRITERS are not pornographers. It's all about pure romance. Now. There's exceptions to this (see Harry Potter fandom. Nothing but pr0n there, folks), but for the most part, I'm right. On to the request.

Star Wars Crack pairing: Art for Rogue Squadron Commander Wedge Antilles and the bounty hunter, Dengar. Yeah, wtf, I know. I'm not sure either, but I can't get it out of my head, lol. I haven't decided how I'm gonna do this. I might do a "trade" of sorts, or I might do a contest. What do you guys think? It's been brought to my attention that there is a great number of SELF-INSERTON type characters. Well, there's actually one person doing it, and I've been getting frequent updates on this person. I am not watching this person, and they are not watching me, but they are a "friend of a friend" and their character is a very extreme Mary-Sue in the Resident Evil Fandom. If you, my miserably ignorant and unlikable little friend, should stumble upon this journal, I'd like you to know that you need someone to seriously beta read your character. There are SO MANY contridictions in your bio for her, that it is IMPOSSIBLE to see what she may or may not actually be like. Your character's mental disabilities (i.e. SCHIZOPHRENIA) would prevent her from ever being in S.T.A.R.S. And as for her love interest? LOLNO. YOU FAIL. Her "love interest" loves himself way too much to be even slightly interested in your character. I know that I have an OC in the RE fandom. Hernan. But, here is a few things that your character is and Hernan is NOT, which sounds like fun to me:
-Psychotic
-Strength to take on all but superhuman er...humans.
-A red head that likes green (BECAUSE THAT'S NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE.)
-A short attention span
-Uncanny resourcefulness
-A baby killer
-And many more...

Here is the main thing that Hernan HAS that your character does not, and will be her eventual downfall:

A writer than can write a paragraph without contradicting herself twenty-five times.

So I think, my point is, little miss perfect,

The Big Damn List Of Questions To Ask Of A Character
How to use this list: So you've got a character. Awesome. Now flesh them out. Sit them down beside you and force them to answer these questions. Don't let them cop out on you...for example, don't let them tell you they'd never kill someone. Make them tell you a scenario in which they would kill. Have a time with it.

What kind of shampoo does the character use and why?
Reliable sources say that on Krynn, they'd be using lye soap. Because he's a mage, Tiarnen Nobleron would likely add some sort of fragrance, probably something musky.

Does the character drive? Why or why not?
No. Last I checked, they don't have cars on Krynn, and if they did, Tiarnen drinks way too much. Hopefully, his friends wouldn't let him near a vehicle.

In what situation would the character kill another person?
Self defense. He won't attack, but if attacked, he'd certainly aim to kill.

What is something unique to the character that they imagine no one else has in common?
He's well-read, as any mage should be. However, he's quite loud, and is usually not without a flask of wine and his pipe.

What is the character afraid of?
Oh, what an expansive list. Tiarnen is terrified of commitment, being entrusted with anything of importance, and the being asked to finally pay his tab.

What does the character do for a living? Are they a student?
Tiarnen is a traveling mage, buying and selling magical artifacts and charms. He also frequently assists high wizards of the Conclave in copying spells into books for very little money. Tiarnen is by no means rich.

What is the character's single most prized possession?

If Tiarnen actually wakes up in the morning, you mean. When he does get up though, he immediately lights his pipe, gives himself a good scratch, and goes to empty his bladder. Once emptied, he dresses in his red robes (still smoking, mind you), and eats whatever was leftover from the previous night. After this, it is quite likely that his friends will urge him to get moving a bit faster, and he'll oblige, if for nothing else then to get the Kender to shut the hell up.

What makes a day a "bad day" for the character?
Tiarnen will make a big deal out of anything that goes wrong. He's a regular buzzkill, and will let little things rain on his parade.

What makes a day a "good day" for the character?
Is there booze? Tobacco? Women? If so, then this day is a good one.

"Please let raiders come and steal my companions in the night so I can sleep past midday."

Tiarnan will find something wrong with every season. Summer is too hot, winter is too cold, spring causes allergies, and autumn smells and should be obliterated.

Tiarnan is quite fond of his physical appearance, but would appreciate more prominent genitalia.

He doesn't have a great relationship with his father. Often, their conversations would end in fistfights, and eventually, Tiarnen stopped returning home.
