Things look like they may be sorting out.

In other news, Ebay owns my soul... and more imprtantly ALL my cash! Apart from like $48.

I bought a shiny new midi controller keyboard to help me with my music writing, its nice and compact and has pitch and modulation wheels so I'm happy.

Expect to hear music with horrible annoying whiney noises from pitch wheel in!

Oh and I got to talk to marti and dave today, they're too cute now they're finally together. His accent cracks me up Sorry man. Lots of love to you both.

Tafe is not looking so good, I'm thinking of switching to part-time study and overloading the subjects I don't finish thuis year whils I'm doing next years subjects.

Wow so much stuff has happened lately I'm finding it hard to keep up with tafe, work and dA.

So here’s a brief summary of the past month.

Yesterday went to *evil-santas exhibition with him and the delightful miss's Anna (=DarkMyth) and Dani (*yola-bear). The day was bloody tops. Or buckets of fun as Anna put it.

I got my wonderful, wonderful laptop. Her name’s River (yes River Tam [Summer Glau] you Firefly buffs). And she’s bloody tops.

I started playing Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time again, got further this time. It seems I can never end up finishing games, something always happens so that I can’t continue through to the end and by the time I feel like playing it again, I’ve lost the story so end up starting again.

Got the Wolfmother album yesterday, along with G3 Live in Tokyo (Satriani, Vai and Petrucci), which is wicked awesome, and Dream Theater live at Budokan.

I’m 5 weeks behind in tafe work and with only one week left in the term I think I’m pretty much screwed. What do you think?

I’ve been playing my own music more these days too, instead of learning other people’s songs I just sit and create new stuff, most of it I throw away, self critic syndrome again. But I enjoy just playing where the music takes me rather than to attain to someone else’s level.

Anyway that’s been me for a while, not very informative for a supposed month-long summary hey? Well I’m off t0 bed now, got to get up who knows what hour to leave my house by 625 in the am.

So many assignments will be due for tafe soon, its not funny. I'm probably about halfway through my potatoshop work for the semester and its due in a week and a half. Not to mention being like 4 weeks behind on my web work and flash work.

Weekend was quite relaxing, but that was all completely un-done by the evil that is Daylight Savings Time!

Seriously it's working me over hardcore. I was at work when I should have been in bed. I hope my body clock adjusts soon or else I'm just going to have to sleep on my keyboard.

I ended up missing out on most of the day/night yesterday because I was knocked out from hayfever meds. It was okay because I caught up on so much sleep. Now I'm all happy and refreshed.

I got two new albums in the last few days, White Stripes and Maximo Park. Both totally awesome, do yourself a favour and get them. Another band you should invest in is Wolfmother. I'm trying to get to their gig in November, but it's probably not going to happen now. Due to prior commitments. Damnit, I so want to see them.

So whats the news from Matty-town? Not alot really, got a snazzy photo printer/scanner thinger. One of the ink ducts is blocked on the cartrige, so I have to get a new one, kick thos fellas in the teeth if they make me pay!

Been thinking about alot of stuff lately, what I want for the rest of my life, you know family wise and such. Interesting things to think about.

On a shallower note, I went to a party last weekend, not just any party, a WIG party! No wig, no entry. So we all bought/made wigs to wear to this party it was the best. We have photos too, which I shall obtain soon, so you can all see my hat/wig combo in all it's glory!

I'm loving the slash/dash thingos today aren't I. I must be tired. TAFE tomorrow, but I don't have to be there until 9, woohoo, beats being there at 7:30 in the morning.

Talked to =martisunshine for most of the morning, (*hugs for you* hope you're feeling better) and did relatively little real work, just worked on that Home piece for a while, whilst eating after getting up at 11. It was a pretty easy day.

Well, I'll probably chat it up some more, might dabble in a bit of OpenCanvas on my current WIP, or not, I'm feeling a bit tired and headache-ey, and then hit the old dusty trail.

My colouring is starting to actually look decent with this thing. I tell you what, open canvas is sure getting a workout now.

I had my first photography class today, the whole lab is equipped with graphire3 wacoms and all the software goodies like 3DS Max 7, PS CS2, Dreamweaver...

Anyway over the time of the course we are expected to go on excursions and take in the vacinity of 200 shots to use in our projects, including night expeditions with the whole group. Should be great. I can think of some awesome ideas for photos that hopefully will be unique to the group.

So lets see whats happened while I've been gone.

I applied for a job. But didn't get it, was too late.

Got my old casual job back at the printing factory after it was stolen by a permanant who couldn't deal. So he left and they asked me back.

I come back an the dA community is in a mess over the dismissal of Jark. My views on this? It is a sad day that he had to leave and I hope that it's not the last we hear of him, I hope he fights it as best he can. But I don't think that protesting to the other admins is going to help much because as it's been said in the past, dA is not a democracy. What the admins say goes. Spyed obviously had a reason behind what he did and I'm sure all will be revealed soon enough.

Numerous things have bothered me about this site recently, part of the reason I took a break for a while, but in the end I've decided I won't be going anywhere. DA has been a HUGE part of my life in the last 3 years and there are so many of you here that I've grown to love and it wouldn't be right to leave such a good community because of the actions of one of the leaders.

I wrote another track today which is awesome. More distinguishable guitar-like than the last, with an improvised solo too. Which I'm quite proud of. No rehearsing was had for that solo, I just went where the music took me.

I originally made the song at 100 bpm but then =yola-bear and I decided to wind it down to 80 bpm to facilitate the writing of better lyrics. Anyways, in the slower one the solo is not as spectacular so I'll include a link to a short clip of the original solo.

Turns out I failed my major 3A3 assignment and have to resubmit by 4pm monday.

Yeah that's okay, you might say, you have all weekend to fix it. Wrong!

My computers screwed remember. Looks like I'll be here tonight until it's done.

I apparently don't...

I had written quite a lengthy journal just now, and what happens? The browser window closes itself while I'm typing, making me lose hundres of words. I won't try to write it again because really I don't remember or have the will. Just another thing to piss me off.

In short, a hell of a lot of things have gone wrong in the last couple of days, including my computer eating itself and not booting anymore and the possibility of losing my entire backlog of artwork and music collection. If that happens I shall tie the rope.

A good thing though, I've continued on my streak of actually completing work and have now got about an hours actual work left to do. Feels kinda good because I know I have until 2pm to do it, and it's 9:30am now.

Oh yeah the "entee ell dehr" thing was explained in the journal that dissapeared, so now you miss out I guess. The story behind it was like 500 words or something so I can't be botehred writing it again.

So I googled "learn php" and found the W3Schools tutorials on PHP and started reading. Man is it good, all the stuff that I hate doing in ASP is so simple in PHP, and the whole language is a lot more structured than ASP. Granted ASP is alot more like plain english and easy to understand, but PHP isn't that bad, it actually makes more sense to me than ASP does.

So that's it, I'm learning it this weekend and going to start my new sites backend as soon as possible.

And I may try to migrate Llamacom over to PHP too, but I think that's a big job for anothoer time (Llamacom took me a whole year to code in ASP, thats how big the site is, literally thousands of lines of code).

Or I could just Leave Llamacom as ASP and get sam to host that on his computer when he gets ADSL2 later this month. And I'll get a professional web host for my PHP stuff for like 5 bucks a month, instead of like 25 a month for ASP hosting.

So my plan for tomorrow is to get to tafe at 7:30am. I can spend about an hour solid working on the two 4PU assignments and get them finished, then I have the rest of the day to do the 3A3 documentation for friday. Then if I don't finish the 4S1 tonight I'll do it once the 3A3 is done tomorrow.

If all goes to plan, I should be completely finished EVERYTHING by tomorrow night! Then I have to do a training session with another student on friday for 10 mins, and that's it. CERT 3 OVER!

I also found out that next semester, I only have to come in for 2 units, because the rest are all done online, over the web (makes sense, it's a web development course). And the only 2 subjects I have to come in for are Photoshop and Flash classes. How awesome is that. Totally.

Although I finished enough assignments today to keep my lecturers buried under pressed timber pulp until greenland thaws.

Hopefully more will be done tonight and tomorrow aswell.

Really I'm screwed aren't I? I have to do them in like 2 days... and have no motivation at all. But if I finish enough work by Wed night, I might have dinner with some friends and try to de-stress a bit, knock back a few beers and have a few laughs.

Still have one exam tomorrow, haven't studied... ohwell there's still tonight and the bus trip tomorrow morning.

I just spent 2 hours recoding my CSS so that it'll work under IE, because I got to tafe and guess what!? Ofcourse they use IE6 instead of Firefox like I have at home.

Everyone should just use Firefox, then we'd all be happy.

I think $pachunka said it best - "I could sleep in more if you didn't use IE."

In other news I found a plugin for Firefox that means you can edit the page and it's CSS in a tab in the broswer instead of having to sawitch between broswer and multiple notepad windows.

Pity they didn't tell me it would save them in Unix format and kill of of my line breaks.
