I rarely write a journal but I have receive 3 messages from my main page given links to untrusted websites. I did test one of them out and it's a fishing website. You can find more information about this attack here [link] .

My rule is not to visit sites out side of dA. I believe Google do have some protection against such web sites.

So I arrived in VN around midnight. It was such a different world there. Cars and trucks are equally present but largely out numbered by motorcycles. The huge diff was how crowded it was. Everyone is honking everywhere. Motorcycles are all over. And every house seems to be selling something, but most of them were little restaurants with little tables and chairs.

About 2hrs drive, I arrived at my home for the next several days and we slept for the night. Finally a bed that isn't vibrating or moving up and down. And this bed I don't have to rest on my buns nor do I have to curl my legs because there is not much leg room. It's not as comfortable as my own bed but after 18hrs plane ride, a flat bed is heavenly. LOL

It was like I had never seen it before. For the first time I woke up with a golden sun brightly shine through the window curtains. I open my room door and I felt the morning heat and the bright golden sun. First thought came to my mind was "So this is how morning looks like".

Update.. ha ha ha.. I know I haven't done it for a long time but better late than never right?

Anyway.. the few things I notice in Vietnam that is different than here are the people. They are much closer. You see kids playing and friends riding bicycle together. Some even holding hands when riding side by side. Even what look like a younger smaller brother sitting on the driver seat on the bicycle while the bigger sister sitting in the passenger seat in the back with her legs paddling. I didn't know it is possible to do it like that. Learn something new everyday. hahaha

They may be poor, but just by seeing what they r doing you can tell that they have something we American don't, CLOSENESS.

On my third day there, we were heading home when there was an accident ahead. Traffic slowly moving and when we were passing the scene of the accident I saw a bus parked on the side with the emergency light blinking while a motorcycle all banked up with two body laid flat on the ground motionless and darn pool around him. It was dark but I am very sure that was blood. I was told that this happen almost daily and usually it is at night when car/bus/truck don't see the motorcycle. Just make me think how fragile our life is. JUST LIKE THAT.

The big event that I was expecting finally came. New Year. It is the BIGGEST event in Asia. They work the entire year and this is their only holiday. They get the entire month off to go home to be with their family. Some have their family in the country while they come into the city for work. So this is their one and only chance to go home to be with their wife and kids. Can you imagine sleep/eat/live in your work for the entire year without seeing your family? I know I can't.

The only thing I don't like about being there is the weather. The heat and humid really got to me that by the second week I became ill. It is like a fever. Just 2 bottles of IV and I am back on my feet.

When coming back to the US, I felt... lonely. No honking cars 24/7, no people yelling on the road.

I know I left out a lot but many of it cannot be describe. Only being there you will feel it. The little details.

Waahooooooo I'm finally home. 5hrs for the first flight and the connection flight was another 12hrs... I'm so tired right now . But it is 12 noon right now so must try to stay awake. Luckily this time I am stronger and could withstand the airplane decent for landing. It was a rough decent. Several times I thought I would .

3,689 files in my camera. LOL A little toward the end of the trip I decide to make a little change. Instead of taking all pics in Large format, I from then on take scenic/junk pics in Small jpg format. Save lots of memories. My camera memory capacity show in the camera is 7.7Gig and I was using 7.2Gig at the end of the trip.

Tomorrow at midnight I will be getting in the airplane for the long long trip (5hrs + 13hrs) to get back to the US.

Tonight will be the last night I will sleep in my comfortable bed, in the US. Departing always have a sad feeling. Not sure what will happen in the future but knowing tomorrow I will leave here and head on a journey to the other side of the world. The culture will be different. The atmosphere will be different. Even the time will be different. When I normally sleep comfortable, I will be awake. And when I normally up and going to work, I will be trying my best to rest and sleep and it won't be as comfortable as my bed. The uncertainty increases. So much that even my credit won't work.

Anyway, my dA friends I will be part from you for 2 weeks. *hahaha* Yes only for 2 weeks. No more, no less. As the great robot once said... "I'LL BE BACK!!! "

We may be far apart but we are close at heart. So take care everyone and I will see you next year. HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!!!!!!

I've done over 8hrs drive to the Grand Canyon and back to Vegas and flew through the night to get back home. I'm so dead tired.

A little update.

Since oil price is on a constant going up, now imagine certainly we have no more gas. What will some of the changes be?

1) My 165 horse power car..... well... I'll be lucky if I get 2 horse power. One horse on the left, one on the right.

2) At least there is one good thing come out of it. Horse max speed is only 35mph. "No officer, I wasn't speeding... seeeee "

In the old days when car still run on alcohol.. a drunk guy could say "A little sip for me, a little sip for my car". One of the joke in the movie "Man of the Year" was "Officer, I wasn't drinking my car was".

Now, I sometime go to lunch for me and my car. And sometime it's even at the same gas station. LOL "Some food for me and some food for my car". (I go inside to buy food while the car outside filling up)

Could you imagine later car run on E85 (fuel from corn)... I would have to change and say "Some corn for me, some corn for my car".

How about that Hydrogen fuel idea? It uses Hydrogen to create energy for the car and release water. So then when I drive on a long trip I have to "leak for me and leak for my car". LOL Do they have to make a restroom for car too? LOL When that time come, I have to ask my car if we should pull in at the next rest station for leaks. LOL

I really and truly love the solar powered car idea. You just keep driving until the car need maintenance. During a heavy down pull, you don't need to slow down because your car will do it for you. This car is afraid of lightning and rain too. It also afraid of long dark tunnels... and it refuse to go out at night. LOL No matter what happen, I still love solar car. Sadly it don't get enough solar to go 100mph.

Started out Los Angeles CA.. then zoommm to Vegas and zooommmmm to Hover dam. Then zoomm back to Los and ZooOM over to Hawaii.

In Hawaii.. start with Kawaii... then zoom to Big island and zoom.. and zoommm and next thing I know I am sitting here typing this.

Took over 3000 pictures... could you believe it? Over 10gig of memories.

I need a vacation from my vacation before I could get back to work.

I'll upload some pics later. I am so dead tired right now.

Could you believe I went to bed last night at 7pm?
Normally I don't go to bed until 11pm and sometime even 2am.
And I didn't wake up this morning until 9am. 15hrs of sleep.. wow. I needed it.

And I Just check my credit card bill... close to $3k.

Do you know Microwave cannot kill fruit flies?
One time I got so tired of all the fruit flies flying around. So I putted the rotting fruit into the microwave and leave the door open. When I came back it was covered with fruit flies and I closed the door... "haha.. now you'll die"... I punched in 5mins and START. I watched evilly.....1min..... "maybe it'll take a little longer".......2mins...... "Hmmm".........3mins...."fruit is smoking"...........4mins........."They're not dieing, flies win" I open the door and trashed the smoking rotted fruit.

Now don't you feel you are more intelligent knowing this? LOL

I don't think ant are afraid to fall. But why do they cling on so hard when they're about to fall? My answer is...they afraid... afraid of the long distance they have to go to get back up. LOL.

Do you know what scares me the most daily? I'm not sure it will apply to everyone but for me there are 2 things that scare me every single day....bills and cop with radar gun. So naturally ppl with the name Bill also scares me. LOL

I've been searching, saving, try my best not to eat out for many many moons to save up the $. Last Thursday I took a deeeeeeeep breath and put in the order for a new Lens. Canon 24-105 f/4 IS. [link]

I just a walk around Lens that will do everything, Portrait/Landscape/Scenic.. and I hope Macro too but this Lens doesn't seem to be very good with Macro. O well, can't have them all.

I've been checking the order status every 5mins since. And last night it showed "In transit" .
