It occured to me that I haven't posted anything about how I'm going to the University of Alberta for Engineering.

Oh wait, I just did.

Everything is awesome, except the work load. That pretty much sucks. If you think highschool is bad, I laugh at you. Ha HAHA! They should make a month of university mandatory for grade 12 students, so they can get the work ethic, and then thank their high school teachers for assigning such easy assignments.

In three hours, we learned everything about wave lengths we did in highschool, and then some. It was fun.

Res is awesome, and being able to take a five hour block of time to get an assignment done is great. Supper/dishes always interupted it before.

Oh, and the school beaucracy is pretty dumb. They think I am a dishonoranable theif.

I've meet a lot of cool people. A guy called Protic is in all my classes, so we hang out a lot. And gasp fairviewites, he's not white!!!!!

I was in a dorm with 5 asians and another white guy, doing an EngG 130 assignment. (Check out my cool class code. It makes outsiders feel inadaquite to take a course they can't even understand the name of. Yay for three dimention vectors. (They actually suck a lot.))

It is now 2:00 (class starts at 11:00 on wednesdays, mom) I must go to bed. (In my very cool room.)

(If you look at the dates of my other journals, expect another one in two months.)

Oh ya, I have a chem midterm on thursday, and I've only been here a month.

This tutorial is so full of information, it's amazing.

If you don't know, you can get cool new fonts here: fonts.com
I recommend browsing through the top 100 fonts. I found and Old English font, a pen and ink font and a wild west font. I had to look online to figure out how to install them, but you just have to go to the control menu/appearances and themes/ and in the side bar there will be a fonts folder (In windows xp) You can drag the true type files in there, and a window will pop up showing you installation progress. It takes a second.

In other news, exams are creeping up on me. It is most annoying.

(Slow computer is slow ) To my great suprise, I saw that a photo of mine, [link] had been featured in the fifth weekly article of Undercurrent. It spotlights various unknowen deviants.

Lately, I've been caught up in school and the approaching finals. I hope to get back to doing artistic things this summer, because Im going to be the camp photographer at Camp Sagitawa in British Columbia. I also have some pictures I took but didn't have time to edit. There is no internet at the camp, so I'm hoping to start submitting at the beginning of next school year. Until then, I'm going to lurk a bit.

I downloaded the POV-Ray 3D graphic engine (or whatever it's called) and the Wave Pad sound editor. I'm going to play with thoes a bit too. Is there some way to submit songs to DA? I have something that's sort of cool that I made for english.

On Monday, I went to Edmonton for the MLA for a Day program. It lasted 1.5 days (They were careful to not say two). I got to debate a bill on the floor of the Legislature, a place that only MLAs are usually allowed to go. I saw the Premiers office (There's a secret door in the wall that leads to a fridge.) and the paintings that followed you with their eyes. There were a lot of smart, intelligent people there, since they were the ones that thought politics would be interesting. I shared a hotel room with a Chinese guy named Ye, although people just called him Max. We were divided into parties and asked to create a platform to present to everyone else, who then voted. The Banana Party won, partly due to the fact that they wanted Alberta sovereignty. The food was pretty good. I met someone who might be coming to the U of A and be doing the same sort of thing that I am. I learned that whom is used after a verb, as opposed to who. I took a lot of pictures, some of them from the very tiny tower thing at the top of the building, which was very cool.

Wow, that's jumbled.

By the by, I now have massive amounts of homework after missing two days of school. Anyone else hate trig identities?

The designs are in my scraps, if you want to see it. If she posts pictures of it like she usually does, I'll link them here. It arrived today, and was exactly what I had asked for. The only fault I can find is that the paint wasn't think enough in a few spots on the blade, and wood shows through a bit. Anything else wrong is the result of it traveling over seas, and can be quickly fixed. The next paragraph is me gushing about how cool it is. Skip it if you wish.

I have big hands, but the handle is big enough to be comfortable. It's also the first example of sword handle wrapping that I have seen, so I'll have fun trying to duplicate it. The balance is perfect, being right where the hilt meets the handle. Somehow, the hilt is the prefect size, although I didn't give her one. The blade is wider than I imagined, but that's good. The colors are great and it's the right diameters.

If you ever need some cosplay stuff (she doesn't just do swords), you should at least get a quote from her.

Now I can add contact info to every picture I take. I've also decided to start adding water marks to my pictures. I've heard of a lot of people having their pictures ripped off, so I hope this will act as a deterrent. I will never put in in a stupid spot, tho.

This book os really cool. It's called The Adobe Photoshop CS3 Book for Digital Photographers. There is a lot of cool stuff in it. While it doesn't go into any of the theory, it gives a lot of fun/neat stuff to do. Some of the stuff in it is really simplistic, but it contained a chapter on Adobe Bridge, which is an uber photo organizing tool.
I found a tool that works with another tool for Internet Explorer. The first one is called Real Player, which probably everyone knows about. It lets you download videos and songs from the web pages they are stored on. Think Youtube or any other mass video site. The only problem is that most videos on the web are in a weird format that nothing can read. Until now that is. Everyone should go to here [link] and download this. It's not a virus. That was the first thing I checked, and there is a rather large forum devoted to this software. It will put a short cut on your desktop that starts a program than makes a little box appear on your screen. You can drag any .flv (the internet video format) videos into it, and it will play them. I'm particularly interested in getting the Pure Pwnage episodes downloaded, so I don't have to steam them (which takes a really long time) every time I want to play them.

On another note, I just realized that the Google toolbar has a spell checker built into it. Now there is no reason for me to switch to FireFox and learn a new system. Yay! (Notice the error free-ness?)

In other news, I found this quote on a players profile Tribal Wars. I thought it was neat.

"The good fighters of old, first put themselves beyond the possibility of defeat and then waited for an opportunity of defeating the enemy." Sun Tzu

(P.S. The emoticon is still broken, but in a more confusing way. I choose one that looked cool, but is inaccurate.)

Someone who was planning it was really stupid. I have gone previous years, complaining all the while, but this year I didn't. I was staying home to study. Well, it turns out that my cousins birthday is was today also. It was just assumed that I would go to that also. We left at 1 and didn't get back until 11:30 pm! I have to get up at 9:30 tommorow to go to church. I brought my books to my grandparent's house, where the party was, but I fell asleep because I only got 8 hours the night before and needed like 10 or something from not getting enough sleep over the week. So now I have to go to bed in two hours, and I haven't even updated my tribesw account, which I check every day, and it takes a while. Sigh. /rant

If you read all that, good for you. I don't really care. I wroter this because I want to be reminded that I am not going ANYWHERE next exam weekend, except to church for 2 hours.

The regional competition was held last weekend, and I was first. As a result, I'm going to calgary next month to compete in provincials. I normaly use Photoshop and InDesign to do whatever I need to, but for Provincials, they are using Creative Suite 3 Design Premium, Creative Suite 2 Premium and Linotype FontExplorer. I have never used any of these programs, but after searching them, Linotype seems to be just a huge catalogue of fonts. Creative Suite is still a mystery. You have to pay $9.99 for the "free demo" that your supposed to be ablt to "download", so that sort of sucks. I suspect that Creative Suite is what the CS stands for in Photoshop CS2, but I don't know. ANybody have any advice?

Well, i just finished writing my pure math 20 exam. That was intresting. I think I did ok, but not the best I could of done. After I got out of the gym (where we were writing it) I felt pretty good. Then, since it was Thursday, I decided to go and count money now instead of at the end of the day. That was more draining than the test. I was constantly cross checking my sums to make sure I didn't screw up my numbers. Thankfully, it did work out perfectly. Now I have nothing to do for the next four or five days except go to my youth group on friday. The calander said we're doing something called gladiators, which I gather is a bunch of tasks, some of them quite physical.

With the semester over, it seems that a whole school year has passed. They are giving us a break, which I think is to make us sane again after all that studying. A chance to relax and turbo my villages on Tribal Wars.

Anyway, that's what happened today.

Oh ya, my mom left for mexico a few days ago. My brother sister and I are staying at home alone. We haven't torn each other apart yet, so that's a good sign.

Well, this is the last week of the first semester, which means finals are ahead. I have a social one on wednesday and my math final on thursday. I am studying, although I probably should be studying more, instead of wasting time on Tribal Wars. This is difficult because my village count is growing, with me just passing 100k points a few days ago. I think I will buy a premium account soon, because it only costs 30 dollars for 300 days. I figure that a dollar every 10 days is a great price for eing able to manage my villages faster. Plus, I will get access to all the extras, and might even start playing on a new world. Mabey the speed rounds. IDK.

There was a big leadership battle this past week, and I am writing up the history of it. It will hopefully be done tomorrow, but probably not until next monday. Sigh. I have to do it soon, while the events are still fresh in everybody's mind. I hope I can write it down fairly and without bias. After I finish it, I'll post it here. I think It will turn out to be a great story, because it's full of backstabbing, betrayal and conflicting view points with everyody thinking they're right in what they did.

P.S. I'm feeling guilty about writing this and not going to sleep on time. Why can't I just remove sleep from my life? It's supossed to be possiable.
