Babysitting kids.

Yes, today I started my job at the CDC (Child Development Center). Mostly briefing and training papers so far. (I'm on my lunch break right now so I went home.)

I'm pretty excited to get started--I've been feeling particularly lethargic lately what with not being in school or having a job.

Also, I've been working with flash lately (instead of just doodling on it like I usually do.)

Its pretty confusing stuff but I'm hoping I'll be able to teach myself something useful with that program (since there aren't any classes here I can take to learn it.)

If you know any uber awesome (and simple to understand derr derr) flash tutorials I'd be grateful.

ALSO I swing in and out of music moods and lately I've been swung into none other than. . .
SKA. Particularly ska-punk.

Thing is I only really like two bands-- The Aquabats and Reel Big Fish. I used to listen to both bands a while back but I just recently revisted them (listening to the same songs I used to).

The main thing I like about them is their joking songs and fun sound. Some other punk or ska-punk bands are fairly serious and I never really liked serious stuff so. IF YOU KNOW ANY BANDS THAT ARE A LOT LIKE THE AQUABATS AND RBF TELL MEE 8D

Need some new songs to listen to~ (Though I don't think I'll EVER get bored of RBF's "My Imaginary Friend" such an oddly awesome song.)

Anywho, its about time for me to get back to work.

Yukari and her friends were sooooo cute and hospitable. They're just so awesome 8D I hope I can meet them again soon. I want to learn Japanese even more since meeting them.

Let me explain. I knew Ouran High School Host Club was a shoujo. I KNEW that. But there were SO many hints of Twincest and Honey/Mori. So I figured. Hey. Maybe the creator wouldn't mind tossing in some BL along with some Haruhi/Tamaki goodness.

But no.

I was wrong. (Like usual)

Its still too early to declare if its really a Hikaru x Haruhi thing. Personally the thought of it in the slightest makes me sick.

Some of you may be thinking. Hey. Tankar. Shut the hell up. Well, you know what? No. >_>

I've got nothing wrong with heterosexuality. Hello? I'm straight. So you people who hate people who love BL can step off and join the Trucker in the corner over there.

Wow, hello you. You've managed to make it this far in my journal entry. Send me a note. I'll make you something cool. Like chibi BL sex or something. Really, I didn't think I'd have a sentence like this in my entry. I'm just taking a little breather to think what I should say next about how upset and hurt I am about the current status of this anime. Cue Jeopardy theme.

Anyway. Yeah. Really, I don't even mind too much (I mind, yes) if the twins aren't really twincest. But I do think that Hikaru and Kaoru are the most important to each other. And to play it out that Haruhi could seemingly cut in between them and make a pairing with Hikaru leaving poor adorably Kaoru behind just totally grinds my gears. (Whoo, Family Guy reference.)

Anyway. . .Heres my first club.

This might be the first step for me to join other clubs. Now I just have to figure out if theres a way that I can make it so I'm not constantly having to copy/paste that icon link. . .So if anyone knows, tell me. I'm too lazy to look it up in the FAQ or something. . .

Yeah, so... hows it going... I'm good.... though my artistic abilities are slowly diminishing @@; I need a new art project. I fuckin' hate long art projects. Who the funk wants to make a funkin' calender on paper thats not even funkin' white and its all like... normal art paper. I like computer paper T.T; And I just... don't want to do it anymore, so I'm rushing through it. I could get an A+ on it... but I'm looking more towards a B grade since I don't really like it...

In reference to my Boise Weekly piccy. The fuckin' bastards still haven't sent me mine back. The teacher doesn't know if anyone's won. Some people have gotten theirs back already, but a few of us haven't. I hate that picture as though I were the Pope playing shogi with the devil and the fuckin' bastards cheating. [ I. E. In other news. The art exhibit. Its on the 27th of october so that gives me roughly a month to come up with a blow out of the water picture to show these damned americans what REAL art is about. (real Filipino art, atleast )

What I need YOUR help on is deciding what to draw. I NEED and answer by the first of October (About 10 or so days) I'm going to do one of the following pictures OR a rendition of one of my oekakis. Anything in my gallery or scraps is valid for reccomendation. Please dont' feel like you HAVE to choose from one of these pictures, if you have something you think looks really cool, give me a link and I'll check it out. I really hope I win... I mean, I'm a very competitive person when it comes to art, I hate to say. It goes against all the preaching I do. I'm such a hypocrite. But still... I don't want to win because the winner gets 150 bucks and their picture on the front of an Idahoian newspaper (boise weekly). By the gods no. If anything, I want no one to know I'm in this god forsaken wasteland (no offense to anyone who likes the Potato, er, Gem State).

I want to win because the winner gets a gift certificate (of some amount, I'm not sure how much) for Boise's art store. That, my friend(s), is why. I just got my Prisma Colored Pencils (that my dad bought for me online) 24 pack today. I've yet to sharpen them and try them out. I'm a little disappointed because the 24 pack doesn't have tan or as many inbetween colors as the 72 or 100-some odd ones would. I mean. I'm no retard, I can blend --; But still... Its so much easier with more tones to choose from

Anyway, my picture will be done soon. Its going to be a mixture of Colored Pencil and Marker. Marker mainly for the background and a glossy effect... Anyway... Yeah...

What a way to start a journal, ne? Anyway! I'm listening to Paper Heart by All American Rejects. I love them ^^ I used to be a total metal head; you know, In Flames, Metallica, Pantera, Dimmu Borgir, Cradle of Filth, Cannibal Corpse. But for the passed months I've been more into alternative and classic rock. I don't consider Simple Plan and All-American Rejects punk rock mainly for the fact I don't like the stereotype 'punk'.

Anyway! I was just looking at the Underrated Artists thing sent by DA, and I was listening to this... and, well... I'm totally going to try my best to become a better artist ^^

Today, I'm going to beg my mom to get me some prisma colored pencils and markers (such as the ones I used in my 'Git'em Goku, Git'em' picture. I really want to become a better artist. I know I can draw already. But black and white rugged sketches can only get me so far.

My goal for now is to get my picture issued on the front page of the Boise Weekly. (I have to enter it anyway, since its an art project in my Commercial Art class ) But I really REALLY want to win. Not because I get 150 bucks and some gift certificate to one of Boise's art stores, but because it would just mean that out of all the people who had submitted, I had appealed more.

Anyway, here I am ranting about my dream of becoming a super kick ass artist like my hero, Akira Toriyama I just thought I'd mention this in my journal because I'd LOVE IT, absolutely 'hug-you-to-death-and-rape-you' love it (and... that is just kinda not-me, btw, which is why its a big deal) if anyone could give me some in-depth ideas on how I could improve my art.

Now, as you all should know, there is no such thing as a 'better artist' Art is about style, and expressing yourself. When someones art appeals more to an audience it is not BETTER than yours. I just wanted to stick that out because I'm not looking for a way to change my style. I'd never do that. I'm looking for things like: ways to get it to appear like the markers don't overlap or how to color with colored pencils. I'm asking for hints to improve my technique. Not my style.

Anyway, wow, that was a long entry. Once again, I would love it if you could help me out ^^ And I close with this:

I'm currently on 4 (yes, four) oekaki boards of which I'm trying not to flood with my pictures So, I need a program (thats free x_x;;; ) that I can download onto my own computer so I'm not wasting other people's oekaki board's space Any suggestions? I have: MSPaint, PSP8, PS8 and... thats it for drawing programs ><; And I dont' really want to draw on those Help me out! ... Please?

Anyway, whoever makes my hundreth hit ( I need proof, to do that hit the scroll lock key and then print screen, copy+paste it into paint or something and save it ) will get either a drawing or oekaki made for them by request. I'll do almost anything o.0; You have to level with me though, I'm not Akira Toriyama, ok? XD

With my luck, the person with the 100th hit won't even notice XD But thats ok. Its the fact that I'm TRYING to make a big deal out of nothing.
