I've...had this weird urge to punch something lately. Somethihng solid and hard (so those of you who were going to tell me to hit a pillow, sorry but no). It's not that I have some unreleased anger to deal with. To tell you the truth I've been quite passive for a few weeks now, pain-stakingly numb even to a point where I don't really feel anything. Emotions aren't the problem this time.

Maybe it's all just getting to me. With father drama, school stress, and old memories of things I'd rather forget...it's all building up. Is it normal to lay in bed for hours just staring at the ceiling? Cuz I don't think it is. Oh, no. The long hours of thinking have come back. Joy...

Monday, July 3, 2006 - Happy birthday to me! ^-^ Went shopping with mom and one of her old friends. Saw nothing I liked except a few Shaman King mangas. Came home and went back out to get fireworks. Brother didn't take me out bar hopping though cuz he had to work, which I'm glad of. I don't quite trust him with a drunken me.

Tuesday, July 4, 2006 - Hung out all day until nightfall cuz all our stuff were for night time fun. Played until 1:00 AM in the morning doing stupid things including almost getting killed by mom [I‘m being serious here, one of displays she lit fell over and it‘s side and started spinning as it was shooting at us].

Wednesday, July 5, 2006 - Left for the airport 5:00 - 5:30 AM and boarded the plane at around 6:30 AM. Arrived in Los Angeles at around 8:00 AM Pacific time [10:00 AM Central] where me and mom were taken to her friend‘s house. Cousin Christine picked me up at around 1:00 PM and took me down to Palmdale where we proceeded to go to see Cars and to the park afterwards.

Thursday, July 6, 2006 - I‘m not exactly sure. I think we went shopping…yes, shopping. That‘s when I got a nice pair of pants from the Sears store. Me and Christine also helped cousin Thao pick out some new clothes.

Friday, July 7, 2006 - Me, Christine, and Thao went back to the mall to return some stuff and ended up getting clothes for Thao that she actually liked. Got some nice stuff at Hot Topic for myself as well. Had a picnic in the park before Christine took me to hang out with her friend Virginia and some of her friends at Starbucks.

Saturday, July 8, 2006 - Beach day! Tis when I got my nice sunburn. But that‘s alright cuz I actually have some color on me legs now [not to mention I get the fun of finally being able to peel it off now]. On the way home I also got my first taste of In-N-Out food. That stuff‘s delicious, though I couldn‘t bring any home for my brother like he asked.

Sunday, July 8, 2006 - Cousin Todd took me and Christine out to eat barbeque at Dave‘s Barbeque. He offered to get me an alcoholic drink but I refused cuz he‘s a huge penny pincher and would get me something generic. He did take us and Leyna [Thao‘s little girl] to see Pirates of the Caribbean but he only paid for himself and Leyna [no comment on that]. Went to Barnes & Nobles too…twice. Got myself a shiet load of books before going to hang out with Christine‘s friend Virginia. Played Scattergory, Scrabble, Trouble, and then Girl Talk at her house.

Monday, July 10, 2006 - Made a few errands at Costco and ordered a cake for our joint birthday parties [for me, Leyna, and Christine]. Shopping in Burbank I do believe or at least somewhere around that area. Didn‘t see anything I liked but that‘s alright. I‘m usually not a big spender and am picky of the things I get. Had dinner at the Elephant Café though which was nice.

Tuesday, July 11, 2006 - Picked up the cake and the alcohol for the party. Yes, we had a drinking party for my amusement. Drank an Apple-tini, a margarita, and a few sips of a Screwdriver. All of which were heavy on the vodka [because my family likes it strong]. I took a few pictures but sadly I didn‘t get drunk so their not as entertaining. I was slightly buzzed though with was an odd feeling. Apparently I get more talkative as I drink more alcoholic beverages. Go figure.

Wednesday, July 12, 2006 - Aunt Moony asked Christine to take me to the mall so that we could meet her there…so she could buy me a purse. And not just any purse, but an expensive Coach purse that probably costs more than anything else I own. Ended up shopping again where I got some really nice stuff, especially from my dear Hot Topic. -heart- Christina made me a Screwdriver for the road before Mom‘s friend picked me up and took me down to the valley to meet up with her.

Thursday, July 13, 2006 - I actually spent the entire day watching Kenshin episodes all the way up to 30 I think. Mom‘s friend took us out to eat...and mom offered me half her Corona [which I took]. I found it ironic that she was warning me about getting drunk off of half a Corona bottle when I survived drinking three heavily alcoholic drinks [but shh! We won‘t tell her about all that].

Friday, July 14, 2006 - Most of the day was spent at the airport or on the plane. The trip back home seemed shorter than the trip out though. -shrugs- I‘m just happy I got my complimentary cookies on the flight.

I watched too much Shaman King. For some odd reason I always liked the dynamics of the Tao family on the show; how they valued their family honor above anything else. Sure Tao En went about regaining that in the wrong way, but he had good intentions behind it. And besides, Tao Ren made a great attept to rectify that. And it always helps that Tao Ren was overall my favorite character ever. The empress part of my name came about when I was writing a Shaman King multi-chapter fic about Hao's first life, making connections between the Tao and Asakura family [as a way to explain the feud that seems to be going on between them in the anime].

1) I have a double jointed thumb; just one. I'm not sure when I realized that it was. Let's just say that it took me a while to realize that it bent back differently from everyone else's.

2) I used to be afraid of my shadow...literally. I blame my mother for that. When I was little she told me not to play with my shadow or it would come alive at night and kill me...yeah.

3) I told my Creative Writing class that I heard voices in my head the first day of school. No explanation needed on that one.

the week's been ok so far, I guess. I don't know, something about Monday. seemed like half the campus just got up, looked outside, saw that it was raining, and said "Fuck it, I'm going back to bed." it was nice and quite for once. don't count on many more days of that. this is college after all, where most exams are based on lectures given by the professors. what the hell is the point of text books then if we're just going to be tested on what comes out your mouth? shiet, save me some money so that I can use it to pay my tuition.

but enough of that. to the matter concerning the subject of this post. Monday morning while I was waiting for my carpool to come, I managed to catch Good Morning America as they were discussing this funeral protesting that seems to be going on. apparently, this small church is going around to funerals for soldiers who have been killed in Iraq protesting with signs and crap. but get this, they're not protesting about the war. they're protesting about the gays of the world. it is their belief that these brave soldiers died because of our acceptance of the homosexual citizens of the populace.

-sighs- where do I begin?

and pplz wonder why I make fun of the religious deities all the time. it's because their followers always pull this kind of crap. "I do this in the name of _________". BULL SHIT! I don't know about all of you, but it is my belief that the almighty beings that reside up there only want peace. the only thing these so called "religious freaks" are doing is creating more unnecessary conflict.

and to those idiotic protestors, if God was so against homosexuality, why would he allow it to carry on? isn't he all powerful? wouldn't he have the power to take care of the problem himself instead of letting his "minions" take care of it for him? he supposedly created the universe in a week so don't you think he'd be able to take care of a small number of people on this measily planet called Earth?

oh so I guess I was in this apartment building, I'm guessing Centry Towers over on Independence Ave cuz Brenda was there, among others. of all pplz, Spike was there [WTF???] and I guess we were just reminicing about things when all of a sudden he pulls out this ring and asks me to marry him. and what do I do? I say yes [WHAT THE HELL WAS I THINKING?!?!?!?!?].

to make a long story short, he only asked me to get back at me for all the "mean" things I did to him in high school. payback if you will. and it's not like I didn't see it coming. the entire time during the dream I had my suspicions about it too, mainly because of the fact that in real life he has a boyfriend [yes, he swings that way].

In the end you need to choose 5 people to be tagged and list their names.

1. Typing. There’s just something intoxicating to me about the feel of my fingers moving at lightning speed to type up pages upon pages of thoughts, stories, poems, etc. truth be told that’s the main reason why I spend so much time on the computer. Sometimes I just sit at the computer for hours on end typing in random things that pop up. It calms the voices in my head.

2. Icons. Tiny pictures of almost anything you can think of. Trust me, I’ve made enough of them to know. If it can be photographed it can be icon-ized. And sometimes they move too! Those are the best, especially when they have a nice catch phrase. I’ve been known to snatch a few when pplz clearly state that I shouldn’t. But what they don’t know won’t hurt them, right?

3. Backstreet Boys. In a time where rap, hip-hop, and rock rule the stage, it’s become “uncool” to affiliate yourself with what would be deemed a “boy band” especially now that the majority of the ones that existed during my high school days are no longer together. But no matter how old I am, I will always be a fan for however long they decide to make music, and I don‘t care who disagrees.

4. Coffee. Guilty pleasure because you would think the last thing a person like me would need is caffeine. And not just any kind of coffee. I’m only addicted to the kind I make at home. Regular coffee brewed by the coffee maker, but with just the right amount of sugar and milk [sometimes the creamer if it‘s available] all mixed nicely together in my mug I got at Quick Trip a few years ago. Tis heaven.

5. Yaoi. I don’t know. The thought of two hot anime guys just going at it together kind of amuses me. I’ve actually wrote a two sentence story concerning that subject that had me cracking up for at least 10 minutes. But it’s been a while since I’ve read a good story about it though. Oddly I’m saddened by that [I‘m pretty sure you don‘t care, you‘re probably wondering what those two sentences were].

I've come to realize that the time go by fast these days. what you once thought was plenty of time turns out to be not enough at all. I don't know. sounds like a lot of time wasted to me. we spend most of our lives trying to prepare for the future with school and promotions among other things. that's all fine and well. there's nothing wrong with making sure you and your loved ones are provided for.

but my problem with that our time is spent on something that's undetermined. what about now? with all that time you spent concerned about what was going to happen, there's nothing to look back on when you get there. we just don't spend enough time living for today. and I don't know about you but I'd like to think that we should change that.

but I'll tell you one thing: it won't be like that for much longer. it started when I changed my major last year. sure I had my doubts and expected that I'd change it again by the end of this semester. but thankfully I don't want to yet. I like writing. sure I have reservations about making my passion my work. I don't want to end up hating it [which is a possibility cuz eventually everyone starts hating work].

but I guess we'll see what happens. part of life is taking risks. and I guess I'm taking a really big one by taking a major that I have no idea what kind of job I could get with it. but we'll see. at the risk of sounding so cliche, only time will tell.

I don't know. but I do know that I feel like I'm really starting to pull my act together. at least that's how I feel. sure I still gotta work on the procrastination. but I've done more work this year than I did last year, that's for sure. I don't know what it is, but it makes me feel kinda...grown up. yeah, the thought of that scares me. and though I would give anything to stay young forever, it's not an option. so I guess I just gotta deal with what comes my way.

life is boring. I'm a bum. I've come to realize that. oh the aweful truth of it all. and apparently pplz like to yell at me. Okaasan just yelled at me a few minutes ago cuz I didn't understand that she said 'sugar' instead of 'salt' cuz she was speaking in Viet. so I'm not so good with understanding certain Viet words. things like "sugar" and "salt" are unimportant if you think about it. and in all honesty, when am I really going to have that problem when I live in America where they speak American English (have you ever notices how many variation of English there is in the world?).

I don't know. makes me think that I'm nothing but a natural screw-up. I can't seem to do anything right.

Oniichan proved that when I was living with him a few months ago. I tried to be a good roommate but he just had to complain about the fact that I shed everywhere. I can't help that I shed. it's a natural thing for a girl with long hair to do. it's not like I can tell my hair to stop doing that at will. the bad part about the whole situation is that mom expects me to stay with her most of the time since I'm her "date" instead of hanging with pplz my own age (namely my friends). she says that I'm an adult now and should start sitting with them instead of the "lil kids" even though those "kids" are only two or three years younger. what fun am I going to have with adults who are twice my age? WTF is she smoking?

she says that it's proper ettiquet to do things like that. oh, how I hate that word. who ever thought up of "proper ettiquet" needs to be shot, skinned, fried, hanged, and castrated (in no particular order). no one can be themselves when you conduct proper ettiquet.

she's making me wear a dress too. how I hate dresses. why must I be subjected thru such torture when all I wanna do is support my friend and have a little fun. I just hope that the groom has a set seating arrangement and that my seat is with my friends. I don't think mom can argue with the bride and her seating arrangement (at least I hope she doesn't).

and now that my uncle is coming over for a visit from VietNam, he wants to spend some time with all of us over here. I have not seen him since the summer of 1997. and while I agree that there's really nothing for a person in his condition (he's permanently on crutches) to do in Missouri it doesn't make what my Aunt is doing right.

my Aunt from Cali has agreed to take my "crippled" (sorry but I had to distingush my many Uncles & Aunts somehow) uncle from there to North Carolina, stopping at our house in Missouri along the way. while my uncle from VietNam is staying at her place and at my uncle's place in North Carolina for two weeks at each place, he will only be spending two days in good old KC.

why? cuz my aunt doesn't wanna stay here. apparently it's not good enough for her. the two days that she will be here, she will be visiting friends that she has here. in all honesty we only have one day with my VietNam uncle. they arrive on a Saturday and leave on a Tuesday.

what kind of bull shiet is that?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! WE'RE SUPPOSED TO BE FAMILY!!! -sighs- sometimes I wish that we could divorce some of them like we did my dad. I finally got an email from my advisor to come up to the school to meet with her so that I can finally get my schedule set for next semester.

oh! sorry about that. I just couldn't resist.

so I'm back from my trip to Cali, earlier than planned I might add. family drama will do that to you. all that I'm sure of is that we won't be going back there NE time soon. I know mom's never going back there. after the way my aunt acted I'm not sure I wanna go back either. but I have cousins there that I wanna keep in touch with. if I can find a way to see them without having to let my aunt know that I'm there then it'll be all good.

but whatever, I'm just glad to be back. being there with just my aunt is weird. cousin Christine had to go back to school cuz she had tests to study for. that kind of stuff you can't ask for days off so it was alright. and then mom had a falling out with cousin Thao so I couldn't hang out with her and her family (she's got a cute baby girl of 4 years and the baby's father, her current boyfriend of many years). it sucks when you wanna visit pplz but there's no way of avoiding other pplz there too.

well, I didn't get to go to San Diego cuz plans changed. met up with another aunt that lives in North Carolina but she was in Cali on a business trip. with cousin Christine gone back to her school in San Diego and cousin Thao unable to be around me without having to deal with my mom, things were a little boring. but it got better with Aunt Kim Anh there. she made things fun again. she was also the one who helped us get earlier flights back to KC for a good price.

but I did have fun before all this drama happened. Christine & Thao know how to show pplz around and have a good time. I think my favorite part was Knott's Berry Farm. it's a theme park that's much cheaper than DisneyLand. I think it's a little better than DisneyLand too cuz the lines weren't that long. just the perfect size too, not too big and not too small. the rides were awesome. me and Christine rode in the front of almost all of the rides. rode in the back of two of them too just to compare the experience.

note to self: front seats have better view, back seats have a narlier ride. I was whipping around back there and I couldn't ask for a better seat.

walked around Little Saigon too. there's like a dentist office on every block I swear. ate everything with chopsticks too to show my true Viet heritage. had to prove to mom somehow that I knew how to use them. but I'm not sure I liked seeing all those Viet pplz walking around. they were all typical thin asain girls and there I was feeling like a fat Missouri cow.

my aunt even made certain comments about my pudgy-ness. didn't like that. another reason I'd like to avoid her as much as I can. -shurgs- we all have family we can never be comfortable around. she's just one of them.

all in all a good time, but I don't think I'll be going back NE time soon. maybe when Thao gets her own place. that way I can avoid seeing my aunt. Moony is her American name. where she thought up that I've no clue but to each their own you know? well the screwed up part concerning that is the fact that my "friend" didn't bother to tell me that he had a new girl. and here I was thinking that maybe we could work things out and start over. I had to hear from someone who has no relations with this guy except through me.
