Just letting y'all know that I'm doing okay, though I haven't been very
productive art-wise lately. I've got some ideas in the works though.

I am really enjoying my classes, though I still don't feel at home
here yet. Grandma and I are gonna go shopping for lampshades, bedsheets,
curtains and maybe a rug for the room, to make it feel more like MY room.

Mn lessen zijn erg leuk, alhoewel ik geen tijd of energie overhoudt om heel erg

Well here's a new update from me, regarding the last week or so.

On Sunday, my grandma left for Italy, which means I have the house to myself. Which would be nice except that she has a REALLY big house, and I have to take care of everything. Water and fertilize the plants, feed the cat, scoop out the litter box every other day (yuck), clean the bathrooms if they get dirty, get the mail, play secretary, empty the garbage cans and put them on the curb... etc. Geez, slave much? XDDD Just kidding it's fine.

I went to the WOW introduction- that is, Week Of Welcome. I had to get up at 05:30 AM!!!
Argh. Sorry.
Anyway, getting there I walked around a bit, saw the sights, checked in, and waited.
Then we walked around to a lecture hall where a lady from the tutoring and stuff department explained a bunch of stuff. To wake us up, as she said, she asked us a series of questions regarding the required categories of subjects, namely, which subjects from which categories we had sampled in high school. If you answered quick enough, she threw a little plastic duck at you. As in to give it to you. Ducks happen to be the University of Oregon's mascot.
I got two ducks. A princess big one, and a basketball small one.

And then... placement tests. I took the math one (which went terrible) and a German one, which went so good they suggested I take the test to waive the two-year language requirement for the B.A. I decided not to; I want to study two other languages, for which I'll need room to study. Although that will cost more money.. >.< what would you do?
I'll probably have to do pre-college math. I suck.
Then I went to the health center to give them my immunization records, I went to the card office to get my student ID, and then.... I ate lunch.

Then it was time to talk to my adviser. She was a nice lady, who unfortunately did not know the answers to all my questions, and therefore had to ask other advisers. Oh brother.

In any case, I got a list of subjects I want to take this Fall. I only hope the places will be open by the time I get to sign up. I don't get to sign up until 11:30 am tomorrow morning. AFTER all the other students. >.>

Goed, en nou in 't Nederlands.

Zondag vertrok mijn oma, in wiens huis ik verblijf, naar Italië. Dat zou leuk zijn als ik niet al haar klusjes over zou moeten nemen; de planten binnen en buiten (ze heeft een HEEL erg groot huis, en heeeeeel veel planten) water en voeding geven, de kat voeren en zijn kattenbak om de dag uitmesten, de was, de afwas, het tapijt (wat de hele vloer in het hele huis bedekt) schoonmaken, de toiletten schoonmaken, de post ophalen, secretarisje spelen, etc etc etc. Ach ja, ik verblijf hier tenminste gratis XDD

En toen had ik vandaag (woensdag) de WOW week. Dit staat voor 'Week Of Welcome'. Dit is een introductie week van mijn Universiteit. Ik moest om half 6 opstaan om op tijd bij de bushalte te staan (mijn oma woont nogal ver van.... alles vandaan), en toen wachten tot de aanmelding van de cursus. Dat gebeurt liepen we met zn allen naar een grote collegezaal, waar we werden toegesproken door een hele enthousiaste dame die ons eendjes toegooide als we snel antwoordden, om ons wakker te houden XDDD. Eenden zijn de mascottes van de school. Ik heb er twee verdiend, een grote prinses- een een kleine basketbaleend.

En toen... toetsen. Deze waren in wiskunde en duits. Je kon deze toetsen optioneel doen om te kijken op welk niveau je de universiteit op komt, zodat ze bepaalde vakken kunnen aanraden boven anderen. Wiskunde ging zo slecht (amerikanen formuleren dingen heel anders >.< dat ik waarschijnlijk de vakken moet nemen die vóór de eerste universiteitsniveau vakken komen. Ik ben zo dom. Duits daarentegen ging zo goed, dat ze me aanraadden om de toets de doen die mijn twee-jarige taal-kwalificatie voor de B.A. (bachelor of arts) kan voldoen. And now I finally get my internet back!

I am still in a WHOLE lot of pain, with 3 cuts in my tummy, which hurt like hell. And I can't move very much 'cause all my muscles in my shoulders and around my lungs hurt because of the air they pumped in me and the unnatural position my body was in during and after surgery.

But at least I can talk to you guys again ^^

The more or less is because this is a computer at school. I will be able to answer to messages and be here occasionally, but I can't submit anything for a while.

Anyway, sorry for being gone so long..... but a lot has happened. First of all; school.

Then; ROME!!!!!!!
Rome was a 9-day school trip, but not a 'fun' trip, but a trip where we had to be dragged from place to place all day long, eat nothing but really hard buns for breakfast and really soft pasta for lunch, and 'learn' about stuff. Which basically gave the teachers an excuse to drone on for HOURS about one building or painting or another.
We saw about 30 churches. Yes 30. Don't get me wrong, churches are fine, and nice, and some were very pretty, but after a while we couldn't even remember what we saw in which church!
And we saw the cool stuff, like the coliseum (it's really really big! ), the pantheon, and the spectacular view from the new white Victor Emmanuel building (the building sucks, but the view is really REALLY cool). And of course Michelangelo's "Judgement Day" and "Sistene Chapel" (same room )

I took about 1400 pictures there. Unfortunately, I can't upload them yet, but as soon as I can, I will definately put the best ones here too


REALLY IMPORTANT: As I've been gone so long, I have TONS of messages. So I'm really very very very very very sorry, but anything before sept. 20 will not be read, because I simply don't have the time to read everything.

The vacation was really fun! We went to more places than just Copehagen though.... and I didn't make that many drawings.... AND I still have to work on them before I'm satisfied enough to put them up here. I will put them up, and LOTS of pictures (though they're bad quality 'cause we forgot the camera and had to take pics with my dad's PDA thingie )

But yeah... I'll post the drawings I did after I've coloured them.

I sort of expected what happened to happen. Some things in the middle were a surprise, but I just KNEW the doe was Snape... I KNEW he wasn't that bad....

I was sad that so many good people died...... especially Lupin and Tonks. Just after having their baby too........

Anyone want to comment on what their fave/least fave/most memorable/etc scene/chara/etc is? And why? Discussions are always fun (as long as they stay amicable).

Call me strange, but I really expected that Harry would come back and defeat Voldy, and I really avoided all spoilers up till I read the book.....

You see, here in Amsterdam, we're having a 'Gay Pride Parade', on the canals. Which means lots and lots and lots of boats with loud trance music and too many people on them. And lots of beer stands and dance/dj stages all over downtown. This lasts all weekend.
Needless to say, I had a lot of trouble getting to the tram home from work today. I had to literally wrestle my way through a bunch of hot, handsome, buff, tall, sweaty, shirtless, horny and dancing guys, of whom unfortunately 97% is gay, and the 3% that wasn't brought their girlfriends. WHY ME?!?!?! I finally get cute guys all around me, cheering and yelling their heads off, and smiling at me and stuff... and they're gay!

..... oh well, at least they get to have fun and be free all weekend... that's a really good thing. Seriously, gay guys (and gals) came from all over Europe to be here this weekend....

On another note: I FINALLY GOT THE NEW HARRY POTTER!!! Now I don't have to be afraid of spoilers anymore! (at least, after I read it I won't). And then I can get on reading my art magazines and books and stuff....

My mom and her partner went on vacation to France, and I didn't go with them, so now I am on my own for two weeks. My dad will come over sometimes of course, and there is the cat, and the few friends who didn't go on holiday, but still...

By the way, for anyone who's interested (not that anyone is gonna read this anyway) I've taken on a drawing project for myself. I hope I'll be motivated enough to do them, so far, I've done next to nothing. And when I DO draw it's something totally different.
Anyway, the project is; I'm gonna draw the 7 deadly sins and the 7 holy virtues. They come in pairs, so that's fun. I've already done envy... now all the others have got to be done.
