Status Report

I hate colds.

I can barely do anything without sneezing, needing to blow my nose, or fighting off this headache. I had a sleep before, and it kinda helped. Kinda. But oh well.

Epic Rant

Also, Mum's forcing me to go to some study skills thing on the weekend. I have better ways of spending a sunday, like, yknow, STUDYING? Last year it didn't help at all - my method of studying is not making mind maps and flow fucking charts. My way of studying is to actually do it, not sit there planning for days for what page I read in the book. And this year's courses are all fucked up, so of course I'm doing badly. Physics was impossible (SIDE is bad), Maths 3A had so many fuckups (we got the books late, and mum kept forgetting to order my supplementary book and calculator, that should have been done when she ordered all of Jesse's crap) and Media... well, we have a teacher that can't speak English (he's Kenyan), has no idea about today's technology (he has issues using the school-supplied MacBook - and I don't think he knows what a machinima is either, so Jordan and I will most likely fail the next task). English is delving more and more into the symbolism crap (IT'S A GUY ON A TRAIN, NOTHING ELSE), AIT is just a plain joke (Uni entry level Applied Information Technology = mobile phone themes and basic computer stuff, like what a CPU does and why 64 bit is better than 32bit. No "how it works", only what it is. The kid that got the achievement award looks up soccer in classtime and honestly believed you used RAM to store MUSIC AND MOVIES. THE FUCK. Hello, programmer here! I could probably reorganise the school network better than your current IT guy!).

But oh well. We have a Physics teacher now, Hugh and I doing 3A math dropped to 2B after SIDE cancelled the course (lack of students, they all dropped out) and sent us 3B Specialist work instead, our major AIT task is a mobile theme (so I'm whipping out the Winterboard skillz) which will be easy, English is getting worse (movie analysis - on a movie about a retarded kid and another with bad acting about an escaped prisoner and a kid going to Darwin) and Media is getting more and more jokish (our major task has to be filmed IN OUR OWN TIME. THE FUCK). But oh well. I'll live. I think.

sykie feels down. oh well.

school's starting on tuesday. don't want it to come. halfway through the month without my parents. i really don't want them to come back. i like the freedom and peace. ah well.

Meanwhile, on the Tarthie side of things, I've realised how little I've done these holidays. Being used to interruptions has made my work schedules very short lived, so I never bother to make them. I wish I had these holidays, I would have got fuckloads done.

PS: Also, dAmn doesn't work for me. So I won't be on til it's fixed D:.

I mostly followed

around (she had epic hair and dress too. It was shineh). The songs were okay, but the most WTF moment was when they played "I Kissed a Girl" for ballroom dancing.

Aaaaand, my computer is also win. It glows. I just need something to test it out - as of now the most demanding game I have is CoD4.

Today I was sick, also. Felt horrible in the morning, had some seriously screwed up dreams and slept in til 2pm. I currently feel like I need to smash my head into something.

Over the weekend, my harddrive somehow corrupted itself (I think I uncleanly shut it down while it was updating or something).

I lost everything I had done in the past two months. An Applied Information Technology assignment, a ton of writing, a lot of photos and my precious emails.

Luckily, I had the XP restore disk and am now on a fresh copy of XP. Yay.

I've got my job hours worked out, a new PS3, about to buy Call of Duty 4. Got some movies, ripped them and put them on my Touch. About to go back to my tech job, rolling my own Linux distro (later) and running Fedora.

-I'm sleeping on a lowered table and couch thing in a caravan in Darwin.
- My family are generally annoyed at me and refuse to act civilly towards me.
- I have NO privacy and secudedyness, I can't watch a video on my Eee without getting bothered or asked what it is or told to turn it off.
- It's raining.
- I have to fit all my tech into a tiny cupboard.
- Family are generally excluding me - whilst I type, they are at the pub, and I'm not, because I LOOKED TIRED.
- Sleeping is horrible when your makeshift bed is a foot and a half shorter than you and it's almost a hundred degrees farenheit at night.
- The pool is all chlorined and salted and tastes bad.
- I'm not allowed to buy a game console (because my wierd parents deem that ANYTHING hooked up to our big TV HAS to be thiers (excluding my brother's PS2, of course) so that I cannot deny my brother the use of hardware that cost in excess of seven hundred dollars.
- It's still raining.
- The iceypoles in the fridge are not icey, as the fridge is at room temperature. Real fucking handy.
- Theres nothing to take piccys of.
- My parents are bad parents and instead rely on ME to look after my baby sister. They haven't heard of the fact that I have better things to do than look after a baby 24/7.
- It's hot.

But, I did buy about $250 of games and DVD's and stuff, and for my birthday (finally) I got a external CD/DVD drive and a extra GB of RAM for my Eee.

Well... should be back before new year... and hopefully before Fi goes to Perth.
