Hey, its been awhile since I've done anything with my artwork, heck even being on alone

So a good kick start back doin my work, am asking you my friends to take part in a collaboration with one of my pieces.

First off take a gander at [link] then consider some ideas. I am looking for some digital composition to suit the motif of the piece. Could be fractal, or bryce, or a digital landscape, or anything else that you can think of.

As it stands right now it has a various of mediums, pencil, pencil crayon, ink.

Artwork meaning, Cryogenic Genesis:

In the beginning there was darkness, a void. A place of no colour, no style, no meaning. God saw the void, and created the unlimitness expression of visual art. And it was good.

Well finally! I'm home... well I've been home since July 9th Anyways, I also finally got around to scanning some photos I had taken. Yes you heard right. Scan, and not download from a digicam

Considering, I reallly don't have the cash to buy a digicam, and well only had one option otherwise. But there are advantages to using a manual camera that people now of days take for granted. One being, the effort setting up a scene/shot, film speed, shutter speed, depth, prospective, how much light to expose a shot. Instead of point and click. For most, digicams is the way to go, simply becoz its easier and doesn't take any photojournalism knowhow to use.

Okay, well. Um aside from using my 30yr old cannon camera. I didn't however record which shot has a specific setting. Mainly because the only malfunctioning component is the shot counter. Plus didn't make a journal of the shots to know which is which. Mainly just didn't have enough time between some shots as to I took a lot while being a passenger in a van. I do recall some shots, but not all of them. So bear with me, theres a lot of photos. Twenty at most maybe. I took eight rolls of film but don't worry didn't scan them all

I will have a short synopsis on some of them of course to say where the shot had been taken. So sit back and enjoy

EDIT: On most of the photos, if it just says 'June' or 'July' without a specific date, is coz i cant remember which day it was. But keep in mind shots vary from June 19th to July 9th.

What it is simply, take a sentence and reword it enough times that you run out of combinations of how to phrase that one sentence. Once you figure out how many times you can do with all the words, take one word off and go again re-organising.

I am sick of being here in Prince Rupert BC with nothing to do for almost a week. Granted we had our July 1st party but since then there has been jack-all to do. Other than lounge about. Have gone to the pubs the past few nights to be back where I could at least feel almost like being back at home. But by nights end, it just got depressing because even though there were countless cute girls to, heh hit on; i knew i was goin home alone. We dont leave here till Tuesday and will still take upto Thursday to get back to Calgary (driving), and the flight home is Friday. I'd be happier if we left today, hell even tomorrow but nooo

Its not just the loneliness thats bothering me, its heh well my computer (goin through something kinda major with Diablo 2 withdrawl) and well listening to my own music rather than this streamed stuff through shoutcast. Amoung other things like making my own music, and my digital artwork. However, I'll have hordes of photos to develope. I'm upto 5 rolls to be developed. Im just hoping all of them turn out good since they are taken with my old cannon (manual) camera.

Funny thing is, I actually miss work. how odd is that eh?

Well, here I sit at my Aunt Mary's computer lounging about after a glorious day. Got pretty warm, 35* C (without humidity), bonus so it doesnt feel like 40 something. Phew!

We arrived in Calgary Alberta at like 11am EST, or 10am Central. Got ourn rental mino-van and drove of to have lunch in Banff. In the Banff Springs Hotel...which is more like a castle or just a really big classy mansion. Afterwards, headed up to see Lake Louise (which is apparently a very famous lake). Didn't stay long though as to we were coming back that way near the end of our trip. So onward we go through the Canadian Rockies or aka Rodgers Pass. I tell ya, if you've ever seen those ZoomZoom commercials for Mazda...driving through the mountains would remind you of that commercial. Being able to see a 5000 foot drop off and twist and curves in the road to make you dizzy. I was actually quite parenoid becoz its such a dangerous area of the road. But, we arrived in Kelowna BC all intact at 12pm EST, 11pm Central, 10pm Pacific.

It is absolutly gorgious out here. I've never been in a mountain range, hell or even driving through a mountain pass. Was quite astonishing. And the weather here couldnt be any better. I might never leave lol well only if I could find like a 15$ an hour job lol. Soooo its unlikely, and gunna hafta bear goin back to home

Anyways, just finished our day with a swim and a hot tub sit. And I am just in my heaven now. Earlier in the day, was at my counsin Walter's place waiting for his girl to get off work.. well he toked up and i took like 6 puffs. Well.... uhm since this is BC and it is the finest place to get weed I was stunned, coz after 6 puffs i was baked out of my mind, so much I lost vision for a short while and then made a nice little wet decoration in the porch bucket. THEN I got my buzz and my mellow time. I can still feel a lite buzz over my noggin from time to time but its more like a brain massage. Having the swim and hot tub later.... ohhh that was just afterwards.

Before I bolt, I may have some vacation shots before Thursday (since we leave that day to drive for 2 days up towards Prince Rupert) of some shots I did with my manual camera. My only hope is that most of them turn out, because I was doin 1 full second exposure shots with a fair bit of light. In addition, I got the family shakes, my hands just shake lightly something I cant help. Strange really. I can draw a straight line in my sketch book but when it comes to holding my camera I struggle to find a calm second to take a snap shot. Sooner or later I gotta invest gettin a desktop tripod.

Anywas, think thats it for now. Off to have a beer and a cig, and I'll pop by the SB later if anyone is on. Btw its now 10:50pm Pacific, 1:50am EST.

yay! its a mere 12 hours left before I'm gone on vacation for 3 weeks!

As I was doing some errands today, went to look for some black and white film... Well there were two versions, True B&W which would need to be sent out to be developed. And thats like 20$ so eeeh no thanks. And the other version, which can be done anywhere, has a bit of colour tint to it so it looks more grayish.. sooo meh had to stick to colour. Although, if some of my pics turn out pretty good (since i am using a manual camera) I just may scan and invert to a gray scale. Cheaper that way

I'll give a stop by the Shout Box when I'm at my aunt's place in Kelowna where we are stayin the first week. So I bid you adue and farewell to thee.

In the mist of castle ruin stands a knight lost in the forgotten battle. He roams the land Olde in the stars of the setting sun, trying to find his way. All that he loved and cared for was destroyed by forces unknown.
With destruction, came rage and fear that he will never find a true love again. He fights blindly into the night warding off dragons and beastly hoards. But none of which he fights brings back his heart.

The heart he once had was broken seven times over, by the falling sky. As he stands alone in the vast lands of Olde, he has become the Lost Knight. Untamed by beast or shadow, he fights his way to survive the next day.

In his days of wondering, he comes upon a town of Drial, the place of his first day. Standing above the town on a hill that peers over, he glaces down to see what he had feared the worst. It was the force that had destroyed is heart.

He gallantly draws his sword and bellows into the light of day toward this beastly sight. He approaches the largest beast ever known to him, the Dark Eyed Mantra. This beast was the immense dragon of all shadows of the lands of Olde.

A woman screams at the ghastly sight and faints where she stands, the Mantra moves to her. The Lost Knight blazes in front of the beast, he gathers up all the strength he has left.For a moment, he gathers up all the hate, all the anguish and all the love that he holds dear to him.

And with a stroke with his blade, he whipped the dragon down like lightning. The beastly hoard that took the lives the Lost Knight once lived with, now falls into its own destruction. The lands of Olde now can go on in peace.

The Lost Knight kneels before the fair lady that lay feared of the beast. As he gazes into her eyes, he gracefully helps the mistress up to her feet. After all the shadows, the one thing that he failed to accomplish, was to win the heart of a lady.

The fair maiden says to him as she is lost in his eyes "Would thou stay?" He stares into her eyes, but he knows he cannot stay until he finds himself again. The Lost Knight turns from her and dashes back into the lands of Olde, disappearing in the mist.

...Until he finds his heart once again, he is the Lost Knight.

When it comes to computers, I love working with 3Dimensional objects. Plus Adobe photoshop is one of my bestest friends. I've constructed some of the most dazzling imagery from skratch using photoshop (which will come at a later date to show y'all). Inaddition, I love to remix family and friend's photos, respectfully that is. So I took a gander, then realised that Deviantart was a free, or semifree, company allowing people to get their freelance art into the world at little to no cost of said artist. Quite ironic actually, I've been trying to find such a company as this and well vio la!

So be prepared to jump into my mind, please don't mind the mess. Just a little bit of background should be in order.

I took visual arts in high school for five years. heh, and that seems like eons ago (grad of 97, but stayed for last year which was grd 13 or OAC). Then I attended college in 1998, only to fail to my misfortune. I really didn't apply myself, too much fun! hehe. Well, the time that I did get in college, did learn a few basics and or Intermediate on some programs. Such as Macromedia Director (my knowledge on that has gone down the toilet). Adobe Photoshop. And a variety of other progs, that fail to come to mind.

My main medium before computerized art is my sketchbook and a pencil. I have done a few paintings in Acrylic, pencil, and pencil crayon (with much effort for the time). A lot of people don't realise the potiental that can be done with pencil crayon, which soon enough I will post some of my best works with that medium. As well as my pride and joy, one of my paintings that was displayed in my local art gallery in my last year of high school. It was for the London High School Art Exhibition. I was quite proud to say the least, displayed to the public for a good two weeks. Sadly however, back then I couldnt afford/keep the frame it was put in for that even. I suppose eventually when I have, heh less bills (if there is ever such a thing) to reframe it.

Well, enjoy my first submition (What My Mind Really Looks Like). I shall see thee again.
