Oh man! Again about a great book I had to read for school.
But now don't think that we just read good books in school... just "Michael Kohlhaas" proves the opposite (I really do hate Kohlhaas and am so looking forward to next wednesday when we finally are done with him after a quarter of a year!).

Well, comming back to the subject of Dürrenmatt. He's a writer who I really like. I read "The Physicians" (twice in a single afternoon) then I listened to "The Mission of the Vega" and now I had to read for my German class "Der Verdacht" ("The Quarry" or "Suspicion"). The other class is reading "The Visit" ("Der Besuch der alten Dame").

Well, I have to admit that the begin was a bit stressful, because there's not much action, because the protagonist (Bärlach, a "Kommissär" what means something like a superintendent) is just lying in his bed in the hospital in Bern and talks to his doctor. The conversations are about a picture of an SS Doctor who operated without narcosis and that Hungertobel (Bärlach's doctor) mistakes this SS doctor called Nehle for his former fellow student Emmenberger (who , however, seemed to be in Chile in those days). And so Bärlach thinks, that Hungertobel is not making a mistake but that it was Emmenberger's case-hardened plan.
But it doens't take too long until there's more action.

And so Bärlach gets in enourmus danger by his own will and is shortly before being killed, when something the reader doesn't see comming happens.

This novel is really like Dürrenmatt. He's as sarcastic or just funny as always and simultaneously very dark and gloomy.
Funny e.g. when Bärlach receives a visit by a creepy guy calling himself Gulliver in the middle of the night. He drinks two bottles of Vodka with him and interrogates him in the case Nehle, because Gulliver is a Jew and had been in several concentration camps, also in Stutthof where Nehle had been. One can imagine how drunk Bärlach must be when he starts singing the Bernese March veery loud. On the next noon Hungertobel comes to him and says, that there's no other possibility than that Bärlach was alcohol intoxicated, but that that's impossible. And in the doctor's naive bewilderness lies the funny thing. Oh I have laughed so much!
And dark, when Bärlach talks to Emmenberger, lying in such an unfriendly absolutely sterile room and Emmenberger tells him about his philosophy and shows him what he's going to do with Bärlach.
And during the second half of the book it's nearly impossible to put it away.

Sooo~ if this book's available in your language (or in English, I don't know if it is) go and read it!
And the Physicians also. Einstein and Newton are so cool!

Er, yes. Didn't planned this to come out so long, but it's such a great novel by such a great writer.

Well, well, well...
So after my summer vacances the school started today. And Just five minutes there and I feel as if I never had 7 weeks of free time.
And on top this year will probably become the most stressing, because in April I'll have to sit the exams for my Abitur (A-levels or something like that). My subjects will be: Maths, German, English and Art (At least it's better than French xD).
So tadoy in my English lesson we started reading one of the short stories which will be a question in the A-lavel exam... and this stupid guy is called Hanry Price. But there was a Henry Pierce in another relevant short story... such a mess!
And Maths... well, stuff like differentiating functions, find the antiderivative and calculating an integral, so just repetition, but it's hard enough to memorize all that useless stuff!
Physics was also pretty useless, we derived a formular we won't need anymore, stupid harmonic vibrations.
And in Geography the demographic changes in Germany... again.
Well and then there was art. We talked about the exams and then watch a film about Louise Bourgeois (and I think that I'm traumatised now... all those.. pictures! And sculptures...!)
Oh I'm so looking foreward to the rest of the week!

But hey, I'll get used to it again pretty soon. And I can drive my Daddy's car, this complete awesome VW Polo <3
And afterwards: No school anymore

So I passed this weekend with a friend and some of her friend at a mountain pasture close to Austria.
She celebrated her birthday there and it really looks like the place where Heidi lives (okay, the alp is about 200 years old). So we had no running water and no electricity, but we could hear music nontheless thanks to the boys who came from Hamburg)
It was such a fun!
Even when we went there by car and were caught in a traffic jam... so what? open the windows and turn up the music...
Yeah and we were hiking to a waterfall, where we took a bath (it was soo cold!).
And then we barbecued...
After that the party started... (Vodka, Martini, Gin, wine, etc... the German youth, oh man!)
and at about six o'clock we sang "Wir feiern die ganze Nacht!" (We'll celebrate for the whole night!) but it was still bright day...
So at midnight we went to bed (even if we could not believe it xD Usually that's the time when the party starts)
But at the next day we could get up pretty early (9 o'clock) so we had breakfast, tidied up and chilled in the sun.
Man, it was so great!

I want to do that again! Who cares for not existing running water, electricity and toilets? xD

Gosh, I'm so glad we won against Austria yesterday!
Although the team hadn't been as good as they used to be. Well, at least they were better as when they playd against Croatia. Man, I was shocked when I sat at the public viewing and they lost!
So now if everything turns out right against Portugal and the Croats win against the Turks we will have our revenge at the semifinal!

I'm looking forward to thursday. Portugal, we can't lose!
