If you bend yourself instead of the spoon, do you fold yourself instead of the paper?
Well, I've been doing a bit of origami mixed with jewelry. The origami rose has me horribly mangled, cradling the little shreds of paper that survived. Needless to say I haven't mastered it yet. But I made a necklace/earring set of origami strawberries today and I will try to get that up here soon. I've also been doing a unique little assembly of cubes. I haven't made any necklaces yet, but I've done a couple pairs of earrings. They're pretty easy to make. I will, as always, continue to submit poetry and prose sporadically, as school is back in session and I am still a terrible procrastinator. I might even attempt a song or two again. Point is, I'll try to be on as much as possible and interact a lot more. I miss all you wonderful people who have responded so kindly and intelligently to my work, and encouraged all my insanities. And I miss our playful banter about things like devouring words and what they would taste like. I miss you all, and I will be returning soon! In the meantime, I wish everyone survival, as school is (at least for most) either already in session, or starting up soon. Eat words, the lot of you!
Dictionaries and an abundance of paper to all.
- Recko

Well, I've been out of the Deviant loop for a while... it's gonna take a while to catch up on everything, but I'm going to be writing and submitting a lot more. Take a look at Flourish, Previously With a Crowbar, Ars Poetica, Senility, Adonis, The Minotaur and Theseus, and Portrait as a Garnet for examples of the work I've been doing. I plan on writing many more poems in the next week, and, with luck, after that as well. I've also got a flower and random object painting to put up, but I don't have access to my scanner at the moment, so that might take a while.
So, cause for happy word? Well, I'm living in a new house that I and as of yesterday I have cable TV and wireless connection! And my dad got me this linen mosquito-net-style canopy for my bed and it has shells 'round the top
And I've got a new laptop; this one! It's faster than my old one by a helluva lot and it has 3D games in addition to the regular ones. And my dad got a flatscreen TV
Yes, things are looking up, and it's not even Christmas yet. I'll be in Florida. Ooh, and last time I was in Florida for Christmas we saw a bear wandering down the road on the way to whatever service they have on Christmas in whatever church we went to. Blah, I played around with the candlewax most of the time and ate peppermints and thought of the bear. And I was revelling in being old enough to dress myself. I take it for granted, but when I'm with younger cousins it starts to mean something. Something like the fact that I can wear something that actually fits in the right places, isn't itchy, etc, and actually looks goodish! Y'all know what I'm talking about. Those dresses that poof and itch and rustle all the time, and stick to your tights... Yeah, so I wish you a merry Xmas with lost of self-dressing!

Soooo much better than MadLibs, but kinda the same principle. Anyone who's read Twilight by Stephenie Meyer knows who these characters are, but I think it'd be amusing known characters or not. I'm having a helluva lot of fun with them and I wish it on everyone, so try it out! [link]
---------------
Brilliant Love

Edward finished packing. Ever since Bella, his own true love, had been lost at sea, Edward had been amusing.

There was nothing left for him anymore, nothing twisted him, all was engaging. So today, Valentine's Day, he was going up a tree to become an ecstatic descendant.

Just then, there was a suicidal knock at the door. Edward opened it and stood there fussily for a moment, before falling to the floor in a swoon and bruising his calf.

When Edward came to, Bella was holding his wrist and looking corrosive. "My love," Bella said personally, "I'm sorry for the false shock. I've been shipwrecked on a predictable island for the last ten years, living like a bird devouring the ocean. I was only rescued last week." She paused. "I lost my neck in the wreck. Can you still love me?"

Edward could hardly believe his Bella had returned. "I will always love you, neck or no neck. Besides, you can cover it up with a fissure."

They embraced eagerly and vowed to never be parted again.

And all was demolished.
------------------------

The Battle For The Bluebell

Off a cliff, Hoe slurped his bluebell. He had been busy with the bluebell for hours and now wanted nothing more than an indecent cuddle or a seductive massage from his lover Matt.

He said this last thought out loud, and all of a sudden his admirable Matt appeared at the door, grinning emphatically.

"Put down the bluebell," Matt said spastically. "Unless you want me to slurp that bluebell on your thigh."

Hoe put down the bluebell. He was businesslike. He had never seen Matt so excruciating before and it made him tropical.

Matt picked up the bluebell, then withdrew an exposure from his lip. "Don't be so businesslike," Matt said with an excruciating grimace. "A turkey bit my waist this morning, and everything became bleary. Now with this bluebell and this exposure I can spastically rule the world!"

Hoe clutched his haughty waist noisily. This was his lover, his admirable Matt, now staring at him with an excruciating lip.

"Fight it!" Hoe shouted. "The turkey just wants the bluebell for his own admirable devices! He doesn't love you, not the indecent way I do!"

Hoe could see Matt trembling noisily. Hoe reached out his thigh and touched Matt's lip spastically. He was admirable, so admirable, but he knew only his haughty love for Matt would break the turkey's spell.

Sure enough, Matt dropped the bluebell with a thunk. "Oh, Hoe," he squealed. "I'm so indecent, can you ever forgive me?"

But Hoe had already moved off a cliff. Like Modest Mouse on a lilac-strewn curtain, he pressed his thigh into Matt's lip. And as they fell together in a bleary fit of love, the bluebell lay on the floor, tropical and forgotten.
---------------

Orgasmically Tripping

Hoe tripped along emphatically. He was on his way to meet his lover, Matt, for Valentine's Day. He smiled to see a turkey hopping along, carrying an exposure in its mouth.

Hoe was almost off a cliff when he came across an excruciating cake, lying alone on an intense plate. "That must be a treat from my haughty bear," he said to himself, and tripped over to it. The cake looked businesslike, so he ate it.

It gave him the most bleary tingling sensation in his thigh. "How unusual!" he said and continued tripping to see Matt.

When Matt came out to meet him, he took one look and fell over.

"What is it?" Hoe cried spastically.

"Your waist! And your lip!" Matt said. "They're seductive! Can't you feel it?"

Hoe felt his waist and his lip. They were indeed quite seductive. "Oh, no!" Hoe said. "I'm a woman!" He, or rather, she started to cry. "It must have been that excruciating cake you left for me. Did you know what it would do?"

"I didn't leave you any cake," Matt said. "I got you a bluebell. It must have been that tropical man who lives nearby. He acts a little noisily, ever since he slurped a futon."

"But how can you ever love me, now that I'm a woman?" Hoe sobbed.

"Well, I never knew how to tell you this,...

Ya know that 100 Theme thing that's causing a flurry of excitement? Well, I thought it would be fun to do that with listing the tastes of words... if this is just super lame to you then tell me and I'll get rid of it, but if ya wanna do it, have at it when you're bored, and enjoy! Sadly I have no prizes, but I might dedicate a poem to the winner!
I'll list the words soon, and they'll be on this here journal that you're looking at!

To enter:
you've gotta have read "If Words Had Lips" and the comments, to get the gist of what you're saying about the words. Other than that, just have fun! And ya don't have to know the words, just decided how they'd taste!

Soo then... TEH WORDZ!
And I adoreses your art
Damn but it's cold in here... my nose feels like it's been stuck in a freezer, and I've got goosebumps. But! Working with porcelain is going well. Ish. I overworked the clay on one bowl, and today I almost trimmed through the wall of one. THE WALL! If anything, I trim through the base. Not so today. But I managed to save it, although the walls are thin. And for the rest of the bowls I've made, I've gotten better at being fast and efficient without the perfectionism or the clumsiness that comes with them. Yay for that. So now, even if I go back to using stoneware, I'll make better use of my time by not spending unnecessary amounts of time on one piece.
I've gotta say, I love trimming. The feel of the clay being smoothed under your hands, and the fun of watching the little shavings curl into awesome-shaped ringlets and curls.
You know those chocolate shavings they put on top of fancy desserts? It's much like that, which gets me thinking... would it be possible to make bowls and stuff out of chocolate instead of clay, still using the wheel? Hell, that'd be so kickass. I really wanna try it now.
Anyway, back to porcelain, it's even BETTER to trim cause it doesn't have near as much sand and it's sooooo friggin smooth. And I'll be selecting my favorite pieces and getting pictures of them to submit soon!

Aaaaa! I think there's a history thing due today and I don't have it, so I'm freaking out. It wouldn't be so bad, but it's a group project! Fuck! Well, I hope it's not really today. Friday would be convenient. Please let it be Friday! Ew, and I've got makeup chemistry work to do. Icky. I don't understand the whole mole-gram conversion stuff. But I can balance equations way better now at least. Anyway, on to more important matters like DA, thanks so much to everyone who looked at my page, cause now I've surpassed 700 page views and that makes me happy. Also, thanks so much to everyone watching me, it's a real confidence booster
Ah, watches do make me happy. So! To all of you who are reading this, check out the people watching me cause they're cooooool. And so are the people I'm watching, but I dunno if you can see who I'm watching. Hm. I'll have to find out.
Ooh! And for the sake of things random that make me happy, I'M WORKING WITH PORCELAIN IN CLAY CLASS! Wooooo! That's pretty cool to me cause everyone uses stoneware, and I think I'm the only one using something else! I haven't had enough time to try it out yet, but I will tomorrow!

So, the question mentioned in the journal title is:
Should I get pictures of my pots/bowls/plates/vases/etc that I make in clay and post them here? Or should I stick with drawings and poetry? Tell me what you think!

Well I'm gonna start drawing again. The very tiny amount of skill I had on it has probably fled by now, but I'll try to get it back. I'm getting to an acute point of jealousy every time I see DV's kickass drawings, and it's spurring me on.
I was drawing random things on lined paper yesterday, and it bled through cause I drew it in Sharpie, but it didn't bleed enough to recognize most of the stuff except for the colors I had used, so I started tracing random patterns on it and came up with a drawing of a girl "hiding", looking over some random guy's shoulder. I've named it &#039rotection'. It looks kinda retarded the more I look at it cause the guy's head is kinda too small and he looks liek if he flexes he'll rip his shirt in half or soemthing, but oh well, it's my first semi-successful drawing in a while so I'm happy... sorta. I'll be happier when I can draw things successfully (without the semi on the front).

But hey, yesterday I managed to hook my computer up to the internet, and sifted through my poems for the ones I'd been meaning to submit. And now they're submitted, so yea! And I've got Nerds, which is bliss-in-a-box for those of you who don't know. And tomorrow's Friday, which is good. I just wish weekends were longer. I wonder if, even in the face of a shitload of wonderful things, one would still get to the point of wishing for something else. I think so, probably, and even someone who has everything might wish to become someone who's lost everything, so that they could appreciate their previous wealth. It's funny to think that it's so easy to do away with wealth and posessions, but it's so much harder to gain them. Weird. Guess I'm in one of them thoughtful moods again.

But it was fun... really cool buildings there and the language is different than in other parts of Spain, so that was cool. I got together with a friend yesterday and we went shopping and stuff, and we fought over who paid for stuff... I won most of it.. ha! Just like old times. There's a scanner here but I don't think it works so if I don't post anything new for a while that's why. And then I got into the crayon-melting stuff, which is quite fun, but I'm not sure what I'm gonna do now, so today is my idling-around-and-browsing-through-junk-in-an-attempt-to-find-something-new-to-do day. Mayhap it'll work.

Mkay! So I survived exams! Yo, ask Allyalbino if ya don't believe me, but history was a bitch! Anyway, I ended up grabbing some watercolors, and after being an idiot and almost mixing them with oils, I painted some float-y tree things... kinda Hitch-hiker's Guide to the Galaxy-esque patches of earth that they're zooming around on, but yeah... so I'll put that up later sometime, if my mom stops attaching herself leech-like to the computer for work. But yes.. GARGOYLES! Mhm, 'at's what I'm painting next! Get excited!!!

This weekend I hope to find some white acrylic paint somewhere. I've got a few other colors, but I really wanna paint, and they're all primary colors! So now I have to find white to get the colors I want. And maybe I'll actually have time this weekend, seeing as last was devoted to sleeping. Hm... I think I'll paint something complex with lots of absurd little critters peeking out from behind mushrooms and inflatable ducky innertubes or something. I kinda want to paint a ferret as well though.. maybe a ferret staring at un-popping bubbles that are caught in a tree. Gah, now I'm torn between two different things. I'll have to settle for one next weekend instead... BUT!!! School is almost out! So I'll have more time! *breathless laughter bordering on hysterical* Yeah, I've got exams next week, so if I wake up after having subconsciously painted a tragic scene in which students are being massacred by their backpacks and textbooks are patrolling the hallways wielding staplers, you'll know why. But with luck my paintings will be strange yet devoid of scholastic carnage.
Hasta la proxima deviacion,

After about a year of obsessive DA browsing, I finally decided to make an account... I'm hoping to motivate myself to spend more time on creative activities, but I'm such a procrastinator, so it might take me a while to actually submit anything.
About me (in the way of art anyway. I won't bore anyone with anything else):
I adore random things! My dream is to become a writer... fantasy/fiction is what I love best. I'm obsessed with paint; I love mixing acrylics and admiring the contrast in colors before they're fully mixed. My passion is all things creative, they make me happy, and with them I don't feel the oppression and out-of-it-ness that much of the teenage population I'm around seems to exude. I take tap, ballet, and jazz, and they sometimes influence my random sketches. I make bead animals (3D for the most part) and I'm experimenting with a bead loom at present. I love making up random symbols/designs, and made up words are my life-source, as is music, though i'm not at all gifted in the latter. So yup yup, that's me.
