Expect major droughts of emptiness between floods of stuff, because I have not drawn anything ever. Ceramics is my main art form now and I'm currently working on perfecting a style of throwing that gets the clay really thin (the old guys in the vid got down to 1/18 of an inch.)

However, if I ever get to a point of doing anything artsy with it, I've been playing a game called dwarf fortress a lot recently, and it allows for tons of creativity. So if it happens expect near ASCII (I got a tileset thank god) pics with long descriptions telling the context. It's not that huge of a deal, I just went to the page after months of going without maya. But it's really nice having the program available to have the occasional "on-a-whim" or a "work-on-once-every-other-month" projects.

It also would not be a big deal if there weren't so many digits in Maya's price tag... (2010 version retails for $4,090)

Anyways, just wanted to complain a bit about this aspect of my life. If you can't tell my anger meter on this subject hovers between mildly annoyed to frustratingly disappointed.

I began thinking about this question, going through the various art forms that I have attempted during my time at school. I realized that over the past few years, I have grown to hate drawing.

For the past two years or so, drawing has been almost always painful. I still value the art, I just don't have passion in it anymore.

This is partly because my passion has shifted to ceramics. I will be taking pictures of several pieces I have done over the 3 years I have been in the class and uploading them. I will also eventually upload drawings that I have produced since the scanner died.

But not forcing myself to draw is a major relief to me, I wish to have your support in this and hope for a change for the better in my gallery.

Anyways, I just want you to know that I'm not dead or anything, just the drawer in me. I go off to find my camera.

I hope winter was fun, for those living in America I hope you enjoyed the snow/cold weather (Arizona was down to 60 degrees) As for people who don't know, pretty much the states got a country wide blizzard.

I'm sorry I haven't updated in a while, I updated windows recently, and that made the computer kick the driver that runs my scanner away. And since vista (hiss) came out, the company took the particular driver off their download page.

I don't blame it solely on this though, I haven't drawn much worth showing recently, so there isn't much of an urge to find a power cord for another scanner that we have.

Anyways, happy holidays... which really athiests shouldn't call anything a holiday because its derived from holy day, which implies religion, which means that there is a God.

Just blew your "Oh there's no God" stuff out of the water huh? Lol, I jest, I have no quarrels with you... quarrels sounds like squirrels... neat.

The show is just about the worst thing that I have ever seen, that includes Barney. The first time I watched it, I admit, I nerded out, freaking over little differences. After that, I watched it as a seperate story, and with the mind set of:"Would I watch this without the books?"

No... Simply no.

Now, to nerd out. The TV show only loosly bases itself on the book (since its only the first book it's based on.) But this can be expected, any change in medium requires different tools to tell the story.

BUT! This dosent mean that vital parts of the story can be skipped or brutaly altered to the point that it has been.

Also, about the "Would I watch this?" bit. The acting, script writing and special effects are all so, so terrible. The show requires simply to much closure on our part. (Closure: Filling the blanks)

And it as heavily depends on Deus Ex Machina like a disabled person depends on a wheelchair (sorry for any offended, couldnt come up with anything better) (Deus Ex Machina: Things impossibly lining up so perfectly that it hurts)

I made a deal with my parents so that I get to build my own computer for christmas to make up for the fact that essentialy, my parents skipped my birthday.
And no, I have not gone very far with the webcomic idea of mine. The webcomic dosent fit comic arts class that well. People didnt really get the jokes.
School has been going great. For the first time in years I've had all A's and B's. Its truly amazing how little homework you have when you dont have math or science.
The anti-ADHD meds have been working great. But my back is seriously skrewed up. Basicly, I simply cant stand straight up. And I'm a dead man if I'm in a car wreck.
My art has been more or less reverting to my old style, but better. I used to draw air/spaceships from full on side or front views. Now, I'm drawing more angles. Also I've drawn some mechs and robots.

I was supposed to get it for my birthday. However, my parents always promised "next paycheck" kind of stuff. So I got nothing within the vicinity of my birthday as far as a gift goes...

Now, for those who dont know, my birthday is on May 13.

Untill today, I had givin up hope, but dad called me in to help him with a problem. He was looking up flash on ebay. This wednesday, he will get me flash for my belated birthday present(he better)

Thinking about this, and what this brings... will anyone oppose the idea of instead of a webcomic... an animation series?

Unfortunatly, I wont be able to do the same jokes or put them out as often. Also at this point, I have no music, no sounds, minimal training, and no mic to required to record my voice actors.

However, doing an animation series would be more inline with my career goal. Which is to be a video game cutscene animator/3D modeler. Also I'll be able to do more complex jokes, emply more of a story, and get a larger audience (newgrounds my major stage instead of DA (no offence DA, but it is more accessable to users for me))

Another option is to do small animations of the jokes. But there are jokes that you simply cant animate the way I have them... though I could change them... ugh... my head hurts thinking.

My current plan is to mainly work on the comic. Using animations to add to the story and stuff... tho... I could make the intro alot better in animation then in the format I have now... >< somebody! help me deside!!

I go up, open the tray and close it again, same thing. Testing to see if the disk was broken or something, I switch it out for another game. "Unreadable disk" another one "unreadable disk" I tested 8-10 disks, non of them work.

I go online, trouble shoot. From information from several sites, both offical and unoffical, I know the xbox itself is broken. So I go to the xbox website and order a repair job.

In a few days, I'll recieve a box, I put the xbox in said box. And send it away to parts unknown for about a month to be fixed.

I was printing the recipt when it dawned on me. I cant take pics of chromehounds for reference pics, and I'm forced to google search things...

This sucks... I might be forced to wait till school to get the webcomic running.

However, right now its on idle because I have several things going on. Currently, I am planning to put the project on full steam a few weeks after school starts (sept 4th for me) However, I am idly working on it when I enough free time and when I have enough will.

I'm hoping to eventually get to a point where I'll post one once or twice a week. It will probebly be a loose schedule untill I announce the offical one.

Also, untill I feel its worth it to build a website surrounding the comic, DA will be the only home of Chromenation.

Right now I'm getting ahead of myself. So I'm going to shutup untill some more news comes up. I'll probebly start uploading when I have 5 compleated comics.

I actually tryed to do it once, but I ran into a few problems, one was my skill level, it was to sloppy and stuff for what I wanted to do. Second was I didnt have a plan for how to render the in-game parts. And lastly, and the biggest problem was that I didnt have any characters, nor any good ideas for ones.

I got to thinking about the jokes I would do, and how to link them up. Then, everything hit me. Not just hit me like 'whap' more like a bat hits a baseball hit.

The characters, if everything works out, will be played by me. My friends Daniel and Ian, as long as they agree to let me. And my bro, I dont care if he lets me, hes gonna be in it.

And I'm going to do all the backgrounds and in-game images the same way. For real life scenes I'm going to take pics of where it is, from the angle that the shot is going to be at. Put them on the comp, line and color over them... cheap I know. And the in-game stuff, I'm just gonna take a pic of my TV screen and do the same. I vow to never just paste the pic into the comic, I'm going to work over everything.

That style of working fixes two problems, I dont have to freak out about backgrounds as much, cause its going to be easyer to make them. And I know how I'm going to do things. I just need to get Dan and Ian to let me put them in as charas, go to theyre house, and take a bunch of pictures of they're bedroom's and TV rooms... Not creepy in any way.

So once I get ahold of Dan at least, and apologyze a thousand times for missing his b-day party. I can start working on the first page.

I just wish he was on...

The Wizards First Rule, is only the first book out of the 11 book series. The book is 820 pages long, and is typed in pure mental candy and crack. I nearly ripped the book apart in the short 3 weeks it took me to read it. The 820 pages will be split up into 22, 1 hour long episodes... They might have to take some things out.

I cannot wait until the first showing. Both me and my dad are praying that Disney and ABC did Mr. Goodkind's work justice. However, I dont want to tell you they did. I want you to go, buy "Wizards First Rule" and read it. Its in the fantasy section. Go, scoot, read.

Where to start... Next year I am going to be a senior at Arts and Communications Magnet Academy. Which is very scary for reasons I could not have enough room to write in one journal... Maybe I should commit to writing one someday over the summer.

I finished off last school year weak, I think I failed 1 or 2 classes, I'm taking online summer-school to make up for it, and I'll be re-taking a class or two next year.

During Parent-Teacher-esk meetings it was established that I require "specialty course aid" as I think they put it. During these meetings I disclosed for the first time that I've had feelings of depression.

My parents have set me up with counciler's meetings, where it was established that I have inatentive ADD/ADHD. Which basicly means, I'm not hyperactive, but I cant focus easily on things I dont want to.

As such I have gotten a perscription to help 'cure' or supress my ADHD. Which I started today actually.

We also went to the farmer's market today. Me and my dad stopped at every booth with artwork in it. We bought aspragrass, some artichokes. We also bought the most amazing strawberries ever. They taste like the soil they were grown in was encrusted with suger, they're unreal.

We also went and saw Wall-e. I expected it to be good, I expected it to be fun/funny. And it didnt meet my expectations. It absolutly blew them away! I highly recommend-nay- I require anyone reading this to go see it.

Once somebody has seen it, I will be happy to go on a tyrade/civilized conversation about it. (Its amazing btw)

Anyways, that's my lifes recent events/today's excuses for leaving my comp. To anyone who read it to the end, my I ask you this... why?

Also i'm gonna do a colored pencil drawing for an event at my school called art is my voice. basicly you submit work, and give a price tag (average $5-$10) and if it sells, half goes to the school, the other half, you pocket yourself. Soo if i'm gonna sell anything it's gotta be good ^^.

one final note: sorry about not submitting anything, i think i figured out my "artist decline" thing, basicly i get into a mind set when i start running out of pages in my sketch book, trying to force every drawing to be good. and then it comes out sub par to when i'm just drawing.

But this is a new way of dealing with things, I just got a new program... that vector... i've been working on going over it for the past 2 weeks. out of the 8 characters in the pic, i've got 5 and a half at the moment... I just had to start off with the pic with my 8 charas.
I'll be honest, i like the drawing, but placing so many vector points just sucks.
