Gah I suck supremely. I wasn't online for a day or two and I absolutely forgot about the meeting. That and I received a number of emails from people who would like a little more time, therefore in my infinite love I have decided to allow you all an extension.

The official book club discussion will be Saturday 16th of August at 10pm GMT. Remember it is not vital for you to be there, if you can't make it, just note me with some of your ideas on the book for me to add to the piece I am working on for it.

Remember also that the discussion will be for people who have finished the book, so I shall put one massive spoiler alert around the entire chat room for the duration ^_^ anyway, sorry to have cocked this up to some extent. I realise I have been a bit neglectful lately.

This has been brought to me attention by =DKegerreis and it may well come in useful for those of you unable to get hold of a hard copy of the book club book. The Picture of Dorian Gray ebook I have not tried it out but it seems to be the full book. So have a go if you like ^_^

This is my proposal for the small number of you who agree with my theory that 'in order to be a good writer, one must first be a good reader' ...

The Literati Book Club

The concept behind this is very simple...

1) I will give you the title of a book.
2) There will be a certain amount of time set for you to locate the book and finish it, (the time will depend on the length and "difficulty" of the book.)
3) On a set date we can all meet up on the -Literati Lair- dAmn chatroom and talk about the book.
4) You can also give me any feedback about the book, mini reviews, first impressions and so on and I can post them in a separate journal, or even make a news article.

I have a good idea of what the first book may be, however I would like to know who will be partaking in this activity. Basically if you intend to then please send me a note with Book Club in the title, expressing your interest.

I hope this is clear to you all. I am not expecting a vast number of people to sign up, but even if it is only one or two of you, and even if you have already read the book it would be a fab chance to get some good literature down yourself ^_^

- UNACCOMPANIED ME - To sandbag a bit, I'm not an aspiring writer...but I do enjoy it as an outlet for emotions and creativity. My attention span is too short to write prose much, so I usually do poetry, but I'm a huge fan of Vonnegut. And e.e. cummings. I'm into all forms of theatre and music, as well.


- U N K N O W N - KARINA;;; I'm a teen with little experience in my writing. Yet, it's my medicine and my addiction. I spend time evaluating and studying literature, and am hoping to become an author not incredibly far down my road. I never back down from critics, and always have room for advice. - USTULO - I'm 20, and a history student from the UK. I'm a book worm and social butterfly, who thought the two were compatible eh? I'm pretty much a normal student which means I drink, I sleep, I party, I steal the tax payers money, I terrorise the local community and I occasionally do some work. I have been writing since I was old enough to hold a pen. I had a children's book published at nine years old and never stopped. I have not been as lucky with the publishing aspect but writing is still an outlet - an outlet that has grown as I have. It never questions, judges, or attempts to trap in me in the reality that I strive to escape from.

I write mostly free-form poetry and broken prose.


- VIC RATTLE HEAD 56 - I play bass for a hardcore band and I also write the lyrics, thats why I started my deviant art page. I write lyrics mostly... sometimes love poems... anyway the lyrics I write are inspired by my own experience and the experience of other. I try to make my lyrics deep because I am fascinated by the human psyche and I want to challenge it and make the reader think.

- KABIRA WHISPER - I love the whimsical and the unique. However, I do give the ordinary a chance especially when it comes to writing. And it's really hard to describe myself.. I try to be modest and help other people with their problems, but that can be difficult for me. The best word to describe me is indecisive. That's about it.

- FALATHIEL - I'm Duygu, a 14-year-old psycho poet from Turkey. I'm often called Oliver (Twist) for my extremely short haircut. The feared outcast "metalhead-punk weirdo" of my school. I'm in a science high school merged with a normal one, 2nd grade.
I have wandering-outside-the-normal views, a LaVeyan Satanist (no, I don't bite) and a anarcho-communist. I do-enjoy-want-to-have-as-a-occupation almost everything from science to art and from there, philosophy.

- 7 OUTER ELEMENTS - Greetings. I'm a recreational writer, occasional college student, and full time slacker. I go by many nicknames, all of them, I assure you, other people's ideas, so you can call me what you want. If you'd rather use my more common names, you can call me Outer, Seven (7 if you're really lazy), Sev, or, if you're boring, you can call me by my given name: Steven.

I'm one of those writers that rarely finishes anything, no matter how entranced I am with an idea. Instead, I binge write as ideas take up residence in me, and hope that I finish before the drive leaves me. If I was to make one of those pixel IDs that are running around, I'd rank high on speed and special, low on stamina and attack.

I read voraciously, and have been doing so for as long as I can remember. Non-fiction bores me, in reading and in writing, so fantasy and science fiction are my subjects of preference, especially novels that deal with topics of philosophy or psychology.

I have written much more than I have posted on dA. A lack of confidence and lazy attitude keep me from posting a lot of what I write - even the works I have up, I sometimes want to take down.
