Um...what else has been going on in my life? I'm taking an art class at MECA, I've been modeling for a group of painters (and getting paid!), I got accepted to USM for the fall of 2008 and was invited to apply to the honors program (which I did, still waiting on that though), I joined a gym last week with ~genishargreaves and I've been going regularly and I'm sore but totally enjoying myself, I signed up for my summer class (Irish Lit!) at USM today, and I have a possible job lined up for the summer.

So things are looking up.

Hey guys. I'm sorry if I'm a little in-and-out for a while...something's going on with my mental health and we're not quite sure what it is or how to fix it yet. I don't really know how to go into much detail about it, since I don't quite understand it myself and it pretty much defies description in words anyway, but I can try, to an extent.

Most of you already know I've been at home this semester dealing with mental issues that we didn't recognize or deal with for the majority of my life. I've been misdiagnosed many times, with things like Schizophrenia and Borderline Personality Disorder and Bipolar Disorder. Recently (since coming home from school) I've been seeing a therapist and a psychiatrist (or -chologist, I can never keep them straight -- the one who can prescribe drugs) and we think (or thought) we had gotten my disorders down to simple clinical depression and one or two anxiety disorders (most probably Generalized Anxiety Disorder and/or Social Anxiety Disorder), with some random psychotic/dissociative tendencies tossed in. For the past few months I've been in a state of transit, I suppose, having my meds upped and changed and adjusting to them accordingly, and it seems to be helping a lot on the mood and anxiety scale, which we assumed would mostly negate the psychotic & dissociative tendencies, since they were most likely brought on by depression or anxiety/panic attacks. That prediction has been pretty much correct, and things have been looking up, but all of a sudden this really weird stuff has been happening that scares the shit out of me.

For example, a couple nights ago when I was getting ready for bed I swear I saw someone standing against front door in the living room watching me. She had black hair and was wearing a green hoodie and I swear I saw her so vividly in my mind, out of the corner of my eye, but when I looked back there was nothing. And then yesterday morning I was brushing my teeth and I looked at the drain in the bathtub and it looked wrong. It popped out too much and was really shiny and looked really big, and it was more 3D than it should have been, and I stared and stared at it but it wouldn't go back to normal, and it stopped looking like a drain at all, and I had to leave the bathroom because having my vision toy with me like that was scary as heck. THE SERIOUS LIST

THE BASICS: write a Christmas/Holiday wish list. It can be any 10 wishes you'd like to have granted, no matter what they are. Possible or seemingly impossible. People look and grant the wishes if they can. It's not about "OMFG PRESENTS", it's about making someone else's holiday a little brighter by giving. Personally, I get more out of giving than receiving sometimes. It's just a good feeling to give.

STEP ONE

** Make a post in your journal. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fun ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

** If you wish for real possible things, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

** Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your journal, so that others can join in and participate to spread the holiday joy!


STEP TWO

** Surf around your friend list to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

** If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

** You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

Not much to say...not much has been going on around here.

It's lateish and I'm tired, so I suppose I'll just touch upon some points briefly.

Wow. So yeah, that was a party.

Highlights were definitely ...

1- Getting to be with my sister constantly for four days
2- Meeting my lovely new Namine,
3- FINALLY getting to meet in real life and being spazzes together
4- (and most significant) Actually getting to know and
from Zodi-ACK! (whom I of course have not been secretly stalking since BakuretsuCon last year) and becoming friends with them.

Uhm...not much else to say because I am, of course, MUCH too lazy to write a description of the whole weekend. However, many fun and hilarious things happened. *nodnod*

I've just been feeling rather inspired. The plants are blooming and everything is so GREEN and gorgeous out.

And I finally got my little sister to agree to model for me. She's so gorgeous and intelligent and hilarious. I love herrrr

And many thanks to my gorgeous dancer friend Emmegan who submitted to my photographic dictatorship as well. ^o^

I'm going to see POTC3 tomorrow at eightttttttttttt, first showing, SO EXCITED. HOJESUS. MUST LOOK FOR SPARRINGTON/SPARBOSSA SUBTEXT. GHAHAA.

Then on Friday I'm doing a photoshoot with my friend in the cemetery by our school, and then going to do some site-specific choreography with my dance class at Portland Head Light. Hopefully I can get some nice shots in there too.

Then on Sunday I'm GRADUATING FROM HIGH SCHOOL. Oi. This year's gone by so fast. Thank you to everyone who has made it special. You have no idea how much you've affected me, each and every one of you.

I GOT ACCEPTED TO MOUNT HOLYOKE COLLEGEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

EAHHHHHHHHH.

I AM SO BLOODY EXCITEDDDDDDDD.

And they're giving me ~$22,000 in grants per year. Eeeee this is so AWESOME. Gahhhhh.

So now I'm debating between Holyoke, Smith, and Wells. Hard chooiiicesssss. My dad's gonna take me to visit schools during April vacation. ^_^

Oh, Sora and Heather! I'm gonna have to leave AB early on Sunday to get to Mt. Holyoke's open house thing. My dad's gonna pick me up -- depending on how long it takes to get to South Hadley, I'll probably have to leave around 12:30.

I just got out of religion class and we went to the motherhouse to hear the sisters talk about vocations. Honestly, if I wasn't a flaming pagan lesbian, I would consider becoming a sister. I need something peaceful and structured like that. But it doesn't fit with my beliefs, obviously. Can't I be like...a priestess? Someone transport me back in time to Avalon, I want to devote my life to the earth and the goddess. <3

Other than that, I'm feeling quite content. Thanks to everyone for putting up with my out of control emotionality. I know that's something I need to try and learn to control better, and I'm trying.

Right now I just want to live and be happy like I am right now.

I still love the girl and I'm still gonna be a bit possessive of her for a bit. Things can't just change like snapping your fingers. It's gonna take some getting used to, but we feel this is the right thing. Don't make a big deal about it, please. If you have the sense to respect this, then I'll respect you. But anyway, things are going okay with Anna's mum. Or better than we thought, anyway. She's only grounded for two weeks, and apparently her mom was more upset that we had kept it a secret from her for such a long time than about the fact that her daughter is kind of gay.

To get down there I'd take the amtrak -- there's a train leaving Portland at 8 am on April 20th, arriving at North Station at 10:30 am. Do you know where that is, Sora? Does that give us enough time to throw my crap in your room and get down to the convention center? I wonder how many odd stares I'd get if I traveled in costume...

Anyway. That costs $22, and I get access to the snack car.

Then con registration at the door costs $50.

And I'll probably need about $100 for food?

And another hundred for spending money.

And probably about $50 (hopefully a little less) for to make me a Toph costume ... I'll probably bring my Sora costume too, although it might be awkward bringing a four-foot-long keyblade on a train. xP

And then it's another $22 for the train ride home... leaving North Station at 6:45 pm on April 22 and arriving in Portland at 9:15 pm.

That's about... 344 dollars.

Leaving me with only $393.49 in my bank account. =/

I need to get a real job.

And find a way to propose this whole thing to my parents.

Although technically I'll be 18 and since I'm using my own money I can do what I want, right?

Besides that, the only things of note lately are my role in the school play as Adela, a woman warrior (coreographed fight scenes, yesss!), and the movement of my tattoo appointment to February 22nd, THE SAME DAY AS THE MCR CONCERT, OGOD I'M GONNA DIE.

Also, WHEN THE HELL DID I GET 3K+ PAGEVIEWS? AND WHYYY? Dude guys, really. My art is crap compared to some of the other stuff out there. Go visit ! She's been on DA for much longer than me and her art is amazing and she's only got 2.4k pageviews. And , she makes awesome ponies. And , she's fecking amazing. GO NOW, FOOLISH MORTALS!!! *falls over*

Bakuretsu Con was AMAZERING. *dies*

It's hard to get back to real life. I have such a con hangover. *_*

Anyway. I made lots of awesome friends and did tons of cool things which I am waaaaaaayyy too lazy to tell you all about. But my brain is still in con-mode. And I keep referring to myself as "Sora" in the third person. *shrug* Hey, sounds close enough to "Sarah", right? Maybe I should go by that now. xP

I would upload tons of pictures, but unfortunately there was an incident involving running madly across a highway and my camera falling out of my pocket. Ahyes. Cosplay.

I'm going as KHII Sora to Bakuretsu Con (in Vermont) in the first weekend of November ((anyone else going?)) and my good friend genishargreaves is making my costume, but I still need assistance/advice on making my keyblade and modifying a pair of shoes. (Or just buying them... ) Any help you can give would be great! ^o^

Also, I was wondering what you watchers ((do you even read my journal entries? Do you comment on my stuff? NOOO. Bad watches, bad! *beats with stick* xP)) think about making prints to sell (cheaply) at BakuCon. Is there anything of mine you'd buy for say... $3-$5 dollars? Should it be cheaper? Should I even bother making any? My friends genishargreaves, twistednight and I are buying a table in artist's alley, and we're going to be selling paopu plushies that we make (([link])), art by our friend Talie (and perhaps some TwistedNight prints if she wants to), advertising Genishargreaves sewing company Insignia (([link])), and -ifyouthinkishouldbother- some of my crappycheapprints/$1doodles. MOST IMPORTANTLY, however, is the fact that they're going to get me my tattoo! XDXD

EVEN MORE IMPORTANT for you people though, is the fact that I'm not quite sure what design I want. I know the general concept -- two wings, 2-3 inches long each, on my upper back between my shoulderblades. What I need YOU to do, is design me a pair of wings. I don't care what kind. Use some artistic liscence. The only stipulations: black and white only, nothing too huge.

There shall be a prize for zee one I like most! I'm thinking 5 bucks and/or a drawing or photo. Whatcha say?
