I had previously posted an apology discussing a recent career shift, lack of free time, and a deficit of Halloween goodies in the workshop. Just writing a quick blog to let you know why I haven't been kicking out the Halloween goodies this year. In short: I have a full-time job now. What's the hold up? Well, as I discussed in my recent poll, I am contemplating adding watermarks/signatures to my future walls. In short, it was pretty damn good. It wasn't perfect, as these movies never are, but it was a very solid effort all around. I was particularly happy with this version of Hulk. Everyone else was as they were in the previous movies. Comparatively, whether it was screen time or the specifics of what they did, only Thor and Hawkeye felt slightly downplayed. Maybe it only feels that way to me. Black Widow and/or ScarJo fans won't be disappointed, though, as she received ample amounts of attention. Well, it is if you happen to be in the northern hemisphere. I love spring. It's my second favorite season behind autumn. It's warm, but not hot, and it's also sunny and colorful. It's the bliss that precedes the hot, yellow, dry, scorching banality that is summer. Spring is also a very inspirational time. And I need inspiration. Few things can be as inspirational as a picturesque winter. Banks of glistening snow, icicles hanging from the roofs, people skating on frozen ponds, etc. But it's hard to take in all of that majesty when you're experiencing one of the warmest winters on record.

'Wallpaper Fridays' seemed like a good idea, but it has turned out to be as much of a burden as a relief. I originally started it in order to combat my own personal sense of obligation to release wallpapers around the clock. With it in place, everyone knew to expect one wallpaper every Friday. I thought it would make things more orderly, less strenuous, and provide a familiarity that would eventually add to my online identity. In a sense, it was a marketing strategy as much as it was a means of controlling my workload.

I'd like to thank everyone who participated in my last poll. I showcased three preview formats to use with future wallpapers. Those formats were as follows:

Preview #3 won by a decent margin. Preview #1 was not too far behind, and a few people even suggested that I merge them. In the end, I decided to make a 4th design with a mostly from-scratch monitor that is big enough to show scaled wallpapers in their entirety. All my followers may notice a lot of my old stuff reappearing in their watch box. This is because I had to fix a few files in my wallpaper packs. A few sizes were improperly labeled, namely for the Samsung Galaxy cut, so I renamed a few files and uploaded them again. Apologies to anyone who tried to use my walls on their Galaxy and wondered why it didn't place at the correct resolution. A few others are being uploaded with sizes they didn't previously include. Wallpapers

I have a simple Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles wall, which is kind of a texture+typography wall. I also have some starfield walls that may or may not involve Star Wars. I'm working on a Masters of the Universe wall that, like the TMNT one, will likely just be a simple type+texture thing.

The DC walls are still under construction. I'm worried the long, long wait will make everyone have unrealistic expectations. This leads me to procrastinate a bit, and then a vicious cycle ensues. They're all basically centered logos over patterns and textures. Develop or Design? That is the question.

I'm going to be doing a lot of development work for clients and personal projects; however, I don't want to go back to being one of those "N months on, N months off" kind of contributors. I'd almost rather add one wall a month than go six months and add six.
