Anyways, I figured that while I wait for Uncharted to arrive, why not review the games I've played lately. Then the little zombie-angel thing on my shoulder popped up and told me to eat a flapjack. So I did. Then I decided to write some reviews. Yay for me.

Assassin's Creed (PS3): The graphics are AMAZING, and the gameplay matches that... for a while, soon, it gets incredibly boring doing the same 5 sidequests again, and again, and again, and again... but in spite of this, I still love it, and give it 7/10

Trapt (PS2): An older game, but it is one of my favourite games EVAR! Sure, the graphics may suck considering when it was made, and the camera can get annoying, and the AI is mind-numbingly thick, but all is forgiven when the game lets you impale, burn, crush, stab and do other nasty thing to a poor random, and string it all together to look good. 9.5/10

Mortal Kombat Trilogy (PSOne): In this, you get the uncensored versions of MKI, MKII and MKIII, and man, is it fun. The graphics are a bit dated, but ripping off someone's arms and beating them to death with them never gets old. 7/10

The Orange Box (PS3): I'm going to break this review into three parts.
Half-Life 2, Episode 1 & 2: Half Life 2 is without a doubt one of the greatest action games ever made, and Ep 1 & 2 are more of the same. And that's their main flaw. They are nothing but more of the same. Although that is perfectly fun, it gets a bit boring, and you will definitly be feeling a sense of deja vu at various points. Critisism aside, HL2 is a brilliant game, with possibly the best physics engine ever, brilliant storyline, excellent AI, fast-paced action and slow, creepy horror. Albeit a bit boring at times. 8/10
Team Fortress 2: My least favourite game on the list, although still awesome. If you have been hiding under a rock in a cave for the past couple of years, and the rock was made of liqiud stupid, then TF2 is the sequal to the grandaddy of all team-based FPS. And boy, is it fun. Although the experience is dampened slightly by the often overly sweary and usually very assholish community, it is a fun experience nonetheless. (My favourite class is Sniper) 7/10
Portal: Quite possibly the funniest game I have ever played, Portal is a brilliant, and maybe most importantly, a gaming experience unlike any other. The puzzles are well thought-out and challenging, and as I have already said, the dialogue is some of the funniest I have ever witnessed. 9.5/10

Painkiller (PC): Brilliance comes in many forms. To some, it may be an excellent unit balancing in an RTS. To others, it may be a particular awesome combo in an RPG. But to me (and hopefully most other people), it's blowing lots of big stuff up. With even bigger stuff. And that pretty much sums up Painkiller. Shoot. Boom. Yay. 9.8/10

World War Zero - Ironstorm (PS2): A fairly average FPS, but fun nontheless. The guns are fun, the gameplay is violent (and fun) and the graphics are... oh, the graphics. While they look fairly good from a distance, look closely at the soldiers, and they look like they should be in Judge Dredd, but get past that and there is a very fun experience to be had. 6.5/10

Turning Point - Fall Of Liberty (PS3): This game is just bad. The graphics are barely an improvment of the PS2, the AI is retarded, the controls are dreadful and the guns all. Suck. Balls. 3/10

Beyond Good And Evil (PS2): I'm all for oringinal games, and BGE sure is that. It's also incredibly fun, and has a great storyline, and the voice acting is superb. 8.5/10

XIII (PS2): MY EYES! That is what my mind is yelling inside. The graphics, although cel-shading is cool-looking if done right, are painful to look at for prolonged periods of time. But strip down the graphics, and you have a very average FPS, nothing more, nothing less. 5/10

Fracture Demo (PS3): This is a fairly original shooter, what with the whole terraforming stuff, and, contrary to my expectations, this does not suck a huge pile of monkey dung. The controls for it work fine, and it's not overly complicated, and it looks cool. Even though I know the novelty of the terrforming would ware off after a while, I may well buy this. 8.5/10

So there you have it. Happy now? No? Then piss off!

Well, I have a friend round tonight, and were strangling cats, sorry, I mean playing SingStar. My ears hurt.
Anyways, Hebrew Hammer. It sucks. Big-time.

In other news, feet taste nice, I'm high and I need fish.

I haven't been on for a while because I've been so busy on the awesomeness that is GameTap. I really recommend it. Also, Jaws Unleashed is, although the reviews are shit, is an amazing game. Soooooo... gory. ^^ And Rogue Trooper rocks too!

Did I miss anything while I was away?

I've finally managed to play on an X-Box 360, a PS3 and a Wii! So I have to write a review.

WARNING Review ahead

I played a demo of a game of each genre, so here goes!

Sports

Wii: Wii Sports
PS3: Madden
360: SEGA Superstars Tennis

The Wii wins it no contest. The PS3 and 360 controllers just don't feel as good, and motion-sensing is a huge advantage in sport game experiences. In second place is the PS3, as it does have some motion sensing stuff, but it is barely used. The 360 comes in last as it has no motion sensing stuff at all.
Winner: Wii

Hack 'n' Slash

Wii: No More Heroes
PS3: Heavenly Sword
360: Viking: Battle For Asgard

This one is a tough call, as No More Heroes isn't the best game I've played, but using the Wii as the sword is really fun. The PS3 have stunning visuals, which are plentiful in Heavenly Sword, which in itself is an amazing game. Viking is a pretty good game, similar to Spartan: Total Warrior, and is lovely looking too, but overall, I would give this win to the PS3
Winner: PS3

Shoot 'em Up

Wii: Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles
PS3: Tom Clancy's Advanced Warfighter 2
360: Rainbow Six: Vegas 2

This category is Shoot 'em Up, not Arcade Shooter, which is next. Resident Evil is a series that I love, but I'm trying hard not to be biased here, so here goes. RE:UC is a LOT like House Of The Dead, set in the Resident Evil universe. It basically reviews all the old storylines, adding in very minor things. AW2 was quite fun to play, the the graphics were amazing, but it wqasn't that spectacular, as the the visuals were ruined by the drab colours. Vegas 2 didn't have this problem, as the Las Vegas strip is full of neon lights, but overall, these were all fairly average shooters. This win goes to the Wii though, because it's just like using a LightGun.
Winner: Wii

Arcade Shooter

Wii: House Of The Dead 2 & 3
PS3: Time Crisis 4
360: N/A

House Of The Dead and Time Crisis are both amazing games and series, but they are basically the same games except one has terrorists and the other has zombies. While I adore zombies in all their decomposing glory, Time Crisis 4 is just better by the fact it's more action packed. There are no arcade shooters on the 360.
Winner: Draw

Sneak 'em Up

Wii: Manhunt 2
PS3: Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots
360: Viking: Battle For Asgard

I know I've already done Viking, but it was the only stealth game I found. These games are so different. Manhunt 2, for all the controvesy it caused, isn't that great a game. But the stealth works reasonably well on the Wii, and there is some sick fun to be had, there are still flaws in the Wii stealth mechanism. MGS4 takes the tried-and-tested MGS formula and messes it up. But it works. Viking has it's violent stealth kills, but overall, the graphical power of the PS3 put together with the amazing orginality that is MGS, the PS3 wins no problem.
Winner: PS3

Racing

Wii: Some goddam Mario Kart game
PS3: Burnout Paradise
360: Race Driver GRID

GRID doesn't have too much special about it, it's really just another racing game. Paradise is Burnout gone free-roaming, which is a dream come true for all you Burnout fans desperate to race around a fully (and beutifully) rendered city, smashing all in your way. Mario Kart is a reasonable game, although it's more a milking of the franchise than a good game, but it has it's moments.

The rules for charryblossom's 100 Themes Challenge

1.) Make 100 pictures, with each picture having a theme listed below. Each picture should have ONE and only ONE theme to it for it to count.

2.) No time limit so have fun

3.) The main picture should be drawn but not limited to. For all fair purposes, people are allowed to use their paint programs and photo shop to create the picture.

3a.) Pictures should be of own artistic ability. You may not edit photos, or break any other rules set out in the dA etiquette policy. Your pictures can be anything from sketches and doodles to great master pieces. Just have fun with it.

4.) The list below is to be placed somewhere in your journal for others to see that......

The rules for charryblossom's 100 Themes Challenge
