As we all know, the DIM SCENE DVD is coming out on December 16th. The setlist and DVD covers have now been released. I for one, love the set list, though the DVD cover is debatable... I'm looking for your opinion on the DVD covers: [link] and [link]

I can't say I like them too much, but I don't flat out hate them like many others. Although the DVD jacket is the first impression, I think it sort of fits with the mood of the music. I wonder if it's Ruki's design haha <3

:iconhanemisaki: asked me to point out(to which I agree)that this contest isn't about who can draw the best looking Gazette member, but it's a contest about the most good looking, creative outfit that a member would actually wear - her words. So it's all about imagining yourself being their fashion designer although your task won't to make the suits but to draw an idea for it. I hope that's clear.

Club update:

I'm sorry but joining notes can't be sorted until I retrieve data from my old computer(I've just got a new one yesterday) and everything about the club is in there, along with the member list and other stuff. I'm an idiot, I should have moved that on my flash before it was shut down. But don't worry, I'll move everything in a few days. Until then, new members that are waiting for their joining notes to be replied, please be patient! Keep submitting though, that can be done.
It's so weird to have an empty computer, thank god I found some music on my mp4, Filth in the Beauty is on :)

Speaking of joining, people, please NOTE US if you want to join! There are a lot of people who just add the club to their watch list. That way I don't know if they want to become a member or just watch the club. Even worse thing is to send a joining note without adding the club to your watch list. It clearly states in the welcoming note that you have to do it, otherwise you are not added to the member list until you do so. Please check out the rules before joining or submitting. You can find a link to rules on top of every journal.

We've got many ideas in the past journal about what the next contest theme should be. I don't want to choose one myself so I'll make a list of topics here and I would like you to vote for one.

Here's the list(vote by numbers):

1. The GazettE cosplay contest
2. Draw your favorite band member(traditionally or digitally(using a tablet))
3. The GazettE chibi contest
4. The GazettE fashion design contest(create a new look for the band members; you can draw outfits only or them in it)
5. The GazettE comic strip
6. Create a new club icon
7. Create your own cover for "Before I Decay"(without using their photographs if you do a photo-manipulation)
8. Create your own cover for "DIM"(without using their photographs if you do a photo-manipulation)
9. Create a new GazettE logo

The list is made in no particular order. Some are suggested by the club members and some are added by me.
I wish we had a subscription for stuff like polls and journal features.

NEWS UPDATE:
Hi everyone! This is your newest admin, ~haneMIsaki, please call me Kris :] I will be the one in charge of GazettE news so if I happen to miss anything, drop me a note!

UPDATE 2: Ruki wrote in his blog that he's recovered well enough to sing at the tour final on September 5th! He apologizes for making everyone worry, and thanks all the fans for everything. This is a huge sigh of relief <3 I can't wait for the DVD of the final to come out. How many of you are buying it?

I didn't think my first piece of GazettE news would come so quick and serious.

Kai-kun wrote on his blog, Ruki-san has become ill with gastroenteritis and it is uncertain if the boys will be playing anymore lives this summer, and the tour final that should have been on September 5th may be postponed.

Now before we all have heart attacks, since I know I almost had one when I read the news, gastroenteritis is just the fancy name for the stomach flu, so there should be nothing to worry about.

Ruki-san, please look after your health! We all hope you get well soon!

UPDATE: It turns out that, written on the OHP, the Fukuoka Live will be postponed due to Ruki-san's illness (he has gone to a doctor, and it's confirmed that he does have gastroenteritis). The staff members apologize about the inconvinience this has caused people (but in all honesty I bet Ruki-san feels the worst :[ ) and remind you to hold on to your tickets.

As I wrote in our past journal, it's been one year since I made this club. We currently have 226 members and I'm really glad the club managed to gather that many fans in one year. That's why I would like to arrange another contest but I just can't think of a good topic. The only thing that came to my mind was the DIM album cover design or something like that. So please, guys, let me know if you have other ideas.

I was thinking about doing something more for the club, like features or so, but it's really sad that we don't have a subscription to do that. So if there is anyone out there who could donate one the club would really appreciate it!
I would pay for one myself but I don't have a paypal.

It is the ID contest, since we still don't have an ID.

Here are the guidelines:

*Your deviation must have something related to the Gazette band, of course.

*There has to be a text somewhere in the image saying 'the GazettE fun club' or 'TheGazettEclub' or something similar.

*Please do not make your ID any wider than 400 pixels(to avoid having the side cut off when displayed on the page).

*Image format:JPG, PNG or GIF if you desire an animated ID.

*NO Reituki and other similar pairing will be accepted!

*All kind of medium accepted: traditional, digital art, photomanips, photography, etc.

*You must be a member in order to participate!

I'm sorry for the lack of activity, may computer was broken so I had to get it fixed.
Anyway, we're back up.

Update on the band:

It's the video showing their "secret" live show which was visited by around 7000 fans, which was a record for an announced show. They couldn't keep it in secret though, even I found out about it.
Unfortunately, they only played two songs - Leech and Filth In The Beauty because it wasn't safe for the crowd to continue. They didn't expect so many people to show up. So, check it out!

Here's what it says on the myspace:
The band made a new record of gathering the most people ever at the place. About 7000 fans are gathered at the place for the band although it was a secret LIVE and the surrounding was buried whole area even over the street front of Shinjuku ALTA where the roadway had been placed.

Right after the band ordinal classic SE played at 17:30, the stage curtain fell down and 5 members showed up on the stage. At the moment, the fan dances the rapture wildly as they exploded all what they saved up till then. All the sudden the area had changed it self like a concert hall front of Shinjuku station, It was extraordinary spectacle.

Ruki, the Vocal screamed to the fans ï½¢Tokyo!Shinjuku!Bring it on! ï½£ and play the new singleï½¢LEECHï½£ and ï½¢Filth in the beautyï½£.

After playing 2 songs, the performance had cancelled with the reason being judged it..s too dangerous to continue.
Although it was only 10 min performance, around the area had a full of fans and people who ask for encore with their excitement after the performance for a while.

This performance of that day had broadcasted through the Internet aiming at all parts of the world.

I should get on with the submissions and join notes now. My Photoshop is finally working properly. I'm going to feature a member of the month too, so keep an eye on it :) Sorry I didn't do it at the beginning of the month.

Just when I got the time to go through the submission notes something got wrong with my Photoshop so I can't add the watermark. So I wanted to ask you guys if you would be ok with it if I would submit it without it and just put the dA mark? The only other way is to make a crappy text in Paint, and I know you don't want to see that.

One more thing, we've got over 50 members now! 52 to be exact. And I decided to make a new feature. I would like to feature a member of the month. I would do it by submitting a sheet where I would place one big along with a few smaller thumbs of that deviant's deviations(I will ask them for permission). They will be chosen by me and everyone will eventually have their turn.

Hey guys, I just need to ask you something and I really need your opinions, just let me know if you agree or not, k?

I was thinking about the submitting problems we have. I first thought it would be ok to use the collection system and submit the screen shot every 10th day, but the problem is that we sometimes don't get enough submissions to do that.

So here's what I thought it would be the best. I think it would be good for now to switch back to the old way of submitting, at least until we get more members and more submissions. Your deviations would still be collected as usually but resubmitted to the club gallery too! It would be submitted with a text in the bottom to try preventing faving and even if it happens, I would let those people know so they could correct it.

I just think it would be better this way so you wouldn't have to wait for so long to see your deviation in a screen shot.Well, who knows, maybe they'll make that club system soon too!
Please tell me what you think.

The Gazette (ガゼット, Gazetto, typeset as the GazettE) is a Japanese rock band, and part of the visual kei movement.[1] The band formed in early 2002 and is currently signed to PS Company and King Records.

Biography

In March of 2002, Ruki, Uruha, and Reita (all former band mates), and Aoi and Yune (also former band mates) formed a band under the name Gazette. Originally signed to Matina, they released their first single, "Wakaremichi", and a video release in April. By September they had released two more singles and another video, headlining a show for the first time in October.

In early 2003, Yune decided to leave the band, and he was replaced by Kai. Shortly after, they signed with the PS Company label, and in May released their first EP, Cockayne Soup. They started their first tour, with the band Hanamuke, and along with the tour, the bands collaborated on two songs. A second tour followed with the band Vidoll, and the bands were featured together on the November issue of Cure, a magazine focusing on Visual Kei bands.

In early December they played a co-headlining show with Deadman. On December 28 they performed at Fool's Mate magazine's Beauti-fool's Fest which was later released on DVD.

On January 16, 2004 they recorded a solo performance at the Shibuya-AX, which was released on DVD as Tokyo saihan ~Judgement Day~. On March 30, 2004 they released their Madara mini-album, which reached #2 on the Oricon Indie Charts. Madara was followed in May by a companion DVD, which included six music videos and an in-the-studio documentary. The same month, Gazette was featured in Shoxx magazine's Expect Rush III, a catalogue of independent Visual Kei artists. A second live DVD, Heisei Banka, was released in August. During September and October they toured with fellow PS Company bands Kra and BIS. Their debut album, Disorder, was released in October, and made it to the top 5 of the indies Oricon Daily Charts.

First of all, I would like to welcome our first members!:glomp: We currently have 25, and I'm sure we'll get much more new ones :aww:
One thing, start submitting some fan art people! The rules might sound a bit complicated, but it's really not. All you have to do is send a note with a subject submission containing the link and the category. You can see the details about the categories on our 'rules' page.
Once you do that, your deviation will be collected, and in every ten days you'll receive the screen shot of that period collection with a link to it, so you can directly collect whatever you like. No need to visit the original deviation, since it's already the original. Much more simple than the traditional way of submitting.
I just thought I'd clear that out a bit since there are still people how don't know everything about that 'collection method'.
Looking forward seeing some nice art from you guys!
