The Head Change.com goes international baby!!!

Thanks to all my friends and fans for helping me along the way, and also to my clients: without whom I would not be able to keep adding new and exciting products to The Head Change product line.

What a way to wrap up the year.

Gift Section To Open Soon!

Wow,

The longer I work at becoming a recognized presence in the art world, the more respect I have for those who have acheived this goal. Being an artist is hard work, that often requires quite a bit of personal sacrifice both on the part of the artist - but also on the part of the artist's friends and family. Each piece of art that you present, show, sell, or submit is a piece of yourself. Rejection is never easy, but avoiding taking it personally is the real challenge. I just keep remembering that without risk there are no ture rewards.

I remember being very young and dreaming of a career as an artist. Living a slow paced lifestyle studying nature and light, and having fun creating new art. How my view of this has changed in the last 7 years....

I had several goals throughout 2004 for my official business named The Head Change. See the official site: [link]

Over the course of this past year I have met several of these goals and also missed some as well. But the one thing I learned from this year is the art of persistance. One goal of mine this year was to gain gallery representation both local and regional. So far I have not had any luck. But I can honestly say each rejection is merely an experience to learn and grow from.

Boy am I learning and growing!! But I am learning that the path to recognition is not an easy one. Not by any means....

---------------------------------------- ----------------
Some goals that were acheived include:

Trading banner / links with some other artists

Joining a new art community: [link]

Winning an award for my art:
(13 times in 04) ArtWanted Top Ten winner

Releasing new art products:
mousepads, cups, paperweights

Redesigning The Head Change website:
in progress

Attending an artist barter fair

And being published:
Watch for the release of the 2004 ArtWanted.com book!
---------------------------------------- ----------------

Also this year I have devoted my time to studying the works of other artists both here and abroad. I have found my local library to be a wonderful resource in this capacity. In the last four months I have experienced thousands of pieces from artists ranging from masters to artists younger than myself who are just emerging. I have been able to do this all without traveling, other than commuting to and from the library.

Seriously though, I would recommend this internal journey to any emerging artist. I cannot tell you how much I have learned from simply viewing the art of others. Take a trip to the library today and see what I mean.

Keep checking my gallery too as I am currently created many new large sized works which I hope to post here very soon.

Thanks to all who take the time to comment, critique, and view my art. It really does mean the world to me. And sorry to rant on so long.

And one final shoutout to Utah artist TenseOne soon to become an Oregonian in 2005! The beaver state baby!! Welcome to your new home. Oregon keeps it green!
