I should really update more often

Well lately I've been pretty busy.
But not with things pertaining to me...

Just this last Wednesday, my little sister graduated with honours from her high school, and received a $1,100 scholarship with a large university in our province. I think it's the understatement of the year when I say that my family is extremely proud of her and all that she has accomplished
She's thinking of pursuing a career in music (she is amazing at the flute!), but with her grades, she can probably do whatever she wants

So, naturally, I attended the convocation and the grad dinner...which led to a few cigars and a lot of drinks (oh man, there are still bottles everywhere! xDD)

Well, with one child entering university, and one on his way out (I figure 3 or 4 more classes and I'm done ), my parents can breath a sigh of relief that they both made it through a major milestone in their lives.

With the party lights dying down and everyone getting ready to sleep until 2 in the afternoon, all in all it has been a great school year...and I eagerly prepare myself for the intense months ahead, where post-production of new film projects will commence and I apply for a very important job.

I've got a strong craving to start making music videos, so I'm thinking of posting some short videos on YouTube soon (since you can't use copyrighted music on dA )
I'll be sure to keep you all posted.

Anyway, things have gotten pretty random lately; before, I was desperately job-hunting...but just the other day I got a phone call from a casting agency (on a recommendation from a classmate), asking me to be an extra in a film project the following morning
So, I finally popped my film set cherry; I got to work on an actual professional film set for the very first time
It was so cool! I would kill for one of their cameras xDD

I also met up with my university film prof on set; turns out he's the stunt coordinator

Well, after consuming a Monster and catching up on my beauty sleep, I have officially set the scratch 5. project into motion. I've decided to work on the craziest film idea first, and work up towards my most serious, dramatic one.

I'll give you all the title of the first film as a hint (in my opinion, it's a pretty big hint ):
GARAGE DOOR FROM HELL

Also, Director's Cut was accepted into my university's Student Film Festival, where it was screened to the public and was met with a very warm reception
(of course, I had touched-up the film in some areas, so the version on YouTube and dA is kinda out of date )

Well, school's out now! Right now I'm working hard on trying to find a job, and I'm already planning new film projects for the summer. I'm hoping to save up enough money and buy a High-Definition camera for future projects.

Oh, and I'll also be submitting a new film very soon...

Since I first wrote the script, the film itself has gone in completely different directions; right up until shooting the final scene, the style and theme of the film has been changed.
So, the film is no longer called 5 Minutes.
I think, instead, it'll be called Director's Cut, Voyeur, or simply Filmmaker. We'll see

I'm also not sure if this film will stay exclusively on deviantART; depends on how much love it gets xD
I realize I've been away for a very long time, and I'm not sure how many of my watchers still 'watch' me xD

Well, the March 25th release date still stands. The only thing that may change is the film may be released sooner; depends on how well editing goes

Wow, can it be? How long has it been?
I'm finally back!

lol, I wouldn't be surprised if most of you forgot about me; the last time I took time to look at my messages and update my gallery was....August, I believe.

It's been way too long...

So how is everyone? I want to know how everyone is doing ^_^

I've been through some stuff since I last spoke...a lot of stuff, in fact. I've gone through some serious changes and done some things differently, but I'm mostly the same crazy Neuf you all know

So, what have I been up to?

Well, the main reason why I've been away for so long is school; my classes have been keeping me on a very tight leash, to the point that I haven't written anything since August :'(

Well, that's not entirely true...
I haven't written any prose...but I have completed 2 movie scripts

So yeah, I'm mostly focussing my efforts on screenplay-writing and filmmaking. So far for class I've been about 6 short films and one longer one. Things are going great so far ^^

But I do plan on writing some prose, now that I have some time off from school. Maybe I'll even submit my scripts

Right now I'm trying to get on deviantART's Film Admission List. I'm eagerly awaiting a reply. In the meantime, you can check out these films if you like. Hope you enjoy!

Whoa whoa whoa whoa!
It's been one hell of a week!

You might have noticed that I haven't been online in a whole week, just when I had submitted a new deviation. For that I apologize

You see, last weekend, at my workplace, we had to take down a tower crane...which, I quickly learned, takes up a lot of time! T__T

I worked 24 hours of overtime in total over 4 days, including Saturday and Sunday
So I haven't had any time to talk to any of my friends or log onto dA at all -___-

But I guess the good thing about all that work is the overtime pay I'm getting
Which brings me to this weekend...

Me and my friends, *styrecat, ~Mikouyo, and ~Preciousness, went to a weekend-long anime convention in town, called Ai-Kon. It started Friday afternoon and ended just now xD
This year we all decided to cosplay as characters from Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children.

was Kadaj
And I went as Rufus Shinra.

I must say that our costumes turned out really well...almost too well xDD
Reno wheeled me around in a wheelchair everywhere we went, stopping constantly for hugs and pictures.
We even entered a cosplay contest...and we won first place as The Best Cosplay Group!
We couldn't believe it!
lol, I didn't bring my camera, so I have to wait for *styrecat to get the pics off her camera.

Oh, at the convention I bought a butt-load of stuff (maybe too much stuff? xP) and got an autograph from voice actor and former-Power Ranger, Johnny Bosch!!! [link]

I'll be sure to submit the pictures I have. After that, more should be on the way

Well, I guess I should submit the next chapter for my story series soon
I register for my university classes tomorrow, so I still have some preparation to do.
Man am I tired...maybe I'll take a quick snooze....

It seems like just yesterday that I moved to this city.
It seems like just yesterday that I was so happy to be here.
It seems like just yesterday that everything was going along so smoothly...

But, you know what?
I knew.

I knew deep down that it wasn't meant to last.
I knew that it wouldn't end well.

Why?

Because it was too good to be true.

I have an announcement:
On July 18th, I'll be moving my stuff out of my apartment and moving back to the country.
The reason?

Mostly, it's because of school. I've scheduled myself to take 7 film-related classes. With my first-year success and the great opportunity I have now, I can't pass this up.
No matter how hard I may work myself at a decent part-time job, there's no way I could afford this place.

It's a nice apartment and it's located in a very convenient place, but it's too pricey for a university student. Sadly, I can no longer stay here

There is also another reason for my leaving...

My roommate and I have been falling apart.
I didn't want it to happen. I made an attempt to stop it from happening, but now I feel it's too late; a large piece of our friendship has died.
Now I don't mean completely, but now we're not nearly as close as we were before.

We were such great friends, but now it's gone, which breaks my heart. Why couldn't things stay the way they were? Why did things have to change so much?

It seems we don't really talk anymore; just small comments every now and then to each other. It feels so oppressive in here, almost like I'm suffocating.
It makes me question what kind of friend I am. Am I really a good person? Or am I bastard?

I'm not blaming anyone, but I can't help but ask: "Who is at fault here? What went wrong?"

But it's not only our friendship that's falling apart:
Canada's healthcare system was ranked 21 out of 24, since we're grossly short of doctors.
My city just experienced their 18th homicide since January the other day.
Cops are being intimidated and discriminated for testifying against an officer who was driving drunk.

Almost seems like my country is falling apart too

But there's also you guys: my deviantART friends.
Seems like forever since I talked with all of you. My inbox if filling up, and I still don't have a new deviation.
I want things to change, but my body is too sluggish to do anything.
I wish things were like the way they were before; I would talk and write frequently, meeting new people and talking with my friends.

I could just be overreacting; I may only be in a funk right now, over-thinking everything. I don't know.

Fortunately, there is some hope.
I've been talking to *RightTheFighter and ~Cerra-chan a lot recently. Thank you both very much for keeping me sane ^_^

As for the rest of my friends, I hope to pull out of this funk and change. For the better.

Wow, what a week it has been!

I went to the local speedway with my dad and some co-workers last Thursday, where we had a couple beers and watched super-muscle cars race around a dirt ring. Man did I feel like I redneck!

Friday and Saturday I helped my dad build a deck in the backyard, where I learned some fundamentals to carpentry. More and more I'm starting to like carpentry

I also saw the list of Film-related courses for next year's university semester. I was blown away!
Here are some of the many options I have:
-Filmmaking I
-Film Comedy
-Production I
-Voice and Diction
-Script and Screen
-Light & Sound in Production

I assure you that I'm going to be taking all of these courses next year!
lol, I also noticed that there is a 4th year course for Directing, so I'm going to work my way up to that

Aaaaand finally, I went to The Ex today with some friends (it's basically a big carnival they set up every year).
It started off very well; we went on some fun rides, shared mini-donuts and won some prizes.

But, unfortunately for me, the fun would not last...

I went on this water log ride, where you sit in this car floating on water and drop down a slide. When we hit the bottom of the slide, the water knocked my glasses off!
They stopped the ride and looked for the missing glasses, but to no avail; my glasses were lost

Now, as some of you may know, this is a huge problem.
I'm blind as a bat. No exaggeration. *styrecat can vouch for my mole vision -_-
I had to get a friend to drive my car home, and most of the day I felt sick.

See, my left eye is worse than my right eye; it can't focus as well as my other eye, and they're both pretty bad to begin with. So, without my glasses, my eyes strain, fighting with each other to focus on one thing. I can't look at things straight, and it gives me a headache to keep my eyes open.

Well, all good things come to an end eventually, right?
I'm going to an optomitrist friend tomorrow to try to get a new pair of glasses. After that I'm going to book an appointment to get contacts. I think I look better without glasses anyway

lol, well I should go to bed. Gotta rest up for the 4 day weekend next weekend!

Why yes I do...a fat *$#@ing swollen lump, that's what's in my mouth

Well, the operation was a success; all four of my wisdom teeth have been removed, there are no infections or complications, and I had the best nap of my life (being sedated is great )

Fortunately, I'm in no physical pain whatsoever, but I'm in a different kind of pain...

I can't eat

I found out that my bottom left tooth was deep in the gums, so the surgeon really had to dig deep for it. From all the pushing and scrapping, the left side of my mouth is significantly larger than my right (in fact, the swelling on my right side is almost gone. Wow!)

However, the left side is so swollen that I can't touch my teeth together, meaning I can't chew at all.

Oh man, what I would give for a nice fat steak T__T

What's worse is that I've missed 3 events this weekend because of my operation. All my friends are having fun, and I'm stuck at the country home. And it just so happens that I forgot my cell phone charger at the apartment and my phone is dead. This sucks

But I guess today isn't as bad as yesterday, when my gums wouldn't stop bleeding. It almost made me gag! xP

Well, on the plus side, I am getting some writing done and I'm enjoying my new game: Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII for the PSP. If you have a PSP, I highly recommend you get this game!

In addition to that, my great friend *styrecat is going to The Red River Ex with me next weekend, so we should both have a good time. Looking forward to that

I guess I should go lie down some more. I should be finished taking my pills by Monday and most of the swelling should go away tomorrow.

Today, I think I discovered why.

Just today, in the local newspaper, during lunch break, I read this article: [link]

I was outraged! So much I found it hard to concentrate for the rest of the day.

In case you skipped the article, here's the basic synopsis:

Almost 3 years ago, Crystal Taman was killed by an off-duty police officer, driving drunk in his truck.
Crystal was stopped at an intersection, with her tail lights and traffic lights in full view of approaching vehicles, when a drunk cop rear-ended her at full speed, resulting in her wrongful death.

The off-duty drunk openly admitted it was his fault and refused a breathalyzer test, which should have made this incident a simple one.

Well, things turned out different...

The Taman family's lawyer assured the family that this case is open-and-shut and that he had more than enough evidence to make sure the cop got jail time.

Now, almost 3 agonizing years after Crystal's death, ALL DRUNK DRIVING AND BREATHALYZER CHARGES WERE DROPPED BY THE COURTS!!

What the hell is wrong with this picture?!
He was clearly, undeniably guilty of killing Crystal Taman, and they drop the charges and let him walk away free?! *EXPLOSION*

And this is when I realized why I'm scared of the police:
They can do anything to me, and get away with it.
They're almost untouchable.

They'd make better mobsters than law-enforcers.

So, thank you so much for making me feel safer in the city

^{Which is why I'm writing this journal entry...}

Well, I was going to get some writing done this month, look at deviations and answer your comments...but things have changed...

I think saying "I'm going through a crises" is too strong of a statement, but it's along those lines; numerous incidents have occurred and I've been put under a lot of stress.

So I'm not making any promises. I don't know when I'll have deviations up and I don't know how soon I can talk to all of you, but I'll do my best

Saturday afternoon my dad is taking out the ol' furnace chimney; my parents are getting a new electric thermal furnace installed (or something like that ), so the smoke-stack has to go. Should be fun

We also have company spending the weekend at our apartment...again...for the third time -__-

I'm also trying to take care of my roommate, *styrecat, who just recently had all 4 of her wisdom teeth removed [link]
She's not feeling too well, but she's on her way to recovery ^^

I still hope to get some writing done, but no promises (seems every time I make a promise, something big comes up that forces me to break it ).

Well, this certainly lightens my mood; just last night, my poor Betta fish died from unknown reasons I thought I did everything right, but I guess I'm not meant to have fish as pets...or pets in general xP

Also, on a sadder note...
As some of you may know, I submitted several articles from my dA gallery to be published in a university student collection of stories...and I just got the word back: DENIED
Their note said that 'the themes for your stories were very universal and can relate to a great number of readers...but, because we already read a lot of stories of the same writing style, we challenge writers to write about the old in a new style.'
If I would've been told this, I probably would've written better articles -_-
In any case, they still said they loved my stories and should definitely continue writing and pursuing other options.
Besides, I still have my watchers, right?

Well, I have more stories brewing and I intend to check out my watchers' galleries and see what they have been up to

I'm very excited about this and can't wait to go look at apartments. I may even be able to score a house if I'm lucky! lol

lol, it's actually a movie my sister made for her computer class, but she asked me to submit it. She wrote, drew and directed the entire thing; all I did was add the character voices

This is the boy, Matthew Shepard. On October 7, 1998 Aaron McKinney and Russell Henderson lead him to a remote area east of Laramie where they demonstrated unimaginable acts of violence. Matthew was tied to a split-rail fence where he was beaten and left to die in the cold of the night. Almost 18 hours later he was found by a cyclist who initially mistook him for a scarecrow. Matthew died on October 12 at 12:53 am at a hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado. KILLED BECAUSE HE WAS GAY!!!

It feels so good to write again!

My newest deviation is the prologue to a new spy series I'm writing called Harkum. I'm a little worried about it because, as some of my earliest devWATCHers know, whenever I start writing a story series I always abandon it and it never goes any farther

I'm hoping this one will be different and will become my first complete series. ^^

I also have some other ideas for series, including a fan-fiction for the Xbox 360/PC game, BioShock. I'm also thinking of adapting an idea of mine into fiction...
The talented *Dusk-Wolf has generously been drawing concept sketches of characters from an anime idea I had. After viewing her great art, I felt that it would be cool to supplement her art with the anime's story so people see the full picture.

lol, today was the last day of my university's first term, and I'm very pleased with how it ended; I had to perform a scene from Henrik Ibsen's A Doll's House in my Theatrical Performance class, and I'm happy with how it turned out [I played Torvald Helmer, for those of you who have read or seen the play ]

Wow, for once I don't have to worry about anything this week ^^
This gives me a lot more time to talk to other deviants and catch up on new deviations (if my parents don't work me to death XD)

One thing I'm going to focus on is the club =cut-devil4 and I have been trying to get off the ground: ~DA-Anonymous
I also hope to make a film that will prove me worthy of deviantART Film status

Oh, I also added something to all of my literature deviations. I think it's kinda cool...but it may be a little too much for some deviations...

Well, for now, I'm gonna go get some shut-eye

XD lol, I just felt I should've updated my journal

Don't you just love alliterations? lol
How is everyone doing? I realized I haven't spoken with some of you for some time, and I'm hoping to get in touch with all of you during the holidays ^^
...but that may prove to be a little difficult

Since I am a university student, my bank account is slowly starting to drop D:
So, to my dismay, I must work through the holidays
XD lol, but I will do my best to find time for deviantART in December


Why has Christmas come so early? It's still November, yet I already see every house showing off their Christmas lights and they had Santa visit the mall a couple weeks ago! CHRISTMAS ISN'T HERE YET, FOLKS! XDD lol, I'm just ranting


One thing I've noticed when it comes to Fan-Fiction is that almost every story is written the same:
Sonny and Philux felt tired, so they decided to go to Higgsbury Town and stay at Ziggy's Inn. They had just enough munny, so they could afford to splurg one night.
There are no explanation of characters or setting.

Now I realize games like Kingdom Hearts and anime like Naruto are very well known, so a lot of people can understand what's going on in the story. But to some readers (like me) they have no flippin' clue what's going on.
I really hope no fan-fiction writers take offense; I am in no way insulting fan-fiction or their writers. Fan-fiction can be well-written, and I know that the target audience of these stories is people who actually read/watched/played what the story is based on, and not everyone. I just think that the genre could include a broader audience; both fans of the franchise and new readers can understand and enjoy the story

For a long time, I have been secretly plotting to write a fan-fiction of my own, but I could never find a franchise that I was comfortable with; I wanted to make a brand new story in an established setting, not just a small side-story within the larger story (for example, writing a short story in the Cowboy Bebop universe that would occur in between episodes). I want to write a story that either takes place before the main story of a franchise or after.

I think I finally found the perfect setting for my fan-fiction...

It's still under wraps because this project could turn out horribly wrong lol

Wow, what a night last night XD My aunt and I had devised a plan to earn a buttload of money from VLTs by cashing out every time we earned more than we put it. It worked great last year...but not so good this year

lol, me and my dad also discovered our new favourite shooters: The Jackhammer.
It combines tequila and Jack Daniels You'd think that would be a horrible combination...but it was actually pretty good

Anyway, yesterday was fun, and I got some nice goodies: Dane Cook DVD the biography of Ian Fleming (I actually want to make a movie of his life one day), a stand for my trombone, and THE FLCL SOUNDTRACK! LOL, I love The Pillows!

As I look at the time, however, I realize what day it is today: November the 11th. As some may or may not know, this is a very important day in Canada. Today is Remembrance Day.

As has been tradition for nearly a century, at the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month, everyone in Canada will stop what they are doing and stand in silence for two minutes.

This day was made to commemorate and honour the lives of the many soldiers lost during the wars that have been fought, specifically the First World War. We stand in silence on November 11th of every year at 11:00 am because that was the time WWI ended, and marked a change for our country; in 1919, after the war ended, Canada became an independent country.

On Remembrance Day, we honour those brave young soldiers who gave their lives and faced the horrors of war to defend our rights and make our country what it is today. If it wasn't for their great sacrifice, the world would look a lot different than it does today.

So I wear my poppy with pride and thank those brave soldiers who fought and died to protect my way of life. I am truly proud to be Canadian

lol, anyway, my English teacher introduced the class to a really cool thing that's going down at the university...

Every year, young university writers submit their literary works, and the best ones are selected and published in a story collection book called JUICE.

So, I've decided to go through some of my old stories and see if I could submit any. I'm also gonna write new material to publish, and see what I can come up with ^^

I'm thinking of submitting One Side of the Fence. So if you guys have any suggestions on how I can clean up my work that would be greatly appreciated

Oh, and I realize that I haven't been reading any literature lately. I'm really sorry about that But I do intend on checking out the galleries of my watchers

I finally got my hands on both Death Proof and Planet Terror! I'll be watching those 50 times XDD

I'm also anxious about the upcoming film premieres of That's right folks; for my studio, I'll be submitting a double feature premiere!

The first film is sort of a tribute piece to deviantART...I'm not sure how else to describe it without giving too much away XDD

The second film isn't an ordinary film; it's more of an avant-garde type movie. What I mean by that is that there is no actual film footage in the movie. It is a cinematic adaptation to one of my darkest deviations.

Of course, things may change; there may be an error in submitting the films to deviantART, or I may be rejected (worst case scenario ). So, I'm not only excited, but a little nervous as well xD

I anticipate these films will be released within the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned!

Wow, am I excited!
I'm thrilled to hear about deviantART Film!
As some of you may or may not know, I'm not only a writer, but a filmmaker. I have lots of script and movie ideas locked away in my computer, waiting to be produced.
With the arrival of the new film category on dA, I'll be able to not only showcase my writing, but my films too (which is my biggest passion).

I'd like to include subtitles for my devWATCHers whose native language isn't English. So, any good translators out there?

Thank you all for your support.
After reading over Confession I realized how dark it was and was worried that it may scare some people.
For that I'm really sorry.

The gun is a metaphor for my decisions; the pressure in my mind is like the barrel of a gun pressing up against my temple. When I pull the trigger it represents a decision I have made. Like suicide, the tension is released and the pressure disappears.

But I am not committing suicide and I'm certainly not promoting the idea of suicide. Confession is put under non-fiction because it is a collection of my actual thoughts and feelings.

Having said this, I am eternally thankful to all my friends who have supported me. deviantART is a big part of my life, and living without it is like living an uncomplete life. Thank all of you very much for your support and concern.

I don't know what I would do without you guys.

Please do not be concerned with me; I have told myself what I have to do, so now I have to do it. I need to reorganize certain aspects of my life, but I think I can manage. It may take time, but at least it's progress.

I can't even begin to tell each and every one of you how sorry I am.
I assured my watchers that with the start of university I would be fine; that I would be able to balance everything out.
But it's turning out to be a little harder than I thought I would.

I know I have unanswered messages, and people that want to talk to me; trust me, I so desperately want to talk to you too, but I haven't found the time.

It's mostly my fault. I'm a real fuck up. I let a lot of people down.

I'm actually writing this journal entry from a new locaton; university!
Yup, tomorrow is the official day that I start my university classes.
I'm really excited to see what the classes have to offer and what kind of things I'm going to be learning ^^

But that means that I may be busy for this week...but I shouldn't be too terribly busy (after all, I don't have classes Tuesdays or Thursdays )

This is a big step for me. Hope I can handle it!

Under the devWATCH tab...there are no more deviations!! WAHOO!!!

lol, sorry about that, but every since I took that trip to Halifax my inbox has been full of deviations (I'm talking in the hundreds T_T).

But, after days of persistence, I finally got through all of the WATCHers' deviations!

I must say I viewed a lot of great work; I was blown away by the story 'Mother' written by the very talented and was very impressed by the new additions to 's gallery

What a load off my mind!

Also, I managed to clean half the house today and do the dishes today, so I was productive both on and off the internet.

Well, now that I've gotten my inbox under control I can read new deviations more quickly and it won't take me so long to reply to your comments

Anyway, I know that's kinda useless information, but I'm just glad that I got organized again

Oh, by the way, for anyone who is watching ; she's coming back...very soon

4. Sadly, I'm working on several scripts, but have yet to finish a full script ready for production
