Personally, this summer has been great so far. French lessons are going fine, leisure time is well spent, and I've been able to do things that I've been meaning to do but never got the chance to until now. I've actually watched TV, seen films that needed to be seen, spent time with friends, and somehow managed to read nearly 30 books; all things that were pretty much impossible to do during the school year. Aside from minor things, the future looks pretty good right now and I'm enjoying myself. I do miss seeing all you guys every day and having a more concrete routine though. Regardless, after a most stressful freshman year, this summer has been downright lovely.

Well, I'll be leaving this Saturday for three weeks. I'll be spending some good quality time with my sister, and some well deserved time off from my parents.

So yeah. That's how life's going.

BTW, I miraculously accomplished a great goal of mine: Reading the Harry Potter series in less than two days. My meals consisted of Red Bulls, granola bars, and fruit. I also didn't sleep. I realise that I'm a bit mental for even trying it, but eh...It's summer; I rarely sleep anyway!

Was in the hospital for most of it. If I wasn't there, then I was at my grandparent's house. I recently found out that my gramps was diagnosed with cancer, so I went over there for support and all that. It's been a while since I've seen him, so it was good to do so. There was just this really sad feeling though. Know what I mean?

Anyway. I made up my mind. I am going to try, and give it my all in being a more happy person. I'm going to try to not be so pessimistic about things. I definitely don't want to be happy-go-lucky though. I just want to be a bit happier, and I think the first thing I should do is look at things in a better way.

Second, I am going to start being nicer to people. Kinda like the whole Free Hugs Campaign, I am going to try to say at least one nice thing to everyone I talk to. It's going to be sincere too. I don't like it when people pull the bs nice attitude with me, so why do it to others? People are hardly ever sincere anymore, nor polite, so I think it'd be good to try to bring that back.

IDK. I'm obviously still am going to bitch about stuff, and all that. But, hopefully I can do that less.

Meh. I kinda feel like things in my life right now are shifting. There are changes in the works that I can sense happening. Obviously, there's going to be a huge change in my family. I can feel a change happening with my friends too. I've recently made some really good friends, who are really great to talk to. But, the funny thing is, is that with my older friends, things are kinda falling out.

It's not like anything bad happened. At least I hope nothing did. I think now, we're kinda going our separate ways. We'll still be polite, and still talk when we can, and all that. But, I doubt we'll be actively seeking each other out.

Ever happen to you guys? It's a shame, but it's bound to happen, and I'm okay with that.

Um...Changes in school too. Hopefully, I'll get better at geometry and proofs. It's getting easier, but still a struggle. In English, things are starting to move along, and we're doing actual stuff. In French, I can't wait to dive into the book, and go onto talking more about past tense stuff.

And, Orchestra is orchestra. Although, I've got to practice more if I want to make it in Chamber!!!

Oh yeah, and debate. (THERE'S TOO MUCH WORK!!)

It's pretty crazy that I've survived a whole semester of high school without incident. I would say that I'm pretty proud. LOL Not really, I'm more surprised than anything.

I hope that as the semester ends, I'll still continue to have classes with the people who I like, and with the ones that I've started some pretty good friendships with this year. Hopefully, I'll meet more people that I can be friends with and get to know. There's thousands of kids at AHS, so there's a good possibility.

Thinking back on it, and on how 2008 went, with all the drama in my family, the drama with my friends, and how I transitioned from middle school to high school, (don't forget the drama in the world), I really hope that things go much more smoothly in 2009. For all of us.

Right now, as I'm sitting here, in my room and typing this (and procrastinating on my government homework), I feel a calm coming. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like as this year gets deeper into 2009, and we're all starting out new classes, and getting out of winter etc, things are going to be much more steady, much more paced. We'll all know what's headed our way. Does that make any sense? IDK. I think I've just started to ramble there.

On a much lighter note, let's talk about highlights. I had my debate today...the one that I was supposed to have tomorrow. I think my partner and I owned. It was a debate on weed. Wasn't very fun, but I'm pretty sure we won. I shall see tomorrow.

OH YEAH! I recently finished two books. I'm pretty happy about that. Hopefully, when I start hon English, I'll have more time to read! *YAAAAAY!!!* I really miss reading. It's been ages since I've been able to sit down for a day and just read. Books =

Anyway, being new to dA, I hope that I'll be able to go on more and learn the ropes of using this site. And occasionally, post up anything that I've done and liked. Or at least, moderately liked. I already have an idea for something else to get started on, so even if it may be awhile, there will be more. I don't really care if anyone likes what I do, I just really want to grow as an artists and be able to develop my skills. I know I have the ability, but I've never really pursued this type of art before. So, it's pretty new.
