Sure has been a while, hasn't it? Well, college got the best of me in these last few months. But now that that's done and over with (say hello to your new college graduate!), I can now focus on stuff here (well, at least until I start the next chapter of my life, whatever that may be).

So I'm now in the process of updating and adding new works from the last few months or so. It's funny since during the last few months of school, I completed a good amount of drawing for classes, but I think that some of my best works came about when I wasn't in my art classes. You get so bored of general education classes (more like, any classes not related to your major) that you just drift off and do something else. It all worked out, though. I passes all of my classes, I now hold a bachelor's degree and I'm living the post-college life.

I was over at Anime Expo '09 earlier this month and ventured through Artist's Alley. After seeing some of the work posted there, it really inspired me to get back onto my good ol' dA account. I also met a few cool artists (I have your business cards!! ^^) and saw what it was really like in the Artist's Alley of these events. I'd really like to have a table there for next year. Gotta get working on it now!

Speaking of cons, the Holy Grail of cons is this week - Comic-Con International 2009! It didn't really hit me until recently... maybe it's because it's become second nature to me. I hope to meet more artists (especially at the Portfolio Review area) and get some feedback on my new works. Hope to see you all there!

I finally won my first art contest! It was courtesy of Suvudu.com and it was to draw a self-portrait in anime form. I was one of four grand prize winners and, to be honest, I didn't think I had a good chance of winning (I never really do these contests to win, anyway), but I was just honored... . I am now working on the huge logo contest dA is holding. Even though I swore to never do anything type-related ever again (after my traumatizing time in Type 1 in my junior year of college), I think I have a good chance of winning. Having the basics of Typography beaten in me (senselessly, I should add), I stand a chance. And talk about that prize... $2,500!! I won't have to work again! For a few months, anyway.. .

One more thing... 500 visits!! Thanks, everyone! I'll have a special drawing to commemorate! Hope to see you all (and many more) at 1,000!

Let's see.. I got an autograph/drawing from famed illustrator Yoshitaka Amano, got to see Bleach creator Tite Kubo in his North American debut, and I got my portfolio reviewed by not one... BUT TWO industries: Cartoon Network and VIZ Media. I had Rob Renzetti (animation director, writer.. all of the above.. ^^) review my stuff for CN and he said that it's good so far... I just need more range/versatility besides the anime/manga style. VIZ Media was a little different since I didn't know what they were looking for (all it said in the news article was that they were going to look at everyone's work). Turns out that they are looking for artists with drawings of full-figure humans... which I didn't have in my portfolio at the time... dang.

At least I know now what to work on for next year... less than 365 until Comic-Con 2009! Time to get to work!

I'll be posting some new work within the next few weeks or so. I'm saving up for a tablet and my aim is to get one before the end of the year. Or maybe ask for one during the holiday season...

I'm getting my portfolio ready for Comic-Con International 2008 here in beautiful San Diego (hence the editing of some works and working on a few new ones). And just getting ready for the event in general (saving up money to buy some awesome merchandise and such). If you're going, I hope to see you there!

Well, I'm still trying to figure out this whole thing here. I just got an account a few months ago and I'm now just putting up work. You have no idea how hard it is to find a working scanner around here.

There's just going to be sketches and random thoughts on here for now. Once I get around it, I'll put up my larger scale works. 'Til then, enjoy!
