I just want every one to know that I haven't forgotten about this place. I am trying to come up with some ideas for PR . The holiday has kept me kind of busy as well. But I have some ideas that I will be letting you in on soon. In the mean time I have a big favor to ask, spread the word about ~TheZone

On a separate note, a lot of people seem to be rather apprehensive about the fact that we ask people not show the works the submit to us in their own gallery. My response to that is to look at from the perspective that The Zone is an art gallery. When you show your work in an art gallery your most likely not going to be able to show your work at other places that could include your own website. This is the case for the The Zone we are not taking ownership of the work and we do credit you as the artist in the artist comments section. I hope this helps to alleviate some of the concern for perspective members. On a related note I hope that some of our current members will submit some new things soon.

We're Back!

After being out of commission for over a year I am now going to recommit to this group and try to breath new life into it. I am asking all those who are member to help me out and submit something new. And to those who watch us to consider join our little band of misfit artists. I have pasted below the guide lines and the description of the group if you have any questions feel free to either comment on this journal or send a not to the group. I plan on adding new submission every week. There are two other administrators for this group but I fear they are far too busy to help right now. (If I am mistaken about this please let me know.) In the mean time I have posted a new piece of art to the gallery in the hopes that it will encourage other.

=emailartist26 here I figured it would be a good idea to update this journal before it gets too outdated Anyway I guess I am the only one right now who has time on their hands so I am pretty much gonna manage things here untill the others (managers) let me know otherwise. Things have gotten pretty quite here only a couple of us have been submitting work and I would like to see more members submit stuff. So please send us some work. When you submit work it is beneficial for everyone; The group is more active and gets more visitors (and possibly more members). The artists who submit work get more activity on their own page, because the group expose their work to a larger audiance, and everyone gets to enjoy the beauty of the male figure.

On a related note to the new members I would like to remind some of you that when you submit work to ~TheZone it should not apear in any other gallery but this one (including your own) The reason for this is to make the groups gallery seem a little more special than other groups simelur to it by giving it a nitch. Don't think of it as ~TheZone owning your work but rather on a temporary loan. Work can be submitted by sending jpg files to ~TheZone's gmail account
thezonesubs@gmail.com please also provide the title of the work and name or deviant id of modle otherwise I will assume that it is a self portrait. Just one other thing to think about too. ~TheZone currently has around 200 watchers now, that is quite an audiance to have at your disposal.

I want to take a quick moment to send a big thanks and hugs to all those who have; faved the work, watched us, and commented on the work here at ~TheZone I will try to responed to every in the future.

It has come to my attention as well as the attention of the other members of the administration here that we have a serious problem. A very dire thing indeed. It seems that we all have not been keeping =mragrimm busy enough. Thats right, this guy has not had enough submissions to sort through. So I implore you all, please, send us you art because he really needs to earn his keep. Besides, he gets a spanking if he doesnt earn his keep... or was that a spanking if he did earn his keep?

A Sad Day For Fans Of The Male Nude

We here at TheZone have some sad news for fans of the male nude.

Only days ago TheZone had a deviation removed for a supposed policy violation. The violation was vague and unexplained at first. It quickly became clear that the deviation was in violation of no publicly posted dA policy. The specific of the policy is that dA considers any display of an erect penis to be pornographic and thus not artistic. However, this is written nowhere in the nudity policy.

This has not only happened here.

The wonderful and beautiful `arachnid15 had a piece removed for the very same violation. However, this is not a new policy here at dA. Quite some time ago several nudes were removed from the gallery of *EaterOfTheDead for the very same reason. We are sure that the very same thing has happened elsewhere many times.

So this is a call to arms from us to you, our loyal army of penis fans. We ask that every one of you seek out those responsible for the nudity policy and demand clarification. Having a deviation removed because of a policy violation is frustrating and discouraging. It is important to know what the rules are so that artists can be careful about them. As the rules stand right now they are vague and misleading. This is not a new policy and there is no excuse for the rules to be so unclear.
