They canceled school 'till friday.

pff, but leave it up to Batavia to fuck that up.
They randomly posted something on Tuesday at 1pm saying that we had to go back to school on Wednesday.
but they posted it on their website.
TEACHERS didn't even notice it.

pah, so Wednesday was a total fail. But most of us managed to show up because the news spreading like wildfire on facebook.

Hm, IN OTHER NEWS-
A few friends and I went to the Literary Fest for our school's conference aaaaaand
I won Critic's Choice for the Dramatic Scene category for something I had written the night before the entries were due.

(I just realized that I had spelled critic as critique on facebook. OH GOD. WHY DID I WIN.)

[for those of you who don't know, that's like the EMPEROR of awards for a category. lol.]
A few other people I know won some cool awards too.

UH, HM- My school's prom is tomorrow.
tomorrow is also my birthday.
yay.


btw- if any of you want a new band to check out, I recommend Ratatat.
They're like instrumental hip-hop, but they've got some really good tracks.
So far, all of the albums I've come across are good, but if you don't like rap then don't look at their remixes.
So I guess, it's like a hip-hop beat with some wicked organ and guitar layered on top. XD;;

Everyone's making such a big deal about it. (yeah, sorry for all the people who have died from it so far, but there haven't been THAT many to deserve this much attention.)

Anyway, my school got closed for tomorrow- all extra curricular activities, parades (we had one planned for sunday), the local 'Open Mic' Night at the Panera-
those have all been canceled.
Things wont start back up 'till Monday.

They had actually closed the middle school today and tomorrow, since some kid had a ' probable case' (which apparently by the state health department is like a 99.9% chance of it being Swine Flu.)
Today some kid was puking his guts in the bathroom- he went home and now he's a ' probable case', although the state needs 2 days to actually get the test results back.

Now everyone else isn't allowed to 'congregate in large groups' and all that good stuff.


O lawd- I'm just glad I get a day off of school. I had like, 4 papers due for tomorrow and a project I'm no where NEAR finishing. XD;;


Hm- well that's really all that's been going on in my life right now.

Oh, it's also my birthday next saturday.

I went to Washington DC on a trip for band and got to bum around the capitol[wasteland] for a few days. 13-14 hours on a bus both ways. [that was the fun part. ]

uh, I think I grew a little taller, but I don't think I've ever really informed anyone about my height.
(5'10") ... or something close to that. I don't measure myself. [HA, THAT'S AN INUENDO.] [... but I'm a chick, so I guess it doesn't count in the end.]
I lost weight, but I don't know my starting weight or what I am now. I just know that I lost some. [this is an eventful update, isn't it?]

UH, I've gotten more ideas for my stories, but Snow on Mercury in particular. [the one with Kaine. :<]
OH, I GOT PERSONA 4 THE OTHER DAY AND IT'S AWESOME. IF I WASN'T ASEXUAL I'D OFFER MY POTENTIAL CHILDREN TO THE PROTAGONIST. lol. Maybe not to that extent, but it's still a fun game.

I'm pretty content with life in general, 'cept for my dog now being dead. :<
Yeah, Rosko, at the prime age of 4, was euthanized last Thursday at 3:25pm. That dork shouldn't have bit people. [of course, now I'm unbelievably lonely on weekends when everyone's working, waking up and no one being home but the cat.]

I dunno if it counts as a dream, 'cause I was more or less hallucinating at the time. Um, I woke up two nights ago in pain from my mouth and I was looking for my medication bottle while still half asleep I guess. And there was another me telling me why I should/shouldn't take the medication. They/I couldn't make up my mind so they/I kept rambling about the medication and how it'd make it all go away. So I took a pill with a few swigs of water and went back to sleep.

UH. kinda, not really. I was just at school and I talked to someone I havent talked to in a while.

FUKKEN QUIZNOS. :< uh, and solid food. But I'm not really all that hungry anymore.

The weather today was labeled as "blizzard conditions" from sometime yesterday to 6 or 7pm today, so it's really windy
and really cold.

Anyway, the average temperature today was around -30°F with windchill. [I believe my thermostat said it was about 1°F this afternoon when I woke up.]


But my parents and I just had to make a mad dash for all the bottled/canned things in our garage. Everything was already frozen and on the verge of exploding, so it was a close call. [I've got a glass of slushy diet coke with me right now.] So everything's piled and stacked in our laundry room/hallway and it's really really cold.

But anyway. That's my weekly weather update. I hope all of you in warmer climates are enjoying your weather.

passed out later.

AHHH- We got Fallout 3 the other day. [after mike came over with that, Little Big Planet <- fun as shit, and Rock Band Dos(2).] It's fun. When we go on the D.C. trip, I'm half expecting to see some super mutants or something.

But I was watching the news like, a day or two ago-
and apparently, I now live in a disaster area. Declared by the state and federal government.

Funny thing is, there's nothing wrong where I live. Sure, some basements got a little flooded, but it's nothing too extreme. All the water's gone now, people got over it- we've all pretty much accepted the shit and flushed the toilet.

I thought it was funny, hearing it on the news. Announcing it like it was nothing, "oh, and the state declared the following counties as disaster areas."

we've had rain for the past 2 days straight [no joke.]
'Tropical Storm' Ike is supposed to hit tomorrow, and I'm not doubting the chances.

I have this big retention pond right behind my backyard that connects to a creek and some marshes- but in the past day, the shore line for the pond has gone up at least 4 feet, broken over the dam [we call it the levy. lol, we've got some muskrats here too,] and flooded my next door neighbor's backyard.

Things are really epic.
I cant walk outside in my yard without wearing big rubber boots. One reason for the water, second for the fact that all the ants and bugs are now crawling around for anything that's above water. [I saw an island of ants floating around near the pond's edge. It was amusing.]

Either way, the river in the middle of the town is up to the bottom of the bridge, and there's a bridge over another creek that's entirely underwater. At least 4-5 inches under, I want to say even 6 or 7.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to more non-stop rain till Tuesday.

We didnt really do much-
first couple days were like normal.
we ran errands and sat around the house.
Niki came over eventually- we chilled.
She left.
Days went back to normal.

Eventually we went to grandmas.
The one out in the middle of nowhere.
Went out on an adventure since there was nothing to do
inside.
Found some woods-ish.
Walked/ran around. Talked about zombies
and mortality.
Came back to grandmas- messed with
chelsea's new laptop. [after she put Ubuntu on it.]
trying to get it to work properly.
[it's fixed now.]

Next day- went to a county fair.
Bigger than the state fair, btw. [doesnt make much sense.]
Saw giant rabbits. Fukken huge.
A little bit bigger than a Labrador puppy-
pretty cute as far as rabbits go.
Saw some carnies,
got sold expensive cheap food,
teased some scene kids,
watched horse races,
sat on benches,
left.
Got back to grandmas
sat around on couches and silently
willed
our parents to leave.
We left eventually- drove back to our house,
got some local pizza
watched 21.

Yesterday, Tegan, Niki and Kassey came over-
went shopping, got Chelsea some new clothes.
Played dress up, basically. [she did. We just kept finding more clothes for her to try.]
After finding a few shirts and pairs of pants,
got some icecream at cold stone. [I paid for most of it, but niki went ahead and paid for herself. ]
Threw around some 'Lardigans' jokes and
talked/reminisced/bitched about student council.

Waited in Barnes & Noble for my brother to come pick us up.
Read a little into love and fortune-
went back home. Bummed around, played some SH2 [tegan did, I just read some of the faq for her when needed.]
eventually we found ourselves forced to go outside.
so we went to the park.
It was dark, by then.
Beautiful full moon-
we just hung around the swings
till some people started setting off fireworks.
[insert random yelling from us; 'AH, MY EYE!' 'MY BABY! WHERE'S MY BABY?' 'AIR RAID!']
after some good lulz,
we headed back-
singing like a bunch of Irishmen straight from the pub.

Got back home, calmed down a bit-
the others had to leave. [it was around 9-o'clock.]
The rest of us sat around,
parents went to sleep.
Fixed Chelsea's laptop,
played some Oblivion and achieving a 800,000 [at least] bounty after going around the imperial city and ra[ging]mpaging.
Stayed up till 7am-
when they had to leave.


It was nice just being together,
but now I'm sick.
and tired.
I might take another nap today,
but I'm seeing Tropic Thunder at 6:45.

It's been about a week since my school let out, just to inform you all.
I haven't been on the computer in a while-
or at least, been on to do something productive for longer than a few minutes.
[Though, this isn't in that qualification either.]

I havent been doing much yet. Sort of shell shocked, I guess.
I know what I want to do over the summer, thinking of writing a list so I dont forget, but I cant bring myself to do much of anything.

I cant even write a fucking journal, man. I've just sat here for 5 minutes staring at the screen- doing absolutely nothing. My bottom lip is a total mess now too- trying to break a habit is hard, and I think trying to break it is only making it worse. Fuck, I'm doing it again.

I'm listening to a series of 4 CDs I made for my story that I WILL get done, letting each scene play itself over in my head with each song.
I did write- I've done a few sketches of characters too. I'm not happy with Quince's picture though- I couldnt get her right. Of course, I haven't really gone into any detail with her- she's barely been in the story.
All I know is that she's younger than the others; 16 I think.

Whatever- Congrats to my lovely cousin for graduating yesterday~
or at least that's what I was told.
Haven't talked to her yet, lol.
One year more for me though-

We were driving past my school yesterday when we were dropping the Ginger off, and they're starting on the reconstruction. [our school is over-populated so they're making it bigger.]
But so far, they just moved the mobiles to the front of the school and added a few more onto the cluster.
lol, so much for a new school.
[knowing Batavia construction workers, they're not going to be done with it for about 5 years. Like, they were fixing the bridge that was in the MIDDLE of downtown Batavia- the only bridge in Batavia that connects the west and east. They said it'd only take like 6 months. It took them 2 WHOLE YEARS to do it. I never saw fucking workers on that bridge for more than 2 days in a row. Then they'd take a week or so off and then come back for 2 more days.]
It's ridiculous.

But whatever. I've only got a few people I know on that side of the river. they're not that important.
lol, kidding.

Anyway. I think my brother got the new MGS today, pre-ordered it from the GameStop. I think I might go down to check that out.

Next year, I'll be a senior, taking every art class this school has to offer, including Art Exploration which is basically just Independent Art.
Creative Writing, Humanities, Psychology, Sociology, Government-

Consumer Ed. I really don't know why this is required to graduate; as if we haven't been taught to be good consumers by today's society anyway.

hm- I think I'm taking Advanced Algebra, so I'll end up having more math credits than I need. [with humanities and creative writing, I'll have an extra english too.]

I'm still not really sure what I really want to do with my life, but I do have another year to think about it.
I know I'll be going out of the country in the next 2-3 years coming up. [Not actually moving, but taking a (long)trip there, yes.]


I'm excited for next year, but I know I haven't matured enough for life outside of high school yet- I'm on the border, really. I still cant leave this frame of mind behind me. That one thing that still makes me a teenager. I'll be ecstatic when I've finally broken through, and I'll be sure to tell you, but for the current time-
I'm still only a child.

I've been drifting in and out of reality recently- it's an odd feeling. One moment I'll be completely content and the next thing I know, it's like I've been slapped with a sheet of steel and left to bleed to death in a city gutter.

But hell, I'm getting out of school in 8.5 days,

Yeah, so I've been sick since Tuesday night, right? [started around 6-ish]
had an average temperature of 100.3
puked once- the rest of the time, it's been exiting
well,
not really a way I'd like to discuss.

But I've had this really bad pain in my chest,
I guess you could say it's at about the level of my heart.
[it's got nothing to do with my heart though, believe me.]
and- well,
it got reeeeally really unbearable last night.
fukken hell.
I had been reading this si-fi collection thing since Tuesday
and I couldn't help but think when I was lying on the hospital bed
crying [btw, I DON'T cry. THIS FUKKEN HURT.]
"what if I have some crazy alien thing growing inside me, and now it's gonna burst through my chest?"
lol, I wasn't seriously thinking that, I was just joking with myself to
make me feel a little better.
[they have this rating scale at the hospital for pain. I think I'll try to re-create it.]

goes from 1-10, 10 being the worst. they didnt have 10 faces on the chart. only 7.
[I was at a fukken 11, damnit.]
yeah, well, I had an IV in my arm by then, [they gave me two saline bags, completely open.]
since I'd been massively dehydrated from not being able to keep things down.
or at least, not enough to make up for what I was continuously losing.
so, they gave me one pain medication.
didn't really stop the pain, it just stopped my muscles from spazzing.
so theen, [here comes the fun part.]
they brought out the 'heavy guns' [I'm sure it's not really that 'heavy' but damn dude.]
fukken felt like someone whacked me over the head with a burning plank of wood-
just without the pain.
I was floating on cloud 9 man.
The miracle of drugs.
I think I could label that moment in time as the best feeling I've ever felt.
Ever.
yeah, then they gave me something to just stop my stomach from creating acid.
by the time this had rolled around, I was pretty close to being done with my 2nd IV bag, so after the bag was empty, they deemed me ready to go home with 3 medications.
one for my stomach acid, 2 for pain. [one of the pain pills is fukken huge.]
once I got home, I passed out in my bed. Didn't even change out of my clothes.
slept for 10 hours straight. *insert angel choir here*
that's more sleep than I've gotten since Tuesday combined.
I feel better now though. so don't freak out. I actually enjoyed my trip the the ER.
got a nice bracelet
and a hole in my arm. [the IV was wicked though- made my arm all cold and weird feeling. ]

but, too bad things can't be really easy, because my fucking period just started too.
[I don't care who knows that. This just sucks balls.]
yeah, some of my medications make me dizzy I guess. Or at least that's what the label warns. And 'drowsy'-
all I want is solid food though. But they made me stick to a bland diet for a few days.
guess I'll be munchin' on bananas, cheerios and soup for a while longer.

Hit really hard, no warning, no signs of stopping-
I was fine when I got home from school, but
suddenly I got tired.
exhausted.
wiped.

I trudged to my mother's room where I laid with her and watched TV
for 3 hours.
Didnt feel any better.
If anything, I felt worse.
By the time 10 o'clock rolled by-
I could barely stand
and drinking water
was out of the question.

After my sickness was observed by mum and dad-
I tried to sleep.
But, the people from GTA4
were talking to me.
Telling me how to avoid gang wars
or how to shake loan-sharks
or pick up whores.
Each action required a different position on the bed-
I rolled around till 2 in the morning,
when I realized how ridiculous it all was-
something about hippopotamuses being blue.


Woke up at 6- burning up again.
Came downstairs at 7- played GTA4.
Told my brother of my delusions.
He laughed,
I swallowed vomit.
I managed to drink water at around 4am
when I woke up in some unbearable sweat-
got some soup at 4pm.
I still feel like shit, still at 99.4°

Just thought I would share that bit of interest with you all.

Went to the city today- My cousin Matt is here and he wanted to go to Super Dogs... er Superdawgs[?]... anyway- some famous hot dog joint. Drove in- packed the car; three in the back seat, 2 in front, we're all listening to our mp3 players or the radio, occasionally swearing at traffic around us, but for the most part, each minding our own business.
Got to the hot dog joint- all of us ordered their famous dogs and a shake which, by the way, is supposed to be really thick, but they lied!
The shakes, in fact, were not too thick to drink through a straw.
I've had more trouble with shakes from Arby's

Well, after the hot dogs, we packed back into the car- traversed down the streets for a bit and admired the colliding cultures- missing our turn, did a u-turn, came back, got down the right way- continued to admire the city. After getting to the Best Buy [our final destination for the day with reasons I'll explain in a bit] we turned into the parking lot, but then decided we didn't want to stay there yet. Came back out, continued down the same street- I want to say it was Elston, then turned down ... Wabash- something, we had parked a while ago somewhere with an hour in the meter, so we walked down to the new Trump Tower they're currently building- took 45 minutes to walk there, so we booked it back, though we took a little bit of time to lean over the bridge rails as we crossed the Chicago river to bark at some geese.
Got back to the car with 2 minutes to spare- giving a longing glance at the social bar across the street- got back in and drove to the best buy again.

We waited for... 2 hours- no 3 hours. Or was it 4? I cant remember, but we bummed around the store for a long time, usually we sought comfort and sat in the 'home theatre' section and watched Planet Earth on a big flat screen TV, all of us splayed out on the large leather couch that was set out.

After watching through 2 cycles of the DVD- it was 5:30 and my mum and aunt decided to go wait at the set-up for the band that we had come to see play. We chatted around with the workers, fucked around with the Mac computer displays that they had- using their photo booth program to take stupid pictures- I played a round of Rock Band- playing the drum set with no bass pedal, [apparently they don't need them for the demos, making all of the songs ridiculously easy.] Then finally, as we ran out of things to do, the band played.
I think they played like 4-5 songs, it wasn't an actual concert, they were just coming to celebrate the release of their new album.

Overall, the day itself wasn't too interesting. Nothing exciting happened- no crazy bums on the street, though- I saw someone riding a bike and I thought- no, I could have sworn I knew them, but I couldn't remember their name and they continued going their own way, which by fate would have it, to a completely different area of the city.
On our way home, we decided to go get some Panda Express, and with a flurry of "douche' bags" and other vulgar words, we made it back.

Giving a speech on Monday, first block, first to go.

That should prove to be interesting.
So far every speech I give in that class, they progressively get worse each time.
I get points docked for being "too informal" and looking at the teacher too much, apparently. I barely look at her if any, so I don't know what she's talking about.

I was invited to put my work in the art festival that our city has in the summer. Three high school students are invited. Apparently, my artwork from my drawing class has been used as examples and now a lot of people know me.

I went shopping for clothes yesterday, Tegan, Cory and Niki came along.
we saw a pair of shoes in the parking lot. Just left there.
[I got a new pair, I wonder if those stained white tennies are jealous.]
There was a shopping cart sticking out of a mountain of ice and salt- pointing straight up to the sky.

Apollo Justice was epic. I beat it, though I really didn't want to. I realized as I was at the end of the 4th trial that I was almost done, so I put it off-
but, eventually I couldn't help but play.
I had nothing else to do.

I need to finish cleaning, and I think I'll practice my guitar for a while-
after I make a few calls.

I hate being sick in the summer, its hot, and I have a fever, and I'm too weak to move around... its just totally not pleasant.

It seems like some cold strand is going around the school, there were a few sick people in my art class along with my friends Kassey and Niki.

anyway, getting off of this horrible subject.
I havent been writing or drawing much as of late, school and having writer's/artist's block. [as usual.]
But, I've gotten the idea that I need and I'm officially starting back up Memory's Empire [previously known as Theta Orionis].
I'm happy to be starting that back up, I really REALLY want to finish it this time around.
I guess that once I've got the major plot work done with Memory's, I can work on the second book. [lol, I forgot what I was going to call it. like, Spirit's Empire? I dunno, something with Empire...... ]

ANYWAY. I get to design the t-shirts for the Sophomores in my school for homecoming this year. [I mean, not just me, a club I'm in, but I was the one who accepted the job. ] Their theme is like, monsters or something with "who goes bump in the night" as a catch phrase.
kinda lame, but I'll make a good one for them to look at.
I feel like a business or something. It's kinda cool.
... I feel like I'm rambling, so I'll sign off for now.
[I've been playing FFXII all day, lol, I need to return that to Kassey sometime. ]
