So it's been just a week out of Hero Con and it's still fresh in my memory. Always a great time reconnecting with old friends and even getting the chance to meet new ones. Went to the Friday night dinner which is where i met up with ~syrusb for the first time in person and she had that surprise sketching for me. Loved getting to meet her and talk it up over the weekend. She is a real sweetheart and just as much a smartass in person as online which didn't dissappoint. Also got to meet up with a long time friend named Sage who i have known for about 5 years now but never met. Got to see Red Gren get his gift from Justice drawn by my good buddy ~imagesbyalex and see the look on his face too lol. It was perfect.

Saturday's opening was the sneak peek into the next true expansion for City of called 'Going Rogue', looks to be awesome. Even having all the graphics updated for the newer systems in something they are calling ULTRA MODE. It's impressive trust me. Lots of great panels throughout the day and insight into certain aspects of the game and the business which is always great to attend. The Lan Room was a great place to see what the game is supposed to look like if you have an older computer. At the Banquet Saturday night i actually won something woot. Through the Raffle of course but it was a 60 day time card which really comes in handy these days lol. Then there was the costume contest which kinda pissed me off as i think =Pirate-Cashoo should have at least placed, she didn't and got an honorable mention but i was proud of her for getting up there. Lots of great pics came out of her wearing that great costume

Sunday was more Panels and a great surprise at the end for the certain members of the community that helped make the Con that much better. =david-nakayama was there throughout the weekend handing out free sketches from a raffle system, i tried but just couldn't get one again! ONE DAY I WILL HAVE A NAKAYAMA!!! Mark my words

All in all it was awesome! I had a great time and already looking forward to next years. There were a lot of pictures taken but i don't know how to insert them hee without it ruining the CSS for this journal....

Then this past weekend i got to welcome my Sassy home after a month of her being gone. So kinda been away and unavailable since then. Sooo happy to have her back!

HeroCon 10/24-10/25

So i am gearing up for another round of HeroCon fun. This year they are putting it on for 2 days. Looking forward to seeing what they have in store for us this time around. Especially something that will hold our attention for 2 days lol. This year it's going to be held at the Double Tree Hotel in San Jose California.

Though i am having a bit of angst about what i'll be doing there for 3 days with just around $100 and no room as of yet, I know it'll all be ok. I can sleep in the car if need be lol.

Anyways, looking forward to meeting some new people this year including a couple artists from the COH boards, ~syrusb and =Pirate-Cashoo among others like Sage form LOJ and of course all the usual suspects. This will be the third year for our meet and greets and it seems to get better every year. Really looking forward to it. If you are reading this and plan on being there, look me up! I'll probably be with the Justice crew or with my good buddy Tremorr at the bar

So there have been a few changes to the list over on the COH boards. After a heated debate and a lot of drama. Long and short of it is that Local Artists on the Network listing for COH get their own section. Plus i have added a 'Sales and Deals' section for global and a 'Sales and Deals' section for the local talent.

So all that has happened is that the list expanded. Just want you guys to know and keep bringing me those Sales and/or deals ya see out there. Also please keep me updated on your sales and deals if i have them listed below.

I believe i have all the replies back in now for the mass note i sent out so i will be updating the DA lsit accordingly. Thanks for the support after all this time. CA is nearing it's 2 year anniversary

Heya guys, been a while huh? I am just getting back into the swing of things after yet another long absence from being online. I had a run in with Swine Flu and it took me out of commission for quite a while there. Back to 100% now though and trying to get things updated including my online obligations. I hope everyone reading this has avoided the Swine Flu and have been healthy. I was kinda meh about it when i first heard about it. Sounded like media hype but i can tell you from experience, it isn't something to take lightly.

Anyways on to the good stuff. I have a couple of pieces to submit so after all this time these pieces cheered me up and of course i wanna share.

Commissionable Artist Network Update

OK i finally got the commissionable artists list updated both here and on the coh fanart boards. If you are an artist in the list this concerns you because i want to make sure it has your approval. Please go to this [link] and check your entry. What i have done is copy all the art onto a photobucket account named "commissionableartists" and posted all the links into that thread. The account is set to private so no one can go into it except to see the pics through the thumbs. That way i mimic the style we have here on DA. If this format is not ok with you please let me know and i will switch it back to links for your entry.

Apologies go out to cric, 7th-seal and wogule for being soo late to respond and get ya listed but i have ya there now. I would appreciate if there are any updates in your commission rates or choice of pics to represent you that you let me know soon so i can edit it in both places.

At the moment the list is down on Champions Online as the post was deleted. However i am working on updating that list and the one on COHGuru to keep the Network going.

If you have any questions about your listing please don't hesitate to ask me and I will respond as quickly as i get em! Hope the new COH update is suitable for all our artists and if you are a potential client i would recommend browsing the COH list as i have researched all the latest rates where i could and everything is up to date as of the date this journal is posted. King of Pop dies at 50

I was always a fan of the mans performance and his talent as a musician. I never really had a take on the child abuse charges only to say that his settling out for the first case was a measure of admission of guilt. What i want to remember him for is what he brought to us as a culture. He was more than an Icon. Though i don't know quite what else to name it other then the title he gave himself "The King Of Pop". Earlier in his career he made huge strides for humanitarian support from musicians being the author to "We are the World". He made MTV a success and introduced music videos as an art form to the world. He was a perfectionist and had THE greatest Album in history. No one has ever topped his record sells before or since. He is a permanent fixture in pop cultures conscious and will remain there throughout history.

I am a bit shocked by it honestly.

May you find some peace in death that you could never find or achieve in life. RIP MJ!

Farrah Fawcett (1947-2009)

Early this morning it was reported that Farrah Fawcett had lost her fight to cancer at the age of 62. This has been a very public battle for her and i think we were all ready for it to happen. She was certainly an icon all on her own and though MJ's death has made her death old news she deserves some measure of remembrance as well. I think at least 3 out of 4 male friends of mine had that poster on their wall growing up. She will certainly be missed.

FArt Contest rolls on!

So there is a contest i am running over on the COH boards and this month really has upped the stakes. The submissions are really off the charts and i am even more satisfied by the time i spend doing this. The theme for this month was called "recreation of a classic" where you take a classic piece of art and recreate it using COX characters. The entries are so awesome i just have to share so here ya go:

The above pieces really show you just how much talent is on the boards. Even at that it's just a fraction. Lots of stuff going on...

Man it's been forever since i have been on DA and I have to apologize if that affected anyone. Times are just getting tight. There is stress, worry, fear and everything else that comes from the unknown. I feel helpless in the face of the train coming. The recession has landed in my backyard and closer then i would like. Though I feel rich in every other area of my life. In 2 days i will turn 37 and I have never been more in love. Never felt closer to someone yet miss them so much as i do now. I also have the benefit of the love of her children which is a bonus i didn't expect quite so quickly.So all in all life is good. After all according to Lennon, Love is all ya need!

Coh Issue 14 and Booster

In other news and the other reason i have been absent lately, City of Heroes just released it's newest free issue called Architect and it allows you to create your own missions. It's an incredible addition to the game and completely ignited that old flame for me. I've been toying with it and actually made up a couple arcs. Arcs meaning one to five missions in a storyline. If you play the game then ya know what i mean lol. Also if you play the game i'd love for ya to give em a try. The 5 mission arc is back to the drawing table for now but i still have a "short" mission out there called "Bobby's Nightmare". Comments would be appreciated!

Also with the Issue came a booster pack that has allowed me to reinvent TA's magic side. It's pretty close to the original way i had always wanted him to look. I've posted some screenies in my scrapbook but here are some thumbs too:

Zombies and Sailor moons...

So i went away for a weekend and when i came back i found out that TA has been stretched from one genre to the other lol. Made into several colored versions of a "Pretty Sailor Moon TA" and then a surprisingly amount of TA themed entries for the March FArt contest over on the COH boards.

It's like culture shock only not....

I wanted to say thanks to everyone that watches,fav's, comments or just hangs around my page. I really do get a kick out of this community and hearing from you guys. 2 years and still going...

So before i head out for the weekend. I wanted to publicly acknowledge a landmark for and I. 2 years ago i took a chance and moved from Florida to California to be with her. Along the way we have certainly had our challenges(still do) but if i had to make the choice over again I would do it in a heartbeat. We actually fell in love with each other nearly 4 years ago and it's been a wild ride every since. For 2 years we were unsure if anything would ever come of it until this time 2 years ago when we just took the chance and trusted everything would work out. Besides the obvious financial difficulties it has and i have loved every minute of it.

Sassy i know i fall in love with you all over again every time i see you and i am looking forward to our future together. Happy Anniversary baby!

Thought i'd put the word out there. I get notes all the time about sales and deals going on. I'd like to start sharing them with all my viewers as well. I honestly can't take any of you guys up on the offers right now because life has given me a big bag of financial shit right now lol. After quite a long time having my money out there, thers still a couple artists that owe me art. These artists were paid in full years ago with little to no communication since. I'm not proposing a black list sort of thing(or maybe i am) but i want it to be known just how these artists handle business as a warning.

- I commissioned a piece from this artist almost 2 years ago. It was going to be a versus piece with my character and a good friends. I have had little to no contact from him every since. He has had me in his journal on the queue as paid since April of 2007(you can view the earliest posting here.). I just want either the art or the money. Even a note and an explanation would do at the moment...

- This company and i go way back. 3 years back btw. You know the pieces they have done for me because they are 2 of my most favorited pieces. One is always featured in my journal. Well 3 years ago i paid in full for several pieces. Over the years i meanaged to get a few of them trickling through here and there. However they still owe me art and a good sum of money(in the hundreds). We had an agreement in december that my money would be returned to me in January. Since our communication in January i havn't heard back from them. They have been putting out art over this time too. Emails go unheard.... I just want whats mine is all..

I am always searching around for information on and about commissions between artists and art lovers. Recently i started thinking about starting up a club called "Commissionable Artists", thats when i found this club..

A great resource for everything to do with the subject. Advice on transactions, a contract you can use, etc. etc.. If your serious about getting your name out there with more exposure go on over and check it out. I love the way they have created it. I don't think i would have done it as much justice.

Also i have been thinking of doing a list for the commissioners looking for artists. Anything i can do to get you guys together! I promise you if i ever get out of this hole i'll be right back into the commissioning game! Take my poll below and let me know!

Revision on a piece done for me.

Wanted to let you guys know about this. I strive to be accurate on all my pieces in giving each artist the correct credit and i recently found out that i wasn't doing that. It wasn't by any fault of mine though. I had originally thought that this piece was created solely by ~sjsegovia. However i found out that he did the pencils and inks then another artist did the colors. To sum it all up and to be clear:

Is DA going to hell?

Ok seriously whats going on around here? I know i am missing deviations in my messages. I am on the COH forums all the time and see all the art linked over to DA. Then i come over here and they don't show up for me . So for all those pieces out there that i am missing, i apologize for not commenting and potentially favouriting them as well. Not to mention all the spam going around. I do love the new format but if this is what we get in return then please roll the sucker back!

Plus i come across other QOL bugs throughout the new system. Anyone know where i can officially complain or rather report these problems at?

Commissionable Artists' 1st Anniversary

So about a year ago i decided that if i couldn't support artists anymore by commissioning them, then i would find another way. So I ran across a journal that had going and that is when CA was born in my journal. For my part there is 102 artists listed over 4 separate journals. All confirmed to still be taking commissions. It's been frustrating sometimes and there have been times where i didn't keep up on it as good as i could have but all in all i think it's been a success. If you have any experiences using the list or have any comments i always welcome them. I appreciate all the support over the year from the artists listed and as always i welcome new entries. Back from Florida

Just something to update the journal. Got back the 7th from Florida vacation that lasted for 3 weeks. It was great. Got to see most everyone i wanted to and even got surprised to meet up with a very close friend who i grew up with. Still shaking off the jet lag and trying to get back into the swing of things but i did manage to nab a couple pieces of art while i was away

Hawtness Returns!!

So due to the generosity of and from I have a 2 year subscription. Totally surprised me and I continue to be amazed by how great the Coh community is. DaimyoShi very generously bought me a 1 year subscription stating "Christmas is about giving! I making good money right now, time to share some of that wealth". Who does that? I mean there was a time in my life where i was so synical that i thought the world was full of selfish and uncaring people, thanks man for reminding me this isn't true!

CB is like this journals guardian angel i swear lol. He's helped me out along the way and is a great friend. Both in life and online but these days is there a difference? He bought me a 1 year subscription as well and i hadn't notice until a couple days later

So thanks go out to both of you, the Coh community is as strong as it is because of people like the both of ya.

I am fortunate enough to be able to take a 3 week trip to Florida starting December 17th and going until January 7th. Going back home where i was raised which enables me to see my family. My nephews and nieces who i havn't seen in almost 2 years. My friends, mom,brothers. I can't wait. This also wouldn't be possible if it weren't for the generosity from an unexpected source. I am truly blessed to be in such great company at this time in my life.

On another note i am going to try and get the commissionable artists list updated on the sites and i am currently working on both a website for TA (thanks to weebly.com) and a virtueverse page as well. Lots to do but i have been rejuvinated. Keep an eye out

is now taking commissions and is trying to make some extra money for Christmas. He can do pretty much any style ya want so hit him up.

is also taking commissions. They wanted me to add em to the commissionable artists list but i don't wanna screw up the journals for them so i will post em here. Go check out the DA page, they have an awesome style that's kinda cartoon but kinda not.

is also taking commissions ans does 3D renders at a great price. Go check him out and see what ya think. He does 1600x1200 renders for that price too

and finally last but never least, this man is taking on more commissions at the moment and i highly recommend him for anyone looking to get art done for their characters.

I've also gotten a few free pieces of art from various artists that i recently posted and wanted to thank them for it. It's just sooo cool to get surprise art. Even when i wasn't even aware that they existed. So thank you, it really makes my day, more then ya know trust me.

Hero-Con was a blast, I got completely wasted and injured myself but for the most part everything was awesome. Was great to meet up with new faces and see old friends. I also went to a local M&G here in Sacramento and that was fun too. The COH community continues to amaze me with their generosity and kindness to each other. Oh and a big thanks to 'Duckie' for getting me back to my room at the Con lol.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving in the states and finally i wanna say thank you to everyone for the views and watches. I am just over 40k views and have 411 watchers. For a guy who just enjoys art and used to collect it, it's pretty damn cool

Hero-Con 2008

The City of Heroes Meet and Greet has a new name this year. They are calling it Hero-Con. I originally didn't think i would be able to go due to financial reasons (GRR soooo sick of this whole financial thing )but due to another unexpected act of generosity on the part of Tremorr, i'll be there. Going solo this year at the actual event because my Sassy will be flying out for the east coast on that day but i am totally looking forward to it. Sassy will however be going to the Friday night events the night before the con though.

It's going to take place on October 18th at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Santa Clara, California. For more info you can check out this [link]

I'm going home..

Just found out that i am going to have the opportunity to go back to Florida come December. Already booked my plane ticket so from December 17th to January 6th I get to go home. Been such a long time since i got to see the family and some old friends that i'm really loking forward to it now.

The opportunity actually came from one of the most unlikely of places so i was pleaseantly suprised. Otherwise i wouldn't have been able to afford it. I missed a family reunion in July but this totally makes up for it

Introducing Digital Assassin!

Wanted to share with you guys another character i created using the coh engine. His name is Digital Assassin and is my homage to Tron. His bio is inspired by Tron and i thought the name would go along with that pretty nicely

Based the character off myself being trapped inside the game. Still working on something of a full Bio but heres what i got so far:

"HELP ME!

If anyone is reading this my name is Mike and i'm the creator of Thor's Assassin. Something freaky happened to me one night. I go over that night in my head and it just doesn't make sense. I was playing the game, fell asleep and when i woke up i was in the tutorial zone. I don't know what to do now, I guess i'll keep surviving until i find a way out. I just wanted to put this out there to everyone in my commissionable artists network to please make sure what i have is current and updated. Any changes to your commission info or maybe you have some updated pieces that ya wanna replace. I have had a few questions from potential customers asking about the dates of some journals and whether or not the prices were current. Remember also that this is a permanent part of my journal and if your up there, your there to stay until you tell me otherwise

On this note, does anyone know how to send a mass email out on DA? Does it work like the tagged words for your deviation, by just leaving a space between the names? Any info would be appreciated. Oh and moar stamps!!!

Golden Community

Most of you who read my journal already know what this is about by the title. But for the purposes of putting it out there i'm going to write about it anyways.

I've been part of the community over on the Coh boards for going on 4 years now. Mainly the fanart section but i've been known to roam about from time to time. However i am truly an Artwhore through and through so i always come back to that section. Recently there had been a heated discussion about alot of people upset with a certain company that does artistic commissions. From a list of at least 40 people, it appears like alot of them have been waiting for a year or more, in some cases over 2 years (*raises hand*). These people had either put a deposit of half down or paid in full for their artwork and have very little to nothing to show for it. In my case I have been waiting since may of 2006 after paying out $1,000 for 3 pieces and am in the same boat as the rest of the people. Hence the reason for the thread asking if anyone had heard from the artist or company in question.

Out of this my good friend decided to try and help out one of these customers by doing a piece for him. The joined in and offered to pick up another customers piece and another thread was made called "Satisfaction". The thread was made to try and give back to these customers who felt taken advantage of or cheated and now it's turned into a community affair the likes of which i have personally never seen. We all know the evils of the internet and how people take advantage of it but this is a case of a community pulling together to give back and help out. To the fanart community over on the coh boards i just wanna say you guys are trult the cream of the crop in my book. Thank you for going above and beyond and being willing to step in like you have and for your generosity.

Also a special shout out to and for volunteering their talents to this as well. Both artists have been favorites of Coh fanart community for a long time and have offered their time as well.I can't tell you how much your involvement in this means to the community. You 2 are awesome!! Thank you so much!!

Update

Hey everybody, been a while since i updated this journal or even been back here so i thought i'd drop in a line and let ya guys know i am still alive lol. So i have really just been involved in real life and all the changes we are undergoing daily here in California. Smoked in and trying to breathe with all the fires around us and trying to manage the financial constraints that just keep comin. I have been a slacker as far as my online life is concerned and there are alot of people that have requested to be put on the commissionable artist list. I'm gonna do my best to get you all up there guys i promise. Lifes good in spite of everything though and i couldn't be happier here with My Sassy and her family.

I thought i may of had a chance to get to Florida for the 4th of July and a bit of a family reunion but alas that wasn't meant to be. Maybe for christmas if it all pans out, we'll see. I hope this last month has brought great times and happiness to all of ya reading this and that life is as deep and rich for you as it is for me!

Closure
6/28/08

Back in 2006 i contracted MMOart to do several pieces for me and was so impressed by the quality and talent of Jomaro Kindred and also with their business as a whole that i paid in full for 4 pieces of art. I knew at the time that the price was kinda steep but i also had the money to spend on it so i went ahead with it. Over the past couple years we have went back and forth with limited communication that came to head a few months ago. That resulted in the Deathdealer piece that you see in my gallery now.

Well after all the smoke clears i now realize that 3 of those pieces are just not going to get done. I have tried every way i can to get ahold of them including personal phone numbers with no response so i am calling it here. Closing the book and accepting the loss. I just hope everything is ok with Joe and Kiesha and family and that they are all healthy, I am a bit worried for them. So with that i have posted 3 pieces as roughs to my scrap section and closing the book on this issue. Unless something radical happens this is the last i'll say anything else about MMOart. If this is the last i hear from them i just wanna say thanks for the great conversations, the awesome 2 pieces of art you finished for me and the great friendship! Mothers

It's still Mother's day here in California and i wanted to acknowledge my own after 36 years of life.

From the agony of seeing their children suffer, the pain of watching their children grieve, the joy of watching their children succeed. To the acomplishments in their own motherhood or their doubts. One thing remains true, there is no stronger bond then that of a mother and her children. My mom has been there through it all for me and still is. She was there when I missed "jump" as a spelling bee word to comfort me when she knew i was just anxious and blurted out the word "gump!!!". She was there when i was bed ridden, sick with something called "smokey mountain spotted fever" and took care of me, nurtured me back to health. She was there when i learned how to drive and wound up putting the my first car through the garage door. She was there for my first loss of love and the heartache i went through. She was there when i bought my first house at 22, to opening my own business. She was there in my darkest hour like an angel come to save me when they told me i had cancer nearly 3 years ago.

Throughout my life my mother has been an inspiration to me, a rock i could lean on, an angel for me, a protector, a savior, an example for me, a guider. Thank you mom for everything you have done for me in this lifetime! I miss you so much and think of ways to get home to see you constantly!

My mother is also an artist and the reason i have come to adore art as much as i do. She goes by on deviantart and i am so proud that shes my mother! I love ya so much momma!!

Milestones
5/11/08

It's been a while since i have really noticed but looking at it now I am at almost 29k views, almost 350 watchers and just about 360 deviations to date! I am simply awed by how much i have recieved from this community and the coh community over the years! I want to thank everyone that visits my lil corner of DA here!! It's such a treat to be among so many talented artists and great people!

My secondary red side main Lord Of Valhalla hit 50 last night as well. I didn't get a pic though as i was too busy fighting lol. He's a Brute elec/elec/elec of course! Making the count 8 for total 50's on the justice server and on coh! woot!

Also i just turned 36! For a whole year! I wanna thank Baquitania, Manoa, FunnyFaceDesigns and of course CB for their generous birthday gifts to me! I love every one of em!

Also we now have 53 artists joined up in the network for potential customers to browse. All posted up on the 4 sites and completely updated as of 5/12/08! Keep em comin guys!

36 ohnoes!!

So in four days I'll be having my 36th birthday and somehow that feels old to me lol. One more step closer to 40 but hey i'm still thirtysomething right? I'm sure 36 means something and it's probably not good but life has never been fuller or richer for me. California was a great decision and i remind myself of everything i have in my life everyday and despite my financial situation i have never been richer then i am right now! So bring on 36 woot!!

I just put up a few pieces and a special shout out to my boy for the 2 gifts he gave Sass and I. I love em both man! Kerse is one of those people that makes ya feel proud to know! Great friend and listener and would give ya the shirt off his back if you needed it! You da man Kersie!

Also since my birthday is soon i wanted to give shout outs to and who both just celebrated theirs! Happy birthday you 2!!

Also i have been a bit lazy on the commissionable artists and getting em posted to the other sites but i promise i'll get page 2 up on those sites soon(tm). Other then that i hope the weather is as good for you guys where you're at as it is here! I think i'll go out in it now lol!

Life goes on...

So it's been a long while since i have updated my journal and for that i apologize. It's been an interesting series of events for me and my family these last couple of weeks. Money has been tight for me and 'getting by' seems to be the run financially this past year. Still in Cali of course and loving it. Gas prices are soaring to $4 and climbing. Everything is getting more expensive and no more money coming in then before. So I am feeling a little gripped by that. Sassy's brother is going through some things internationally that could see him in a Thai jail so that has us all worried for him, just a big missunderstanding to me but dealing with international laws can be tricky i suppose. I have my fingers crossed for him. Other then that just loving the time i get to spend with my family now. Sassy and her girls. I get to play Coh now and seem to be doing more and more of that as of late lol. Missing my family back in Florida though and hoping to get out to see them this year at some point.

I havn't had much to update in the lines of art but i do have a few pieces gifted to me that i'll be posting up. Havn't been on DA or any forums since i last talked to you guys, just been kinda burnt out of it all but i'm back now. To everyone that favorited my pieces or added me recently i wanna say thanks! I really appreciate all the comments too and i'll get to them all in time eventually. I also had neglected the commissionable artists but as you will see from the update below, everythings caught up now. If you requested to be added and weren't just shoot me a reminder and i'll get ya in there.

Also last week our family lost a loved one and a treasured lil puppy named maggie. We are all shocked at it really and still grieving as it happened all to sudden. She was only 15 months old and was going to have puppies in the summer. She'll be missed as we all loved her.

Thats all i got for now but like the title says, life goes on! Hope everyone is doing well!

Commissionable Artists Problem

So I have been trying to update the Commissionable Artists journal since last night with 2 new entries and for some weird reason it won't let me now. You guys might have noticed 2 updates to it when i tried making it public but nothing shows up. When i go to update the journal it shows in the edit but nowhere else. Not even in the preview so i have contacted the Help Desk and told them the problem. For now i may have to start up another journal for it. Congratulations guys, we broke DA!!

Commissionable Artists Alert

So this is just a heads up to all those artists that have joined the list of Commissionable Artists. I have taken the liberty of transferring all the data and information over to the Coh boards via a thread entitled The Network - A resource and i wanted to bring it to your attention. If for whatever reason you'd like your name and information removed from that site please let me know and i will of course do so right away. I did this to further extend the range of how many people actually see it. I realized just now that there may be someone offended by that so if thats the case, i apologize. Last thing i wanna do is make you guys mad, this is only to help you in the end so let me know either way!I was also thinking of posting the list in other forums to gain the exposure so let me know your thoughts on that.

Champions Online and Goodbye Loj.

So it was announced and the forums are up and running and guess who signed up on the forums? Got alot of my good friends over there checking it out and wanted to get peoples feedback here as well. I am loving the new 'create your arch nemesis' feature but curious how it's all gonna play out. The graphics are a bit lame to me looking at the screenshots but we'll see. So far i am really not that impressed but it looks fun. It launches in 2009 around Febuary i think so it gives them a year to work things out. I'll be on Coh/V until they close the servers though, no worries there.Thoughts anyone?

Also me and Sassy have quit Legends of Justice, my longtime sg since the beginning of Coh due to some disagreements with the current leaders. Long story but it was just not the same anymore. We joined and are co-leading the Relentless SG over on Justice now which i'm told was the very first SG on the server. Along with Fanny, who has an artjam going on again and you should all check her out!

So tonight i was going through looking at my new MySpace page and inviting friends and my good friend found an imposter pretending to be me, using my bio and my art in his MySpace account. On one hand i'm kinda flattered but mostly pissed that someone would try and steal my identity!

Valentines Day is for lovers!!

So here we are, the one day of the year that is set aside for those of us in the world that are in love. For new love and romance, and theres a chance that i might not have any time with my baby today. I might not even get to see her. My car broke down and i can't get to her. So i wanted to take this journal just to give her a message in front of everyone.

It's been almost a year since i made the move from the east coast to the west coast. At the time i moved i never thought there was a real possibility of what she and i have today. We are winning at the game we are and have been playing all this time. Shes an amazing,generous, loving, passionate beautiful spirit and i've come to find myself more in love then i have ever been. I'm so happy i made the leap and have never been happier.

Sassy is my inspiration to live a bigger life full of meaning. Shes my silent strength i carry with me. My vibrant spark thats ignited me from a long sleep. Shes shown me it was ok to love this deeply and that i could trust in love again. Her committment to her children is also a source of inspiration to me and i've come to love them as well.

Baby i love you, more then i can ever really express and i look forward to everyday of the rest of my life with you! Happy Valentines Day!

So I finally got the gallery all sorted through and finished :whew:.

I got to say, that was a pain in the ass lol. I went through and wound up making it by character and then seperated it into 3 parts for the character. Polished,colored and sketches and then added in some categories for the fun of it. I thought it would help to find some things quicker. If you guys have a moment give it a quick look through and lemme know what ya think. Thanks btw for all the imput on it as well. It seemed overwhelming at first actually and having to wait after making a change to each piece was just painful lol.

Brrr

Getting colder here and winter has finally set in. We had a bad storm yesterday here in Cali and the power went out all day at Sassy's house. So i got to hunker down and enjoy a fire while four lil puppies kept all of us warm lol. Oh and i actually read a book.

I know i know, calm down, don't alert the media or anything lol.

So here we are in 2008, man time is just flying by! I'm looking forward to a great year building my life here in California. Some challenging obstacles in the way but i'm ready. Things are looking up for me already starting off the new year as well with a job and a new place to live.

So, whats your plans for the year guys? Looking forward as well to another great year here on DA and in art!! Keep up all the awesome work my friends and stay warm! MMOart is closing in on finishing a piece for me that has been over 2 years in the making. Looking forward to sharing that with you in the following days so keep an eye out for it!

I truly hope the New Year has found you all in good health and closer to your loved ones. Welcome to 2008!

Those of you that know me as a collector know that I go all out when i am passionate about something and MTG used to be that thing before my artz. Recently I have fallen into some tough financial problems as you all know and here i am with this massive collection of MTG cards.

Now I am just lost as to how to go about selling them and the thought of listing about 10,000 cards up on the internet makes my fingers numb lol. So I thought i'd throw this out to anyone that may be interested. I can tell you I have just about every Dragon ever made because that was my focus at the time and I kept most of the cards in mint condition. I don't have any of the very rare Alpha or Beta cards like Pox or the Lotus Blossum but I do have some very rare cards going back about 8 years. When i say 10,000 cards i am being generous btw. I am just inquiring to see if there might be anyone interested in taking the whole lot off my hands. I'd take any reasonable offer so don't be afraid to shoot me whatever you're thinking if you are. Thanks for reading!

On the art side i just posted up a couple of oollldd clips from a Justice Server Comic done back in 2005 that i'd forgotten about and a giftart piece by MissFanny of Sassy. It's been a while since i last looked but I am closing in on 21k views! Thank you guys so much! For the support and views over the years. I wanna officially apologize to my 10k winners because i promised them artz but as it turns out i just can't deliver right now on that promise. When and if things start rolling for me again I will make good on that you can bet!

If anyone has any ideas for a new CSS for me shoot em to me! I love this one but i thought a change might be good no?

It really was a blast! The decision to go came at about 1pm on Novemer the 30th and Sassy suprised me with it. So we hurried everything together and with alot of luck and help from unexpected places we rented a car,booked a room and headed off. We got there about an hour late (i call it fashionably late lol), but the whole event was put together perfectly. There was a great turn out and i got to meet a whole bunch of people that i have chatted to online or played in the game with including the developers of the game.

Tremorr really made the night for Sassy and i by just being a great host for us. He wound up not letting us pay for anything throughout the weekend and i never even expected to see him there. So that was awesome! Turns out he looks alot like a tank irl albeit a short sturdy looking one lol. Man thanks for all the hospitality brother, we had a great time and it's mainly due to you!

We did bring a camera but couldn't figure it out and wouldn't ya know? I forgot to bring screenies of TA and Sass for the art by David Nakayama. We got to meet him though and watch him work. The guy was like a machine! lol. Just drawing and drawing all night. David, we didn't get to talk alot but it was great to meet ya bro!

Also throughout the weekend sass and I spent alot of time with the people from the Justice server and most the pics i have below would have been taken by one of them. Thanks guys for making it all worth it both days!

I have to say the Devs were very open to the public and gracious with their time as well. We got to meet all the red names and talk with them about the game. We even got to go to Ex Libris's hotel room afterwards for a party. The infamous 343 that i can't tell you about lol! All in all a great event and i can't speak for Sassy but i know she had a great time as well! Like i said i didn't get pics so i'll borrow some other peoples and give em credit underneath!

Thats right coming up November 30th I am planning on being at the meet and greet thats being set up by the devs over on the coh coards. I am not 100% i'll be able to come but looking forward to it if it's possible. Heya everyone!

I know it's been like 2 months since i last made anything in the journal and i got to say....

Man i missed it. How's everyone been? Please speak up i'd love to hear from all my friends here on DA. Well winter kinda came and it was getting cooler. Leaves turning brown and it's that time of year where it's just gorgeous here. The winds pick up and the sounds of winter coming....maybe lol.

Other then that life couldn't be better! I get to spend alot of time with Sassy and her family and her girls are just awesome! A tribute to the fantastic mother that Sassy is. Got my own room now and with it comes *gasp* dial-up! Thats right! It's out here in BFE where no cable dare show it's face!

So that makes getting ingame impossible for me *sigh*. If anyone has any advice for that lemme know! Until next time guys, be well and hopefully my next update in the journal will happen sooner then this one did!

Just something quick to let ya guys know i am still around! I finally got a job and have been working my ass off every since! But to be fair i have had time here and there! Theat time i usually choose to be with my Sassy and her family! I have quickly grown to love her lil girls and we are all having a blast over here! Summer is already gone though! Damn where did it go anyways? lol

Well i will be updating this a lil more often then monthly so don't give up on me yet! I want to do some shout outs to some very cool people as well! Great to be back though and see all the awe inspiring art and talent from you guys! Keep em comin!

Yeah thats right this is for Sassy. Her birthday was July 3rd and i was too busy spending the day with her to put it in writing here.

What can i say about Sass that you guys don't already know? She's an amazing woman. Someone who inspires me everyday with how she shows up in the world. She is such an advocate for families and parenting and is an incredible mother herself. Very loving and affectionate. My source of happiness throughout the time i've known her. She gives alot to her community around her without asking anything in return and has an amazing heart. So this is for you baby! A little something that i worked out with Liz for your birthday. It's nothing compared to what your real present is *wink* but it's all part of it! Happy Belated Birthday! I love you and I hope Orlando is going good!

Hey guys!

No the gallery isn't closed and i just wanted to reaffirm that to everyone. I realized after i wrote that last journal that it sounded final and i wanted to make sure you guys know i'm still here and will be around!

On that note and seeing as how i know i have pieces out there that aren't done yet that are paid for. I wanted to mention that with the whole transaction between artist and collector it's rarely been noted that the collector can ne burned just as mush as the artist. I still have some loose ends to tie up with some artists out there and i am working on it guys i promise! It's always on my mind trust me!

But on that note there are several pieces i have out there that i've paid in full for and have waited close to a year to recieve. I'm not posting the names as it just isn't me but i thought with all the recent drama about it.That us as buyers need to be aware as well!

Due to my recent studies into myself and my life i am going to close this down as far as the collecting. I have come to the realization that my life as a whole has been out of integrity and collecting art has been my crux for awhile now. I let it get out of hand and this is my attempt to regain that integrity with myself,my friends, my life.

I say indefinately because i honestly don't know if i will ever start collecting again. It's become my addiction and i seem to lose control of myself in areas of my life where i was always responsible before. It started out when i had the finances to support it but lately that isn't the case and that doesn't fit me and who i really am.

It's been a great ride though and i have met some of the coolest people by doing it. I'll never regret the art i have collected but it really is time to move on. I may have a few odd pieces out there trickling in and i will post them up as i get them but for the most part this is the cutoff.

I think i have managed to relay my admiration and appreciation to all of you who have contributed to my gallery throughout the years but let me say it again! Thank you! For everything!

You'll still find me in the Scoop as thats something i can continue to do to support art and maybe in the game here and there. However for the most part my life in the physical world is now taking presedence. To those of you waiting on payment i will be in touch soon to clear things up finally. I apologize for having you wait this long. My DA account ends at the end of this month so i'll still be a member and try to give ya updates on how everythings going here!

When i said gallery i meant it as my purchasing of new art! Thats where my integrity with myself falls short and where i mean to clean it up! I'll be around here lurking and ytou can always find me on the coh boards and on the scoop! Free art is always appreciated but not asked for! Life.....just in a blur right now. Everything is going so fast it seems and it's not slowing down lol

It's been a month since i posted here in my journal but it seems like yesterday to me. Everything is going so quickly for me at the moment that i'm afraid to wake up some mornings and find out i am 50 already. However thats just like the ole saying "Time flies when you're having fun"

So yeah in my real life things are going great and i am loving California. I am here with this amazing woman and we are sharing our lives now. I got to go Kyaking(sp?) for the first time and tipped a couple times but it was a blast. The water is still chilly from the snow melt but i didn't mind at all. We also went up river this last week and swam as well. Great times. Financially i am still in a struggle but hopefully that will all be changing soon.

Here in the Virtual world things have changed as well, all my stats have changed and i am at 15k views, 310 pieces of art and i now have 230 people watching my DA space now. Thanks for everything guys you all rock! I don't care what Sassy says about ya!

I have recently taken on the role as writer/interviewer for the "City Scoop and have done my first article for the Fanart Section of which i am really proud to be a part of. Just another way i can support,promote, give back to the art community over at the coh boards. Let me know what ya guys think about that btw! Crits,comments or suggestions are always welcome! LOL I mean wow!!

Wasn't too long ago that I boasted about having near or over 300 pieces and then found out what the true number was as I only posted the oiginals, so here we are with 300 original pieces of fanart for my characters from City of Heroes and I still cherish everyone of them. I have mostly to thank the city of artists who migrated here from the fanart boards over on "the official fanart boards", you guys made me smile and brought me through some of the toughest times in my life and I am indebted t you for that! I'll never forget the friends I have made and the artists who contributed to this gallery. Through that game I have also met a beautiful woman and fallen in love. Was a great move to Cali and what a great day here as I write this!

Wanna recap the birthday gifts I recieved through some of those great friends also and thank all of them individually:

is soeone that has done so many pieces for my character TA and a great friend to boot. He made this piece to merge Sassy and TA into a hero and we love it although she looks a bit scrawny

made this piece to make fun of the macho image TA gets which he loves to do. Another great persn and extremely gifted artist even though he is so getting a wedgy if I ever meet up with him in real life.

then rebutted with this to get back at her roomate and give me some revenge which is sooo funny! I totally could see my character doing this also! Thank you so much Star

recently ssent this to me as a belated birthday gift as well and it was something he and I were trying to work out before! He had it made for me which is just awesome of him to do. I love the linework here and was blown away by the gesture! Thanks so much man!

So today is May 7th and every year round this time that means it's good ole TA's birhtday. This year it's number 35 which in Coh terms means I should get a power. hmm...

I wanted to send a thanks to all the Coh people that post over on the boards for their great birthday wishes and general kindness over the past 3 years towards me. I have met some incredible people through that game and it really is the reason I met my honey and moved to California ultimately. Speaking of which I wanna give a big thanks to all my friends over in my SG Legends Of Justice and tell em I haven't forgotten about em. Just been busy lately and havn't got a chance to get on.

So teh beer is iminent after I get home from work tomorrow and then off to 2 days of relaxing and taking in what it means to be 35.

Well honestly to be 35 and where I am right now means great friends, a beautiful view from my window and a promising outlook for the rest of my life! I can't wait to wake up tomorrow morning and get started again! Thanks again everyone for the kind words!

So May 7th is just around the corner and it will be my 35th birthday. I was browsing a store yesterday and saw that the age 35 had it's own section in the birthday card row. I was wondering what exactly that meant. I mean does 35 have some sort of signifigance? I know there are people that will read this and cll me youngster and youngin and say that 35 is nothing. "wait till you hit 40!" etc,etc but what I was really curious about is what 35 means as far as ornerstones in our lives.

I mean for me I am having one of the best times of my life. In love and in my personal life it's going great. Professionally I am struggling a bit but all in all It's going great. I don't see 35 as anything but anothe year tacked on and looking back on the year that was I am very pleased with it. There were some downfalls and I got tripped up a little but I am slowly getting back on my feet with all that.

Anyways enough ramblin, just a thought I had while realizing how close I am to turning 35. On the art side I still have a few pieces coming and there were a couple people that had birthdays that I had missed like Rowr! Happy birthday! Also today (April 23rd my little brother lokie celebrates a birthday so if you're reading this man happy birthday as well!

Yeah it was a birthday journal sue me!

200 watchers!! Wow so here I am just a lowly collector and I get graced with these many people watching me! I am honored and the artists that make up my gallery should get all the credit! I am just a guy who can't get enough art! Started a long time ago with just one giftart from someone named celticbolt and look at me now lol. You all rock and I thank each and every one of you who visit this gallery ! Thanks for the great ride I've had and theres more to come believe me!

I had intended to start doing these weekly but that never happens so here is my second installment of Spotlight for the great artists out there that I have come across. This time it's all for Graver!

Graver is an artist that uses mostly oils and watercolors to do his paintings after he's done a rough sketch of the idea he has for the piece. One of the most talented artists out there that I have come across using watercolors as a medium. He is contemplating using oils and offering that as an option for a piece to commission but he continues to amaze me with his watercolors alone.

His customer service and prep that goes into a piece is unmatched. He'll want all the details on the character he can get and then make a piece that coincides with your vision. His art is truly of making a picture that tells a story and he manages to get better all the time. Just don't cheat yourself and skip his gallery. Take some time and browse through his art and you'll see what I'm talking about!

So this is California?.....

Thats the thought thats been running through my head all week. Just sitting back and taking in what I've done,where I'm at and where things are going. It honestly hasn't sunk in yet that I am here and not leaving. I still feel like I am on vacation. All my clothes are still packed away neatly in my suitcases and bags.

I need to get my life going over here and thats the plan for the upcoming weeks. Find a place,get into a job and get things rolling again. Theres two things I hate most doing and I have to do them both soon (Looking for a home *moving* and looking for a job). But I can tell you the weather is gorgeous out here and I love the scenery! First impression of California is that it's a great place to live and grow, I know it has it's downfalls but work with me here lol!

On the art note not to worry, I have several pieces on their way for your viewing pleasure! I am starting to get back into making some comments here and there trying to catch up so bare with me!

Well I just wanted to let everyone know I have arrived in California and have been getting over the jet lag every since lol! It's just absolutely gorgeous here and I am loving the weather in comparison to what I left. This is where I'll be calling home from this point forward creating my new life. I am currently staying with Sassy and her family and having a great time getting settled in. I havn't had alot of time to check up on the artz but I will try and get some updates going and check in on some comments! Hope all is well with everyone!!

I hit 10K views and wow I can't even begin to express my appreciation for that from all of you. Me not being an artist at all I never really expected that much traffic running through my little hole in the wall here in DA but it speaks volumes for the artists that draw my characters for me. They are really the ones that create this vision of me and let me live out a fantasy through every piece they do. I treasure every piece made of TA or the other characters and it's a real treat to just browse through the gallery and revisit all the great art! So it should be me thanking you guys seriously!

In that vein though wound up doing this great piece for me as a congratulations on my 10k view:

Now onto whats so intense in my life right now, as I type this i am less the 24 hours from moving my life to California to start anew again and create a life for mysslf that is bigger and has more value for me then the way I have played at it in recent years. I amscared a little,excited,exhilerated and about the happiest I have been in a while all at the same time about it. I have been moving arond quite a bit recently coming from Florida and moving to Georgia for a couple years and then back to Florida 4 months ago. Now I am doing it again and traveling 2500 miles west of here to opportunity,love,a bigger and more powerful life and did I mention love?

So not that I believe that this would hold me back from getting back here to update ya guys at all but it won't be as often as it has been! I do have alot of art coming my way so expect that to be posted as well. This is also the reason I havn't been replying to as many messages or deviations as I usually do, I am just so busy getting everything together!

So in closing you guys are all in my cool book () and I look forward to reconnecting with you all in a few days from California!

GETTING CLOSE TO 10K, REMEMBER THE CONTEST IS STILL ON!!!!

I just want to give a shout out and recognition to each and every person that has contributed to my art gallery as a whole. Each one of you have brought happiness in my life with your creations and depictions of my characters through the game City of Heroes! I still find myself browsing my own gallery and smiling at all the great talent out there! I get simply awed at the art you guys put out and it never gets old for me! If everything were to shut down right now for me I'd honestly have these pieces as a memory of all the fantastic people I have met through these pieces! I am humbled that you'd take the time out of your lives to do this for me! Thank you so very much!

It would appear I am getting near to the 10k mark in views as well and this just seems like a landmark to celebrate. So as others have done throughout DA I am going to throw it out there that the first person to show me a screenie of the magical 10,000th hit will be included in one of my many deviations I recieve almost on a daily basis! Least I can do after all!

Also I want to follow in Buckeyestars footsteps and do some "thank you" pieces(have them done) honoring the many friends I have made and the things they have done for me throughout the time here on DA and the Coh Boards. Keep an eye out for that!

Thought I'd take a step away from the features thing I was doing and move back to something I had in mind. I don't know how often I'll run this, maybe weekly but I wanted to start running a feature for an artist that I think stands out to me. This week and my first Artist is Brandon McKinney.

Brandon McKinney's Biography:

Brandon McKinney is an illustrator who has worked on comics, storyboards, videogames and books for the last 15 years. He has done work for such clients as Electronic Arts, Lucasfilm, Warner Bros., Random House Books, Chronicle Books, Dark Horse Comics, Marvel Comics, Warp Graphics among many other clients.

An artist since his days playing Dungeons & Dragons as a kid, Brandon attended University of California at Los Angeles and attained a Bachelor degree in Fine Arts.

He currently resides in Florida with his wife, his two children and his cat named Kato.

Some of his credits include but are not limited to BEN10,Justice league, LotR video game and the first twelve issues of the Coh comic for Blue King comics.

I've known Brandon for quite a while now and had the pleasure of meeting up with him in real life. He's a genuinely great guy all around. Very cool person to talk with and be around and in my eyes an extremely talented artist. His pieces he has done for me over the years have always been a treat to see in the final version and always have a great feel like theres a story behind it. He is one of the best artists I've seen to do lineart and has a great feel for shading and lighting as well.
