Well I might as well update you on the world of me: work is fabulous - love my job. I play with beluga whales, walruses etc so who can complain. Sure the hosing of poo kinda sucks, but today I started working on training a whale to do a barrel roll. I get to man-handle him into a spinning frenzie... and considering the chubby quality of his blubbery belly, its a squishy adventure. ^_^ I just wish i didn't have to find a new job in june... unions really suck when you aren't allowed to join them. grr.

Sorry for no updates - I'm so busy with the zoo that it's crazy! you'd think the whales and polar bears would take a weekend off or something! cant really complain though, i LOVE my job. I just wish I got paid more... minimum wage is awful!

some funny stuff- at the zoo we keep track of all the stupid things that idiots say at the zoo - here are a few:

(two teenagers looking at the tapir's) 1. Wow! look at the cow! 2. Thats not a cow, its a panda!

(a family looking at the beluga whales)
little kid squeals: White dolphin!
mom: no honey, thats a white shark.
husband: are you serious? (he says staring at her in disbelief)

a school group walking through the zoo:

kid 1 notices a bird walking through the park: TEACHER! ITS A HUGE COCK! (referring to one of the many peacocks..)

later on by the walruses (same group)

the walruses are hauled out and sleeping on the beach...
kid 2: are they dead?
teacher: No, they're just sleeping.
kid 2: they look dead...
teacher: nope, just sleeping. See look, Basa just moved her flippers...
kid 2: Oh, i get it.. they're robots.

(and kid walks away bored.)

other news for me, I'm still at the zoo, but now i've upgraded to feeding penguins, walruses, beluga whales, polar bears, puffins seals and all sorts of other adorable marine critters. LOVE it. life is fantastic right about now.. job i cant wait to get back to in the morning and a computer of my dreams to entertain me while i'm waiting to get to work.

huh, well thats all for now, hopefully now that the computer is glorious I'll get my tablet installed and functioning so i can post some new pics. ^_^

SOOOO fun.

My art has taken an unfortuate back seat with the death of my computer - yes, my beautiful little ibook bit the dust. It made it over 4 years of hard labor. Fixing it will be about a 1/3 the cost of a new one, so i can't bear to waste my money.. Lucky for me I saved everything on an external harddrive!! EVERYONE BACK UP YOUR STUFF!!! saved my sanity i swear... Only bummer is now I'm stuck plaing around on my dad's pc, which is nowhere near as fast as my old one... *sigh* oh well. Perhaps the computer fairy will come give me a new one under my pillow...

can you be "too old" for a fashion? i am completely transfixed with the japanese gothic, punk fashion... Black Peace Now, Putamayo, Algonquins, Sexy Dinamite... the more straps, buckles, shreds and skulls the better. However, i'm a teacher and i have never recieved more appearance based compliments from students in one day in my entire life, than when i wore minimal make up and threw my hair in a ponytail wearing a painfully simple black suit. I heard i looked 'so mature' and 'nicer/pretty' from like 6 different japanese people in differnt classes..

should i take this as i'm not suited for my preferred style? i know deep down it really doesnt matter.. i'll keep buying the clothes i like.. but does there really have to come a time when i move on to *gasp* khaki's and simple sweaters?!?! *dies* does aging have to include blending into the rest of the 30-somethings... (i'm 25.. so i'm just planning ahead...)

I'm not really worried about what people think of me.. i could care less of strangers or the public to be completely truthfull.. but my mother and cousins.. sister etc, are very self conscious and conscious of me as well.. and since i dont wanna make them upset, i tend to calm down around them... *sigh* mask myself to appease the ones i value. how i wish i didn't have to hide. i guess that makes me self conscious in considerate manner? hmmm. blah.

but honestly, i interact with people all day long, teaching english and such, and then nothing. i fade into the black hole of my apartment... tv and internet seem to be my only connection to the world. its sad really. I've lost so much of who i was, or at least wanted to be. I've wasted so many opportunities and have no energy to seek out new ones. I feel completely lost in 'life'. or at least the motions of it. if i didn't have kiplingskat i honestly would have no real bonds of anysort... *sigh*

its not that I even feel sad... I dont really feel anything i guess. maybe thats the bigger problem. I've always been a bit apathetic, faked certain emotions because they're expected... but never really FEELING them... I'm really just a big fake. I'm either excited or a zombie.. nothing inbetween. I guess i'm just jealous of all the 'happy' people and even the sad ones, because at least they feel something.

I hope one day i can just fade away.. into one of those mystical worlds that pull unsuspecting anime characters into another place and time... What i wouldn't give to feel like i belonged, or that i had something of importance in me, or that i was just special or unique... that i wasn't just a cog in the great beurocratic machine, or an insignificant bug in this damn ant farm. Blah.

i was in this area called Machida in Japan, and i needed to find a conveni so i could get some cash from the atm.. and low and behold i had to walk for *3* blocks to find a conveni!! this is by far the most shocking event in my year in japan... honestly, there have to be a gazillion different convenient stores here, i have 5 within site of my apt alone!! it was an eerie, eerie experience lets just say that... ^_^

family is my number one priority, I'd have no regrets about quitting my job and flying home in a second if they truely asked me too.. but the problem is they never would.. I feel like I'm only getting half the story - a sugar coated version... and thats bad enough.

I was waiting for my train yesterday, and saw a particularly hot boy walk onto a train, not wanting to get separated, I hurried and made sure to get into the same car as him, grabbing a seat across the way in a prime 'stare without getting caught' location...... completely forgetting the fact that I was waiting for MY train...Long story short it took me about 15 minutes to realize it wasn't the right train, and by the time i finally got home the adventure had gone aobut 45 minutes out of my way. Yay for being an idiot.

He was soooo pretty though... ubber pretty... it was sooo worth it. *swoon* Now all i have to do is learn how to flirst in Japanese.... ^_^

Life without a scanner.. I can sum it up in one word for you. CRAP. The first thing I'm doing when I get my paycheck next month is heading downtown and buying a scanner. I cant believe how irritating it is not being able to color something.. I sketch and sketch, but can I color? no. can I post anything? no. I feel like I've been booted out of DA, but by my own doing no less.

AHHHH!!! just thinking about it makes me pissy.

So I just found out that men, particularly one giant asshole of a fother-mucker named Damon, suck much ass. Are all guys out there pigs? I was just informed last night that the only reason we were friends was for sex. Wow.. silly me, godforbid you enjoy someones company. I havent had sex with this arrogant PRICK in over a year, and last night i was just supposed to take him home with me. When i said no, we promptly ended the night, and I was informed that the only reason you spend time with the opposite sex IS for sex. that the only connections worthy of making with someone in life is for sex, and when the sex is gone, the connection is gone. He then tried badgering me into changing my mind, telling me my reasons for being celebate now are stupid and 'not me'. So now we're not freinds, and it's obvious to me now that he sees women as a recepticle to put is limp dick in, and nothing more.

Looking act our 'relationship' in this new, disgusting red light really makes me feel like cheap trash. I feel dirty and used. I'm utterly embarassed, and I cant beleive I let my real friends see me with him. I cant beleive I even let him meet my freinds. Looking back its so obvious..I'm only 5 years older than his daughter for gods sake, so i should have seen it coming. I guess I was too naive - but dont worry, I'm never going to be naive ever again. Safe to say all the trust issues involving men that I've been trying to work on this past year are well and truely worked out. Men are the devil, and I'm much better off on my own.

I CANT WAIT FOR JAPAN!!! I just signed up for my first japanese class.. mondays and wed nights from 6-9 WEEEE!!! one step closer to making my move to japan a good one. ^_^

Kumoricon was pretty coo... karaoke was fun - got judges choice *grin* won m'self a Teen Titan action figure. Ran a muck in the furry skirt, and loved every second of it mind you.. plus I bounced around like an idiot at the dance all night... didn't spend a fortune...quite a successfull con if i do say so myself.. oh, and ate a grand total of 10 boxes of pocky in 2 days. *double grin*

Ok. So the bastard who broke into my card has been using my cards to go into banks and make transfers etc. on my account, cash bad checks and put me 1000's of dollars in debt. I'm going to kill them. I can't believe that bank of america is STUPID enough to let someone without id of any kind walk in and pretend to be me with CANCELLED cards...
