Everything is going pretty good, although I did lose the Animation Super Heroes Contest. I did win the popular votes which made my day . Now back to something more serious, its time to start working on my animation and my illustrations. You all will be seeing a lot more work coming. I will load roughs and sketches from my previous sketchbook as well.

Thanks and please if you do happen to fly by leave a comment on any of my work. I I would love each and everyone's critique, they are very important for my success and improvement.

Hello family and friends, my name is Tien Chi and im pursuing my career in Media Arts and Animation at the Art Institute of Seattle. Since I began school money had been a big issue, I've earn and lost grants and scholarships through my first year. I steady maintain a 3.7 GPA and earned few spots on the dean's list. My father was a victim of idenity theft and now suffer a great deal of credit issues. I am trying my best to maintain my ground to finish school to help out around the house since I will be the first to graduate college in my family. Greatfully KSTW is having a contest for anybody who wants to win a $3000 scholarship toward the enrollment of the Art Institute of Seattle and win Adobe Creative Suite CS4 Masters Collection which values in $2000 of programs. You simply load up a drawing, sketch, video ect. of the next great super hero. Unfortunatlly the last day to upload was the 13th of March and voting has just begun March 16th. The public voting has only 10% say of the final decision. Winning this contest would be my first time in winning anything at all, it would mean a great deal to me and my family. I need everyone to help me out and vote for me please.

Below are links to vote and here are some rules.
-YOU ONLY CAN VOTE ONCE A DAY (It monitors IP address)
-YOU WONT NEED AN ACCOUNT TO VOTE, yay!
-VOTE FOR ANIMAL HEROES

[link]

THANK YOU ALL!!!

Currently rerolled at the Art Institute of Seattle. We are having a class called Pre-Production which will be a 4 quarter long class and will result in a 2-5minute film. So far this is the first quarter and the concept art I had to come up with for our pitches.

In a time of widespread war, General Daedalus delivers his son, Icarus, to the only place he will be protected from the war: a floating island in the sky. Daedalus tells Icarus that one day, when it is safe, he will come back for Icarus. Icarus spends ten lonely years on his island in the sky, growing food and maintaining the clockwork machinery that keeps the island airborne. His only contact with the world he was separated from is a high-powered telescope through which he observes the lives of the people below. He sees the war and devastation, but he also sees the goodness and hope of humanity. He has neither seen nor heard from his father and is beginning to lose faith that he will return. One day, while musing on his pet bird's freedom to fly to and from the Island as he pleases, Icarus asks himself an important question: is it better for him to stay on his island, safe but completely isolated from society, or should he return to the dangerous and flawed world below? He decides to return. The only hope he has to flee the island is to cannibalize its clockwork mechanisms and construct a flying machine. Without its machinery, the island begins to fall to the earth. Icarus escapes the plummeting island in his flying machine but ultimately crashes himself. He is rescued by an angry Daedalus, but the worst has passed. Icarus once again rejoins the world.

CLICK HERE TO VIEW ARTWORK [link]

Story by: Nathan Heal
Characters Design: Tien Chi
Island Design: Mindy Cossitt
Concept Art:Nate, Tien and Mindy
[link]
